#5 & 6 FUEL INJECTORS HAD TO BE REPLACED IN JULY 2015. #5 FUEL INJECTOR HAD TO BE REPLACED AGAIN IN JULY 2016. SAME MECHANIC PERFORMED BOTH REPAIRS. HE ADVISED AND GAVE ME A "TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN" THAT DESCRIBED FUEL INJECTOR FAULTS AND FACTORY COVERED REPAIRS. - PLEASE ADVISE ME OF THIS- THERE IS NO OUTSTANDING RECALL THAT I CAN FIND FOR THIS.

BMW OF DENVER DOWNTOWN (1040 S COLORADO BLVD, DENVER, CO) DIAGNOSED THAT THE DRIVESHAFT WAS DEFECTIVE AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 68,247.

TAKATA RECALL THIS IS TAKING WAY LONGER THAN I WOULD EVER THINK AND I FEAR THE RISK OF INJURY OR DEATH. I CAN'T BELIEVE IT TAKES THIS LONG FOR PROPER OR NEW PARTS TO ARRIVE FOR REMEDY. CAN WE DISABLE THEM FROM EVER WORKING SO WE LIMIT RISK OF FAULTY BAGS?
TAKATA RECALL I HAVE RECEIVED A LETTER IN MAY 2016 TO CONTACT THE LOCAL BMW DEALERSHIP TO SET UP AN APPOINTMENT TO BRING IN THE BMW FOR AN INTERIM REPLACEMENT OF THE AIR BAGS. ONCE I ARRIVED I SHOWED THEM THE LETTER AND THEY SAID THEY HAD NO REPLACEMENTS AND TRIED SELLING OTHER SERVICES ETC. NOW I HAVE RECEIVED ANOTHER LETTER DATED JULY 2016 WARNING US OF THE PASSENGERS FRONT AIR BAG AND IT WILL BE REPLACED ONCE AVAILABLE. WE STILL HAVE A UN SAFE CAR WILL NO SOLUTION. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 BMW X5. WHILE DRIVING 65 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE STEERING WHEEL BECAME DIFFICULT TO TURN AND THE GEAR SELECTOR SHIFTED FROM THE DRIVE POSITION TO THE NEUTRAL POSITION. AFTERWARDS, THE ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT COULD NOT RESTART THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A LOCAL MECHANIC, BUT WAS NOT ABLE TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000.

THE DEALER STATED THAT THE PARTS WERE UNAVAILABLE FOR MONTHS TO RECEIVE THE TWO AIR BAG RECALLS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS SLOW TO PICK UP SPEED AND THE ENGINE WAS IDLING ROUGHLY. IN ADDITION, THE ENGINE WARNING INDICATOR RANDOMLY ILLUMINATED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE CONDITION AND SUGGESTED THAT THE VEHICLE BE TAKEN TO A DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE CONTACT WAS WAITING TO DETERMINE A SOLUTION FROM THE MANUFACTURER. THE DEALER INDICATED THAT ADDITIONAL REPAIRS MAY BE REQUIRED. THE CONTACT FELT AS IF THE REMEDY FAILED TO PROVIDE A SOLUTION FOR THE CURRENT CONDITION. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE. TAKATA RECALL, IN 3/2016, BMW SENT ME A NOTICE TO REPLACE DRIVER'S FRONT AIR BAG MODULE, HOWEVER UNTIL NOW, BMW DOES NOTHING. IN DECEMBER 2016, BMW SENT ME A NOTICE TO REPLACE IN-TANK FUEL PUMP BECAUSE MY BMW SMELLS GAS BADLY WHEN PARKING AND DRIVING. HOWEVER UNTIL NOW, AGAIN BMW DOES NOTHING. I APPRECIATE YOUR CONSIDERATION FOR SAFETY.
