CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED AT 82000 MILES. USING THE SCAN TOOL FROM A LOCAL AUTO PARTS STORE, I OBSERVED THAT THE OBD-II CODES WERE P0016 AND P0017. AROUND THE TIME THAT THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON, I NOTICED THAT THE SHIFTING DONE BY THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION SEEMED JERKY, AND THAT THE ENGINE WAS NOISIER THAN USUAL EVEN WHEN IDLING. GENERALLY THE MILES ON THIS CAR ACCUMULATE FROM EQUAL TIME SPENT ON BOTH CITY AND HIGHWAY CONDITIONS. THE ENGINE ROUGH IDLE AND CHOPPY GEAR SHIFTING WERE APPARENT DURING BOTH TYPES OF CONDITIONS. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT REMAINED LIT FOR FIVE DAYS BEFORE I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR DIAGNOSIS. DEALERSHIP DIAGNOSIS SAID "JUMPED TIMING CHAIN FRONT GUIDE CAME APART P0011 P0014 P0016 P0017 SET IN SYSTEM." THE DEALERSHIP REPLACED THE TIMING CHAIN USING A TIME CHAIN KIT, REPLACED THE INTAKE AND EXHAUST ACTUATORS, AND REPLACED THE OIL AND FILTER. THREE DAYS HAVE PASSED SINCE THE REPAIR WAS MADE, AND THE ENGINE SEEMS TO BE OPERATING NORMALLY.
MICHELIN LATITUDE TOUR HP 235/50R18 TIRES ON 2011 BUICK REGAL. TIRES REPLACED NOVEMBER 2014 AND WORE DOWN TO 4/32 TREAD ON DEC 19,2016. TIRE WAS RATED FOR 55,000 MILE WEAR. LACK OF TREAD CONTRIBUTED TO ACCIDENT ON THAT DATE. CAR WAS UNABLE TO STOP, SLIDING INTO THE CURB CAUSING $4200 IN DAMAGE EVEN THOUGH ACCIDENT WAS AT LOW SPEED. MICHELIN WILL NOT REPLACE TIRES. CAR CURRENTLY BEING REPAIRED. DAMAGE TO WHEELS, SUSPENSION, STEERING GEAR..

POLICE STOPPED ME DUE TO MISSING PASSENGER HEADLAMP. AS I WAS REPLACING SAID HEADLIGHT, UPON CLOSER INSPECTION, I NOTICED THAT THE BULB WIRE HARNESS WERE BURNT BLACK. THE SMELL OF BURNING WAS DETECTED.

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE FAILED AND NEEDED REPLACEMENT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 30,000.
"STABILITI TRAK NEEDS TO BE SERVICED" LIGHT COMES ON AND CAUSES IMMEDIATE LOSS OF ENGINE POWER. THIS HAS BECOME VERY DANGEROUS AND IS NO LONGER A SAFETY FEATURE BUT A HAZARD WHEN DRIVING. THIS HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES AND BEEN TAKEN TO DEALERSHIPS AT LEAST 5 TIMES, WITH NO FIX. THEY CANNOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM BUT THE CAR CONTINUES TO HAVE THE ISSUE. THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY HAZARD WHEN TRAVELING AND I HAVE BEEN FORCED TO PULL OVER AND SHUT OFF THE CAR IN HIGH TRAFFIC AREAS DUE TO CONTINUED BRAKE PRESSURE AND LOSS OF POWER. MY DAUGHTER DRIVES OUR 2011 BUICK REGAL CXL THAT WE PURCHASED IN FEBRUARY 2016. IN THE LAST SEVERAL MONTH THE VEHICLE HAS STALLED, STEERING LOCKS UP, BRAKES GO COMPLETELY OUT, IT DOESN'T HAVE AN ELECTRICAL AND BECAUSE IT HAS AN ELECTRIC EMERGENCY BRAKE THERE IS NO WAY FOR HER TO STOP. THE FIRST TWO TIMES SHE WAS DRIVING AROUND TOWN AND THE LAST TIME IT HAPPENED WAS LAST WEEK AT 70 MPH ON THE HIGHWAY. SHE ALMOST HIT THE CAR IN FRONT OF HER. ONCE IT COASTED TO A STOP SHE WAS ABLE TO START IT AND CONTINUE ON. THIS GM VEHICLE 2011 BUICK REGAL IS A DEATH TRAP WAITING TO HAPPEN. DON'T BUY A BUICK!!! I PICKED IT UP FROM THE LOCAL BUICK DEALER YESTERDAY AND THEY CAN'T DO ANYTHING. ONCE THE VEHICLE IS RESTARTED AFTER ONE OF THESE INCIDENTS THE COMPUTERS AUTOMATICALLY RESETS AND WIPED CLEAN OF CODES WITHOUT ANY TRACE OF A PROBLEM OR ISSUE. ALL THE ERRORS COMPLETELY DISAPPEAR. THE SERVICE PERSON AT THE DEALERSHIP ASKED ME IF I HAD A DECODER I COULD PLUG IN RIGHT AFTER IT HAPPENS. THIS PROBLEM IS ALL OVER THE INTERNET AND BUICK DOES NOTHING. YOU CAN BET THAT A GM EXECUTIVE WOULD DECLINE AN OFFER FOR ONE OF HIS/HER FAMILY MEMBERS TO DRIVE IT FOR A WHILE. MAKE NO MISTAKE THESE CARS SHUT DOWN COMPLETELY WITHOUT ANY WARNING AND ABSOLUTELY NOTHING WORKS AT THE MOMENT. NO STEERING, NO BRAKES, STALLED ENGINE, AND NO ELECTRICAL. ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!!! ALL BUICK SAYS BASE ON ONLINE COMMENTS IS SORRY. SORRY FOR WHAT? KILLING PEOPLE? NOT GIVING A [XXX] ABOUT MY FAMILY OR YOURS? IF THEY WERE SORRY THEY'D STEP UP AND DO THE RIGHT THING BEFORE ITS TOO LATE AND SOMEONE DIES. THE TAIL LIGHT SENSOR AND BRAKE PADS WERE REPLACED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE WAS NOT CORRECTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,000.

