TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 ACURA TSX. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE REAR PASSENGER SEAT BELT WAS EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO GET SECURED ON A BOOSTER SEAT. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE SHOULDER HARNESS WORKED FINE, BUT THE LAP BELT WAS NOT LONG ENOUGH TO LATCH PROPERLY. THE CONTACT SPOKE WITH THE MANUFACTURER AND WAS ADVISED THAT THE SEAT BELTS WERE DESIGNED AS NORMAL AND WOULD NOT BE ADJUSTED TO FIT A BOOSTER SEAT. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 1,900.
AFTER DRIVING FOR ABOUT 30 MINUTES THE BRAKE PULSATE SO BAD THE VEHICLE DOESN'T WANT TO STOP. ACURA IS BLAMING THE DRIVER AND IS MAKING ME DRIVE TO THE ORIGINAL DEALERSHIP 120 MILES ONE WAY TO HAVE THE PROBLEM FIXED. AFTER DOING A GOOGLE SEARCH. THIS SEEMS TO BE A BIG PROBLEM FOR ACURA TSX OWNERS. *TR
THE REAR BRAKE PADS IN MY 2010 ACURA TSX WENT FROM 5MM OF PAD, TO 0 IN 3000 MILES. ONE DAY THEY WORKED FINE, AND THE NEXT DAY THE ROTORS WERE TAKING ABUSE. $491 LATER, THE DEALERSHIP RELUCTANTLY INFORMED ME OF A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT THAT WE NEVER HEARD ABOUT. "ACCORDSETTLEMENT.COM" *TR
WHEN IT RAINS THE DRIVERS' SIDE WINDSHIELD WIPER DRAGS BACK WATER ONTO THE WINDSHIELD RIGHT IN MY LINE OF SIGHT. IT COMES FROM THE OUTER SIDE OF THE WIPER AND FORMS A V ACROSS THE WINDSHIELD. I DON'T KNOW HOW BETTER TO DESCRIBE IT. IT OBSTRUCTS MY LINE OF SIGHT RIGHT WHEN I NEED THE WIPERS TO CLEAR THE WINDSHIELD THE MOST. I FEEL IT'S VERY DANGEROUS. I AM BEING TOLD THIS IS HOW THE WINDSHIELD WAS ENGINEERED. HOW COULD THAT BE POSSIBLE? *TR
IT WAS APPROXIMATELY 8:00 AM, CONDITIONS WERE CLEAR AND THE TEMPERATURE WAS 51 DEGREES. I WAS AT A FULL STOP AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT WITH THE CAR IN DRIVE AND MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE. THE CAR WAS IDLING NORMALLY WHILE WAITING AT THE LIGHT AND THEN SUDDENLY I HEARD THE ENGINE NOISE CHANGE, RPMS INCREASED AND I COULD FEEL THE CAR PULL AGAINST THE BRAKES. I PUT THE CAR IN NEUTRAL AND THE TACH SHOT UP TO 4,500 RPMS. I PUT THE CAR IN PARK AND SHUT IT OFF. AFTER THE CAR WAS SHUT OFF, I RESTARTED IT AND THE RPMS RETURNED TO A NORMAL IDLE. I SHIFTED INTO DRIVE WHEN THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN. IT WAS HARD TO GET THE SHIFTER OUT OF PARK BUT IT DID GO INTO DRIVE. THIS INCIDENT OCCURRED AT THE LIGHT IN FRONT OF AN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL. ABOUT A HALF DOZEN CHILDREN WERE CROSSING IN FRONT OF MY CAR WHEN THE ENGINE WENT OUT OF CONTROL. IT WAS VERY SCARY. I IMMEDIATELY CONTACTED THE CLOSEST ACURA DEALER TO REPORT THE INCIDENT AND TOOK THE CAR TO THAT DEALER. THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM SO THEY CALLED IN THE REGIONAL ACURA REPRESENTATIVE. HE CONDUCTED A 