HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY DEVELOPED CONDESATION AND LIGHT FAILED
WHILE DRIVING MY VEHICLE ON THE HIGHWAY I HAD A HARD TIME TO SEE THE HIGHWAY & THE PANEL ON MY DASH CAME ON SAYING MY RIGHT LOW BEAM LAMP NEEDED TO BE CHECKED. I DROVE HOME VERY CAREFULLY & PARKED MY CAR. THE NEXT DAY J BROUGHT MY CAR TO SEE ABOUT GETTING THE LAMP FIXED & THEY TOLD ME I NEEDED A WHOLE NEW LIGHT ASSEMBLY. I'VE READ IN THE INTERNET THAT HUNDREDS IF NOT THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE ARE HAVING THIS SAME PROBLEM IN THEIR CADILLAC SRX 2011. I THINK IF THAT MANY PEOPLE ARE HAVING THESE PROBLEMS THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL IN THIS MAKE & MODEL CAR. IT WILL COST OVER $1400 TO FIX IT. THEY SAID THERE IS CONDENSATION/WATER WHICH CAUSED IT TO GO OUT ITS. IT SEALED CORRECTLY
MY SUNROOF HAS HAD LEAKY DRAINS ON BOTH SIDES AND CAUSED OVER $3,000 IN REPAIRS. I BELIEVE THE 2012 WAS RECALLED BUT NOT THE 2011. IT STOPPED MY CAR FROM DRIVING APPROPRIATELY, THE TRUNK WOULD NO LONGER OPEN, AND THE CAR ALARM TO ALERT FOR ROBBERY OF THE VEHICLE WHILE DRIVING. THIS CAUSED ME TO HAVE TO REPLACE MY PUMPS ON THE DRIVER SIDE OF THE CAR AND THE COMPUTER / ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. THIS REPAIR COST CLOSE TO $2,000. THEN ABOUT 14 MONTHS LATER; THE PASSENGER SIDE SUNROOF LEAK OCCURRED AND CAUSED FLOODING ON THE PASSENGER SIDE OF MY CAR. THIS LED TO MOLD AND A CLEAN OF THE CAR TO ALLOW ME TO BREATH IN MY CAR. THIS REPAIR COST OVER $1,000.
THE HEADLIGHTS ARE BOTH FULL OF MOISTURE AND THEY KEEP SHORTING OUT AND DON'T WORK ALLO THE TIME.I CALLED CADILLAZC DEALER AND THEY WANT $4500.00 TO REPLACE THEM.I CAN N OT GET AFTER MARKET HEADLIGHTS.THEY HAVE MOTORS IN THEM WHICH MOVE WHEN CAR TURNS.I HEARD THAT THERE IS A DEFECT IN IN THEM AN D GM HAS NOT SAID ANYTHING ABOUT IT .NOT SURE IF THIS IS GTRUE OR NOT BUT I CAN'T SEE THE PRICE TO REPLACE THEM AND IM DISABLED ,RETIRFED AND SOUN DS LIKE THE PRICE IS OUT OF THIS WORLD AND FEEL LIKE THEY ARE PRICE GOUGING!!!! TOOK THEM APART AN D DRIED THEM OUT BUT MOISTURE CAME RIGHT BACK IN BOTH HEADLIGHTS AGAIN.CAN NOT SEE ANY DEFECTS IN LIGHTS BUT MOISTURE IS STILL GETTING IN AND CAUSING LIGHTS NOT TO WORK.BEEN DRIVING AROUND WITH FOG LIGHTS BUT I NO THIS IS NOT SAFE AND SOMETHING IS WRONG FOR BOTH LIGHTS TO FILL UP WITH MOISTURE.CADILLAC DEALER (HILL CADILLAC IN NEWTOWN SQUARE PA SAID THEY ARE NOT COVERED UNDER EXTENDED WARRANTY AND CAR ONLY HAS 50,000 PLUS MILES ON IT AND HEADLIGHTS FILL UP WITH MOISTURE AND SHORT OUT.THE PRICE TO REPLACE THEM IS OUTRAGIOUS AND HEARD THAT STILL MIGHT NOT CORRECT IT????
