I HAVE OWNED MY 2002 BUICK RENDEZVOUS FOR LESS THAN 2 YRS AND I HAVE HAD TO REPLACE 2 WHEEL BEARINGS AND NOW I HAVE BLOWN A HEAD GASKET. LESS THAN A MONTH AGO I HAD TO REPLACE THE ALTERNATOR AND BATTERY. THE DRIVER SIDE WINDOW FELL IN LESS THAN A YR AGO AND I HAVE ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS WITH IT CONSTANTLY. INCLUDING THE ALARM AND SECURITY GOING OFF FOR NO REASON AT ALL. *TR
2002 BUICK RENDEVOUS, ELECTRICAL AND HEAD GASKET PURCHASED THIS CAR OVER A YEAR AGO SO FAR HAD TO REPLACE TRANSMISSION AND REPAIR TRANSMISSION X2, NEEDS HEAD GASKETS DUE TO MY CAR OVERHEATING GRADUALLY, HAVE TO BLEED THE SYSTEM FOR AIR PRETTY MUCH EVERY OTHER DAY TO GET HEAT IN THE CAR. MY COMPUTER HAS BEEN REPLACED 6 MONTHS AFTER PURCHASING IT AFTER BEING UNABLE TO CLEAR ITSELF OF THE CODES. THIS LAST INCIDENT THE BATTERY DIED AND SINCE NOW THE COMPUTER IS RUNNING THE CAR CAUSING MY CAR TO RUN IN PARK AT 3 RPM'S, IN NEUTRAL IT SHOOTS UP TO 4500, IT DRIVES ABOUT 2-2.5 RPMS. THE COMPUTER WAS CLEARED AND RESET LAST NIGHT RPM'S DROPPED TO ABOUT 760 STILL ELEVATED BUT OK, THEN STARTED IT THIS MORNING TO TAKE MY DAUGHTER TO SCHOOL AND IT DROVE ITSELF, STALLING AS I WATCHED THE COMPUTER RUN THROUGH AS IT WAS POSSESSED, I HAVE SINCE CALLED THE CAR "CHRISTINE". I CAN SEE THE COMPUTER RUNNING THE CAR, AS THE RPMS ELEVATE AND THEN DECREASE, SHUTTING THE CAR DOWN ETC, I CAN NOT BELIEVE THAT THERE IS NO RECALLS AS THIS IS SO DANGEROUS. THERE ARE NO CODES RELATING TO THIS ISSUE, NO TRANSMISSION, ENGINE ISSUES, THIS IS COMPLETELY COMPUTER RELATED. I HAD SOMEONE WITH A COMPLEX SYSTEM DELETE ALL CODES AND HAVE THE COMPUTER RELEARN ITSELF. IT WORKED. STARTED IT THIS MORNING AND STARTED ALL OVER. BETWEEN THE COMPUTER AND HEATING AND COOLING SYSTEM, THIS CAR IS A CONSTANT HEADACHE NOT TO MENTION I HAVE HAD THIS CAR IN THE REPAIR SHOP MORE THAN I HAVE BEEN ABLE TO DRIVE IT ESPECIALLY SINCE I'M STILL PAYING ON IT.
