VEHICLE WAS BACKED INTO GARAGE PARKING SPACE AS USUAL BY WIFE. KEY REMOVED, VEHICLE WAS THOUGHT TO BE IN PARK. PARKING BRAKE NOT APPLIED. GARAGE DOOR WAS LEFT OPEN. 30 MINUTES LATER, VEHICLE WAS NOT IN GARAGE AND WAS STRAIGHT ACROSS THE CUL-DE-SAC AT NEIGHBORS DRIVEWAY 6' AWAY FROM THEIR CAR. UPON FURTHER INSPECTION, MINOR DAMAGE AND PAINT SCRAPES WERE OBSERVED AT BACK OF NEIGHBORS BUMPER AND RIGHT FRONT OF THE MDX. PLASTIC CLIP WAS OBSERVED ON GROUND THAT ATTACHED PLASTIC BUMPER TO BODY OF MDX. SHIFTER WAS FOUND TO BE IN REVERSE ON MDX. TESTING AFTER THE FACT SHOWED THAT THE KEY CAN BE REMOVED WHILE NOT IN PARK. I NOTICED A RECALL STARTING WITH 2003 MDX OF THE KEY BEING REMOVABLE WHILE NOT IN PARK. WE HAVE OWNED THIS VEHICLE SINCE NEW AND HAVE BEEN AT SAME ADDRESS. *JS
2001 ACURA MDX, MULTIPLE ENGINE MOUNT FAILURES AT LOW MILEAGE AND ON A VEHICLE THAT IS ONLY DRIVEN ON THE STREET. REQUIRED REPLACEMENT ONCE UNDER MANUFACTURER'S WARRANTY, ONCE UNDER EXTENDED WARRANTY UNDER 100,000 MILES, AND NOW BOTH NEED TO BE REPLACED AGAIN AT 102,000 MILES. PLEASE RECALL, THIS IS EXPENSIVE AND RECURRING. *TR
MOTOR MOUNTS FAILED AT 50K MILES AND NEED REPLACEMENT. *TR
ACURA MDX DRIVEN FOR 5 YEARS HAD MOTOR MOUNTS REPLACED AT 65,000 MILES. SEEMED LIKE WAS NOT THE ONLY MDX THAT HAD THIS PROBLEM. HAVING PART REPLACED, COULD SAVE PART IF NEEDED. THE FAILURE LED TO ENGINE VIBRATING , WHICH COULD LEAD TO MORE PROBLEMS, INCLUDING TRANSMISSION. *AK

WITHOUT WARNING THE TAILGATE GLASS FELL TO THE GROUND WHEN THE CONSUMER WAS CLOSING THE TAILGATE. CONSUMER HAS NOTIFIED THE DEALER AND THE MANUFACTURER. *AK