CANNOT HEAR SOUNDS WHEN USE TURN SIGNAL LEVEL I.E. SHOULD CLICK...CANNOT HEAR RADIO, AGAIN SOUND ISSUE,... BELT UNFASTENED SOUND INDICATOR DOES NOT WORK...DOOR AJAR SOUND INDICATOR DOES NOT WORK. YOU CANNOT HEAR ANYTHING. TYPICALLY STATIONARY AND IN MOTION THE SOUND INDICATORS DO NOT WORK TURNING ANY DIRECTION AND DRIVING ON HIGHWAY OR CITY STREETS SAME ISSUE OCCURS. SINCE THIS IS SUMMER NO IDEA IF WEATHER IS A FACTOR. OCCURS WHETHER CAR IS ON, STATIONARY, OR MOVING.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 CADILLAC SRX. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH, BOTH FRONT HEADLIGHTS WERE DIMLY LIT, WHICH MADE IT DIFFICULT TO SEE THE ROAD AND TRAFFIC AHEAD. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO CHEVROLET OF TURNERSVILLE (3400 NJ-42, TURNERSVILLE, NJ 08012, (856) 516-6100) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE PARTS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 7,000.
I OWN A 2011 CADILLAC SRX 66,000 MILES, IT HAS BEEN IN OUR FAMILY SINCE IT WAS PURCHASED NEW AT CAMARGO CADILLAC. I TOOK IT IN TODAY FOR SIMPLE OIL CHANGE AND TIRE ROTATION. I WAS INFORMED BY PHONE THAT MY HEADLIGHT WAS OUT ON THE DRIVER SIDE, NEWS TO ME. THIS CAR HAS A CATASTROPHIC DEFECT IN THE HEADLAMPS AND I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE TO EXPERIENCE IT. THERE ARE NUMEROUSREPORTS OF THIS ISSUE ONLINE, WHERE CONDENSATION BUILDS IN HEADLAMP AND CAUSES FAILURE. AM I NOT SUPPOSE TO DRIVE MY LUXURY VEHICLE IN THE RAIN OR TAKE IT TO THE CAR WASH? I FIRST EXPERIENCED THIS ON MY PASSENGER SIDE LIGHT IN LATE 2015, LIGHT FAILED WHILE DRIVING AND THE WHOLE HEADLAMP HAD TO BE REPLACED. NOW A YEAR LATER WE ARE GOING THROUGH THE SAME ISSUE WITH THE DRIVER SIDE. I ASSUME THIS WILL FALL ON DEAF EARS AS NO ONE WANTS TO DO ANYTHING TO ASSIST WITH THIS ISSUE FROM DEALERS TO GM CUSTOMER SERVICE. 1300.00 FORA NEW HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY FOR SECOND TIME ON A CAR 6 YEARS OLD, UNHEARD OF ! I HAVE OWNED SEVERAL VEHICLES AT THE AGE OF 46, AND HAVE NEVER HAD TO HAVE 1 LET ALONE 2 HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY'S REPLACED. GM HAS AN ISSUE AND SHOULD OWN UP TO IT ! .WHAT WAS EVEN MORE AGGRAVATING WAS THE NON-CHALANT ATTITUDE AT THEJEFF WYLER CADILLAC DEALERSHIP AND WITH GMCUSTOMER SERVICE, AS IF THIS WAS NORMAL AND I WAS CRAZY. HONESTLY TAKE A POLE OF GM EMPLOYEES HOW MANY OF THEM /OR THEIR FAMILY MEMBERS HAVE HAD / AND WOULD BE OKAY WITHPAYING FOR 2 HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY'S REPLACEMENTS ON THEIR 6 YEAR OLD LUXURY VEHICLE ?????

THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO JBA CHEVROLET DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE SUSPENSION FAILED AND THE HEAD LAMPS WERE LEAKING. THE SUSPENSION AND HEAD LAMPS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND OPENED CASE NUMBER: 8/29942455009. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 70,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 CADILLAC SRX. WHILE RAINING, THE WELL IN THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE FILLED WITH WATER, WHICH FLOODED THE REAR ELECTRICAL SYSTEM IN THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE RESULTED IN THE LIFTGATE NOT FUNCTIONING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE ELECTRONIC MODULES IN THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VEHICLE WAS PREVIOUSLY SERVICED PER A MANUFACTURER'S COMMUNICATION (G-208314) AND FURTHER ASSISTANCE WOULD NOT BE PROVIDED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 70,000.
WATER INTRUSION INTO HEADLAMP CAUSED BALLAST AND BULB TO SHORT OUT.