THIS VEHICLE HAS HAD THREE OPEN RECALLS FOR EXTENSIVE PERIODS OF TIME, THERE IS NO END DATE TO WHEN BMW IS PROMISING TO COMPLETE THE WORK BY, AND THE VEHICLE IS UNSELLABLE AS A RESULT. FOR OVER 18 MONTHS, THERE HAS BEEN A DRIVE AIR BAG RECALL OPEN AND OUTSTANDING WITH NO END DATE. A SECOND AIR BAG RECALL HAS BEEN OPEN FOR AROUND A YEAR, AGAIN WITH NO END DATE. A THIRD RECALL RELATES TO THE FUEL SYSTEM, AND AGAIN THERE IS NO END DATE PROVIDED BY BMW. I HAVE RAISED A COMPLAINT BEFORE WITH NHSTA AND NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE. WE ARE STUCK WITH OUR VEHICLE; NO ONE WANTS TO BUY A CAR WITH OPEN RECALLS AND NO END IN SIGHT. BMW DEALERSHIPS HAVE BEEN TOLD BY BMW NOT TO PURCHASE THESE VEHICLES. THEREFORE WE CANNOT EVEN SELL THE CAR BACK TO BMW FRANCHISES. THIS IS INCREDIBLY UNFAIR, ESPECIALLY SINCE BMW HAS BEEN AWARDED A LARGE SETTLEMENT FROM ITS AIR BAG MANUFACTURER BUT TAKEN NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR FIXING THE VEHICLES AT ALL. WHY IS NHTSA NOT HELPING CONSUMERS SUFFERING LOSSES AT THE HANDS OF THIS TERRIBLE CAR MANUFACTURER?
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 BMW X5. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 25 MPH, THE OVERHEAT ENGINE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED CONTINUOUSLY. IN ADDITION, THE VEHICLE STALLED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE CONTACTS RESIDENCE. THE CONTACT WAS AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC AND DIAGNOSED THAT THE ELECTRICAL WATER PUMP NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 11V521000 ( ENGINE, ENGINE COOLING). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 86,000.
THE COMPLETE WINDSHIELD WASHING SYSTEM STOPPED WORKING DURING AN EXTENDED ROAD TRIP. PUMPS NO LONGER ENGAGE. BECAUSE THE WASHING SYSTEM STOPPED WORKING, THIS HAS CONTRIBUTED TO THE DESTRUCTION OF ALL WIPERS ON THE CAR. FAILURE OF THE WASHER PUMPS AND RELAYS IS A VERY COMMON ISSUE WITH BMWS.
I TOOK MY VEHICLE IN TO BMW SERVICE DEPARTMENT BECAUSE I WAS HAVING PROBLEMS WITH MY VEHICLE DRY STARTING (DIDN'T WANT TO START AS IF IT WAS OUT OF GAS). SERVICE GUY INFORMED ME AFTER HE RAN A DIAGNOSTIC CHECK THAT IT WAS MY BATTERY. I WAS FLABBERGASTED, BECAUSE THAT DIDN'T SOUND OF A DEAD BATTERY. I PAID 460 (NEW BATTERY AND DIAGNOSTIC CHECK) AND HE ASSURED HE RAN IT AGAIN WITH THE NEW BATTERY AND NO CODES WAS SHOWN AGAIN. BEFORE I EVEN GOT INTO MY VEHICLE THE TRANSPORT GUY NOTICE A LIGHT ON. SERVICE GUY CHECKED IT OUT AND FINDS OUT REAR LIGHT NEEDS TO BE REPLACED, WAIT A FEW. CALLS ME IN THE BACK AND SAYS WE HAVE A BIG PROBLEM, THE RIGHT TAIL LIGHT WIRING HARNESS HAS BURNT AND MELTED THE SOCKET AND THE WHOLE ASSEMBLY, WHICH WILL NOW COST 380 TO REPAIR. MY HUSBAND TAKES A LOOK AT THE LEFT SIDE, AND IT'S WORST THEN THE RIGHT SIDE, WHICH MEANS BOTH SIDES NEEDS TO BE REPAIRED. THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE BECAUSE IT COULD LEAD TO A FIRE HAZARD AND THE OWNER WOULD BOT EVEN KNOW IT. THE SERVICE GUY SAID HE RAN A CHECK BEFORE AND AFTER THE REPLACEMENT OF THE NEW BATTERY ALL WITHIN 24HRS, AND IT DIDN'T IT CATCH THIS HUGE SAFETY ISSUE THAT HAS BEEN GOING ON IN MY VEHICLE, WHICH IS NAKED TO THE EYE UNLESS SOMEONE OPENS UP THOSE DEPARTMENTS AND LOOK WITH A FLASH LIGHT. PLEASE BE AWARE AND LETS GET THIS RESOLVED.