4 HOUR EXAMINATION OF THE CAR BUT WAS UNABLE TO REPRODUCE THE PROBLEM AND COULD NOT OFFER A SOLUTION FOR FIXING THE CAR. I REQUESTED A COPY OF THE TEST REPORT SO THAT I COULD SEE WHAT WAS TESTED AND THE RESULTS OF THOSE TESTS. ACURA REFUSED STATING THE INFORMATION WAS PROPRIETARY. I'VE HAD NUMEROUS DISCUSSIONS WITH ACURA CORPORATE, THE SERVICING DEALER AND THE DEALER WHERE I PURCHASED THE CAR. THE TWO DEALERS ACKNOWLEDGE THE SERIOUSNESS OF THE ISSUE AND STATE THAT THEY BELIEVE ACURA NEEDS TO DO SOMETHING TO SOLVE THIS SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE. THE ACURA CORPORATE REPRESENTATIVE STATES THEIR POSITION AS "WE DON'T KNOW HOW TO FIX THE PROBLEM BUT WE WILL NOT REPLACE THE CAR". *TR
MY HUSBAND AND I PURCHASED A 2010 ACURA TSX WITH APPROXIMATELY 50 MILES ON THE ODOMETER. WHEN THE VEHICLE REACHED 350 MILES THE LEFT FRONT STARTED KNOCKING VERY BADLY WE TOOK IT TO ACURA OF COLUMBUS WHERE WE PURCHASED THE VEHICLE AND MADE A SERVICE APPT. WE TOOK THE CAR IN AND THEY TIGHTENED THINGS UP THEY STATED. A DAY AND A HALF LATER THE CAR STARTED MAKING THE NOISE AGAIN WE TOOK IT BACK IN THEY KEPT IT FOR A WEEK AND REPLACED THE LEFT FRONT AXLE AND GREASED THE RACK AND PINION BOLTS..WE GOT THE CAR BACK AND IT AGAIN STARTED MAKING THE NOISE AGAIN JUST NOT AS BAD AND THEY STATED THEY REPLACED THE LEFT BALL JOINT. I STILL DO NOT HAVE THE CAR AND HAVEN'T HEARD ANYTHING. *TR
IN SLIPPERY CONDITIONS, SUCH AS RAIN, IF YOU NEED TO ACCELERATE, THE TRACTION CONTROL CUTS POWER PRACTICALLY COMPLETELY, SO IF YOU ARE AT A STOP SIGN, AND TRY TO CROSS A BUSY INTERSECTION, IF YOU CAN GET THE TRACTION CONTROL TO NOT ENGAGE YOU CAN MOVE PRETTY QUICKLY ACROSS THE INTERSECTION, IF IT'S ENGAGE, AND IT ACTIVATES IT'S AS THOUGH YOU TOOK YOUR FOOT COMPLETELY OFF THE ACCELERATOR, I'VE HAD A LOANER CAR OF THE SAME MAKE AND MODEL AS MINE, BUT IT WAS AN AUTOMATIC, THE MANUAL TRANSMISSION DOESN'T SEEM TO WORK THE SAME WITH THE TRACTION CONTROL AS THE AUTOMATIC DOES. THE AUTOMATIC YOU CAN FEEL THE CAR PRACTICALLY CLAW AT THE ROAD TO MOVE FASTER, WHILE THE MANUAL, POWER IS JUST COMPLETELY CUT, IT'S QUITE DANGEROUS.
I HAVE A 2010 ACURA TSX WITH 28,000 MILES THAT NEEDS REAR BRAKES REPLACED. FRONT BRAKES ARE FINE BUT REAR BRAKES ARE WORN DOWN TO THE METAL. ACURA WON'T STAND BEHIND THE WARRANTY SAYING THIS IS NORMAL WEAR. THEY TELL ME I AM ONE OF THE LUCKY ONE BECAUSE MOST ARE REPLACING AT 12,000 MILES. YOUR FRONT BRAKES SHOULD WEAR OUT BEFORE YOUR REAR BRAKES AND MY FRONT BRAKES ARE IN GREAT SHAPE. AS I HAVE RESEARCHED ONLINE THERE ARE NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS. I WILL HAVE TO REPLACE THE REAR BRAKES IN ORDER TO PASS INSPECTION ON A 10 MONTH OLD CAR. ACURA WANTS TO CHARGE ME $390.00 TO DO THIS. THE SERVICE MANAGER ADMITTED THAT ACURA HAS A PROBLEM BUT THEY ARE NOT ALOUD TO REPLACE ANY REAR BRAKES UNDER WARRANTY. OBVIOUSLY THE MANUFACTURER HAS A PROBLEM WITH THE WAY THE BRAKING SYSTEM IS SET UP ON THIS CAR AND IT NEEDS TO BE RECALLED AND CORRECTED. ONCE AGAIN THE CONSUMER WILL GET LEFT HOLDING THE BAG. *TR