MY 2002 BUICK RENDEZVOUS BEGAN TO LOSE CABIN HEATING AND SHOWED LOW COOLANT LEVELS. REPAIR FACILITY FOUND COOLANT IN ENGINE OIL AND DETERMINED INTAKE MANIFOLD GASKET REPAIR WAS NEEDED. REPAIR FACILITY COMMENTED THAT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM THAT WAS EASILY CONFIRM BY SOME RESEARCH. I AM STRONGLY OF THE OPINION THAT THIS MATTER SHOULD BE A RECALL BY THE MANUFACTURER. *TR
I HAVE A 2002 BUICK RENED. I HAVE HAD AN ON GOING PROBLEM WITH THE CAR OVERHEATING AND NO AC. I HAVE HAD THE AC REPLACED ON THE VEHICLE, THE TEMP GAUGE, THE THERMOSTAT, THE WATER-PUMP, 2 BLOWN HEAD GASKETS, THE FUEL SENSOR, ANTI LOCK BRAKE SENSOR AND THE FUEL PUMP. I ALSO HAVE HAD TO REPLACE THE WINDOW REGULATOR ON THE PASSENGER SIDE WINDOW. I HAVE RECEIPTS FOR ALL REPAIRS BUT NO I DO NOT HAVE THE OLD PARTS. THESE REPAIRS HAVE COSTS ME AT LEAST $5000K IF NOT MORE. *TR
AFTER BUYING THE CAR FROM A GM DEALER IN JULY 2004 ONE YEAR LATER THE AC SYSTEM LEAKED AND BLOWOUT THE WHOLE ELECTRICAL BOARD OF AC WHICH HAD TO BE REPLACED AND NEVER WORKED PROPERLY. THEN IN JUNE OF 2008 THE THERMOSTAT NEEDED TO BE REPLACE. THEN IN AUGUST OF 2008 A RADIATOR HOSE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THEN IN SEPTEMBER OF 2008 THE INTAKE MANIFOLD AND GASKETS HAD TO BE REPLACED. IN NOVEMBER 2008 THE RENDEZVOUS IS CONTINUING TO OVERHEAT. THE CAR HAS BEEN CHECKED AND THE COOLANT PRESSURE CAP REPLACED BUT STILL THE CAR CONTINUES TO OVERHEAT THE MINUTE YOU START TO DRIVE IT. I HAVE HAD SEVERAL MECHANICS CHECK AND THEY CAN NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG. IN DECEMBER OF 2008 THE RENDEZVOUS CONTINUES TO OVERHEAT. IT IS JANUARY 1, 2009 AND I AM TAKING IT INTO THE SHOP AGAIN. I HAVE READ THAT THE A/C SYSTEM ON THE 2002 RENDEZVOUS IS A MAJOR ISSUE WHICH GM IS AWARE OF BUT CONTINUES TO IGNORE DUE TO THE FACT THAT THE CAR IS NO LONGER UNDER WARRANTY. I BELIEVE THAT THEY SHOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS. AND IF THEY DO NOT WANT TO TAKE THE RESPONSIBILITY ON THEIR OWN THEN SOMEONE SHOULD MAKE THEM ACCOUNTABLE. *TR
I OWN A 2002 RENDEZVOUS THAT HAS INTAKE MANIFOLD / HEAD GASKET ISSUE. I HAVE CONDENSATION UNDER THE OIL CAP AND HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT THIS PROBLEM WAS PART OF A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT AS THE RESULT OF DEXCOOL ANTIFREEZE DETERIORATING THE INTAKE MANIFOLD AND THUS DAMAGING THE HEAD GASKET. IT IS NOW WAY PAST THE CLASS ACTION FILING DEADLINE AND AM LEFT TO PAY FOR THE REPAIRS MYSELF. GM SERVICE DEPARTMENTS HAVE ACKNOWLEDGED THAT THIS IS A PROBLEM WITH THE 3.4L ENGINES YET IS NOT OWNING UP TO THEIR RESPONSIBILITY BY REMEDYING THE DEFECT. BUILD A FAULTY PRODUCT AND GET OFF SCOTT FREE. THE ONLY TIME IT SEEMS THE AUTO COMPANIES TAKE RESPONSIBILITY IS WHEN SOMEONE IS SERIOUSLY INJURED OR DIES. SAD TO SAY THE LEAST. *TR
COOLANT LEAK FOUND BY VEHICLE INSPECTION MECHANIC. A SEALANT WAS PUT IN BY DEALERSHIP AS A TEMPORARY FIX, BUT DUE TO ESTIMATE OF $1800, WORK TO PERMANENTLY FIX THE PROBLEM HAS NOT BEEN DONE YET. I DID AN INTERNET SEARCH AND FOUND THE PROBLEM IS A COMMON COMPLAINT IN THE 2002 BUICK RENDEZVOUS. I AM DRIVING THE VEHICLE AS LITTLE AS POSSIBLE UNTIL I DECIDE ON A COURSE OF ACTION. *TR
