TL* TAKATA RECALL. THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 AUDI Q5. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V078000 (AIR BAGS) HOWEVER, THE PART TO DO THE REPAIR WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE DEALER WAS CONTACTED AT: NEW COUNTRY AUDI GREENWICH 181 WEST PUTNAM AVENUE, GREENWICH, CT 06830 AND CONFIRMED THAT THE PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE FOR THE RECALL REMEDY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE AND WAS NOT ABLE TO CONFIRM WHEN THE PARTS WERE TO BECOME AVAILABLE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.
PANORAMIC SUNROOF START LEAKING WATER WHEN RAIN AND PANORAMIC FOAM SWELLS, FOAM BECOMES RUSIED AND BUILDS CORROSION.
TAKATA RECALL! THE ENGINE LIGHT IS CONSTANTLY ON AND THE PASSENGER DOOR IS NOT WORKING PROPERLY. ONE OF THE DOORS HAVE TROUBLE LOCKING AND THE OTHER CAN'T SENSE THE REMOTE FOR UNLOCKING, IT NEEDS TO OPEN MANUALLY FROM INSIDE OF THE VEHICLE. THE ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE CAR IS TURNED ON.THE VEHICLE WAS IN THE SHOP FOR WEEKS AND EXPENDED 2K WITH CHANGING THIS AND THAT BUT NOTHING WAS FIXED. THE ISSUE IS STILL EXISTS. THE ENGINE LIGHT IS STILL ON!
AFTER MY CAR HAD BEEN SITTING FOR 8 DAYS I WENT IN GARAGE TO CRANK IT. THE CAR CRANKED BUT SHOOK VIOLENTLY. I IMMEDIATELY SHUT IT OFF. I TRIED TO RE CRANK IT BUT IT WOULD NOT CRANK. I CALLED AUDI AND HAD IT TOWED IN. THEY TOLD ME THE "LIFETIME" TIMING CHAIN WAS STRETCHED. THAT THE REPAIR WOULD COST BETWEEN $4,000 AND $7,000 TO FIX. I DID SOME QUICK SEARCHING AND SAW OTHER FOLKS WITH SIMILAR ISSUES. THE CAR HAS 98,000 MILES , ALWAYS SERVICED BY AUDI. I CALLED AUDI AND TOLD THEM THIS APPEARS TO BE A RE OCCURRING ISSUE AND I THOUGH THEY SHOULD HANDLE THE FIX. THEY CALLED ME BACK AND SAID THEY WOULD SPLIT THE COST. I TOLD THEM TO PROCEED WITH THE REPAIR. THIS IS THE SECOND MAJOR PROBLEM WITH THE ENGINE, THE FIRST WAS "OIL CONSUMPTION" WHICH THEY REPAIRED FOR FREE. ANOTHER $7,000 FIX. I JUST SAW A EPISODE ON "NEWS 5 INVESTIGATES" CHICAGO DESCRIBING THE EXACT SAME ISSUE WITH A VW, AND ALSO LISTING AUDI'S 2011. ITS ON THEIR WEBSITE.
TAKATA RECALL ISSUED IN 2016 BUT MY DEALER HAS BEEN WAITING OVER 6 WEEKS FOR PARTS TO DO THE INTERIM REPAIR. AIR BAGS HAVE NEVER DEPLOYED BUT I REMAIN CONCERNED ABOUT POSSIBLE INJURY IN THE EVENT OF AN ACCIDENT

THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE AND WAS NOT ABLE TO CONFIRM WHEN THE PARTS WERE TO BECOME AVAILABLE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN.
MY VEHICLE WENT TO THE AUDI FIFE DEALERSHIP. ADVISED I NEEDED A NEW ENGINE. I TRIED TO TRADE IN THE VEHICLE AND I WAS ADVISED THAT MY CAR HAD -0-TRADE IN VALUE. THEY WOULDN'T ACCEPT ON A TRADE-IN. THEY SAID IT WAS WORTHLESS. I TOWED THE VEHICLE HOME AND I NOTICED ON MY PAPERWORK THAT THE DEALERSHIP COMPLETED "3" RECALLS WITHOUT MY PERMISSION OR KNOWLEDGE. I ASKED SERVICE WHY THEY COMPLETED THESE RECALLS ON A WORTHLESS VEHICLE THAT I HAD TO TOW HOME. A VEHICLE THE DEALERSHIP DIDN'T WANT. I FOUND OUT THAT THIS DEALERSHIP IS COLLECTING OVER $14,000 FOR RECALLS THAT I DIDN'T AUTHORIZE ON A VEHICLE THAT THEY SAID WAS WORTHLESS. I CAN'T EVEN VERIFY IF THE DEALERSHIP ACTUALLY DID THE RECALLS. THIS IS AN UNETHICAL PRACTICE FOR THIS DEALERSHIP TO TELL ME MY VEHICLE IS WORTHLESS WITHOUT AN ENGINE; WON'T ACCEPT ON A TRADE; TOWED MY VEHICLE HOME BUT THEY COLLECT $14,000.
