WHILE DRIVING CONSUMER'S VEHICLE SWERVED BECAUSE THERE WAS A DEER IN THE ROAD, AND WENT INTO A DITCH , AFTER GAINING CONTROL VEHICLE STRUCK A CONCRETE ABUTMENT HEAD ON. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY.*AK
THE CONSUMER WAS PARKING THE VEHICLE WHEN THE GAS PEDAL BECAME STUCK CAUSING THE CONSUMER TO CRASH INTO A BUILDING HEAD ON. UPON IMPACT THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. CONSUMER SUSTAINED INJURIES AND WAS HOSPITALIZED. *AK *NM
CONSUMER HEARD THE LUGS/ NUTS AND BOLTS JIGGLING IN THE WHEEL WELL. A BOLT AND LUG NUT ON REAR DRIVER'S SIDE TIRE SNAPPED OFF WHILE DRIVING. VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN TO A DEALERSHIP, WHO INSPECTED THE BOLTS/ LUGS, AND NUTS, AND NOTICED THAT ANOTHER LUG NUT ON THE SAME TIRE WAS STARTING TO SEPARATE. THE LUG NUTS AND BOLTS WERE REPLACED. TWO WEEKS LATER THEN THE FAILURE OCCURRED ON THE PASSENGER SIDE REAR TIRE . DEALERSHIP INDICATED THIS OCCURRED BECAUSE OF THE RIMS. THE TIRES WERE ROTATED BY THIS DEALERSHIP TWO WEEKS PRIOR TO THE INCIDENTS.*AK
CONSUMER STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING VEHICLE SHUT DOWN. CONSUMER TOOK VEHICLE TO THE DEALER. IT WAS TEST DRIVEN, BUT COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. *AK
WHILE MAKING A RIGHT OR LEFT HAND TURN THE POWER STEERING WHEEL FAILS TO RETURN TO ITS ORIGINAL CENTER POSITION. THE PROBLEM IS IN FACT CONTINUOUS. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN TAKEN TO THE DEALER, IN WHICH THE DEALER WAS ABLE TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. THE DEALER ACKNOWLEDGE A PROBLEM EXIST, HOWEVER, THE DEALER STATED THE PROBLEM CAN'T BE RESOLVED BECAUSE THE PROBLEM IS INHERIT WITH THESE VEHICLES. THE MANUFACTURE FAILS TO ACKNOWLEDGE THE PROBLEM. PLEASE PROVIDE DETAILS.
REAR DIFFERENTIAL WHINES. *NM
THE VEHICLE RAN OVER A DEER WHILE DRIVING BETWEEN 60-65 MPH AND THE ENTIRE ROOF FLEXED AROUND THE SUNROOF. THE BODY SHOP INDICATED THIS OCCURRED BECAUSE THE ROOF WAS NOT ENFORCED PROPERLY AT THE FACTORY. *LA
RADIO FOR THE CTS INTERMITTENTLY LOSES AUDIO FOR AM,FM AND CD FUNCTIONS. THE RADIO HAS BEEN BROUGHT IN FOR REPAIR SEVERAL TIMES, ONLY TO BE REPROGRAMMED. THERE IS AN APPARENT SOFTWARE PROBLEM THAT HAS NOT BEEN IDENTIFIED BY GENERAL MOTORS CADILLAC DIVISION. *NM
THE FRONT AND BACK BUMPER ARE NOT THE SAME COLOR AS THE REST OF THE CAR. THERE ARE ALSO DEFECTS WITH THE OVERALL PAINT FINISH - THERE ARE DARK BLOTCHY SPOTS. THE VEHICLE WARRANTY HANDBOOK CALLS THE CONDITION "CHEMICAL PAINT SPOTTING." THE NEW CAR LIMITED WARRANTY COVERS THE OVERALL PAINT FINISH, BUT THE GM REPRESENTATIVE SAYS THAT ALTHOUGH THEY ARE AWARE OF THE PROBLEM, THEY WILL NOT DO ANY REPAIRS. I WAS CHARGED $995 [UNDER OPTIONS INSTALLED BY MANUFACTURER] FOR THIS WHITE DIAMOND PAINT FINISH.*AK
THE DIMMER SWITCH STAYS ON, AND CONSUMER WOULD BE UNABLE TO SEE THE INSTRUMENT PANEL DURING DAYTIME. THE DEALERSHIP WAS NOTIFIED, BUT DID NOT RESOLVE THE PROBLEM.*AK
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED THE TRANSMISSION BECAME STUCK IN REVERSE WHILE BACKING OUT OF A PARKING SPACE. THE VEHICLE EXCESSIVELY INCREASED IN SPEED WITHOUT WARNING, SPUN THREE TIMES AND COLLIDED WITH A PARKED VEHICLE. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY, AND BOTH PASSENGERS INCURRED PINCHED NERVE INJURIES AND MILD SPINAL INJURIES IN THE COLLISION. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A SERVICE DEALER WHERE ONLY THE BODY OF THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. SINCE THIS INCIDENT, THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN EXCHANGED FOR A DIFFERENT VEHICLE. UPDATED
SEVERE SIDE IMPACT, BOTH DRIVER SIDE DOORS AND CENTER PILLAR CRUSHED. SIDE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY.
