THE SAID VEHICLE WAS BEING SERVICED AT LOGANVILLE AUTO CENTER. WHEN I WENT TO PICK IT UP ON FEBRUARY 9, 2024, THE MECHANIC CAME OUT AND SHOWED ME THAT TWO OF THE TUBES WERE LEAKING AND THIS WOULD BECOME A SERIOUS PROBLEM. HE GAVE A RECALL SHEET ISSUED ON DECEMBER 13, 2023 THAT THERE WAS A RECALL INVOLVING OUR CAR FOR THIS VERY SAME ISSUE. I CALLED GM THE NEXT DAY AND THEY STATED THAT OUR CAR DIDN'T COME OUT OF THE BARN THEY WERE RECALLING. I EXPLAINED TO THEM IT WAS ALREADY HAPPENING TO OUR CAR AND THE PERSON STATED THAT OUR VIN NUMBER MAY BE ADDED LATER. I CALLED ON APRIL 8TH AND THEY STATED IT HAD NOT BEEN ADDED TO THE RECALL LIST. THIS CAR ONBLY HAS 61,230 MILES ON IT. THIS IS A SERIOUS ISSUE AND IT SHOULD BE COVERED UNDER THIS RECALL BECAUSE THEY KNOW THAT IS MORE WIDESPREAD THAN WHAT VIN NUMBERS THEY HAVE INCLUDED.

REDUCED ENGINE POWER-WHILE DRIVING 30MPH THE VEHICLE WILL RANDOMLY REDUCE ENGINE POWER AND CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO STALL. I HAD TO PULL OVER AND RESTART MY VEHICLE 2 TWICE TO MAKE IT HOME SAFELY. GM HAS A SERVICE BULLETIN OUT TO REPAIR 2010-2011 BUCK LACROSSE ONLY MANUFACTURED AT SPECIFIC PLANTS. GM DEALER STATES I HAVE SAME DEFECTIVE THROTTLE THAT WAS MANUFACTURED IN 2010-2011 LACROSSE AND CAUSES THE ENGINE TO FAIL WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE HOWEVER GM IS SAYING THAT NO MATTER IF THE PART IS DEFECTIVE IT MATTERS WHICH PLANT MADE MY CAR AND THAT I SHOULD HAVE TAKE AN EXTEND WARRANTY. MY CAR JUST REACHED 52K MILES THIS MONTH AND I COULD HAVE LOST MY LIFE AND MY CHILDREN'S LIVES BY THIS HAPPENING TO ME OVER 10 TIMES IN 2 WEEKS. *TR
GM 3.6 L VVT TIMING CHAIN ISSUE I WAS DRIVING OUR '10 BUICK LACROSSE (WITH 65,340 MI) ONE EVENING AND THE CAR'S FRONT END BEGAN TO SHAKE AND THE ENGINE STARTED TO POWER DOWN, AND DID SO FOR ABOUT 5-10 SECONDS. IT THEN RAN NORMAL FOR ABOUT 75 YARDS AND THE DISPLAY SHOWED LOW ENGINE POWER MESSAGE WITH THE EXCLAMATION POINT. I PULLED OFF ON A SIDE STREET AND SHUT THE VEHICLE OFF. I TRIED TO RESTART IT, BUT IT WOULD NOT FIRE. I HAD IT TOWED TO A LOCAL DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD THE NEXT DAY THAT I NEEDED A NEW MOTOR THAT WOULD RUN $6800. I HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED BACK HOME AND WHILE CALLING AROUND TO DIFFERENT DEALERSHIPS FOR ENGINE QUOTES, I FOUND A DEALERSHIP THAT ASKED ME IF THEY COULD TAKE A LOOK AT IT. I TOLD THEM WHAT HAPPENED AND THY RIGHT AWAY SAID IT DID NOT SOUND LIKE MY ENGINE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THEY TOWED THE VEHICLE TO THEIR DEALERSHIP AND DISCOVERED THE TIMING CHAIN NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AND THAT WHEN IT BROKE, IT DAMAGED THE REAR VALVES AND ONE OF THE HEADS. THE TOTAL COST WAS ABOUT $3250. I CALLED GM CUSTOMER CARE AND THEY WILL NOT OFFER ANY HELP ON THE REPAIRS.
TIMING CHAIN FAILURE @ 78263 MILES. VEHICLE DISPLAYED ENGINE TROUBLE LIGHT AND WAS STILL DRIVABLE. WAS TOLD IT WOULD HAVE STOPPED WITHOUT REPAIRS. CONTACTED LOCAL DEALER AND BUICK CUSTOMER SERVICE AND BOTH ENTITIES DENIED ASSISTANCE WITH TIMING CHAIN REPLACEMENT DUE TO VEHICLE OUT OF WARRANTY. I REFERENCED TSB 11340A WHERE GM EXTENDED WARRANTY COVERAGE TO OTHER MODELS WITH TIMING CHAIN ISSUES, BUT NOT THE 2010 LACROSSE, IN MY COMMUNICATIONS WITH THEM. I APPEALED TO GM PRESIDENT AND THE STATE CONSUMER AFFAIRS DIVISION WHERE I LIVE. GM HAS CLOSED THE FILE ON MY CASE THOUGH I ASKED FOR CONFIRMATION THAT THE SUPPLIER OF THE ENGINE IN THE 2010 LACROSSE WAS NOT THE SAME AS IN THE ENGINES OF THE VEHICLES REFERENCED IN THE TSN 11340A.

THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE THROTTLE CONTROL ASSEMBLY WAS DAMAGED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 47,739.
MY CAR OVERHEATED AND THE COOLANT SYSTEM LIGHT CAME ON PLUS THE SERVICE OIL LIGHT CAME ON CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. IT IS CURRENTLY IN THE DEALER REPAIR SHOP FOR FURTHER DIAGNOSIS AND REPAIR. THIS IS A DANGEROUS SITUATION FOR A 72 YEAR OLD WOMEN WHO IS LEFT STRANDED WITH THE CAR ENGINE DEAD AND NOT TURNING OVER DEPENDING ON THE NEIGHBORHOOD AND TIME OF THE DAY OR NIGHT WHEN THIS INTERMITTENT PROBLEM OCCURS. HMMMM, WHY DID THEY REPLACE THE STARTER THEN...I HAVE NEVER HEARD THIS LOUD POP IN ANY OTHER CAR I HAVE EVER DRIVEN OR RIDDEN IN BEFORE, SO I DON'T BUY THIS. I WONDER IF THIS IS WHAT THE TOYOTA PEOPLE TOLD THE PEOPLE WITH THE BRAKE ISSUES!!! DO NOT BUY GM!!! THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER WHO REPROGRAMMED THE TCM WHICH CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO SLOW DOWN DUE TO AN ENGINE MALFUNCTION. A MONTH LATER WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH THE VEHICLE SLOWED DOWN AGAIN WITHOUT WARNING. THE PARK ASSIST AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED AGAIN ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL AND THE VEHICLE TOWED TO A DEALER. THE DEALER WAS ADJUSTING THE SELECTOR CABLE WHEN THE COMPLAINT WAS FILE BECAUSE IT WAS TOO TIGHT. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 13,000.