THERE HAVE BEEN ISSUES WITH THE ENGINE STARTING WHICH IS APART OF A CLASS SUIT BUT HAS NOT BEEN SOLIDIFIED. I AM ANGERED AS TO WHY MY CAR KEEPS NOT STARTING WHEN IN POSITION. I HAVE TO TRY TO START MY VEHICLE SEVERAL TIMES BEFORE ACTUALLY STARTING. NOW I TAKE IT IN AND ITS STILL AN ENGINE ISSUE WHICH THEY SAID IT WAS THE CAMSHAFT. MY LOCAL DEALERSHIP HAS NO LOANER VEHICLE AND IM NOW WITHOUT A VEHICLE. SO UPSETTING.

IN AUGUST 2016, I RECEIVED AN "IMPORTANT SAFETY RECALL" #30710 FROM BUICK. THE EXPLANATION WAS "THE WIRING HARNESS FOR THE POWER SEATS MAY CONTACT THE SEAT FRAME, CHAFE, A SHORT CIRCUIT COULD OCCUR, RESULTING IN INOPERATIVE POWER SEAT ADJUSTMENTS, FLICKERING LIGHTS ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL, SPARKING OR SMOKE UNDER THE SEAT, AND POSSIBLE FIRE." HAVING NOT HEARD ANYTHING, I CONTACTED MY AGENCY ON 9/22/16 AND WAS TOLD "NO PARTS WERE AVAILABLE." ON 11/23/16, BURNS BUICK SAID, "GM HAS NO SOLUTION. I CONTACTED GM AND SPOKE WITH [XXX] WHO DID NOT HAVE AN ANSWER. ON 11/30/16, GM'S [XXX] SUGGESTED THAT NO DATE OR SUPPLIES HAVE BEEN SET. DO I NEED TO HAVE A FIRE IN MY CAR WHILE MY GRANDCHILDREN ARE IN THE BACK SEAT FOR GM TO FINALLY DETERMINE THIS IS REALLY AN "IMPORTANT SAFETY RECALL?" WHY SHOULD IT TAKE 5 MONTHS WITHOUT ANY SOLUTION? I RIDE IN FEAR EVERYDAY KNOWING THAT I AM SITTING ON A TIME BOMB. I HAVE BEEN HAVING A PROBLEM WITH THE BRAKES STICKING ON MY 2011 BUICK REGAL FOR A COUPLE OF YEARS NOW. THE PROBLEM OCCURS WHEN THE WEATHER IS HOT, IN THE MIDDLE 80'S AND ABOVE AND MY CAR HAS BEEN SITTING CLOSED UP IN THE PARKING LOT AT WORK ALL DAY. I CAN RECREATE THE PROBLEM BY LEAVING IT OUT OF THE GARAGE IN THE SUN FOR SEVERAL HOURS. THIS IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AND IS GETTING WORSE. AT FIRST IT CAUSED A DRAG ON THE BRAKES AND THE PEDAL WOULD NOT RETURN FULLY TO ITS PROPER POSITION. I HAVE TO USE MY LEFT FOOT TO PULL THE PEDAL BACK UP. NOW THE PEDAL REFUSES TO COME BACK UP AT ALL WHEN I TAKE MY FOOT OFF OF IT AFTER STARTING THE CAR AND THE BRAKE WARNING LIGHT ON THE DASH HAS COME ON A COUPLE OF TIMES. I AM EXTREMELY UNCOMFORTABLE DRIVING IT LIKE THIS. I HAVE TO PULL THE PEDAL BACK UP EVERY TIME I USE THE BRAKES ON THE WAY HOME. THE BRAKES WILL RETURN TO 'NORMAL' AFTER ABOUT 15 MINUTES BY WHICH TIME I AM ALMOST HOME.

I HAVE TAKEN THE CAR TO THE DEALER AND THEY TRIED TO FIX WITHOUT ANY LUCK. I THINK PART OF THE TROUBLE WITH FIXING IT IS THE FACT THAT THE COMPUTER RESETS ITSELF AND THEREFORE THEY CAN'T FIND A CODE. APPARENTLY, MANY 2010 - 2012 BUICK REGALS ARE COVERED FOR THIS WITH A SPECIAL COVERAGE ADJUSTMENT SO IT IS A KNOWN PROBLEM. WE BELIEVE OUR VEHICLE SHOULD BE INCLUDED IN THIS ADJUSTMENT AS WELL. I WAITED A FEW MINUTES UNTIL MY NERVES CALMED DOWN AND RESTARTED THE CAR ALL THE LIGHTS WERE OFF EXCEPT THE ENGINE LIGHT. DROVE THE CAR HOME AND CALLED THE DEALERSHIP, WHO THEN HAD IT TOWED TO THEM. BY THAT TIME THE COMPUTER RESTARTED ITSELF AND NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON, WITH THAT NO READING AS TO WHAT THE PROBLEM WAS AT THE DEALERSHIP AND I WAS LEFT BEING LOOKED AT AS IF I DIDN'T KNOW WHAT I WAS TALKING ABOUT.
