The contact pumped the brake pedal, and the brake pedal responded as needed. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact stated that the failure had been recurring intermittently. The contact stated while pulling out of a parking lot and depressing the brake pedal, the failure recurred. The contact pumped the brake pedal several times; however, the failure persisted, nearly causing a crash. The contact stated that upon engaging the electric parking brake, the vehicle stopped as needed. The contact was able to continue driving. The vehicle was taken to the dealer several times; however, the dealer informed the contact that the failure could not be duplicated. The dealer advised the contact to pump the brake pedal and to engage the electric parking brake during the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was unknown.
