VEHICLE FIRE & MOLD. My 2013 Cadillac SRX had water leaking in/draining incorrectly from the sunroof, which in return pooled water in the front and rear of my vehicle. This water caused my trunk to COMPLETELY stop operating (water pooled at trunk latch/rusted), as well as water to saturate the electrical components near the front of my car and a FIRE TO ITNITE WHILE I WAS DRIVING THE VEHICLE! Fire truck responded, pooled water found, mold also found because of previously unknown pooled water, and insurance totaled vehicle. SO SCARY! SO DISAPOINTED! THIS LEAKING WATER ISSUE HAS BEEN REPORTED ON MANY FORUMS FOR THE SAME CADILLAC MAKE AND MODEL AND IT THREATENED MY LIFE. The sun roof draining tubes MUST BE RECALLED. I’m now out of a vehicle because of it and just grateful I was able to exit my vehicle as it filled with smoke.
Low beam headlight are so dim, that it creates a safety hazard driving at night. The reflector material on the inside of the light bulb housing assembly has deteriorated to the point that the light bulbs light cannot project out the front of the light assembly. This makes driving at night very dangerous. We have not experienced an incident or accident concerning this problem, but I will not have anyone in my family drive this vehicle at night. This is a safety hazard that GM is not addressing.
The headlights are damaged from normal use. the lights leak water which shorts out the light ballast , the repair requires removal of the front facia of the car which is a $400 repair. the interior lens of the light is heat damaged which dims the headlight. Gm wants 1300 for each headlight plus labor. Apparently the enginers at cadillac did not know how to build a headlight, so them made temporary headlights from the factory. still waiting for permant headlights. Bill
2013 CADILLAC SRX. CONSUMER WRITES SEEKING REIMBURSEMENT FOR VEHICLE REPAIRS MADE RELATED TO OPEN SAFETY RECALL.
The front headlights are extremely deem. Found moisture inside the light assembly, having no damage to cause such moisture buildup. The front headlights both low beam and high beam failed at night on 16th September 2021 due to but not limited to moisture and then i discovered this was a known defect, but I did not learn officially of this until the 17th Sept 2021.
I called on August 25 to get my Cadillac serviced at the Luxury Automall in Sioux Falls, SD. I had been experiencing toe link issues (service stabilitrak error message and jerking and swaying from the back end). I was bounced around from operators at the dealership before being told I wouldn’t be able to be seen until Sept. 14th (20 days later) and that I should stop driving the vehicle. I work over 50 miles away from my office and told the person I spoke to that it wasn’t an option for me to stop driving the vehicle because I need my source of income to support myself. I also informed them that I don’t have any other form of transportation and asked if I could get a loaner vehicle until they could check out my vehicle. I was told they wouldn’t be able to provide me a loaner vehicle until my vehicle was inspected and deemed unsafe to operate. So I continued driving my vehicle. I’ve probably put close to 2000 miles on my vehicle since the phone call with Cadillac. Needless to say my transmission went out Friday at a very low mileage. Cadillac is refusing to help me and I feel like I wouldn’t need an entire new transmission had the Cadillac dealer not made me wait nearly 3 weeks to be seen. My toe link is also busted. Now I’m looking at spending $5500 on a vehicle I can’t even drive due to Cadillacs negligence plus I’m now on the hook for a rental vehicle while I’m still making payments on the Cadillac I cannot even drive. How do you expect people to survive when I’m getting quoted over $1800 for 4 weeks of a rental car while I wait for my vehicle to get fixed - most places cannot get a transmission for 3-4 weeks. I’m being quoted $7000 (which is more than I make in 2 months) because Cadillac blew me off had they checked my vehicle before the transmission went out they may have prevented me from needing a new transmission. They knowingly let me drive an unsafe vehicle with no regards to my safety.

Vehicle Headlamps fail to project adequate light to see the road. Several hundred dollars have been invested in attempting to fix this, resulting in zero noticeable help.
The headlight casing allow water and condensation to cause the headlights to be extremely dim and makes visibility impossible for night time driving and is a hazard to everyone on the road.