2002 BUICK RENDEZVOUS WITH APPROX. 80K MILES AT TIME OF FAILURE. AT APPROXIMATELY 40MPH WHILE EXITING THE FREEWAY, THE FRONT BRAKES FAILED TOTALLY. I WAS (BARELY) ABLE TO STOP THE VEHICLE SAFELY DUE TO THE RELATIVELY LOW SPEED AT THE TIME OF THE FAILURE. IT IS PURE LUCK THAT THERE WAS NOT AN ACCIDENT OR FATALITY. THE BRAKE FAILURE WAS DUE TO A RUSTED OUT FRONT BRAKE LINE THAT RUNS FROM LEFT TO RIGHT BEHIND THE ENGINE AND AGAINST THE FIREWALL. IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO SEE UNLESS THE VEHICLE IS ON A LIFT. THE RUPTURED BRAKE LINE WAS REPLACED BY SHELTON PONTIAC AT A COST OF $620. WHEN GM WAS CONTACTED ABOUT THE FAILURE, THEY TOOK THE POSITION THAT RUST WAS NORMAL AND IT WAS THE OWNER'S RESPONSIBILITY TO INSPECT THE BRAKE LINES AND REPLACE AS NECESSARY. THEY REFUSED TO ACKNOWLEDGE A PROBLEM OR TO HELP WITH THE REPAIR COST IN ANY WAY WHATSOEVER. *TR
MY HUSBAND HAD DRIVEN THE VEHICLE ABOUT 2 MILES WHEN ALL OF A SUDDEN IT BEGAN OVERHEATING AND A WARNING LIGHT CAME ON. HE RETURNED HOME AND THE FOLLOWING DAY WE TOOK IT TO A SHOP. THE MECHANIC CHECKED EVERYTHING. COULD NOT FIND THE SOURCE. WE FINALLY HAD TO HAVE IT TOWED TO A GM DEALER. THEY SAY THAT THE HEAD GASKET IS BLOWN. HOWEVER, THEY SAY THAT WE SHOULD BUY A NEW ENGINE AT A COST OF $5131.00, BECAUSE ACCORDING TO THEM WITH THE HOLLOW CAM IT WILL ONLY BE A MATTER A TIME BEFORE THE HEAD BLOWS AGAIN. I RESEARCHED AND FOUND THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THIS VEHICLE. I WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE DEXCOOL LAWSUIT AND HAVE RECEIVED NO DEFINITE HELP FROM BUICK CUSTOMER ASSISTANT. ADDITIONALLY, 3 OF 4 WINDOW MOTORS HAVE GONE OUT. THROUGH MY RESEARCH I FIND THIS TOO IS A COMMON PROBLEM. WHEN THE 2 SECOND MOTOR WENT OUT, I HAD A LOCAL WINDOW REPAIR MAN LOCK THE WINDOW SO THAT IT WOULD NO LONGER DROP DOWN, BECAUSE I COULD NOT AFFORD THE REPAIR. I HAVE HAD REPEATED BRAKE/ROTOR/TIRE WORK, SO CALLED "SPARK PLUG MISFIRES" AND EXPENSIVE ELECTRICAL REPAIRS. I CONSISTENTLY SERVICE AND PERFORM ROUTINE MAINTENANCE ON THE VEHICLE. AS OF TODAY, THE VEHICLE HAS LESS THAN 91,000 MILES ON IT, BUT IS COMPLETELY INOPERABLE. *TR
I HAD THE CAR 2 WEEKS & THE WINDOW REGULATOR/MOTOR IN MY DRIVERS WINDOW STOPPED WORKING. BUT WAS TOLD IT WAS NOT COVERED. I ONLY HAD ABOUT 49,000 MILES ON IT. AT 75,000 MY FUEL GAUGE WENT OUT, THAT WAS REPLACED, BUT WAS TOLD THAT MY GAS TANK HAD BEEN LEAKING. WHICH EXPLAINS THE GAS SMELL WHEN I FILLED MY TANK UP. I THOUGHT IT WAS JUST WHERE SOME MIGHT HAVE GOTTEN ON THE OUTSIDE. THEN I READ THERE IS A RECALL, HOWEVER, BUICK TOLD ME THAT THEY WERE NOT GOING TO REPLACE MINE. A NEW ONE IS 1,800. I CAN'T AFFORD THAT. AT 80,000 1 OF MY BACK WHEEL HUBS & ASSEMBLY WENT OUT & I NEEDED A NEW UNIVERSAL BELT, SO BOTH WERE REPLACED.85,000 THE SECOND WHEEL HUB & ASSEMBLY WENT OUT. THAT TOO REPLACED. AT 101,000 MY TRANSMISSION STARTED SLIPPING A LITTLE. HAD IT FLUSHED & FILTER CHANGED, HELPED FOR ABOUT A DAY, THEN STARTED AGAIN. AWD LIGHT STARTED COMING ON & GOING OFF, COMING ON & GOING OFF. BLEW 2 FUSES IN MY CAR, NOTHING WOULD WORK. AT 101,000 CAR WENT FROM A NORMAL TEMP.