fuel pump was failed replaced under recall back in 2016. Now again the fuel pump has failed again vehicle stalled. Please have GM repair it again under previous recall remedy. Please see attached photo
WENT TO JIFFY LUBE TO GET ENGINE OIL CHANGED. ON THE WAY HOME MY CAR STARTED TO STALL, THEN SHUT OFF. TOOK IT TO THE GMC CADILLAC DEALER AND THEY STATED I NEEDED A NEW FUEL PUMP, AND THAT THERE IS A LEAK. I SEARCHED ONLINE AND THERE IS NUMEROUS RECALLS FOR THIS EXACT SITUATION, HOWEVER MY VEHICLE IS NOT UNDER THIS RECALL. *TR
THERE WAS A CAMPAIGN NUMBER 14V-542. FOR CTS-V RECENTLY NOT FOR CTS FOR THE SAME PROBLEM. WE HAD NO ALARM INDICATING THAT FUEL PUMP WAS FAULTY. AFTER VERIFICATION AT THE DEALER WE WERE TOLD THE FUEL PUMP MODULE MELTED. THEY DID NOT UNDERSTAND WHY THE CAR DID NOT CATCH ON FIRE. THE ONLY INDICATION WE HAD WAS A STRONG SMELL OF GASOLINE. THE GARAGE REPLACED FUEL PUMP MODULE AND CONNECTION. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 CADILLAC CTS. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING 75 MPH THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY STALLED. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO PULL TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A DEALER. THE DEALER STATED THE FUEL SENDING UNIT MALFUNCTIONED, PREVENTING FUEL TO REACH THE ENGINE. THE DEALER STATED THE FUEL SENDING UNIT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AND THE ENGINE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AS WELL. THE CONTACT STATED THE VEHICLE WAS UNSAFE TO DRIVE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 55,000.
FUEL TANK SHOWING FULL TANK OF GAS. DRIVING NORMALLY, CAR SUDDENLY DIES, NO POWER TO STEERING OR GAS PEDAL. PULLED OVER TO SIDE OF ROAD, CALLED ONSTAR, POLICE AND TOW TRUCK SUMMONED TO SCENE. TOW TRUCK TOWED ME TO NEAREST CADILLAC DEALERSHIP, CAR LEFT OVER THE WEEKEND. MONDAY MORNING DEALER CALLS TO SAY FUEL PUMP IS DEFECTIVE, AND THAT TANK WAS BONE DRY, EVEN THOUGH GAUGE WAS REPORTING 100% FULL...THIS ALL A RESULT OF THE FUEL PUMP PROBLEM. CAR ONLY HAS 6,200 KILOMETERS (ABOUT 3,500 MILES). FUEL PUMP WAS REPLACED, HOWEVER FUEL RANGE STILL REPORTING RIDICULOUS VALUES, JUMPS ALL OVER THE PLACE, GAUGE STILL NOT ACCURATE, AM AFRAID OF LOSING POWER AND THAT THE GAS WILL RUN OUT WITHOUT MY KNOWING IT. *NM
DT: THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE IT STALLED AND COULD NOT BE RESTARTED. THE VEHICLE HAD TO BE TOWED TO THE DEALER. THE DEALER INSPECTED THE VEHICLE AND DETERMINED THE GAS TANK WAS DEFECTIVE. THE GAS TANK WAS BENT, AND THE FUEL COULD NOT GET TO THE ENGINE.