TAKATA RECALL NHTSA RECALL NUMBER: 16V078 RECALL DATE: FEBRUARY 9, 2016 MANUFACTURER RECALL NUMBER: 69N1 SUMMARY: TAKATA HAS REPORTED THAT THE DRIVER FRONTAL AIRBAG INFLATOR COULD POTENTIALLY RUPTURE IF THE VEHICLE IS INVOLVED IN A CRASH WHERE THE FRONTAL AIRBAGS ARE DESIGNED TO DEPLOY. IN THE EVENT OF AN INFLATOR RUPTURE, METAL FRAGMENTS COULD PASS THROUGH THE AIRBAG CUSHION MATERIAL, WHICH MAY RESULT IN SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH TO VEHICLE OCCUPANTS. SAFETY RISK: AS REPORTED BY TAKATA: IN THE EVENT OF AN INFLATOR RUPTURE, METAL FRAGMENTS COULD PASS THROUGH THE AIRBAG CUSHION MATERIAL, WHICH MAY RESULT IN SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH TO VEHICLE OCCUPANTS. REMEDY: REPLACE DRIVER AIRBAG INFLATOR. RECALL STATUS: RECALL INCOMPLETE IT HAS NOW BEEN 17 MONTHS SINCE A RECALL WAS ISSUED. WE HAVE CONTACTED OUR AUDI DEALERSHIP ON 6 SEPARATE OCCASIONS TO SCHEDULE THE REPAIR. EACH TIME, WE HAVE BEEN INFORMED THAT THE PART IS NOT YET READY, AND THAT WE ARE "IN QUEUE FOR THE NEXT ROUND OF REPAIRS." IT IS UTTERLY UNACCEPTABLE THAT IN 17 MONTHS, THE RESPONSIBLE MANUFACTURERS HAVE NOT PRODUCED ENOUGH PARTS TO MEET THE DEMAND OF A POTENTIALLY FATAL FLAW, AND SERVICE PROVIDERS ARE UNABLE TO PROVIDE ANY TIMELINE FOR WHEN RECALL REQUESTS WILL BE FULFILLED! AS OF JULY 11,2017, AUDI IS STILL UNABLE TO PROVIDE US OF EVEN A DATE WHEN THIS RECALL CAN BE ADDRESSED.
WHILE TAKING A LEFT TURN ACROSS TRAFFIC, THE AUDI Q5 3.2 TRANSMISSION FAILED WHILE SHIFTING FROM 1ST TO 2ND GEAR. THE AUDI Q5 STALLED AND STOPPED AND WOULD NOT CONTINUE TO DRIVE. THE ENGINE SEEMED TO BE WORKING PROPERLY; HOWEVER, THE GEARS WOULD NOT ENGAGE AND THE CAR WOULD NOT DRIVE. THE AUDI Q5 DISPLAYED AN ERROR MESSAGE "GEARBOX MALFUNCTION; YOU CAN CONTINUE DRIVING (LIMITED FUNCTIONALITY)". AFTER REPEATEDLY RESTARTING THE AUDI Q5 AND ATTEMPTING TO SHIFT THE TRANSMISSION IT EVENTUALLY ENGAGED THE GEARS ALLOWING THE CAR TO BE DRIVEN OUT OF TRAFFIC. FROM THAT POINT ON, IT DISPLAYED THIS MESSAGE ALMOST CONTINUOUSLY, BEING THE WORST IN THE MORNING, ALSO LOSING REVERSE GEAR. I DO A LOT OF HWY DRIVING AND ALWAYS WORRY IF I WILL GET KILLED BY ONCOMING TRAFFIC AS IT HAS STALLED ON ME WHILE ENTERING THE HWY ALSO. AUDI HAS BEEN NOTHING BUT IGNORANT, PRETENDING MY CAR IS THE ONLY ONE WITH THIS PROBLEM AND NOT ADMITTING TO RECALLS FOR THIS PROBLEM IN OTHER COUNTRIES. THIS IS THEIR FACTORY PROBLEM WHICH THEY QUOTE 10K TO FIX, 2X CARS TRADE IN VALUE OR WHOLESALE VALUE.

