THE CONTACT CALLED HANSEL BMW OF SANTA ROSA (2925 CORBY AVE, SANTA ROSA, CA), BUT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE IN THE CITY AND MAKING A LEFT TURN, THE AIR BAG SENSOR INDICATOR ILLUMINATED, WHICH INDICATES A POSSIBLE FAILURE WITH THE AIR BAGS.
VERY LOUD NOISE (FAN NOISE) COMING FROM THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT WHEN THE CAR WAS STARTED FROM A COLD START. CAR IS DRIVE-ABLE BUT SEEMED TO LOSE SOME POWER. THE NOISE MAY OR MAY NOT COME BACK DURING THE NEXT START. A FEW SIMPLE SEARCHES ON GOOGLE AND FROM VARIOUS BMW FORUMS INDICATED THAT IT'S A VERY COMMON PROBLEM FOR THE 2006 BMW 330I E90 SEDANS AND PROBLEM SEEM TO BE THE FAULTY WATER PUMP AND FAULTY THERMOSTAT. AS THERE ARE NO WARNING LIGHT NOR ANY TELL SIGNS, THE CAR COULD GO FROM FULL PERFORMANCE ON THE FREEWAY TO LIMP MODE (FORCEFUL SLOW-DOWN MODE) IN THE MATTER OF A FEW SECONDS DUE TO OVERHEATING OF THE WATER PUMP, AND IT COULD BE VERY DANGEROUS. THE HIDDEN ERROR CODES MAY BE DISCOVERED WITH A VEHICLE SPECIFIC SCANNING TOOL BUT THERE IS NO WARNING LIGHT OR ERROR LIGHT WHATSOEVER TO WARN THE OWNER UNLESS THE CAR IS BROUGHT IN TO THE SHOP AND BEING SCANNED WITH THE PROPER SCANNING TOOL. BUT IF THERE IS NO WARNING/ERROR LIGHT, NO ONE WOULD HAVE THOUGHT TO BRING THE CAR IN FOR SCANNING.
FRONT PASSENGER AIRBAG TURNS OFF AND ON AT NO PRESCRIBED INTERVAL. THE WARNING LIGHT FLICKERS OFTEN WHICH IS A CONCERN SINCE THE AIRBAG CAN TURN OFF WHEN IT IS ACTUALLY NEEDED IN THE EVENT OF A CRASH. THIS HAPPENS WHEN STATIONARY OR DRIVING - NO PRESCRIBED INTERVAL HAS BEEN NOTED AND WAS FIRST NOTICED EARLY THIS SPRING, MARCH OR APRIL 2018 WITH ABOUT 110,000 MILES ON THE VEHICLE.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO BMW OF BLOOMFIELD (425 BLOOMFIELD AVE, BLOOMFIELD, NJ 07003) AND REPAIRED. WHEN THE CONTACT RETRIEVED THE VEHICLE, HE NOTICED A BURNING ODOR AND SMOKE THROUGHOUT THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT PARKED THE VEHICLE, LIFTED THE HOOD, AND NOTICED SMOKE COMING FROM UNDER THE ENGINE COOLANT AND EXPANSION. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC AND WAS ADVISED TO TAKE THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALER. THE CONTACT THEN CALLED BMW OF BLOOMFIELD AT (973) 233-5147 WHERE THE DEALER HIM TO BRING THE VEHICLE BACK FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING AT HIS EXPENSE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 195,000.
LETTER FROM CONSUMER REGARDING PUBLIC SAFETY CONCERN THAT NEEDS TO BE IMMEDIATELY ADDRESSED (RECALL 17-V; POSITIVE CRANKCASE VENTILATION (PCV) VALVE HEATER). *AS
I BELIEVE THE SEAT SENSOR IN MY 2006 BMW 325I FRONT PASSENGER SEAT IS FAULTY. THE MAJORITY OF THE TIME, THE LIGHT COMES ON THAT SHOWS THAT MY FRONT PASSENGER AIRBAG IS NOT ON AND ALSO THAT THE PASSENGER IS NOT BUCKLED, WHETHER THEY ARE BUCKLED, OR THERE ISN'T A PASSENGER IN THAT SEAT AT ALL. WHETHER I AM STATIONARY OR DRIVING/MOVING AT ANY SPEED, THOSE WARNING LIGHTS ARE ON, AND WILL INTERMITTENTLY GO OFF FOR SHORT PERIODS OF TIME, THEN THEY COME BACK ON AGAIN. I AM IN A CARPOOL SO I FREQUENTLY AM THE DRIVER AND I HAVE SOMEONE IN THAT FRONT PASSENGER SEAT. I AM CONCERNED THAT IF IN AN ACCIDENT, THE AIRBAG WILL NOT DEPLOY CAUSING INJURIES IN THE CASE OF AN ACCIDENT. NEWER MODELS OF THE SAME CAR HAVE THIS SEAT SENSOR ON RECALL, SO THE 2006 SHOULD ALSO BE RECALLED.
THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED IN A PARKING LOT ON 1-21-18, WHEN IT CAUGHT FIRE
OIL KEEP LEAKING OUT OF TRAINING. IT WAS FIXED TWICE SO FAR. BACK BRAKE LINE KEEPS BREAKING WHEN YOU DRIVE IN SNOW.

