I HAVE A 2002 BUICK RENV. AND I BOUGHT IT FROM A USED CAR DEALER IN ALBANY NY, I HAVE HAD TO RETURN THE CAR 2 TIMES FOR DIFFERENT PROBLEMS, ONCE WAS THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT AND IT CAME ON 3 HOURS AFTER I BOUGHT THE CAR, THEY TOLD ME THAT THEY ALREADY TOOK CARE OF IT BUT THEY DID NOT, SO THEY DID FIX THAT, THERE WERE A FEW OTHER PROBLEM THEY FIXED, BUT THE BIG PROBLEM CAME THE OTHER DAY WHEN IT WAS RAINING I CAME OUT TO FIND A LEAKY SUNROOF, SO I TOOK IT TO BE SEALED AND COME TO FIND OUT THE WHOLE ROOF OF THE CAR IS RUSTY, IT NEEDS ALMOST 2,000 DOLLARS WORTH OF WORK, AND THE PEOPLE THAT I TOOK THE CAR TO TRY TO FIX IT TOLD ME THAT THE CAR SHOULD HAVE NEVER BEEN SOLD TO ME, AND TO RETURN THE CAR TO THE DEALER, THIS ROOF COULD CAVE IN, IT IS IN THAT BAD OF SHAPE, THAT IS WHAT I AM TOLD, WHILE THE REPAIR SHOP WAS TRYING TO SEAL IN WHAT THEY COULD, WHILE THIS WAS BEING DONE THE CORNER OF THE ROOF BY THE SUNROOF JUST CAME OFF NOW THERE IS A HOLE IN THE ROOF, HE TOLD ME THAT THE ROOF COULD JUST CRACK ANY TIME, WELL I AM STUCK AND I TRIED TO RETURN THE CAR AND THE DEALER WILL NOT TAKE THE CAR BACK, OR REPAIR IT, I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO, SO I AM HOPING SOMEONE CAN HELP ME HERE. *TR
MY WIFE WAS INVOLVED IN A FATAL ACCIDENT ON JULY 2, 2006. SHE WAS A PROMISING MICRO-BIOLOGIST WHOM WORKED ON CURES FOR OVARIAN CANCER. SHE WAS RAN OFF A ROAD BY ANOTHER DRIVER AND SENT INTO A LINE OF TREES IN OUR BUICK RENDEZVOUS (2002 CX). THE DRIVER-SIDE HEADLIGHT MADE DIRECT CONTACT WITH ONE TREE AND THE FORCE OPENED THE DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR ALLOWING IT TO BE "RIPPED" OFF THE HINGES. THEREBY, EXPOSING HER TO THE NATURAL ELEMENTS AND MAKING HER VULNERABLE TO STRIKE A SECOND TREE THAT BROKE EVERY BONE IN HER FACE AND KILLED HER. I AM CONCERNED BECAUSE WHEN THE 2002 RENDEZVOUS WAS TESTED, IT RECEIVED 3 TO 4 STARS AND THE CONSISTENT PROBLEM THAT AROSE, BASED UPON THE ARTICLE THAT I READ, THE DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR OPENS DURING AN OFFSET FRONTAL ACCIDENT. WE WERE NEVER SENT ANY INFORMATION WHERE BUICK WAS LOOKING INTO THIS DEFECT AND IT ONLY HAD A RECALL ON THE REAR HATCH THAT WE HAD TO HAVE FIXED IN 2003. IF THIS PROBLEM WOULD HAVE POSSIBLY BEEN CORRECTED OR AT LEAST ADDRESSED, I SINCERELY BELIEVE THE OUTCOME OF THE ACCIDENT WOULD HAVE BEEN SLIGHTLY DIFFERENT. PLEASE INVESTIGATE FOR ME. *NM
I OWN A 2002 BUICK RENDEZVOUS AND THE "CHECK ENGINE SOON" LIGHT CAME ON. THE CAR WAS TAKEN TO A GARAGE ON 8/19/05 AND THEY FIXED WHAT THEY THOUGHT WAS THE PROBLEM (R&R FUEL TANK CONNECTION TO CLEAN AND RE-SECURE, HAD WATER IN CONNECTOR). TOTAL COST OF REPAIR WAS $145.07. ON 8/26/05 THE LIGHT CAME ON AGAIN, WE TOOK THE BACK TO THE SAME GARAGE AND THEY FOUND WATER AGAIN IN THE CONNECTOR AND DETERMINED THAT THE WATER WAS COMING FROM THE INSIDE OF THE VEHICLE. THEY DISCOVERED THE WATER WAS COMING FROM THE AIR CONDITIONING DRAIN TUBE. AS LONG AS THE CAR WAS SITTING STILL THE