MY HEADLIGHTS ARE DIM AND HAVE MOISTURE IN THEM. THE VEHICLE IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE AT NIGHT I CANNOT SEE AT ALL USING MY VEHICLE WHEN IT'S DARK.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS PREVIOUSLY REPAIRED AT MAX DYE CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM GMC (1501 W MAIN ST, SALEM, IL 62881 (618) 548-2343) HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED A YEAR LATER. THE PART WAS ORDERED FROM THE MANUFACTURER AND REINSTALLED BY AN UNKNOWN MECHANIC HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED THREE MONTHS LATER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND INFORMED OF THE FAILURE BUT OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 110,000.
MY SRX HAS WHINING NOISE IN THE FRONT DRIVERS SIDE FRONT WHEEL WHEN DRIVING. *TR
LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS ARE VERY DIM AND DANGEROUS TO DRIVE AT NIGHT. SUNROOF LEAKS WATER, THIRD BRAKE LIGHT OUT AND BACK UP CAMERA STOP WORKING.
THE PASSENGER SIDE HEADLIGHT HAS A LOT OF CONDENSATION IN IT AND RESTRICTS THE AMOUNT OF LIGHT BEING PUT OUT. THE DRIVER SIDE ALSO HAS MOISTURE BUT NOT AS MUCH AS THE PASSENGER. THE PASSENGER TAIL LIGHT DOES NOT WORK WHEN THE LIGHTS ARE ON. NO ACCIDENTS THAT I AM AWARE OF.

THE HEADLIGHT BULB WAS REPLACED SEVERAL TIMES BY CLASSIC CADILLAC OF MONTGOMERY (833 EASTERN BYPASS, MONTGOMERY, AL 36117, (334) 625-1813); HOWEVER, THE FAILURE WAS NOT CORRECTED. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE DRIVER'S SIDE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED BECAUSE IT HAD MOISTURE INSIDE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 73,000.
RIGHT HEADLIGHT FOGGING AND CONDENSATION WITHIN SEALED BEAM IN FOG, RAIN AND SNOW CONDITIONS.

WHILE THE TIRES WERE BEING ROTATED, THE TECHNICIAN SUGGESTED HAVING THEM INSPECTED BY A QUALIFIED MICHELIN TECHNICIAN. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A MICHELIN DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT ALL FOUR TIRES SHOWED SIGNS OF ROTTING AND CRACKING IN THE TREADS. THE TIRES WERE NOT REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE TIRE AND VEHICLE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 21,814. THE DOT NUMBER WAS NOT AVAILABLE.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 62,000.
THIS IS THE 2ND TIME FOR THIS REPAIR... THE BACK HATCH WON'T LIFT, THE SUNROOF WON'T OPEN, THE BACKUP CAMERA IS FOGGY, AND THE DOOR LOCKS WON'T ENGAGE WHEN THE VEHICLE IS PUT IN GEAR. ONCE AGAIN, THE "MOTOR" THAT RUNS ALL OF THESE THINGS HAS GOTTEN WATER IN IT AND HAS BURNT UP. FIRST TIME REPAIR....$2300. THIS TIME, I DON'T HAVE THE FINAL TOTAL YET, BUT I THINK THEY SAW ME COMING. CONSIDERING THAT MY CAR IS ALWAYS PARKED UNDER COVER, MY OPINION IS THAT THIS IS A FLAW WITH THE WAY THE CAR IS MADE. IF YOU PAY THIS MUCH MONEY FOR A NICE VEHICLE, YOU EXPECT IT TO DELIVER ON ALL FRONTS--NOT LEAK AND FRY WHEN IT RAINS. AGAIN, SAME REPAIR WITHIN 2 YEARS.