FIRE HAZARD: ADAPTIVE HEADLIGHT CONTROLLER CAR IN MOTION, HEAVY RAIN, 'ROAD FOLLOWING HEADLIGHT' STOPPED WORKING (I.E., HEADLIGHT STILL ILLUMINATING, BUT WOULD NOT SWIVEL TO FOLLOW DIRECTION OF TURNS ANYMORE). UPON LATER INSPECTION, OBD REPORTED ISTA CODES 0932C: FRM ACL FAULTY; 009CBD; FRM COMMUNICATION WITH STEP MOTOR LEFT DISRUPTED; 009CBE: FRM COMMUNICATION WITH STEP MOTOR RIGTH DISRUPTED DURING REPLACEMENT OF FAULTY MODULE (P/N 63127189312), EVIDENCE OF PAST ELECTRICAL FIRE FOUND: STRONG BURNT ELECTRICAL INSULATOR SMELL, WIRE HARNESS IN THE HEADLIGHT HOUSING MOLTEN, EXTENSIVE FIRE DAMAGE TO BOTH THE MODULE PCB AND THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTOR BETWEEN THE MODULE AND THE HEADLIGHT HOUSING.
WHILE IN DRIVE AT AN IDLE, VEHICLE WILL TRY TO ACCELERATE ON ITS OWN. RPMS GOT HIGH AND WITH FOOT ON THE BRAKE IT WAS STILL PUSHING THE VEHICLE FORWARD. PUT THE CAR IN TO NEUTRAL AND TAPPED ON THE GAS PEDAL. RPMS DROPPED BACK DOWN AND CAR IDLED NORMALLY.
HEADLIGHTS FAILING WHILE DRIVING. BMW USED POOR INSULATION INSIDE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLIES THAT DEGRADE OVERTIME AND FAIL CAUSING SIGNIFICANT SAFETY HAZARD.
TAKATA RECALL - I'VE CALLED MULTIPLE TIMES IN THE PAST YEAR AND STOPPED BY THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP TO GET MY NAME ON THE LIST ABOUT 2 MONTHS AGO. I CAN NOT GET AN APPOINTMENT TO REPLACE MY AIR BAG.

I RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICED IN DECEMBER 2017 FROM BMW STATING THAT THERE WAS A DANGER THAT THE CAR COULD CATCH FIRE. 6 MONTHS LATER I AM STILL WAITING. IT WAS RECOMMENDED NOT TO PARK IN THE GARAGE UNTIL REPAIRED.
TAKATA RECALL: I JUST RECEIVED A NOTICE TODAY 28 DEC 17 THAT MY VEHICLE NEEDS TO BE RECALLED FOR THE FOLLOWING ISSUES THE DRIVER SIDE AIR BAG AND THE BLOWER MOTOR WIRING SYSTEM.
ELECTRICAL RECALL: ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS WE HAVE PURCHASED, AND FIXED THE BMW REGULATOR ON OUR 2006 BMW 325I . AS OF LATE THE PASSENGER WINDOW ON THE RIGHT SIDE HAS BECOME JAMMED AND STUCK AND STARTED ROLLING DOWN ON ITS OWN. IN ADDITION , THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE VIEW MIRRORS HAVE ALSO INCURRED THE SAME ISSUE. ALONG WITH THE PASSENGER DOOR THAT WILL NO LONGER OPEN , WITHOUT HAVE TO MANUALLY UNLOCK, AND LOCK ONCE EXITING THE VEHICLE. I AM AFRAID SOMETHING ELSE WITH THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM WILL OCCUR. SAFETY IS EVERYTHING, ESPECIALLY WITH A SECOND BABY ON THE WAY. SO HERE WE HAVE A WINDOW THAT IS NOT ROLLING UP AT ALL. I'M UNSURE IF I SHOWED ALLOW MORE WORK TO BE DONE , DUE TO THE FEAR OF HAVING THE SAME ISSUE OCCUR REPEATEDLY. THANKS IN ADVANCE ! I LOOK FORWARD TO A RESPONSE .
DOOR ACTUATOR FAILURE. DRIVER SIDE DOOR WILL NOT OPEN FROM OUTSIDE UNLESS YOU USE THE PHYSICAL KEY, WILL NOT OPEN FROM INSIDE ONCE IT LOCKS AND YOU MUST CLIMB OVER SEAT TO EXIT BACK OR PASSENGER DOORS. SOMETIMES DOOR WILL UNLOCK IF YOU ROLL DOWN THE WINDOW AND USE THE KEY ON THE OUTSIDE LOCK BUT USUALLY THAT DOES NOT WORK. SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE, YOU COULD BE TRAPPED INSIDE THE CAR IN AN EMERGENCY. DOORS LOCK AUTOMATICALLY AT 5 MPH OR SO AND YOU ARE LOCKED INSIDE WITH A HANDLE THAT DOES NOT WORK.

I HAVE REPLACED THE CLUTCH, TRANSMISSION, FUEL PUMP, SPARK PLUGS, BATTERY, AND ALTERNATOR AND MY CAR STILL WON'T RUN. ITS BEEN PARKED FOR A YEAR NOW WITH THE EXCEPTION OF 15 DAYS.

DOORS GET LOCKED AND CAN NOT BE OPENED FROM INSIDE. ONCE THE DOORS ARE LOCKED THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR CAN NOT BE OPENED FROM INSIDE OR OUTSIDE WITH REMOTE KEY BUTTONS. IF YOU ARE INSIDE THE CAR ONLY WAY TO GET OUT IS BREAK THE WINDOW OR LOWER THE WINDOW AND THEN GET OUT. EXACTLY SAME THING HAPPENED TO MY FRIEND IN HIS FORD LINCOLN WHEN THEY WERE TRAPPED INSIDE AFTER AN ACCIDENT ,CAR CAUGHT FIRE AND HE, HIS WIFE AND 12 YEAR OLD SON WERE ALL BURNT ALIVE. WE RAISED THE OTHER SON WHO WAS NOT IN THAT DEADLY CAR. THIS BMW 315I CAR IS TOTALLY UNSAFE AND THE PROBLEM IS KNOWN TO THEM BUT THERE WAS NO RECALL TO FIX THIS FAULTY, UNSAFE CAR. I NOTICED THE PROBLEM WHEN THE CAR WAS PARKED IN A PARKING LOT. I HAD TO TAKE OUT THE HARD KEY FROM THE REMOTE UNIT AND OPENED THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR BUT COULD NOT OPEN OTHER THREE DOORS FROM INSIDE OR FROM REMOTE UNIT. NOW THE CAR IS WITH BMW OF FREMONT DEALERSHIP IN 44175 AUTO MALL CIR ,FREMONT, CALIFORNIA 510-659-7902
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 BMW 325I. WHILE DRIVING AT 65 MPH, THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE WAS REAR ENDED BY ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE CONTACT PULLED THE VEHICLE OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND THE OTHER VEHICLE FLED THE SCENE. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED BACK INJURIES, WHICH DID NOT REQUIRE MEDICAL ATTENTION. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE. THE DEALER (SOUTH MOTORS BMW, 16215 S DIXIE HWY, MIAMI, FL 33157) DIAGNOSED THAT THE VEHICLE HAD A FAULTY AIR BAG SEAT SENSOR. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE VEHICLE DID NOT HAVE A RECALL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS UNABLE TO PROVIDE ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 155,000.
TAKATA RECALL. I RECEIVED A NOTICE IN THE MAIL FROM TK HOLDINGS INC. INFORMING ME OF A RECALL FOR THE VEHICLE. I WENT TO AIRBAGRECALL.COM AND FOUND OUT THAT THERE IS ALSO A RECALL FOR THE BLOWER MOTOR WIRING. I CALLED A BMW DEALERSHIP IN IRVINE AND THEY SAID THAT THEY CAN'T HELP ME BECAUSE IT DOESN'T SHOW UP ON THEIR SYSTEM.
BLOWER MOTOR RECALL, CALLED BMW STEVEN CREEK DEALER, SAN JOSE, CA, NO PARTS AND NO SCHEDULE TO FIX, CALLED CUSTOMERRELATIONS@BMWUSA.COM OR AT 1-800-525-7417. THE ANSWER IS THEY DON'T KNOW THE SCHEDULE AND NO REMEDY TO REPAIR. BMW IS VERY PASSIVE ON THIS RECALL. DO NOT WANT TO GIVE THE BMW OWNER A SCHEDULE WHEN CAN THEY SERVICE THE RECALL REPAIR.
PASSENGER RESTRAINT SYSTEM - MALFUNCTION INDICATOR LIGHT JUST CAME ON. FOUND NUMEROUS ARTICLES ON INTERNET AND NHTSA RECALLS FOR "FRONT PASSENGER SEAT OCCUPANT DETECTION MAT DEFECT". I CONTACTED BMW AND WAS ADVISED THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL FOR MY VIN, HOWEVER, THE PROBLEM APPEARS TO BE IDENTICAL TO THE NUMEROUS OTHER COMPLAINTS.
THE CENTER CONSOLE IS CONTINUING TO OVERHEAT. IT SPREADS TO THE CUP HOLDERS AND OUTWARD AS WELL. GETS VERY HOT! HAPPENS WHEN CAR IS ON OR WHEN DRIVING