(JUST GOT OFF WORK, HAD NOT EVEN DROVE 2 MILES) TO HOT, PULLED OVER, OH GUESS WHAT THERMOSTAT STOPPED WORKING, IT WAS LEAKING COOLANT, CRACKED A HEADER. THAT TOO REPLACED. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AROUND 108,000, NOW WHAT, O2 CENSOR, FUEL PUMP, INTAKE MANIFOLD, AND CATYLIC CONVERTER. ALL REPLACED TOO. WHEN I START MY CAR, SOMETIMES IT WON'T START. SO I HAVE TO POP THE HOOD & MOVE WIRES AROUND AND PLAY WITH THE BATTERY POST TO GET IT TO START. I THOUGHT IT WAS THE BATTERY BUT ITS NOT, BECAUSE I HAVE REPLACED THAT TOO. WHEN YOUR DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AT ABOUT 60, AND TURN THE WHEEL EITHER RIGHT OR LEFT, THE STEERING WHEEL WILL SHAKE, & YOU CAN FEEL SOMETHING THAT FEELS LIKE A RATTLE UNDER YOUR FEET. I WANT TO GET RID OF IT SO BAD, BUT I HAVE FINALLY GOT IT DOWN TO WHERE HOPEFULLY I CAN TRADE IT IN, BECAUSE THE EXTRA MONEY I WAS PLANNING ON USING TO PAY IT OFF, HAS HAD TO GO INTO IT TO FIX IT. *JS
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2002 BUICK RENDEZVOUS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE REAR KNUCKLE BOLTS CAN BECOME LOOSE AND CAUSE THE WHEELS TO DETACH FROM THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER AND REPAIRED. THEY STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS DANGEROUS TO DRIVE IN THAT CONDITION. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 90,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 91,000.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2002 BUICK RENDEVOUS. THE CONTACT EXPERIENCED FAILURE IN THE ENGINE AND WAS ADVISED THAT THE INTAKE MANIFOLD GASKET IN THE ENGINE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE DEALER STATED THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS RELATED TO HER VIN AND SHE WOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE REPAIR. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 90,000.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2002 BUICK RENDEZVOUS. THE FIRST FAILURE OCCURRED IN THE SUMMER OF 2006. THE VEHICLE OVERHEATED WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO AN AUTO REPAIR SHOP AND THEY STATED THAT THE GASKET FAILED. THE GASKET WAS REPLACED. THE SECOND FAILURE OCCURRED ON NOVEMBER 3, 2008. THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE HEATER WAS NOT WORKING AND SHE ADDED SOME COOLANT. AFTER A FEW MINUTES, THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO OVERHEAT. SHE PULLED INTO A PARKING LOT AND THE VEHICLE SHUT OFF. FLUID WAS LEAKING FROM THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE AND IT WAS TOWED TO A REPAIR SHOP. THE DIAGNOSIS INDICATED THAT THE GASKET FAILED AND THE INTAKE MANIFOLD WAS DETERIORATING. THE REPAIR SHOP WILL REPLACE THE GASKET AND THE INTAKE MANIFOLD AT THE COST OF $600. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 105,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 143,000.