I WAS TOLD THAT THE AIRBAG INFLATOR REPLACEMENT CAMPAIGN IS EXPECTED TO START NOT EARLIER THAN SEPTEMBER 2017. SINCE I AM LEAVING THE USA IN AUGUST 2017 AND I AM PLANNING TO BRING MY CAR TO MY COUNTRY BULGARIA, I WOULD LIKE TO ASK FOR PROFESSIONAL ADVICE WHAT SHOULD I DO. I WAS DRIVING MY CAR AROUND SOME BLIND CURVES WHEN I HEARD A CLANK KIND OF SOUND AND CLICKING AND THEN LOST POWER FORTUNATELY I WAS CLOSE ENOUGH I COASTED HOME. I WAS VERY LUCKY. I COULD NOT GET THE ENGINE TO START AND HAD IT TOWED TO THE AUDI DEALER HE SAID, ENGINE NO START NO POWER: FOUND ENGINE CRANKS WITHOUT COMPRESSION. FOUND TIMING CHAIN STRETCHED AND JUMPED TIMING. REMOVED AND INSPECTED VALVES AND FOUND ALL VALVES TO BE BENT. AT THIS TIME WE NEED TO REPLACE THE CYLINDER HEAD AND TIMING CHAIN AND RELATED PARTS. PARTS: $4800 LABOR: $4835 TOTAL: $9635.00 REGARDS, I BELIEVE THIS IS A PROBLEM THAT ACTUALLY IS SO COMMON THAT SEVERAL MECHANICS HAVE WEBSITES ON HOW TO PROTECT YOUR CHAIN FROM DOING THIS. I OF COURSE HAD NO IDEA ABOUT ANY OF THIS BEFORE...BECAUSE NO ONE TOLD ME IT WAS AN ISSUE!!!! OR I WOULD HAVE DONE THE PREVENTATIVE CARE. ALSO, I JUST READ THEY ARE DOING A CLASS ACTION SUIT WITH THIS IN NEW JERSEY. I CAN TELL YOU I AM FEELING VERY NERVOUS ABOUT DRIVING MY AUDI AGAIN!!! I HAVE NO CONFIDENCE IN THESE CHAINS!
MY AUDI Q5 2011 CHECK ENGINE AND EPC LIGHT CONTINUE TO LIGHT UP MY DASH, VEHICLE HAS BEEN DIAGNOSED BY THE DEALERSHIP NOT ONCE NOT TWICE BUT MORE THAN THREE TIMES. CONTINUES TO HAVE THE SAME AND SIMILAR MISFIRES AND ACTUALLY SEEMS TO BE GETTING HOTTER THAN USUAL, THE ENGINE. I'VE SEEN SEVERAL COMPLAINTS ABOUT RECALLS ON THE COOLANT PUMP,TIMING CHAIN, FUEL PUMP FLANGE, FUEL PUMP, WIRING SENSORS, EPC LIGHT BALL JOINTS, AND THE LIST GOES ON. WHAT HAS ME MOSTLY CONCERN IS THE RECALLS FOR ALL THE FUEL SYSTEM COMPONENTS. FOR EXAMPLE EMISSION CONTROL DEVICES LIKE THE EGR FUEL CAP FUEL GAUGE SENDER, FEEL INJECTION SYSTEM FUEL LEAKS STALLING AND HESITATION , HAVE YOU BEEN SEEING ONE OR ACTUALLY A COUPLE WHERE A FIRE WAS INITIATED WHILE PEOPLE WERE IN THE CAR . THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY CONCERN FOR ME AND MY FAMILY WHO DRIVES THE CAR PRACTICALLY EVERY DAY IT SEEMS THAT EVEN DOOR CAR IS OUT OF WARRANTY AUDI SHOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL THESE REPAIRS AND RECALLS AND AND MAKE IT RIGHT ON THEIR PART . IF WE WOULD'VE KNOWN THIS CAR WAS GOING TO GIVE US THAT MUCH TROUBLE AFTER BUYING IT FROM A CERTIFIED DEALER, WE WOULD'VE NEVER EVEN THOUGHT OR IMAGINED OF DRIVING A LEMON . AFTER RUNNING ERRANDS I STARTED MY AUDI Q5. THE ENGINE IMMEDIATELY BEGAN TO IDLE HARD. NO WARNING LIGHTS ECT., BUT ENOUGH FOR CONCERN. DROVE IT IMMEDIATELY TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC JUST BLOCKS AWAY. IT HAS BEEN DETERMINED THAT THE TENSIONER ON THE TIMING CHAIN BROKE CAUSING CATASTROPHIC ENGINE FAILURE. I HAVE MAINTAINED