THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. AN UNKNOWN DEALER WAS CONTACTED AND CONFIRMED THAT THE PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE FOR THE RECALL REMEDY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AT 800-458-8006, BUT THE CALL WOULD NOT CONNECT, THE CONTACT BELIEVED THE PHONE NUMBER NO LONGER WORKED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.

NO REMEDY FOR AIR BAG RECALL - RECALL ISSUED IN 2016. *TR

THE CONTACT RECEIVED THE RECALL NOTICE IN MAY OF 2016. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND STATED THAT ADDITIONAL TESTING WAS COMPLETED BY A THIRD PARTY, AND THE VEHICLES WERE CONSIDERED SAFE. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 CADILLAC ESCALADE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE SERVICE STABILITY TRACTION CONTROL WARNING LIGHT FLASHED AND REMAINED ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED. THE VEHICLE WAS THEN TAKEN TOA DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THERE WAS A LEAK IN THE CV BOOTS. THE DEALER REPLACED THE CV BOOTS BUT THE FAILURE CONTINUED SHORTLY AFTER THE REPAIR. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS AWAITING A DIAGNOSIS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 70,000.
TAKATA RECALL LETTER RECEIVED FROM GM CADILLAC NEARLY 2 (OR 2+) YEARS AGO. HAVE BEEN TO TOM PEACOCK DEALERSHIP THAT I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE FROM EVERY 4-6 MONTHS SINCE THEN. TOLD EVERY TIME THAT THEY CAN'T HELP, THEY DON'T KNOW WHEN REPLACEMENTS BAGS WILL BE IN. I PURCHASED MY VEHICLE FROM GM CADILLAC - NOT TAKATA. I WANT GM CADILLAC TO REPLACE THESE DEFECTIVE AIR BAGS IMMEDIATELY.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 CADILLAC ESCALADE. WHILE DRIVING 65 MPH AND ATTEMPTING TO DEPRESS THE BRAKE PEDAL, THE BRAKES BECAME INOPERABLE AND THE TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE SUSPENSION FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. CRACKED DASHBOARD ON 2 OUT OF EVERY 3 GM SUV / TRUCKS. MINE IS ONE OF THEM. IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE THAT IF I WERE INVOLVED IN A CRASH, WOULD MY AIRBAG DEPLOY PROPERLY, WOULD THE DASH SHATTER INTO TINY PIECES AND BE LIKE SHRAPNEL. GM KNOWS THAT THIS IS A HUGE PROBLEM WITH MOST 2007-PRESENT SUV / TRUCKS DASHES. TAKATA AIRBAG INFLATORS RECALL
THE REAR HATCH WAS OPENED WITH THE AUTOMATIC BUTTON, IT RAISED TO THE OPEN POSITION. AS I WAS PUTTING IN OUR STROLLER THE HATCH FELL AND STRUCK ME IN THE HEAD. I PUSHED THE HATCH UP TO GET FROM UNDERNEATH IT, AND WHEN I LET GO IT FELL WITH NO RESISTANCE. WHILE FALLING SHUT THE HATCH HIT THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE BUMPER CUT OUT AND SLIGHTLY BENT THE HATCH AND SCRATCHED THE INSIDE OF THE BUMPER. THE HATCH WOULD NO-LONGER OPEN AFTER THAT. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE THEY FORCED THE DOOR OPEN SO I COULD RETRIEVE ARTICLES FROM THE REAR. I A CHILD OR SHORTER PERSON WAS UNDER THE HATCH IT MAY HAVE CAUSED SERIOUS INJURY TO THEM, DUE TO THE FORCE WITH WHICH THE HATCH CAME DOWN. *TR
THIS COMPLAINT IS A GENERAL COMPLAINT ABOUT THE NEW TYPE OF HEADLIGHTS THAT SHINE A PIERCING BLUE COLOR. WHEN VEHICLES WITH THIS NEW TYPE OF HEADLIGHT APPROACH, IT INTERFERES WITH NIGHT DRIVING VISION. I CAN TOLERATE ONE OR TWO OF THESE TYPE HEADLIGHTS COMING AT ME AT NIGHT, BUT IF SOMEDAY THERE ARE DOZENS OF THEM IN ONCOMING TRAFFIC IT WILL NOT BE SAFE TO DRIVE. VISION WILL BE IMPAIRED. SON WAS SERIOUSLY HURT AT AIRPORT LUGGAGE CLAIMS WHEN A POWER REAR CARGO DOOR WAS CLOSING CAME DOWN ON HIS HEAD AND FACE WITH OUT WARNING OF ANY KIND THAT THIS DOOR WAS CLOSING. THE DOOR IS SO LARGE AND HEAVY. IT COMES DOWNS TO FAST AND DOES NOT RETRACT BACK UP WHEN IT HITS SOMETHING. THE DRIVER HAD NO WARNING THAT A PERSON WAS BEHIND HIM AS HE CLOSED THE DOOR. THIS IS A VERY SERIOUS PROBLEM THAT WILL KILL SOMEONE AND SHOULD BE CORRECTED. THE DOOR NEEDS TO BE CHANGE SO THAT IT CANNOT OPEN FROM OVERHEAD. THIS DOOR IS TO LARGE AND HEAVY TO HAVE SOMETHING COMING DOWN FROM THAT DISTANCE. THE IS DOOR SUSPENDER IN AIR ABOVE THE TOP OF THE ESCALADE. THIS IS A VERY VERY SERIOUS SAFETY PROBLEM SOMEONE WILL BE KILLED ARE LOSE BODY PARTS IF THIS DESIGN IS NOT CHANGED. THIS A VERY POOR DESIGN AND IT SHOULD NEVER BEEN PUT ON AN VEHICLE . *TR