HAD TO REPLACE THE INTAKE MANIFOLD GASKET DUE TO DEXCOOL ANTIFREEZE ISSUES ON THE 3.4 L V-6 OF MY 2002 BUICK RENDEZVOUS. I SAW WHERE THERE HAD BEEN A CLASS ACTION SUIT FILED BUT I NEVER RECEIVED NOTIFICATION FROM GM OR THE DEALER WHERE I BOUGHT THE CAR. ACCORDING TO THE CLASS ACTION WEB-SITE, THE DATE FOR FILING A CLAIM HAS EXPIRED. I HAVE HAD THE INTAKE MANIFOLD GASKET REPLACED AT A COST OF $747. ACCORDING TO SEVERAL INTERNET SITES, THIS WAS A PROBLEM THAT GM WAS AWARE OF BUT NEVER NOTIFIED THEIR CUSTOMERS. THE MECHANIC TOLD ME (SUBSTANTIATED BY THE INTERNET SITES) THAT DEXCOOL DESTROYED THE INTAKE MANIFOLD GASKETS AND THIS PROBLEM COULD HAPPEN AGAIN. I PLAN TO CONTACT GM DIRECTLY, BUT WANTED TO FILE THIS COMPLAINT FIRST. *TR
MULTIPLE DISCUSSIONS WITH RENDEZVOUS OWNERS ALL REVOLVE AROUND HUB BEARINGS BEING ALMOST DETACHED MAKING DRIVING HAZARDOUS AND THE CAR RUNNING HOT, MULTIPLE PEOPLE HAVE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON. *TR
THE REAR HATCH DOOR UNLOCKS BY ITSELF FROM THE BODY COMPUTER PROBLEM WHEN YOU FIRST START THE CAR ALSO OTHER THINGS THAT ARE CONTROLLED BY THIS UNIT WORK OR DON'T WORK INCLUDING AIR BAGS SYS OUTSIDE TEMP AIR COND. COOLING FANS AMONG OTHERS. IF YOU SHUT THE CAR OFF AND TURN IT ON IT GOES AWAY UNTIL YOU SHUT THE CAR OFF. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2002 BUICK RENDEZVOUS. THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE POWER LOCKS WERE INOPERATIVE, WHICH PREVENTED HIM FROM EXITING AND LOCKING THE DOORS. SECONDLY, HE NOTICED THAT THE INSTRUMENT PANEL GAUGES DISPLAYED INACCURATE READINGS. THIRDLY, HE NOTICED THAT THE BATTERY WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT CONTROL PANEL. HE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER AND THEY REPLACED THE BATTERY AND TWO MODULES IN THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. ONE WEEK AFTER THE REPAIR, THE FAILURE RESURFACED. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 66,000.
