SEVERE ENGINE OIL LEAKAGE AT 80,000 MILES SEVERE REAR MAIN SEAL LEAKAGE AT 80,000 MILES
THIS CAR JUST SHUTS DOWN WHILE DRIVING. THIS IS VERY SERIOUS AS YOU LOSE YOUR POWER STEERING AND BRAKES. IT HAS HAPPENED 3 TIMES IN THE LAST MONTH. SOMEONE IS GOING TO GET KILLED! I TOOK IT TO MECHANIC FIRST TIME HE TIGHTENED A BATTERY WIRE. IT DID START BACK UP BUT DIED GOING DOWN THE ROAD AND TOWED IT BACK. HE THEN TIGHTENED WIRE ON IGNITION MODULE. IT STARTED AND RAN A FEW DAYS AND DID IT AGAIN. IT NOW DID IT A THIRD TIME. IT THROWS NO CODES ON THE CAR SO IT IS VERY DIFFICULT TO DIAGNOSE. I HAVE SEEN NUMEROUS OTHER PEOPLE HAVE THIS PROBLEM. TH

THE DEALER BOUGHT THE VEHICLE BACK FROM THE CONSUMER. *JB

I WAS DRIVING DOWN STREET AND MOTOR QUIT RUNNING. THE MOTOR DID START AND I CONTINUED ON MY JOURNEY. LATER THAT SAME DAY, THE ENGINE STOPPED AGAIN AND WOULD NOT RESTART FOR SEVERAL MINUTE. AFTER SEVERAL TRIES IT STARTED. I DID NOT HAVE ANY MORE OCCURRENCES FOR SEVERAL MONTHS. I RECEIVED A NOTICE THAT MY BUICK HAD BEEN RECALLED, BUT THAT PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE. IN A LETTER DATED SEPTEMBER 2014, I WAS NOTIFIED TO CONTACT MY DEALER AND PARTS WERE NOW AVAILABLE FOR GM RECALL 14299. I CALLED THE DEALER AND THEY SAID PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE AND THEY WOULD CALL ME WHEN THEY WERE AVAILABLE. AFTER SEVERAL WEEKS, I CALLED AND THEY HAD THE PART AND SCHEDULED ME FOR NOV. 17. I TOOK THE BUICK IN WITH FOUR KEYS. THEY WOULD ONLY FIX TWO KEYS; SO, NOW I HAVE TWO FIXED KEYS AND TWO UNFIXED KEYS FOR THE CAR. ON DECEMBER 4, THE ENGINE QUIT ON ME AGAIN AND WOULD NOT RESTART. I TRIED MOVING THE GEAR SHIFT, BUT THAT DID NOT HELP. AFTER SEVERAL MINUTES THE CAR DID START AND HAS BEEN TROUBLE FREE SINCE THAT TIME. WHEN THE ENGINE WOULD NOT START, ALL OTHER ELECTRICAL ITEMS SEEMED TO WORK, BUT THE STARTER WOULD NOT CRANK. I TOOK THE CAR TO A MECHANIC, BUT HE COULD NOT FIND A PROBLEM BECAUSE THE CAR WAS WORKING FINE AT THAT TIME. I AM CONCERNED THAT THE ENGINE WILL STOP WHILE ON THE HIGHWAY OR IN HEAVY TRAFFIC IN A DANGEROUS SITUATION. WHAT CAN I DO ABOUT THIS? *TR

I HAD 3 OUT OF 4 MOTOR MOUNTS CRACK AND FAIL. MY MECHANIC SAID THAT HE HAS RUN INTO THIS PROBLEM MANY MANY TIMES. I HAVE TO WAIT 3-4 WEEKS FOR THE PARTS TO COME IN, BECAUSE GM IS TRYING TO GET THEM MADE AND THERE ARE A LOT OF DEALER WAITING FOR THEM. *TR
BOUGHT CAR 6/2/08 WITH 6000 MILES ON ODOMETER. IMMEDIATELY NOTICED EXTREME VIBRATION THROUGHOUT VEHICLE WHILE DRIVING ALSO IN PARK AT 1500 RPMS. DEALER IN CONSORT WITH GM ATTEMPTED TO FIX; COULD NOT DO IT. DEALER ALLEGES "VEHICLE WORKING AS DESIGNED". APPARENTLY DESIGNED TO VIBRATE. MY CONCERN IS THAT THE PROBLEM IS IN THE ENGINE - NOT IN SUSPENSION OR TIRES, ETC. WITH VIBRATION COMES INORDINATE WEAR AND POSSIBLE FAILURE WHILE DRIVING POSSIBLY CAUSING AN ACCIDENT WITH INJURIES. ADDITIONALLY, THE FRONT SAFETY BELTS ARE DEFECTIVE IN THAT THEY DO NOT LOCK UP AND RESTRAIN THE UPPER TORSO AS DESIGNED. DEALER HAS REPLACED BOTH BELTS; HOWEVER, THEY STILL DO NOT WORK AS DESIGNED AND REQUIRED POSING A CLEAR AND PRESENT DANGER TO THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER IN THE FRONT SEATS. THERE HAS NOT BEEN AN INCIDENT AS YET; HOWEVER, THE POSSIBILITY OF ONE IS RATHER OBVIOUS AND GM THUS FAR HAS BEEN UNABLE TO RESOLVE THE ISSUE SAFELY AND SATISFACTORILY. *TR

CONSUMER STATES THAT THE ENGINE PROBLEMS HAVE BEEN ON-GOING FOR SOME TIME NOW AND WOULD LIKE TO HAVE THE VEHICLE REPLACED BY THE DEALERSHIP. *NJ THE CONSUMER STATED THE ENGINE CRANKED, BUT WOULD NOT START. THE DEALERSHIP CLAIMED THE PROBLEM WAS A DEFECTIVE IGNITION CONTROL MODULE AND VARIOUS ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS WERE LOOSE AND CORRODED. THE VEHICLE SHUT DOWN ON 7 DIFFERENT OCCASIONS. THE LEFT REAR WINDOW WOULD NOT CLOSE. THE PROBLEM WAS DIAGNOSED AS A TWISTED REGULATOR CABLE. *JB