SUN ROOF DRAIN HOSE IS NOT PROBABLY SET UP. WHICH CASED LIFT GET MODULES TO SHORT OUT SO I CAN ALONG OR USE THE LIFT GATE AND WATER TO RUN IN TO THE VEHICLE
ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS, THE HATCHBACK LIFTGATE OPENED BY ITSELF. THEN IT WOULD NOT OPEN AT ALL WHICH DOESN'T ALLOW ANY ACCESS TO THE REAR CARGO AREA WHERE FLAT TIRE REPAIR GEAR IS LOCATED. I THEN DETERMINED THAT THE EXPENSIVE ELECTRICAL LIFTGATE MECHANISM BECAME SUBMERGED IN WATER FROM SUNROOF DRAIN TUBES THAT FAIL TO DRAIN RAIN TO THE GROUND. A FURTHER LOOK REVEALED THAT THE FRONT SEAT AND REAR SEAT FLOOR MATS WERE SATURATED WHERE ELECTRICAL CABLES ARE ROUTED. CAN YOU PROVIDE ME WITH A COPY OF NHTSA REFERENCE # 10078604 OR TSB REFERENCE # PIC-5260-A OR ANY OTHER INFORMATION WHY GENERAL MOTORS HASN'T RECALLED CADILLACS WITH THIS UNSAFE CONDITION.
11-21-17 AFTER DRIVING IN THE DARKNESS OF WINTER NOW I HAVE NOTICED MY HEADLIGHTS BOTH RIGHT AND LEFT ARE VERY DIM AND HAR TO SEE THE ROAD AHEAD. MY BRIGHT LIGHTS WORK WELL AND I USE THEM WHEN NO OTHER CARS ARE COMING HEAD ON. I THOUGHT IS WAS MY EYESIGHT BUT STARTED TO INVESTIGATE AND SAW HUNDREDS OF COMPLAINTS ON LINE. HAVE NOT SEEN ANY RECALL NOTICES FOR THIS DANGEROUS HEADLIGHT FAULT. AUTO HEADLIGHTS ARE DIM WHEN DRIVING.

THE DEALER HAD NOT REPAIRED THE VEHICLE, BUT INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE FAILURE WAS CAUSED BY MOISTURE. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 35,000.
THE LEFT AND RIGHT HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLIES RETAIN MOISTURE OR CONDENSATION THEN THE LIGHTS FAIL TO COME ON FOR NIGHT TIME OPERATION CAUSING LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT TO PULL ME OVER.

THE CERTIFIED MECHANIC WAS UNABLE TO REMEDY THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT CALLED THE DEALER WHO INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE ENTIRE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY, INCLUDING THE HIGH BEAMS, NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 47,000.
THE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS ARE VERY INADEQUATE FOR NIGHT TIME DRIVING. IT APPEARS THAT THE INTENSITY OF THE LOW BEAMS ARE THE SAME AS WHEN THEY ARE USED FOR DAYTIME DRIVING LIGHTS. THE HIGH BEAMS FUNCTION NORMALLY. I HAVE TRIED TO USE THE LOW BEAMS IN BOTH THE AUTOMATIC AND MANUAL MODE, STILL VERY LOW LIGHT. REPLACED BOTH LOW BEAM BULBS TO NO AVAIL.
THERE IS WATER GETTING INTO THE LIGHTS IN MAKING THEM [XXX] AND NOT WORK VERY HARD TO SEE AT NIGHT PARTS OF THIS DOCUMENT HAVE BEEN REDACTED TO PROTECT PERSONALLY IDENTIFIABLE INFORMATION PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).
WHEN USING LOW BEAMS IT'S LIKE DRIVING BLIND! YOU CAN BARELY SEE A FOOT IN FRONT OF YOU AT NIGHT. MUST USE HIGH BEAMS AT NIGHT OR RISK YOUR LIFE DUE TO LACK OF VISIBILITY DUE TO DISCOLORATION/PROBLEM WITH LENS COVERS!
SUV LOW BEAM LIGHTS DON'T ILLUMINATE THE ROADWAY. DRIVING FROM FLORIDA TO MARYLAND, I WAS UNABLE TO SEE THE ROADWAY MARKINGS UNLESS THEY HAD REFLECTIVE STRIPS. RAINY WEATHER MAKES IT IMPOSSIBLE TO SEE AT ALL. ONCOMING HEADLIGHTS MAKE STAYING ON THE ROADWAY NEARLY IMPOSSIBLE. THIS DEFECT CAUSES THE DRIVER TO USE HIGH BEAMS MAKING IT DANGEROUS FOR ONCOMING TRAFFIC.