MY 2002 BUICK RENDEZVOUS WITH 79,300 MILES ON IT BLEW A HEAD GASKET. THERE WAS NO WARNING ON VEHICLE OVERHEATING. ALL OF A SUDDEN TEMP GAUGE WAS IN THE RED ZONE AND A WARNING LIGHT AND SOUND CAME. I IMMEDIATELY PULLED OVER AND TURNED OFF THE ENGINE TO CHECK THE MANUAL. THE MANUAL SAID THE VEHICLE NEEDED TO BE SERVICED IMMEDIATELY. I WAS ONE MILE FROM THE DEALERSHIP AND DROVE STRAIGHT THERE. THEY SAID THE VEHICLE HAD A BLOWN HEAD GASKET. REPAIRS NORMALLY APPROX $1,800. DEALER DID IT FOR $950 BECAUSE MY SON-IN-LAW WORKS THERE. I WAS TOLD THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THE RENDEZVOUS AND MY INVESTIGATION REVEALS THE SAME. A WELL MAINTAINED VEHICLE SHOULD NOT HAVE A BLOWN HEAD GASKET AT 79,300 WITH NO WARNING OF THE VEHICLE OVERHEATING. CONTACTED BUICK CUSTOMER SERVICE AND WAS TOLD THERE WAS NOTHING THEY WOULD DO AS VEHICLE WAS OUTSIDE OF WARRANTY. *TR
I HAVE A 2002 BUICK RENV. AND I BOUGHT IT FROM A USED CAR DEALER IN ALBANY NY, I HAVE HAD TO RETURN THE CAR 2 TIMES FOR DIFFERENT PROBLEMS, ONCE WAS THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT AND IT CAME ON 3 HOURS AFTER I BOUGHT THE CAR, THEY TOLD ME THAT THEY ALREADY TOOK CARE OF IT BUT THEY DID NOT, SO THEY DID FIX THAT, THERE WERE A FEW OTHER PROBLEM THEY FIXED, BUT THE BIG PROBLEM CAME THE OTHER DAY WHEN IT WAS RAINING I CAME OUT TO FIND A LEAKY SUNROOF, SO I TOOK IT TO BE SEALED AND COME TO FIND OUT THE WHOLE ROOF OF THE CAR IS RUSTY, IT NEEDS ALMOST 2,000 DOLLARS WORTH OF WORK, AND THE PEOPLE THAT I TOOK THE CAR TO TRY TO FIX IT TOLD ME THAT THE CAR SHOULD HAVE NEVER BEEN SOLD TO ME, AND TO RETURN THE CAR TO THE DEALER, THIS ROOF COULD CAVE IN, IT IS IN THAT BAD OF SHAPE, THAT IS WHAT I AM TOLD, WHILE THE REPAIR SHOP WAS TRYING TO SEAL IN WHAT THEY COULD, WHILE THIS WAS BEING DONE THE CORNER OF THE ROOF BY THE SUNROOF JUST CAME OFF NOW THERE IS A HOLE IN THE ROOF, HE TOLD ME THAT THE ROOF COULD JUST CRACK ANY TIME, WELL I AM STUCK AND I TRIED TO RETURN THE CAR AND THE DEALER WILL NOT TAKE THE CAR BACK, OR REPAIR IT, I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO, SO I AM HOPING SOMEONE CAN HELP ME HERE. *TR
POWER WINDOW CLIPS BREAK OR CRACK THEN WINDOW FALLS DOWN AND WON'T WORK. I HAVE COMPLAINED REPEATEDLY ABOUT THE GREASE STRIPES ON WINDOWS AND HAVE BEEN TOLD THE PROBLEM IS UNIVERSAL WITH ALL RENDEZVOUS. NOT COVERED ON WARRANTY OR EXTENDED WARRANTY. *TR