BMW ISSUED A RECALL IN OCT 2017 FOR A POTENTIAL FIRE HAZARD BUT IN JULY 2018 STILL SAY THEY DO NOT HAVE A REMEDY AVAILABLE SO I CAN NOT PUT MY DAUGHTER IN A VEHICLE THAT HAS A POTENTIAL FIRE HAZARD AND BMW HAS NOT OFFERED A RENTAL UNTIL THE REPAIR CAN BE MADE.

BLOWER MOTOR WIRING: THIS RECALL INVOLVES THE WIRING FOR THE SYSTEM, KNOWN AS THE BLOWER-MOTOR, THAT CONTROLS AIR FLOW FOR THE HEATING AND AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM. OVER TIME, THE CONNECTION BETWEEN THE WIRING AND THIS SYSTEM COULD DETERIORATE AND, IN RARE CASES, COULD LEAD TO OVERHEATING.

DRIVER'S AIRBAG MODULE RECALL REPLACEMENT KEEPS GETTING POSTPONED FOR A FUTURE DATE FROM BMW OF HENDERSON DEAL
BMW CONTINUES TO DRAG ITS FEET ON FIXING RECALL. I HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO DRIVE MY VEHICLE FOR OVER 6 MONTHS NOW. CALLED DEALER IN CHARLOTTE NC (HENDRICK BMW ON E. INDEPENDENCE BOULEVARD) MULTIPLE TIMES AND EACH TIME THEY EITHER DO NOT HAVE THE PART OR NEED TO ORDER IT.
FRONT PASSENGER SIDE DOOR LOCK MALFUNCTION. WILL NOT UNLOCK AND UNABLE TO OPEN THE DOOR. REAR DRIVER SIDE DOOR LOCK MALFUNCTION WILL NOT UNLOCK AND UNABLE TO OPEN THE DOOR. WE HAVE THREE CHILDREN UNDER 7 YEARS OLD AND THIS IS VERY CONCERNING. OUR CHILDREN WILL NOT BE ABLE TO EXIT THE CAR IN CASE OF AN EMERGENCY THROUGH THE REAR DRIVER SIDE DOOR. THE MALFUNCTION WAS NOT A RESULT OF ANY DAMAGE DONE TO THE CAR AND IT HAPPENED WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY.