THE CAR METICULOUSLY, AND AM BESIDE MYSELF OVER THIS. I HAVE SINCE LEARNED THAT THIS HAS BEEN A PROBLEM FOR MULTIPLE PEOPLE AND THERE IS CURRENTLY A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT FILED FILED LAST SPRING IN NEW JERSEY FOR THIS SPECIFIC ISSUE. MY ENGINE WAS REBUILT AS A RESULT OF THE RECALL TWO YEARS AGO ON AN OIL CONSUMPTION ISSUE. I AM BEING TOLD IT WILL COST ME $13,000 FOR A NEW ENGINE, BUT IS SEEMS THAT THIS WAS AN EXISTING PROBLEM THAT AUDI KEPT FROM ITS CUSTOMERS.
I AM EMAILING THIS LETTER AND HOPEFULLY SOMEONE WILL RESPOND TO MY REQUEST OF REOPENING MY CLAIM REGARDING MY 2011 AUDI Q5'S RECENT AND PATTERN LIKE PROBLEMS. HOPEFULLY THE REFERENCE NUMBER ABOVE SHOWS MY CARS HISTORY AND EXPLAINS HOW IT'S ALL GOTTEN TO ME ADDRESSING THE PROBLEM AGAIN. AROUND THAT TIME WAS WHEN WE WERE HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE AUDI SERVICE DEPT IN CHANDLER AZ, THE FACT THAT WE WERE LIED TO BY THE SUPERVISOR WHEN HE STATED THAT CHANGING THE WIRING WAS PART OF THE RECALL FOR THE FUEL PUMP AND FUEL FLANGE, WHEN IN FACT IT WAS NOT. TWO OF THE THREE MAIN COMPONENTS FOR OUR FUEL INJECTION SYSTEM HAVE BEEN REPLACED, THE MOST IMPORTANT THE FUEL PUMP AND THE REGULATOR, THREE TIMES WE TOOK IT BACK BECAUSE THEY NEVER GOT IT RIGHT THE FIRST TIME. THAT IS NOT INCLUDING ALL THE OTHERS THINGS THAT HAVE BEEN CHANGED, ELECTRICAL SYSTEM WIRING, AND MAJOR PARTS OF THE ENGINE. RECENTLY WE TOOK OUR AUDI TO THE SERVICE DEPT IN SCOTTSDALE AZ , FOR THE RECALL OF THE AIR CANISTER AND ALSO BECAUSE IT WAS BEGINNING TO SMELL LIKE GAS AGAIN AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT TURNED ON AND TROUBLE WITH THE STARTUP OF OUR VEHICLE. HAD IT CHECKEDOUT BY A CERTIFIED MECHANIC, WHICH TOLD ME IT WAS THE ALTERNATOR. I HAD JUST BOUGHT A BRAND NEW GEL BATTERY AT AUTOZONE, DIDNT WANT THE BAD ALTERNATOR TO DRAIN MY NEW BATTERY SO SINCE I KNEW IT HAD BEEN REPLACED BEFORE BY AUDI IN CHANDLER, I TOLD THE SERVICE ADVISOR THAT IT WAS BAD, AND IF HE COULD PLEASE CHECK AND REPLACE. BEFORE THAT I ALSO HAD IT RECHECKED AT AUTOZONE AND ORIELLYS AND THEY TOLD ME THE SAME THING, BAD ALTERNATOR....HOPEFULLY YOU SEE WHERE I'M GETTING AT. I'M TRYING TO BE AS DETAIL AS POSSIBLE, SO SORRY FOR THE LENGTH OF THIS LETTER. TO NO SURPRISE OF MINE THE SERVICE ADVISOR CALLS ME BACK AND TELLS ME THAT MY FUEL INJECTORS ARE GOING BAD, WHATTT
TAKATA RECALL I HAVE HAD A RECALL FOR THE AIRBAG ON MY VEHICLE SINCE FEB 2016. I HAVE BEEN CALLING AUDI DEALERSHIPS SINCE OCTOBER 2016 TO GET THE SERVICE COMPLETE BUT WAS INITIALLY TOLD IT WOULD BE AVAILABLE BY END OF 2016. IT IS NOW MID-MARCH 2017 AND HAVING JUST SPOKEN TO AUDI, THEY ARE SAYING THERE ARE NO PARTS AVAILABLE YET. THEY HAVE SAID THIS SAFETY ISSUE IS MORE APPLICABLE TO HOT-HUMID STATES AND CALIFORNIA IS NOT ONE OF THEM. HOWEVER, I DO DRIVE TO OTHER HOT-HUMID STATES FREQUENTLY AND THIS IS A MAJOR CAUSE FOR CONCERN.