2002 BUICK RENDEZVOUS. DEALERSHIP HAS INFORMED ME THAT BCM NEEDS REPLACEMENT. INTERNET SEARCHES SHOW ME THAT THIS HAS BEEN A PROBLEM FOR MANY OWNERS. THIS IS A VERY SERIOUS PROBLEM & I AM JUST RELIEVED THAT MY FAMILY DID NOT SUFFER ANY SERIOUS PHYSICAL HARM FROM THE INCIDENT. CAR PACKED TO BRING SON BACK TO COLLEGE. ALL OF A SUDDEN, WHILE TRAVELING AT HIGHWAY SPEED, ALL ELECTRICAL CONTROLS SEEMED TO STOP. RADIO CUT OUT, ALL WINDOWS BECAME INOPERABLE, AIR CONDITIONING STOPPED, BACK HATCH INOPERABLE. CONTROL PANEL GAVE SECURITY ALERT AND LOCKED MESSAGE ACROSS RADIO DISPLAY. BIGGEST PROBLEM WAS FACT THAT WE WERE TRAVELING AT HIGH SPEED ON INTERSTATE ON A VERY HOT DAY. NO OPERABLE WINDOWS AND NO A.C. HAD TO EXIT OVER TO SHOULDER. TOOK SHORT SPURTS OF STOPPING CAR TO MANUALLY OPEN DOORS FOR AIR, UNTIL WE COULD RETURN TO OUR HOUSE. IN THE TWO WEEKS PROCEEDING THIS INCIDENT, WE HAD SOME SORT OF COIL REPLACED IN OUR STEERING COLUMN, AND THE CAR'S BATTERY REPLACED (ALREADY HAD REPLACED LAST YEAR). CAR ONLY HAS 77,000 MILES ON IT. ALSO WERE A VICTIM OF THE RENDEZVOUS' CRACKED A/C CONDENSER ABOUT 2 YRS AGO. THIS CAR SEEMS TO HAVE SOME MAJOR PROBLEMS AND THERE ARE TSBS ON THIS STUFF, BUT NO RECALLS. THIS LATEST PROBLEM WITH THE BCM WAS VERY SCARY AND DANGEROUS! EVEN THOUGH GETTING REPLACED AT NEARLY $1,000 TO ME, I AM AFRAID OF DRIVING THIS CAR ON THE HIGHWAY. AT 54,000 MILES AND ONLY 2 WEEKS AFTER THE PURCHASE OF THIS VEHICLE THE HEAD GASKET HAD TO BE REPLACED. AFTER ONLY 80,000 MILES THE TRANSMISSION WAS REPLACED. THE BLOWER FOR THE HEAT OR AIR CONDITIONER ONLY WORKS ON THREE OR ABOVE, THE AIR CONDITIONING NO LONGER WORKS, BOTH REAR COIL SPRINGS MUST BE REPLACED, AN OUTER TIEROD IS BAD, TWO REAR BUSHINGS NEED TO BE REPLACED, THE FRONT RIGHT CONTROL ARM IS BROKEN, THE DRIVERS SIDE WINDOW GOES DOWN BUT NOT UP, IT IS LEAKING ANTIFREEZE AND THE TIRES KEEP GOING BAD BECAUSE THEY ARE WEARING INCORRECTLY. SMELLED GAS IN GARAGE AND MOVED OUR BUICK RENDEZVOUS AND FOUND GAS ON THE FLOOR UNDER THE GAS TANK AND SAW GAS DRIPPING FROM THE GAS TANK. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO MY LOCAL REPAIR SHOP. IT WAS DETERMINED AFTER INSPECTION THE GAS TANK HAS FRACTURE AND ALLOWED GAS LEAK. THE REPAIR SHOP LOCATED THE RECALL FROM GM. BUICK ADVISED THE REPAIR SHOP AND MYSELF THE TANK WAS NOT PART OF THE RECALL AND WOULD NOT BE COVERED BY BUICK. I HAD THE REPAIR SHOP REPLACED THE FUEL TANK AT MY COST. FAILURE TO MAKE THE REPAIR COULD HAVE CAUSE A FIRE. EVEN THOUGH THE VIN NUMBER WASN'T PART OF THE RECALL IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN COVERED BY BUICK BECAUSE THE DEFECT WAS CONSISTENT WITH THE DEFECTIVE FUEL TANKS OF THE RECALL. *TR
WE FILLED THE GAS TANK UP AND PARKED IT IN THE HOUSE GARAGE, THAT NIGHT THE HOUSE FILLED WITH THE SMELL OF GAS, LEAKED ON THE FLOOR .THANKFULLY THE GAS WATER HEATED IS OFF THE FLOOR OR ALOT MORE THAN GAS WOULD HAVE BEEN LOST.. THE DEALER STATED THAT IF THEY COULD NOT LOCATE A LEAK IN THE FUEL TANK, THEY WOULD NOT MAKE ANY REPAIRS TO THE VEHICLE. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 48,500.

