The contact stated that while driving at approximately 15 MPH, another vehicle failed to yield and collided with the contact’s vehicle. The contact stated that all of the air bags deployed. The contact stated that due to the steering air bag deploying, the emblem on the steering wheel column caused a severe arm injury. The contact was transported to a local emergency room and sustained severe burns on the forearm and wrist, as well as whiplash. A Police report was filed. The vehicle was towed and destroyed. The dealer was contacted. and referred the contact to the manufacturer for further assistance. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure, and a case was opened. The failure mileage was approximately 30,000.
Service Safety Restraint System warning and Airbag light comes on and off multiple times a day. Onstar and Dealer state they cannot recreate issue or find a code. I have pictures of the warning. It is very distracting when driving and warning bells are sounding and messages are popping up that take my eyes off the road. This vehicle has ~2500 miles and began at ~2400 miles.