WE HAVE BEEN NOTIFIED BY AUDI USA THAT THE AIRBAGS ON OUR CAR MIGHT BE DANGEROUS. THEY HAVE NOT COME UP WITH A REPLACEMENT NOR REPLACEMENT DATE. WE ARE IN THE PROCESS OF SELLING THE CAR AND SEE THAT THE VALUE OF THE CAR IS IMPAIRED IF THIS RECALL IS NOT RECTIFIES. WHAT ARE OUR OPTIONS HERE?
THIS AIRBAG RECALL WAS ISSUED A YEAR AGO AND NO REMEDY HAS BEEN MADE AVAILABLE WHILE MORE PEOPLE HAVE CONTINUED TO DIE. AN IMMEDIATE SOLUTION NEEDS TO BE MADE AVAILABLE FOR MYSELF AND OTHERS SO THAT NO MORE LIVES ARE SENSELESSLY LOST
I HAVE BEEN TREATED SO BADLY THAT I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER AUDI. THE MANAGER HAS TERRIBLE LEADERSHIP OF THE DEALERSHIP AND MY SERVICE EXPERIENCE WAS A ABSOLUTE DISASTER. I HAVE BEEN A LOYAL CUSTOMER SINCE I PURCHASED BY Q5 (NEVER MISSED A SERVICE APPOINTMENT AND ALWAYS DID IT AT THE DEALERSHIP). THE ENGINE HAS LEAKED OIL THE ENTIRE TIME. 3 YEARS AGO AUDI REPLACED THE PISTONS DUE TO A DESIGN DEFECT (THEY PAID FOR IT). 4 DAYS BEFORE MY REGULARLY SCHEDULED SERVICE APPOINTMENT MY ENGINE DIED WHILE DRIVING IT HOME FROM WORK THROUGH A RESIDENTIAL NEIGHBORHOOD. I HAD A HALF-MILE WARNING SOMETHING WAS WRONG WHEN THE ENGINE STARTED SPUTTERING. IF I DID NOT HAVE MY FOOT ON THE GAS, THE ENGINE WOULD STALL. WHEN I GOT IT INTO MY DRIVEWAY AND TURNED IT OFF IT WOULD NOT RESTART. AFTER 4-5 ATTEMPTS, THE ENGINE WOULD NOT TURNOVER. SO I HAD TO TOW MY CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR ASSESSMENT. THE NEXT DAY THEY TELL ME ENGINE CAR WAS WORTHLESS AND THAT I MUST PUT IN A NEW ENGINE FOR $11,000. THEY SAID THEY HAVE SEEN ENGINES FAIL AROUND 105,000. MINE HAS 107,000. I ASKED WHY THEY DID NOT ALERT ME TO THIS RISK AS I WOULD HAVE BROUGHT THE CAR IN SOONER. I ARGUED BACK UNTIL THEY REDUCED THE PRICE TO $6,300 FOR NEW ENGINE ON A 6 YEAR OLD CAR, AND THEY WOULD OFFER ME $8,500 TO TRADE IT IN ON A NEW ONE. I DO NOT HAVE $6,300 TO DO INVEST. BESIDES, THE ENGINE IN THE Q5 HAS HAD ISSUES SINCE I PURCHASED IT AS A PRE-CERTIFIED VEHICLE IN 2011. I AM A SINGLE MOM, AND I HAVE HAD TO RENT A CAR ON MY OWN FOR THE LAST 2 WEEKS, WHILE THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT "ASSESSED" THE ENGINE ISSUE. TODAY I FINALLY GAVE UP AND I ARRANGED FOR MY Q5 TO BE TOWED TO A SALVAGE YARD. IF AUDI WOULD HAVE WORKED WITH ME ON ALERTING ME TO POSSIBLE ENGINE FAILURE ISSUE AT 105,000 MILES; SUGGESTED FIXING MY CAR SOONER; OFFERING ME A LOANER DURING THIS PROCESS; OR A BETTER TRADE IN VALUE -- I WOULD HAVE BOUGHT ANOTHER AUDI.