THE COST OF REPAIRS WERE $926.00. THE MANUFACTURER REIMBURSED HER FOR $383.56 SINCE THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED AT AN AUTHORIZED DEALER. ON MARCH 14, 2008, VEHICLE STARTED DOING THE SAME THINGS THAT LEAD UP TO THIS PART BEING REPLACED. AM TAKING IT IN AGAIN THIS WEEK IF I CAN KEEP IT STARTED. I HAVE EXPERIENCED A SERIES OF MECHANICAL FAILURES ON MY VEHICLE SINCE THE YEAR I PURCHASED IT. THE LATEST INCIDENT WAS 02/15/08 WHEREIN THE LIGHTS ON THE VEHICLE CONSOLE BEGAN TO FLASH...ENGINE COOLANT LIGHT, CHANGE OIL, BATTERY-THE VEHICLE THEN BEGAN TO SLOW DOWN APPROACHING 42MPH (THE CAR HAD REGULAR MAINTENANCE ON 02/08/08). THIS OCCURRED ON HIGHWAY 680 SOUTHBOUND DURING RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN SERVICED REPEATEDLY FOR THE SAME ISSUE WITH NO REMEDY MORE THAN FIVE TIMES. I NOW FEEL AT RISK AND FEEL THE VEHICLE IS A SAFETY HAZARD. THE CAR COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN ON ME 08/30/07 IN TRIPLE DIGIT HEAT ON HIGHWAY 680 NORTHBOUND. I HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR SERVICE. I WAS TOLD THE PROBLEM WAS A FAULTY FUEL FILTER. THE FILTER WAS REPLACED AND THE PROBLEM RECURRED ABOUT 3 OR 4 WEEKS LATER. THE DEALERSHIP AND GM TELL ME THAT SINCE THEY CANNOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM, THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO. THE PREVIOUS TIME I HAD MY VEHICLE SERVICED FOR MECHANICAL FAILURE, MY HUSBAND PICKED THE VEHICLE UP FOR REPAIR AND HE EXPERIENCED THE SAME PROBLEM IMMEDIATELY AFTER PULLING OFF THE DELEARSHIP PROPERTY. ALL OF MY SERVICES HAVE BEEN PERFORMED BY THE SAME DEALERSHIP. ALL OF MY MAINTENANCE IS CURRENT. THERE MUST BE SOME REASONABLE EXPLANATION FOR THIS RECURRING PROBLEM, BUT NO ONE SEEMS TO HAVE AN ANSWER. I HAVE HAD THE COMPUTER/PARTS REPLACED TWICE WITHIN 6 MONTHS, FUEL FILTERS REPLACED, SENSORS REPLACED AND A HOST OF OTHER ITEMS. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2002 BUICK RENDEZVOUS. WHILE DRIVING AT AN UNKNOWN SPEED, THE SECURITY SYSTEM WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED AND CAUSED THE AUTOMATIC WINDOWS, DOORS, AND TRUNK TO LOCK. THE DOOR LOCKS INTERMITTENTLY MOVED FROM THE LOCKED TO UNLOCKED POSITION. THE CONTACT COULD NOT EXIT THE VEHICLE AND ATTEMPTED TO PLACE IT INTO PARK AND TURN OFF THE IGNITION. HOWEVER, SHE WAS STILL UNABLE TO EXIT THE VEHICLE. IN ADDITION, THE RADIO LOCK BUTTON ENABLED AND SHE COULD NOT MOVE IT FROM THE UNLOCK POSITION. THE DEALER INPUT A CODE THAT UNLOCKED ALL THE COMPONENTS THAT WERE AFFECTED BY THE SECURITY SYSTEM.