A/C WOULD DRAIN PROPERLY, BUT AT SPEED THE FORCE OF AIR WOULD FORCE THE WATER BACK INTO THE INTERIOR UNDERNEATH THE SEATS WHERE MANY OF THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS ARE, THEREFORE SHORTING THEM OUT. THE SEATS HAD TO TAKEN OUT, THE CARPET HAD TO BE REMOVED AND DRIED OUT AND A NEW A/C DRAIN TUBE WAS INSTALLED. THE EVAPORATOR CASE WAS ALSO RESEALED. TOTAL FOR THIS REPAIR WAS $276.38 UPON ORDERING AND RECEIVING THE NEW DRAIN, THE MECHANIC WAS TOLD THAT THE PART HAD BEEN "UPDATED". THE UPDATED PART HAD A SLIGHT BEND IN IT NOW, AND THE OLD WAS JUST A STRAIGHT PIECE. MY COMPLAINT IS, IF A PIECE NEEDED TO BE UPDATED OBVIOUSLY SOMETHING WAS WRONG WITH THE ORIGINAL DESIGN AND I THE CONSUMER SHOULD NOT HAVE PAY FOR THE DAMAGES OR REPAIRS DUE TO A FAULTY PART. THE ODOMETER READ IMPROPERLY AND AS A RESULT THE VEHICLES MILEAGE WAS INCORRECT.*AK
JUST OPENING A BUICK RENDEZVOUS DOOR CAUSED A $900 DOLLARS DAMAGE. WE OPENED THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR OF OUR NEW BUICK RENDEZVOUS 2002. IT WAS A WINDY DAY AND THE DOOR WENT TOO FAR BENDING THE HINGES AND CAUSING DAMAGE TO THE FRONTAL BODY PART OF THE VEHICLE. APPARENTLY, THE DOORS HAVE NO DOOR BRAKE AND THEREFORE, THIS TYPE OF DAMAGE COULD EASILY OCCUR. (SEE WWW.BUICK.8K.COM) THE DEALER WAS ALL TOO FAMILIAR WITH THE PHENOMENA. IN FACT, HE SAID, THAT MORNING HE HAD THE SAME PROBLEM WITH 3 OTHER CUSTOMERS. BUICK REFUSED TO FIX OUR VEHICLE. *LA
DRIVER DOOR HINGE WEAKENED WHICH CAUSED THE DOOR TO BECOME SPRUNG. IT RUBBED AGAINST THE FRONT FENDER AND CAUSED IT TO BEND. CAR HAD 25,109 MILES ON IT AND WAS UNDER WARRANTY. BUICK REFUSED TO HONOR THE WARRANTY. *TT
WHILE PULLING A SMALL TRAILER, REAR FRAME TORE FROM THE BODY FRAME. DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOTIFIED.*AK *MJ
SLIGHT WIND BENT DRIVER DOOR AND BENT HINGE. THERE ARE NO RESTRAINTS TO KEEP DOOR FROM OPENING BEYOND THE BENDING POINT. THAN A WEEK LATER IT HAPPENED AGAIN. BUICK WOULD NOT WARRANTY THE BENT HINGES. CUSTOMER OUT $400.00 FOR 2 REPAIRS HOWEVER BUICK WELDED THE HINGE.*AK

THE TAILGATE HATCH OPENED WHILE BEING DRIVEN. THE DEALER STATED THAT THERE WAS NOTHING HE COULD DO. THE CONSUMER REQUESTED A REPLACEMENT VEHICLE OR A BUY BACK. THE LEFT FRONT DOOR HAD A WINDING SOUND, CAN SEE A GAP, AND DID NOT OPEN PROPERLY. THE HINGES WERE ADJUSTED. THE HEATED SEAT WAS INOPERATIVE. THE REAR HATCH LIGHT HAD COME ON WHEN GOING OVER BUMPY ROADS, AND THE REAR HATCH SWITCH WAS STICKING. THE REAR HATCH SWITCH WAS REPLACED, AND THE LIFTGATE LOCK ASSEMBLY WAS REPLACED. SCC
THIS VEHICLE WAS STRUCK ON THE SIDE AT THE LEFT REAR QUARTER PANEL, AS A RESULT THE RIGHT RAR SEAT COLLAPSED RESULTING IN THE OCCUPANT SUTAINING SERIOUS INTERNAL INURIES, THE REAR LIFTGATE LATCH REMAINED ENGAGED BUT SEPARATED FROM THE BODY (TORN FROM FIBERGLASS) RESULTING IN OCCUPANT EJECTION. NLM
WATER ENTERS INSIDE OF VEHICLE AND CAUSES THE CARPET IN FRONT TO BECOME SOAKED. MECHANIC NOTICED AN OPENING NEAR FRONT AND REPAIRED IT. *AK *JG