OIL LEAKING FROM REAR DIFF IN 2004. DEALER REPLACED SEAL, BUT LEAKED AGAIN IN 2006 AND DEALER THEN REPLACED REAR DIFF. THEN IN 2007 A SEAL ON THE NEW DIFF LEAKED AND WAS REPLACED. IT APPEARS THAT THE REAR DIFF IS IMPROPERLY DESIGNED AND WILL CONTINUE TO FAIL OUTSIDE MY WARRANTY PERIOD. IN MY OPINION, THE REAR DIFF IS THE ONLY DESIGN PROBLEM WITH THE 2004 CTS. *JB
CONSUMER STATED WHILE DRIVING AT 55-MPH VEHICLE STALLED, CAUSING CONSUMER TO PULL OFF THE ROAD. DEALER INSPECTED VEHICLE SEVERAL TIMES, BUT COULD NOT DUPLICATE OR CORRECT THE PROBLEM . *AK
UNDER POWER THE REAR SUSPENSION RATTLES UP AGAINST THE FLOOR. IT SOUNDS LIKE ITS FALLING APART WHICH PROMPTS YOU TO STAB THE BRAKES UPON HEARING IT. *JB
EMISSION TEST FAILURE. 2004 CADILLAC CTS. 875 MILES ON ODOMETER JUST PICKED UP FROM DEALER BROUGHT BACK FOLLOWING DAY FOR INSPECTION STICKER,WOULD NOT PASS EMISSIONS TEST. TOLD BY DEALER VEHICLE HAD BLOCKED CATALYTIC CONVERTER AND NEED REPLACEMENT. *JB
SEVERAL ISSUES WITH THE 2004 CADILLAC TO REPORT. #1 (MOST SIGNIFICANT) THE REAR SEAT CHILD SEAT LATCH MECHANISM DOES NOT WORK. I HAD THIS INSPECTED BY THE DEALERSHIP AND THEN ADMITTED THAT THE DESIGN IS DEFECTIVE AND WILL NOT PROPERLY LATCH AND HOLD THE BELT. ANY WIGGLING OF THE SEAT WILL LOOSEN THE BELT THROUGH THE LATCH. THE CADI DOES NOT HAVE A LOCK TYPE MECHANISM WHERE YOU PULL THE BELT ALL THE WAY OUT AND THEN IT WON'T GIVE. THEY CLAIM THE LATCH MECHANISM WILL HOLD. I DROVE AROUND FOR TWO WEEKS WITH A TWO YEAR OLD IN A FOUR INCH SLACKED CAR SEAT. #2 - REMAINING MILES DISPLAY IS DEFECTIVE. I RECENTLY RAN OUT OF GAS WHEN THE DISPLAY READ "41 MILES REMAINING". THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT ADMITTED THAT THIS IS THE SIXTH TIME THEY HAVE SEEN THIS AND THAT I SHOULD US THE GAUGE AND NOT THE DISPLAY. WHAT IS THE POINT OF THE DISPLAY? VERY DANGEROUS! I WAS STRANDED ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD IN A SNOW STORM FOR OVER AN HOUR. #3 - BOSE CD PLAYER HAS ERRORED OVER 20 TIMES AND LOCKS UP WITH AN "INITIALIZING CD" ERROR. NOT COMMON TO ANY ONE CD. CD PLAYER WILL LOCK UP AND WILL BE UNUSABLE FOR FIVE MINUTES TO TWO DAYS. *JB
REAR DIFFERENTIAL WHINE FROM 45 MPH AFTER VEHICLE HAS DRIVEN AT LEAST 5 MILES.*AK
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 CADILLAC CTS. WHILE DRIVING 10 MPH, SHE HEARD A RUMBLING NOISE UNDER THE VEHICLE AS IF IT WERE UNSTABLE. INSTABILITY WHILE DRIVING INCREASED THE RISK OF A VEHICLE CRASH. THE DEALER REPLACED ALL FOUR TIRES; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RESURFACED. AN AUTHORIZED TECHNICIAN CONCLUDED THAT THE DIFFERENTIALS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. NO REPAIRS HAVE BEEN MADE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 35,000. THE CURRENT MILEAGE IS 118,000.