airbags light turned on, my seatbelts just stopped working and are tight, my radio screen just went blank. I can’t drive the vehicle because of no proper working seatbelts. If i was to wreck there is nothing to prevent me the driving or my front passenger from being ejected. Ive taken my vehicle to my dealership that confirmed the airbag sensor says they have been suddenly deployed the dealer also confirmed my vehicle has never been in a accident and ive only had the vehicle since april 19 2021 the problems occured July 5 2021 and they advised me they have heard of airbags popping out of nowhere. It has not been inspected by police or the manufacturer. The seatbelts locked the radio went blank then my airbag light appeared suddenly. I Asked the dealership im financing the vehicle from if they could provide me a safe vehicle until they resolve they issue because i do have toddlers and i was told no it wasnt a option i also asked if they could just exchange the vehicle for another around the same value and was also told no. I was most concerned that they allowed me to drive the vehicle off the lot after explaining to me the dangers that could occur while im on the road.

I received a notice 21V473 from the NHTSA, via an email and a written letter nearly 90 days ago. GM dealers are stating they do not have the parts to repair this safety recall notice. How long do owners of these UNSAFE vehicles have to wait for these parts to be manufactured? NHTSA should be imposing some kind of DAILY fines on GM for these delay tactics. Am I suppose to not drive this vehicle because it is not safe to be on the road? GM is just stalling and using this delay tactic because they know this is going to cost them millions of dollars to correct these flaws. The owners of these vehicles are being punished by not making these repairs in a timely manner. NHTSA should put the pressure on GM to correct this malfunction in a more rapid manner by fining GM on a daily basis then maybe they will move off their duffs!

VEHICLE HAS A RECALL ID. RECALL 21V473. ADVISED BY DEALER FOR CADILLAC NOT TO DRIVE OR OPERATE VEHICHLE, HOWEVER GM DOES NOT HAVE PARTS TO CORRECT RECALL AND AS A CONSUMER AND ONLY TRANSPORTATION IT IS A BURDEN FOR ME . I ALSO HAVE A LOAN ON THIS VEHICLE THAT IS CURRENT IN PAYMENTS AND MUST MAKE FUTURE PAYMENTS ON A VEHICLE THAT IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE. I FEEL GM. NEEDS TO GET THIS VEHICLE REPAIRED ASAP. OR PURCHASE BACK ATR THE COST OF MY LOAN. VERY UPSET AND ANGRY THERE IS AT THIS TIME NO RESOLUTION BY GM AND NO PARTS AVAILABLE .
The dim headlights are so dim you can’t use them. Looks like water in the headlamp. Have seen that this is an ongoing issue with GM and can’t find recall. They say pay for it now (which is more than I can afford) and they will reimburse in couple months. Car was this way when purchased but did not know and can’t get money back.

THE HEADLIGHTS ARE VERY DIM THEY SAY THE WHOLE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY IS BAD THE REFLECTIVE COATING BURNS DUE TO THE TEMP OF THE HAILOGEN HEAD LIGHTS THIS IS A KNOWEN PROBLEM WITH THE CADDY SRX
ONCE IN AWHILE, WHILE DRIVING THE SRX, IT HESITANT SHIFTING CAUSING RPM TO REV HIGHER THAN USUAL. WHEN SLOWING DOWN, ONCE IN AWHILE YOU FEEL A KICK. ALSO I HEAR A SLIGHT WHINING NOISE WHEN DRIVING. STEERING WHEEL TURNED ALL THE WAY TO THE LEFT OR TO THE RIGHT, STEERING WHEEL DOES NOT TURN BACK WHEN GOING FORWARD NOR REVERSE, IT STAYS TURNED.

