THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A REPAIR SHOP AND DIAGNOSED WITH A LEAKING GAS TANK, AFTER HEARING THAT THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE GM DEALERSHIP AND DIAGNOSED. THE GM DEALERSHIP IS STATING THAT THE GAS TANK IS CRACKED. THE VEHICLE HAS NEVER BEEN IN A WRECK! THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE AND THERE SHOULD BE AN INVESTIGATION ON THIS MATTER, AND I ALSO THINK THAT IT IS THE FUEL LINES GOING TO THE FUEL PUMP THAT SITS INSIDE OF THE GAS TANK THAT ARE LEAKING, NOT A CRACK TANK. CAR CRANKED BUT WOULD NOT START. DIOGNOSTIC INDICATED FUEL PUMP WAS UNABLE TO GET PRESSURE. RECOMMENDED BY TECHNICIAN TO REPLACE FUEL MODULE. CAR STARTED FOLLOWING INSTALLATION OF FUEL MODULE. FOLLOWING A COMPLIMENTARY WASH CAR WOULD NOT START. TECHNICIAN DETERMINED THAT FUEL PUMP RELAY AND BLOCK HAD BEEN BURNED. BECAUSE I WAS CONCERNED THAT I HAD PAID FOR PARTS AND LABOR THAT WERE NOT NECESSARY, I DID RESEARCH ON LINE AND FOUND THAT THE FUEL PUMP RELAY BURN OUT HAD BEEN A PROBLEMS SINCE 2006. ONLINE I NOTED THAT MANY COMPLAINTS HAVE BEEN MADE CONCERNING THIS FUEL PUMP RELAY. ACCORDING TO SEVERAL PEOPLE WHO HAVE HAD THIS PROBLEM, IT IS VERY DANGEROUS AS THE FUEL PUMP RELAY AND BLOCK ACTUALLY CREATES ENOUGH HEAT TO CAUSE GAS TANK AND BATTERY TO IGNITE. SINCE THIS APPARENTLY HAS BEEN A PROBLEM SINCE LUCERNE 2006,WHY HAS THIS PROBLEM NOT BEEN ADDRESSED AS IT IS LIFE THREATENING?