WE WERE TRANSFERRED FROM CHICAGO TO GERMANY AT THE END OF 2014 AND AS THE AUDI RECALL FOR THE AIRBAG AND FUEL FLANGE WERE NOW AVAILABLE WE SCHEDULED THE VEHICLE FOR SERVICE ON 11/12 JAN 2017. THE DEALER HAD THE RECALLS IN THE SYSTEM AND PRINTED THEM OUT AS A SERVICE ORDER FOR REPAIR. ON 12TH JANUARY THE DEALER CALLED AND SAID AUDI AG WOULD NOT AUTHORIZE THE REPAIRS. I CALLED AGAIN TODAY 13 FEB 2017 AND THE DEALERS SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE DANIEL CARR SAID THEY WOULD NOT AUTHORIZE AND THAT THE DEALER HAS NO WAY OF ORDERING THE PARTS WITHOUT AUDI AG AND THAT I SHOULD CONTACT AN AMERICAN DEALERSHIP IN THE US.
ITS BEEN OVER A YEAR I AM AWARE OF THE RECALL, I HAVE BEEN SERVICED SEVERAL TIMES AT 2 DIFFERENT DEALERS BOTH STATE THAT THEY DO NOT HAVE PARTS TO COMPLETE THIS RECALL. IN JANUARY 2017 I WAS IN A HEAD ON COLLISION AND THE AIR BAG DID NOT DEPLOY! I WAS TOLD BY THE LAST DEALER DURING 2 OTHER RECALLS THAT NJ WILL HAVE SUPPLIES COME THIS FALL! I WOULD LIKE THIS RECALL COMPLETED ASAP AS ITS BEEN OVER A YEAR! PLUS HAVING BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT HEAD ON ITS NOT TO REASSURING KNOWING THE AIRBAG WILL NOT DEPLOY!

AS OF TODAY, SEPTEMBER 19, 2016 NO REMEDY HAD BEEN PROVIDED BY AUDI. WHEN WE DISCUSSED OPTIONS WITH THE DEALERSHIP WHERE WE BOUGHT THE VEHICLE, AUDI BOULDER, THEY DESCRIBED THE CAR AS A "DEATH TRAP". THEIR ONLY SOLUTION WAS FOR US TO BUY A NEW CAR FROM THEM. WE DO NOT FEEL SAFE DRIVING THIS CAR UNTIL THE SITUATION IS RESOLVED AND WILL BE EXPLORING ALL OPTIONS TO GET THIS MATTER RESOLVED.

THE INDOOR ODOR OF THE CAR SMELLED STRONG OF GAS. THE AREA AROUND OR UNDER THE CAR WAS COMPLETELY DRY. THE SMELL WAS PREVALENT WHILE MOVING OR PARKED. THE GAS TANK WAS DRY AT THE NOZZLE. I DRIVE MY FAMILY IN THE CAR, INCLUDING MY GRANDCHILDREN. I WAS CONCERNED FOR OUR SAFETY SO HAD MY LOCAL MECHANIC EVALUATE. THEY DISCOVERED A PIN HOLE LEAK IN THE FUEL PUMP UNDER THE REAR SEAT AND GAS WAS ALL OVER THE GAS TANK. ANY SPARK WOULD HAVE SET THE CAR IN FLAMES AND POSSIBLE EXPLOSION GIVEN THE LOCATION OF THE LEAK. THIS REPAIR COST $1131. THIS OBVIOUS FLAW SHOULD BE IDENTIFIED BY AUDI AND A RECALL SHOULD BE IN PLACE TO REPLACE THIS DEFECTIVE PART.
