Every time I start the car, a message comes on saying that the passenger airbag is off even when I have an occupant next to me. I spoke with the dealer and he told me that this recall was claimed and fixed in 2022 in Texas by the previous owner but I replied that the problem continues and he told me that this was no longer an Audi problem. Furthermore, every time it accelerates over 40 miles per hour, a message about the driving system in malfunction appears and also the automatic on and off system at stops stops working and when I drive it at low speed there is no problem. I took it to Audi and they told me that they should change the turbo and I told them that the car only has 100,000 miles and why they should change a turbo that only has 100,000 miles of use and they told me that’s how it is
My 2017 Audi A4, is having a problem with the passenger air bag sensor. Whether there is a person on the passenger seat or not, the air bag sensor with turn on or off without warning and display a message. I have read that this problem has been recalled before.
I have been experiencing something that might be related to safety recall 74E3, but i am not sure. I've been driving with my seatbelt on with no one at the passenger seat. But the seatbelt sign keeps showing up with the beeping sound, and the sign says Safety System Malfunction with front airbags off.... I called the Audi Fletcher Jones dealership in Irvine, California, the service team told me that they don't have the part to help fix this recall and there is nothing they can do. They also would not tell me when this recall can be fixed. I called a few other dealership in Orange County, California, seems none of the dealership has the parts to fix this. I have not yet encountered an accident, but felt risky driving the car now.

The passenger side airbag of the car does not detect passengers in the car. The problem was confirmed by the dealer and was notified to me before putting deposit on this vehicle. The deposit was placed in November of 2021 and as of today there is still no update on the fix. I saw on your website that if the manufacturer is not able to fix the issue in a timely manner then to notify. My main concern is that I’ve been waiting for a repair with no update and when I request for one, all I get is “ We’re not sure when the remedy will be available “. If you could please look into this matter and let me know. Thank you so much for your help

Our 2017 A4 suddenly had the passenger airbag warning light illuminate while driving. In addition a different warning stated "safety system malfunction." We took the car to the dealer. They saw that there was a code in the computer but said that this could be "because a wire moved." They claimed it was "fixed" by "restarting" the car. They did no repair despite our protests, and told us to bring it back if it happened again. The next time we drove the car it happened again. We returned to the dealer. They stated the following (1) there is nothing wrong with the car and we should ignore the random intermittent safety light and continue driving; (2) that "probably you won't have a crash during the malfunction, so it should be OK" and "Audi engineering won't pay to fix this under your warranty because "sometimes your seat heater can trigger this warning for no reason if you don't use the seat heater." Audi is refusing to fix this obvious safety error impacting the airbag system.
Receiving Safety Malfunction warning with airbag symbol repeatedly while trying to drive. I am unsure why this is occurring, however it would seem this is a known recall for numerous 2017 Audi A4 vehicles. Please help.
Passenger air bag notification on gauge cluster indicates that passenger airbag is off when occupied and unoccupied multiple times in a small time period. The indicator goes back and forth between airbag on and airbag off constantly activating an alarm.
MY 2017 AUDI A4 WARRANTY FOR FACTORY JUST ENDED I HAVE A USED CAR WARRANTY ON THE CAR SAFETY RESTRAINT ONE AND KEEPS ON COMING ON PASSENGER SEAT SEEMS MALFUNCTIONING FOR A SEAT POD
The passenger side air bag warning light and/or passenger seat sensor mat has failed 3 times (twice since we've owned the car and once before). We purchased a used 2017 A4 Audi Sedan in October 2019. In early November 2020 the passenger side airbag warning light came on. After adjusting the front passenger seat, the light went off. Thereafter, the light would intermittently go on and off. We took the car to the dealer from whom we bought it - Royal Automotive Group in San Francisco. Their technician tested the car and confirmed a fault code #DTC B1225F1. They found "tsb #2051242/5 for issue and fault" and installed "cable tie per tsb." We continued to drive the car without incident until September 2021when the problem happened again. The passenger side airbag warning light began going on and off intermittently both when the front passenger seat was occupied and when it was not. Since we had moved from San Francisco to Novato, we took the car to Audi Marin. They verified the concern and found fault code P122F51. They confirmed the tsb recommended repair had already been done and told us it was first repaired on August 2, 2019 (before we bought the car) and again in November 2020 when we reported the problem to Royal Automotive Group in San Francisco. Audi Marin's recommended repair is to replace the passenger side seat POD which would cost approximately $2,000. We have been advised that the defective passenger side air bag and/or seat sensor pad constitutes a safety hazard because the airbag system may not work. We have since learned that several Audi models have been recalled for defects in the passenger occupant detection system (PODS). In March of 2021, it was announced Audi is recalling virtually all A3, RS3 and S3 cars built from 2015 to 2020 to address the risk that the PODS may malfunction and turn off the airbag when someone is in the front passenger seat.