THE PASSENGER SIDE HEADLIGHT HAS MOISTURE IN IT AND DOES NOT WORK. THIS APPEARS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM WITH SOME OWNERS REPORTEDLY LOSING BOTH HEAD LAMPS DO TO THIS PROBLEM. EXTREMELY DANGEROUS. ONE PERSON ON THE CADILLAC FORUM REPORTED THAT THERE WERE 30,000 POST REGARDING THIS PROBLEM. GOING BACK SEVERAL YEARS. THIS APPEARS TO BE AN ONGOING DESIGN PROBLEM THAT GM REFUSES TO ACKNOWLEDGE. THE COST TO FIX IS ABOUT $1500 PER LAMP.
MY WIFE WAS GOING TO LEAVE THE HOUSE YESTERDAY (7/29/2016) MORNING TO START HER DAY. SHE CALLED TO NOTIFY ME THAT THE CADILLAC WOULD NOT START. THE CAR WAS PARKED IN THE DRIVEWAY. ONLY THE INTERIOR LIGHTS WOULD COME ON. BY THE TIME I GOT HOME THAT AFTERNOON THE CAR WOULD START BUT ANYTHING ELECTRONIC WAS GOING CRAZY. THE DASH LIGHTS, RADIO, WARNING SYSTEMS WERE ALL FLICKERING ON AND OFF. I EVENTUALLY DISCONNECTED THE BATTERY BECAUSE THE CAR WOULD NOT STOP POWERING UP THE DASH AND RADIO. BEING IN THE BUSINESS THAT I AM IN,I KNEW THERE WAS MOST LIKELY A MOISTURE PROBLEM. SO TODAY AFTER DOING A LITTLE SEARCHING ON THE INTERNET AND FOUND THAT THIS VEHICLE HAS A PROBLEM WITH SUNROOF LEAKAGE. I THEN GO TO CHECK UNDER MY FLOOR MATS FOR WATER. CARPET WAS WET. I THEN PROCEEDED TO PULL BACK THE CARPET AND FOAM. I FOUND WATER EVERYWHERE. I SUCKED UP ABOUT 2 GALLONS FROM THE FRONT AND BACK SEAT AREAS. WITHOUT PULLING UP THE CARPET YOU WOULD HAVE NEVER KNOW THERE WAS WATER IN THE CAR. I WOULD ASSUME THIS IS ALSO THE REASON MY LIFT GATE WENT OUT ABOUT 6 MONTHS AGO. POSSIBLY THE CAUSE OF MY WINDOWS BEING VERY SLOW TO RISE. BECAUSE IT LOOKS LIKE MUCH OF THE WIRING RUNS ALONG THE SIDES OF THE CAR UNDER THE CARPET. I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH THE PERFORMANCE OF THE THIS CAR. MY WIFE AND I MADE IT TO PLACE IN LIFE WHERE WE FINALLY DECIDED TO SPLURGE A LITTLE ON A LUXURY CAR AND THIS IS WHAT WE GOT. I UNDERSTAND THINGS BREAKING DOWN AND MAKING REPAIR,S BUT THIS IS APPARENTLY A FLAW IN THEIR SUNROOF DESIGN AND GM HAS TO KNOW ABOUT IT . THIS CAR HAS 48000 MILES.
DRAINAGE TUBES IN CARS WITH SUNROOFS ARE CLOGGING AND SHORTING OUT THE LIFT GATE MODULE WHICH COULD CAUSE OTHER ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS OR POSSIBLE A MELTDOWN OR FIRE.. I BOUGHT ONE MODULE AND THE DEALERSHIP BOUGHT THE SECOND ONE THIS WEEK. SINCE THIS OCCURRED WITHIN THE FIRST 30 DAYS I OWNED THE CAR, LUCKILY THE DEALERSHIP COVERED IT. CADILLAC REFUSES TO ADMIT THE DESIGN IS POOR AND WILL NOT HELP CONSUMERS WITH THE COSTS ASSOCIATED WITH REPAIRS (PER THE CONVERSATION I HAD WITH THEM TODAY) IF YOU LOOK ON YOUTUBE OR OTHER SITES FOR CADILLAC OWNERS, YOU WILL SEE HOW MANY SRX'S IT INVOLVES. IT'S WELL OVER $500 TO HAVE THIS REPAIRED DEPENDING UPON THE DEALERSHIP/PRICE OF MODULE/LABOR COSTS. PLEASE CONSIDER A RECALL. THANK YOU.