LOW BEAM HEADLAMPS BECOME SO DIM THAT YOU CANNOT DRIVE AT NIGHT. THE HEADLAMPS PUT A LIGHT BEAM ABOUT 5 FT IN FRONT OF THE VEHICLE. YOU CAN SEE BETTER USING TWO FLASHLIGHTS ON THE HOOD. CADILLAC KNOWS OF THIS DEFECT AND EVEN SETTLED A LAWSUIT TO REPLACE THEM BUT THEY DO NOT COVER THE ENTIRE COST AND REPLACES THEM WITH INDENTICAL UNITS. THIS VEHICLE IS A EXTREME HIGH RISK WHEN DRIVING AT NIGHT TO THE PUBLIC. THIS CAR COULD NOT PASS STATE OR FEDERAL HIGHWAY LAWS FOR WORKING HEADLAMPS. IF A RECALL WAS EVER NEEDED THIS IS IT. CADILLAC WILL NOT FAIRLY DEAL WITH THIS ISSUE WITH ITS CUSTOMERS. A RECALL IS NEEDED BEFORE SOMEONE DIES.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 CADILLAC SRX. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING AT NIGHT, THE FRONT HEADLIGHTS WERE DIM AND FAILED TO PROVIDE ADEQUATE LIGHTING FOR SAFE DRIVING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 89,300.
The contact owns a 2013 Cadillac SRX. The contact stated that the illumination from the headlights was inadequate for safe nighttime driving. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic and diagnosed that the failure was related to how the headlights were manufactured and could not be repaired. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 97,000.
WEATHER SEALS APPEAR TO ERODE PREMATURELY, WHICH MAY ALLOW MOISTURE TO ENTER THE HEADLIGHT CASING AND CAUSE THE BULB TO FLICKER, DIM OR BURN OUT ENTIRELY. THE REPLACEMENT HEADLIGHTS ALSO USE THE SAME DESIGN WHICH RESULTS IN OUT OF POCKET EXPENSE EVEN FOR FAULTY REPLACEMENT LIGHTS.
PASSENGER HEADLIGHT HAS WATER INSIDE, HEADLIGHT DIMMED, CAN'T SEE ON ONE SIDE OF CAR, DRIVING CAN'T SEE AT NIGHT
THE HEADLIGHTS HAVE FAILED AND DO NOT ILLUMINATE THE ROAD AT NIGHT MAKING IT VERY UNSAFE TO DRIVE AT NIGHT. THE HEADLIGHT DO DO NOT ILLUMINATE THE ROAD WHEN THE CAR IS MOVING OR STATIONARY AND ALL THE BULBS WORK PROPERLY.
TRANSMISSION PROBLEM LEAKING PLUS REAR AXLE NOISES WHILE DRIVING ON 295 HWY LOST POWER FROM GEARS STARTED LOCKING UP
I BOUGHT MY VEHICLE 6 MONTHS AGO. I NEVER OWNED A CADILLAC AND I REALLY LOVE IT BUT THERE ISN'T ALOT OF LEG ROOM IN THE BACK SEAT AND ITS HARD TO SEE THE TURN SIGNAL LIGHTS BEING 6'4 THE WAY THE WINDOW IS SHAPED I HAVE TO HUNCH TO THE SIDE AND LOOK UP. MY MAIN PROBLEM IS THE TOUCH SCREEN FROM THE CUE APPLICATIONS. IT DOESN'T REGISTER MY TOUCH SO I HAVE TO GO THROUGH THE STEERING WHEEL BUTTONS TO CHANGE ANYTHING. MY VEHICLE ONLY HAS 56,000 MILES ON IT I DON'T THINK SOMETHING LIKE THAT SHOULD GO OUT THAT FAST. I HAVE READ OTHER OWNERS STATING THE SAME THING. THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL ON THIS CAUSE S PERSON SHOULDN'T HAVE TO GO THROUGH THE STEERING WHEEL BUTTONS WHEN THERE IS A TOUCH SCREEN TO DO THAT. I THINK WE SHOULD HAVE THE NEWEST SOFTWARE AVAILABLE OR PUT A NEW UPDATED VERSION INSTEAD OF THE ONE THAT WAS FIRST PUT OUT. THANKS FOR YOUR ATTENTION IN THIS MATTER
FOR THE PAST FEW YEARS MY WIFE'S CADILLAC SRX HEADLIGHTS HAVE BEEN GETTING WORSE AND WORSE. WE HAVE HAD ALL BULBS REPLACED BY BILL CRAMER CHEVROLET IN PANAMA CITY FLORIDA. THE NEW BULBS WERE BETTER FOR A LITTLE WHILE BUT NOW WHEN USING THE DIM HEADLIGHTS, YOU CANNOT EVEN TELL THEY ARE ON. THE BRIGHT HEADLIGHTS HAVE TO BE USED AT ALL TIMES WHILE DRIVING AT NIGHT, OR YOU CANNOT SEE ANYTHING AT ALL. THIS IS A LAWSUIT AND ACCIDENT WAITING TO HAPPEN. I CAN DEFINITELY SEE MOISTURE GETTING INTO THE LIGHT HOUSING AND I THINK IT IS CAUSING ALL THE PROBLEMS.
