Open the full vehicle complaint log (all categories)WHILE DRIVING ON TURNPIKE HEADING SOUTH. THE BMW LIGHT CAME ON TRANSMISSION FAULT. REDUCE ACCELERATION AND HAVE YOUR CAR CHECKED BY THE NEAREST BMW. NOW THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR ABOUT 4-MONTH'S. BMW SERVICE HAS CHANGED THE BALL JOINT GOING INTO TRANSMISSION AND STATED THIS WAS THE ISSUE. THE CAR WOULD NOT DRIVE OVER 40MPH WITH ACCELERATION VERY HIGH. PULLED OVER AND WAITED FOR 5-MINUTES. CAR THEN CRANKED AND LIGHT WAS STILL ON BUT DISAPPEARED AFTER 1-2 MINUTES. THIS EVENT KEEPS HAPPENING. GRANT IT MY CAR IS JUST OVER 53K MILES AND HAS NEVER BEEN LATE FOR ANY SERVICE OR RECALL. CAR HAS BEEN GARAGED, OIL CHANGED REGULAR AS STATED BY BMW. I BELIEVE THIS IS A DEFECT IN THE BMW BASED ON WHAT I HAVE BEEN READING. I THINK BMW SHOULD STEP UP TO PLATE AND FIX THE TRANSMISSION ISSUE IT HAS HAVING FROM THESE $80K CARS. *TR
Complaints are unverified consumer reports submitted to NHTSA. A high complaint count may reflect vehicle popularity, not defect severity. Data sourced from NHTSA public records.