MY VEHICLE IS BMW X5 30I 2009 MODEL YEAR. I SUDDENLY HAD AN ERROR MESSAGE ON THE DASHBOARD SCREEN SAYING "PASS RESTRAINT SYSTEM FAULTY". DEALER CHECKED THE PROBLEM AND STATED THAT THIS WILL NOT ENGAGE FRONT PASSENGER AIRBAG AND SEATBELT RESTRAINT SYSTEM IF NOT FIXED. ASKED PRICE WAS $1800 AND PAID $1500. ABSURD PRICE AND SHOULD BE COVERED BY WARRANTY -- ITS A SAFETY SYSTEM! I FOUND OUT THAT THERE WAS AN IDENTICAL NHTSA RECALL ON THE SAME ISSUE WITH OTHER BMW VEHICLES JUST ONE OR TWO YEARS BEFORE THIS MODEL YEAR. THE NHTSA RECALL CODE OF THAT RECALL IS 08V384000. I USUALLY RIDE THE CAR ALONE AND HAVE OCCASIONAL PASSENGER AND NEVER HAD ANY HEAVY LOAD ON THE SEAT.
THE POWER CABLE GOING TO THE IN-TANK FUEL PUMP BURNT UP, MELTING THE PUMP HOUSING AND MELTING THE INSULATION ON THE WIRES IN THE TANK. WHEN I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER THEY SAID IT WAS A KNOWN ISSUE AND THAT NEW FIRMWARE WILL FIX THE ISSUE TO REDUCE HOW MUCH CURRENT THE PUMP DRAWS, THEY SAID THERE WAS NO RECALL OR WARRANTY ON THIS ITEM. THE VEHICLE COULD HAVE CAUGHT ON FIRE WITH WIRES GETTING HOT ENOUGH TO MELT THE INSULATION IN THE FUEL TANK! HOW COULD THIS NOT HAVE BEEN A RECALL?
WHILE DRIVING ON A FREEWAY MORE THAN A WEEK AGO SUDDENLY THE AIRBAG AND RESTRAINT MALFUNCTION APPEARED FOR NO VALID REASON.THE NEXT DAY MY WIFE HEARD A LOUD METALLIC RUB SOUND AND PARK BRAKE MALFUNCTION APPEARED. DIESEL X5 HAS A FAULTY PASSIVE DEF TANK WHICH ILLUMINATES THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT AND DOES NOT PROVIDE DEF FLUID TO THE EMISSIONS CONTROL SYSTEM. BMW WILL NOT PAY FOR REPAIRS AND COULD NOT PROVIDE REPLACEMENT PART FOR THE LAST 6 MONTHS DUE TO SENSOR REDESIGN. VEHICLE EMITTING TOXIC EMISSIONS FOR 6 MONTHS. COULD BE THOUSANDS OF VEHICLES AFFECTED. HEALTH SAFETY CONDITION.

I STATED THIS SOUNDS LIKE A RECALL BUT INSTEAD THEY OFFER TO SERVICE BODY REPAIRS ON THE TAIL LIGHTS FOR A COST OF $600+.