HEADLIGHTS ARE SO DIM I REFUSE TO DRIVE AT NIGHT. IT IS DANGEROUS. I REALIZE THERE ARE LOTS OF COMPLAINTS ALREADY AND EVEN A FEW CLASS ACTION LAWSUITS AGAINST GM. I JUST WANTED TO ADD ONE MORE
The contact owns a 2013 Cadillac SRX. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle stalled. While driving the vehicle swayed. The engine power reduced message was displayed. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 21V473000 (Suspension) however, the part to do the recall repair was unavailable. The local dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 198,000. VIN tool confirms parts not available.
TOUCH SCREEN HAS DEVELOPED A SPIDER WEB THAT MAKES THE TOUCH SCREEN USELESS. THIS SCREEN WAS REPLACED WHILE UNDER WARRANTY AT 50,000 MILES. I NOW HAVE 103,000 MILES AND WAS TOLD TO REPLACE THIS WOULD BE $1000. AFTER CHECKING ONLINE MANY OWNERS HAVE HAD THE SAME PROBLEM. OBVIOUSLY AN ISSUE WITH THIS YEAR AND MODEL OF THE CADDILAC SRX.
THE SEAL AROUND HEADLIGHTS HAS DETERIORATED AND WATER IS VISIBLE INSIDE THE HEADLIGHTS AND THE LIGHTS ARE SO DIM VEHICLE CAN'T BE DRIVEN AT NIGHT.
SHIFT TO PARK ERROR-CAR NOT REGISTERING WHEN IN PARK. SYSTEM DISPLAY SAYS "SHIFT TO PARK" AFTER MOVING SHIFT CONTROL TO THE PARK POSITION. WILL NOT ALLOW ME TO SAFELY SHUT DOWN/TURN OFF VEHICLE. HAS HAPPENED A COUPLE OF TIMES NOW WHILE STATIONARY IN PARKING LOT AND IN MY GARAGE. I AM NOT SURE IF CAR IS ACTUALLY IN PARK OR NOT AND AM AFRAID VEHICLE WILL ROLL. HAS HAPPENED A FEW TIMES, THE FIRST FEW TIMES I COULD JIGGE THE SHIFT CONTROL AND IT WOULD CLEAR THE ERROR. NOW I HAVE TO REBOOT MY SYSTEM TO SHUT THE CAR DOWN.
HEAD ON COLLISION AT 40 MPH ON A CITY STREET. AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY AND SEAT MOVED FORWARD. RESULTING IN ER VISIT AND HEAD LACERATION AND LOSS OF CONSCIOUSNESS.