HAVE A NOISE IN REAR-END WHEN ACCELERATING UP TO SPEEDS. WHEN LETTING UP ON ACCERLATOR NOISE QUITS, BUT AS SOON AS I GIVE IT GAS IT HUMS( LIKE) VERY LOUD. HAVE HAD TWO CADILLAC DEALERS CHECK IT AND TOLD NOT TO WORRY ABOUT IT NOTHING IS WRONG AND THAT , THAT' IS THE CHARACTERISTIC OF THE 2004 CTS. THIS IS HARD FOR ME TO BELIEVE SINCE I HAVE HAD 8 CADILLAC OVER THE YEARS AND HAVE NEVER HAD A PROBLEM OF THIS NATURE.*AK
FLOOR MATS THAT COME WITH THE CADILLAC CTS DO NOT STAY IN PLACE, THEY GET PUSHED FORWARD UNDER THE BREAK AND GAS PEDDLE PREVENTING ACCELERATION AND STOPPING.
WHEN APPLYING BRAKES PEDAL WOULD GO TO THE FLOOR RESULTING IN EXTENDED STOPPING DISTANCE. DEALER HAS BEEN NOTIFIED. THE DEALER REPLACED THE MASTER CYLINDER BUT THE PROBLEM STILL EXISTED. THE DEALER THEN BLED THE SYSTEM . IT APPEARED THAT THE BRAKES WERE IMPROPERLY BLED DURING FACTORY ASSEMBLY*AK *NLM
CONSUMER HAS CONCERN WITH THE SAFETY BELT. THE SAFETY BELT DOES NOT UTILIZE A RATCHETING STYLE SAFETY BELT HARNESS. THE CONSUMER HAD A PROFESSIONAL INSTALL HIS CHILD'S SAFETY SEAT BUT THE BELT WOULD ONLY HOLD TEMPORARILY. ANY WIGGLING OF THE SEAT CAUSED INCHES OF SLACK. *NM
2004 CADILLAC CTS HAVING PROBLEMS WITH REAR DIFFERENTIAL.*MR THE REAR DIFFERENTIAL HAS BEEN REPLACED TWICE. THE MANUFACTURERINDICATED THAT THE LOUD HUMMING NOISE COMING FROM THE REAR DIFFEENTIAL WAS NORMAL. *NM
DRIVER SIDE AIR BAG DEPLOYED WHEN THE CONSUMER TURNED THE KEY IN THE IGNITION ON THE 2004 CADILLAC CTS.*MR THE CONSUMER SUSTAINED A BROKEN NOSE. THE AIR BAG DEPLOY INADVERTENTLY PRIOR TO THE CONSUMER RECEIVING THE RECALL NOTICE 05V-024000. THE CONSUMER WAS TOLD THAT IT WAS GOING TO TAKE A WEEK FOR THE REPLACEMENT PART TO ARRIVE AT THE DEALER. *NM
2004 CADILLAC CTS. CONSUMER WANTS TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENED WITH THE INVESTIGATION ON THE 2004-2005 CADILLAC CTS-V. *NJ THE CONSUMER STATED HE DROVE THE VEHICLE ABOUT 200 MILES BEFORE THE REAR END NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER INFORMED THE CONSUMER THEY WERE NOT AWARE OF ANY PROBLEMS WITH THE LIMITED SLIP DIFFERENTIAL. *JB
DEALERSHIP FAILED TO ENSURE THAT BOTH FRONT ANCHOR TABS ARE FULLY SEATED IN THE FLOOR AS STATED IN THE RECALL 03 V 346 000 FOR THE FRONT BUCKET SEAT ATTACHMENT. INSTEAD, THE DEALERSHIP INSTRUCTED THE CONSUMER TO PLACE THE RECALL LETTER IN THE GLOVE COMPARTMENT.*AK
PROBLEMS GETTING RECALL REPAIR ON ANCHORAGE OF SEATS PERFORMED.*MR CONSUMER TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP TWICE AND TO NO AVAIL WAS THE WORK PERFORMED. THE FIRST TIME, THE CONSUMER WAS TOLD THE VEHICLE WASN'T SERVICED YET. THE SECOND TIME, THE MECHANIC STOOD OUTSIDE THE VEHICLE AND STATED HE RESEARCH THE INFORMATION AND NOTHING WAS WRONG WITH HER VEHICLE. THE RECALL LETTER SHE RECEIVED WAS TO BE PLACED IN THE OWNER'S MANUAL. THE RECALL LETTER STATES THAT THE "VEHICLES HAVE A CONDITION WHERE ONE OR BOTH FRONT ANCHOR TABS FOR THE FRONT SEATS MAY NOT BE ENGAGED IN THE FLOOR PAN REINFORECEMENT SLOTS. IF THE VEHICLE IS IN A VEHICLE CRASH, THE SEAT(S) COULD PIVOT REARWARD, RESULTING IN POSSIBLE INCREASED INJURY TO ITS OCCUPANT OR A REAR SEAT OCCUPANT. *PH