I HAVE BEEN HAVING ISSUES WITH THE ACCELERATION OF MY SRX, THIS PROBLEM MOSTLY OCCURS WHEN I AM ALMOST AT A COMPLETE STOP THEN I ACCELERATE AND NOTHING, IT ALMOST MAKES ME THINK THE VEHICLE HAS DIED. I CAN ALSO FEEL A MILD CLUNK WHEN LETTING MY FOOT OFF THE ACCELERATOR. I HAVE HAD THE CAR IN THE SHOP AND WAS TOLD I NEEDED TO HAVE THE TCM REPROGRAMMED, SO I AGREED TO THE REPAIR. I CAN HONESTLY SAY THAT REPAIR DID NOTHING TO HELP THE ISSUE. I BOUGHT THE CAR PREOWNED AND DIDNT NOTICE THE ISSUE FOR ABOUT A MONTH OR SO AFTER THE PURCHASE. THE ISSUE SEEMS INTERMITTENT, BUT WHEN IT DOES HAPPEN IT IS SCARY. ESPECIALLY WHEN PULLING OUT INTO TRAFFIC AND THE CAR DOESN'T ACCELERATE.
THE 2011 CADILLAC SRX STALLS WHEN TRYING TO PULL OFF FROM BEING A STOP SIGN. IT DOES NOT ACCELERATE APPROPRIATELY. IT STALLS. IT COULD BE A MAJOR ISSUE WHEN DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE OR PULLING OUT INTO TRAFFIC FROM BEING AT A STANDSTILL. IT IS LIKE THE TRANSMISSION STALLS AND DOES NOT CHANGE GEARS. THIS HAS HAPPENED ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS.
THE HEADLIGHT SEAL IS LEAKING ALLOWING WATER TO ENTER. I'VE REPLACED 1 AND NOW THE OTHER 1 IS LEAKING
LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS ARE USELESS. THEY ONLY LIGHT UP ONE CAR LENGTH. I SEE OTHERS HAVE COMPLAINED ALSO. WE HAVE THE "LUXURY" MODEL WITH THE HALOGEN LIGHTS. I SEE THIS AS A SAFETY FACTOR. THERE WAS NO ACCIDENT, I JUST DON'T FEEL COMFORTABLE DRIVING THIS CAR AT NIGHT DUE THE POOR LIGHTING. *TR

THE TAIL GATE WILL OPEN WHEN THE BUTTON IS PRESSED BUT UNEXPECTEDLY FALLS STRIKING ANYONE IN THE HEAD WHEN PUTTING SOMETHING IN THE BACK END OR TAKING OUT OF THE BACKEND. BECAUSE THE STRUTS FAIL THAT HOLD THE GATE OPEN. THIS IS THE SAME TYPE OF RECALL AS 15V415000 THAT WAS ISSUED 6/30/2015 FOR THE GMC ACADIA, CHEVY TRAVERSE, SATURN OUTLOOK, BUICK ENCLAVE THAT WAS MANUFACTURED DURING THE SAME PERIOD AS THE SRX. THIS STARTED LAST YEAR BUT THE DEALER SAID I WOULD HAVE TO TAKE CARE OF IT EVEN THOUGH IT FAILED FAIRLY EARLY IN THE CARS LIFE.

LIFT GATE FAILED TO OPEN. ACCORDING TO WARRANTY COMPANY WATER LEAKED FROM THE SUNROOF FROM THE DRAINS ONTO THE LIFTGATE MOTOR AND SHORTED IT OUT. IT WAS NOT COVERED BY THE WARRANTY BECAUSE IT WAS CONSIDERED WATER DAMAGED.

THE HEADLIGHT BULBS WERE REPAIRED SEVERAL TIMES, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND INFORMED THE CONTACT TO CALL NHTSA TO FILE A COMPLAINT. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 40,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO ANOTHER LOCAL DEALER (THOMPSON BUICK GMC CADILLAC, 2600 WAKE FOREST RD, RALEIGH, NC, 27609) TO BE SERVICED FOR A SEPARATE RECALL AND THE CONTACT INFORMED THEM OF THE MOISTURE IN THE HEADLIGHT. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE MOISTURE CAUSED A FILM AND THE DIAGNOSIS WOULD BE TO REMOVE AND REPLACE THE HEADLIGHT STRUCTURE RESEAL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND PROVIDED CASE NUMBER: 83169952152. THE MANUFACTURER ADVISED THE CONTACT TO TAKE THE VEHICLE TO BE DIAGNOSED. THERE WERE NO OPEN RECALLS FOR THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 68,000.