FAULTY AUDI A4 PODS SENSOR DESPITE PREVIOUSLY REPLACING RECALLED CONNECTOR. PASSENGER AIRBAG DEACTIVATES AND CAUSES FREQUENT DASH ALARMS. REPLACEMENT / REPAIR NOT COVERED UNDER MANUFACTURER OR EXTENDED WARRANTIES. QUOTED REPAIR BY AUDI DEALERSHIP $1700 OUT-OF-POCKET FOR AN OBVIOUSLY FAULTY COMPONENT THAT SEEMS TO BE AFFECTING NUMEROUS AUDI VEHICLE MODELS AND YEARS $1700
PASSENGER AIRBAG GOES ON AND OFF RANDOM WITH OR WITHOUT A PASSENGER. DRIVING ON SIDE ROADS AND HIGHWAYS.
NHTSA RECALL 19V547 -- I RECENTLY EXPERIENCED THE ISSUE WITH MY 2017 AUDI A4 IN WHICH THE PASSENGER OCCUPANT DETECTION SYSTEM HAS BECOME FAULTY. AS A RESULT OF THIS ISSUE, MY PASSENGER AIR BAG WILL SHUT OFF AS IT IS NOT DETECTING A PASSENGER IN THE VEHICLE EVEN WHEN ONE IS PRESENT. I CONTACTED MY AUDI DEALER WHO TOLD ME THEY WERE AWARE OF THIS ISSUE BUT DID NOT HAVE THE PARTS TO FIX THE PROBLEM AT THAT TIME. THIS WAS OVER A MONTH AGO AND REMAINS AN ISSUE. WITH NO OTHER FORM OF TRANSPORTATION, WE ARE FORCED TO DRIVE A CAR WITHOUT A PASSENGER AIR BAG INTERMITTENTLY. THIS IS A SERIOUS RISK TO OUR FAMILY. I BROUGHT THIS UP AGAIN TO OUR DEALER, THEY INFORMED ME THAT IF I WANTED TO TRADE THIS VEHICLE IN, THEY WOULD GIVE ME A $500 ALLOWANCE TOWARDS A NEW CAR. THIS DOES NOT SOLVE THE PROBLEM AND EVEN NOW THEY WILL NOT SCHEDULE MY CAR FOR SERVICE AS THEY DO NOT HAVE THE PARTS TO SUPPORT THE REPAIR. THIS IS A MAJOR RISK TO MY FAMILY. IT OCCURS RANDOMLY DURING MOTION. AT EVEN 30 MPH A COLLISION WOULD RENDER MY PASSENGER UNPROTECTED. I AM NOT SURE WHAT I CAN DO RIGHT NOW TO KEEP THIS UNSAFE VEHICLE ON THE ROAD.
I BELIEVE THIS IS THE SAME PROBLEM AS RECALL #18V370000 BUT MY CAR IS NOT IN LIST OF RECALLED CARS. WITH AN ADULT IN THE PASSENGER SEAT, A WARNING MESSAGE SAYS THAT THE BECAUSE OF A MALFUNCTION, THE AIR BAGS ARE TURNED OFF. A FEW SECONDS TO A MINUTE OR TWO LATER ANOTHER MESSAGE SAYS THE AIR BAGS ARE ON. THIS SEQUENCE CAN APPEAR MANY TIMES IN AN HOUR OF DRIVING OR NOT APPEAR AT ALL FOR SEVERAL DAYS. I HAVE VERIFIED WITH THE DEALER THAT WHEN THE MESSAGE SAYS THE AIRBAGS ARE OFF, THEY REALLY ARE OFF. SO MY PASSENGER SOMETIMES LACKS THE PROTECTION AFFORDED BY THE AIR BAGS.
AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT COMES ON IN DASH AND CHIME CONTINUOUSLY GOES OFF AT VARIOUS TIMES (WHILE STATIONARY OR DRIVING) - WITH OR WITHOUT PASSENGER IN SEAT. BROUGHT CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG NEEDS TO BE 'RE-HARNESSED'. ALSO STATED THAT UNTIL THE REPAIR IS DONE THE LIGHT AND CHIME WILL CONTINUE GOING OFF AND THE AIRBAG IS AT RISK OF NOT DEPLOYING IN AN ACCIDENT. I AM OUTSIDE OF MY WARRANTY AND IT IS NOT COVERED EVEN THOUGH IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE. IT WILL COST ABOUT $300 TO FIX.
WHILE DRIVING WITH THE DRIVER'S SEATBELT LATCHED, I RECEIVED A WARNING/REMINDER TO FASTEN THE SEATBELT. AFTER SEVERAL SECONDS, THE CHIME AND WARNING MESSAGE STOPPED. I TOOK THE VEHICLE INTO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY REPLACED THE SEATBELT RECEPTACLE.