MICHELIN PILOT HX MXM4 CAME INSTALLED ON MY 2010 ACURA TSX. AT 220 MILES TIRE DEVELOPED A BUBBLE, AND AT 280 MILES WENT FLAT. TIRE WAS REPLACED AT A COST OF $208, THERE WAS A TEAR IN THE SIDEWALL. I HAD THE CAR FOR LESS THAN 2 WEEKS, DROVE IT EXTREMELY CAREFULLY (NO HARD BRAKING, ACCELERATION, AND CERTAINLY DID NOT HIT ANY CURBS OR POT HOLES). THESE TIRES ARE DANGEROUS AND IF IT WAS NOT FOR THE ON BOARD TIRE PRESSURE MANAGEMENT I WOULD HAVE DRIVEN THE VEHICLE WITH A FLAT TIRE AND POTENTIALLY CRASHED. *TR
MY 2010 ACURA TSX BRAKE PAD WORE OUT @ 21K MILES. A DAY AFTER I STARTED HEARING NOISE I TURN IT INTO THE DEALER. THEY TELL ME THE BRAKE PADS WORE OUT AND THAT THE ROTORS ARE DAMAGED. I END UP HAVING TO PAY $321.20 IN REPAIRS. I STILL AM HEARING NOISE FROM THE REAR WHEEL AS IT IS NOT FULLY REPAIRED. I'LL HAVE TO TAKE TIME OFF WORK TO TAKE IT IN YET AGAIN. I HAVE A 2006 HONDA ELEMENT IN THE GARAGE AND I NEVER REPLACED THE PADS YET. THERE'S A SERIOUS PROBLEM WITH THIS. I AM VERY UNHAPPY. *TR
MY 2009 ACURA TSX NEEDS BRAKES AT 25,000 MILES WHEN ON AVERAGE BRAKES SHOULD BE CHANGED AT 50,000. THIS IS A WAY FOR THE AUTOMAKERS TO MAKE MONEY FROM THE POCKETS OF THE CONSUMER. *TR
2010 ACURA TSX. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT AND VSA LIGHT ISSUES. *SMD THE DEALER FOUND THE WHEEL SENSOR ON THE LEFT FRONT WAS BAD, DUE TO INTERNAL FAILURE THE DEALER REPLACED THE SENSOR. THEY ALSO FOUND THE LEFT FRONT WHEEL BEARING WAS LEAKING GREASE AND CAUSED THE WHEEL SENSOR TO GO BAD. THEY REPLACED THE LEFT WHEEL BEARING. THE HIGH BUTTON ON THE PASSENGER SEAT WARMER LIGHT WAS INOPERABLE. ALSO, THE THIRD CLUTCH PRESSURE SWITCH FAILED. THE DASHBOARD WAS BUBBLING IN THE CENTER AND THE STEERING WHEEL WAS COMPLETELY DISCOLORED. THE POWER WINDOWS WERE MOVING SLOWLY UP AND DOWN. THE CONSUMER CONTINUED TO EXPERIENCE PROBLEMS WITH THE BRAKES SQUEAKING, DESPITE THE REAR BRAKES BEING REPLACED, THE DOOR WOULD NOT OPEN, THE SEAT BELT COVER BROKE. ALSO, THE ENGINE WOULD NOT START. *JB
I BOUGHT A 2010 ACURA IN APRIL OF 2010. THROUGH OUT THE SUMMER, THERE WOULD BE TIMES WHEN I WOULD ENTER THE CAR, TRY TO PUT MY SEATBELT ON AND IT WOULD NOT GIVE IT TO ME. I WOULD SIT THERE AND PULL AND IT WOULD TAKE A FEW TIMES AND FINALLY GIVE ME THE SEATBELT. THIS WOULD HAPPEN A LOT DURING THE SUMMER AND THEN THE PROBLEM SEEMED TO GO AWAY. I WAS REAR ENDED FIVE DAYS AGO IN MY ACURA TSX. I WAS WEARING MY SEATBELT BUT IT NEVER LOCKED TO HOLD ME IN PLACE. I ENDED UP HITTING MY HEAD ON THE STEERING WHEEL. I WISH I HAD GOT MY SEATBELT CHECKED IN THE SUMMER, REALIZING THAT IT WAS PROBABLY DEFECTIVE. I WOULD HATE TO SEE THIS HAPPEN TO ANYONE ELSE. *TR