AFTER SEARCHING AND CALLING AROUND I AM HEARING THAT THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER ON THE 2013 SRX HAS HAD NUMEROUS ISSUES. THIS MORNING UPON CRANKING THE CAR AND DRIVING TO WORK I QUICKLY REALIZED THAT NONE OF MY INSTRUMENTS WERE RESPONDING. NO SPEED, NO GAS GAUGE, NOTHING. THE TWO SHOPS THAT I CALLED SAID THAT THEY HAVE ALSO EXPERIENCED PROBLEMS WITH THE CADILLAC SRX INSTRUMENT PANEL AS WELL AS SEVERAL OTHER GM PRODUCTS FROM THAT SAME YEAR. *TR
THE CUE SYSTEM IS LOCKED UP AND WILL NOT RESPOND ONLY HAS 22,230 MILES
LOSS OF VEHICLE CONTROL DUE TO TOE-LINK ADJUSTMENT FAILURE. FOR MONTHS BEFORE THE LOSS OF CONTROL INCIDENT, THE REAR OF THE 2013 CADILLAC SRX WOULD WOBBLE SLIGHTLY AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS (50+ MPH). THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT OF THE CADILLAC DEALER DID A VISUAL INSPECTION BUT SAW NO OBVIOUS PROBLEMS AND SPECULATED THE CAR WAS FOLLOWING THE ROAD RUTS OF WORN PAVEMENT. ON A HIGH SPEED DIVIDED HIGHWAY AT 60 MPH, THE VEHICLE EXITED A BRIDGE SECTION FOR REGULAR PAVEMENT AND THE STEERING WHEEL COCKED ABOUT FIVE DEGREES TO THE LEFT BUT THE WHEELS REMAINED POINTED STRAIGHT. A CALL WAS PLACED TO THE DEALERSHIP TO HAVE THE PROBLEM EXAMINED. RETURNING TO THE SAME HIGHWAY AN HOUR LATER IN THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION, ACCELERATION ON THE ENTRANCE RAMP (DOWNHILL) AT ABOUT 40 MPH CAUSED LOSS OF CONTROL OF THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE WHICH DARTED BACK AND FORTH VIOLENTLY. THE VEHICLE COULD BE SLOWED TO A STOP AND DID NOT HIT ANOTHER VEHICLE OR THE GUARDRAIL. THE LEFT REAR TIRE WAS AT AN EXTREME ANGLE OF CAMBER WITH THE TOP OF THE WHEEL INWARD TO THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A LOCAL CADILLAC DEALER FOR INSPECTION AND THE LEFT TOE LINK ADJUSTMENT PART WAS APPARENTLY WORN ON THE THREADS. BOTH LEFT AND RIGHT PARTS WERE REPLACED.
Head Light are very dim. I changed the light bulb to see if that would help but I can't see at night due to the dimness of the head lights
I BOUGHT MY CADDY IN 2015 (AFTER DEFECT WAS MADE KNOWN TO REPAIR SHOPS) AT CARMAX. REPLACED LIGHT BULB 1/2020. THE PROBLEM IS THE HEADLIGHT HOUSING LETS WATER IN DIMMING BULB UNTIL NIGHT DRIVING IS IMPOSSIBLE! I RECIEVED THE NOTICE FROM GM ABOUT HEADLIGHT DEFECT LATE MARCH 2020. THE PANDEMIC HIT AND I DIDNT HAVE THE $ OR WILLINGNESS TO EXPOSE MYSEF TO COVID. GM GAVE OWNERS UNTIL JUNE 2020 TO MAKE THE REPAIR OUT OF POCKET AND FILE FOR REIMBURSE MENT. 6 MONTHS LATER CUSTOMERS ARE STILL WAITING ON CHECKS FOR REIMBUIRSEMENT. GM REFUSES TO REOPEN THE MATTER AND FEELS THEY HAVE DONE ENOUGH TO MAKE THIS RIGHT FOR CUSTOMERS. THIS WILL EVENTUALLY CAUSE A WRECK AND POSSIBLE DEATH.
I JUST BOUGHT THIS 2013 CADILLAC SRX LUXURY USED FROM A CAR LOT IN MADISON WI. ON OUR WAY HOME TO BARABOO WI THE HEADLIGHTS TURNED ON CAUSE IT WAS GETTING DARK. I COULDN'T TELL IF THE LIGHTS WERE ON OR NOT. TO TEST TO SEE IF THE HEADLIGHTS WORKED PROPERLY I WAITED UNTIL IT WAS DARK AND I DROVE A HALF MILE. AS ALL THE OTHER OWNERS OF THIS MODEL THE LOW BEAMS ARE NOT BRIGHT ENOUGH FOR NIGHT DRIVING. I COULD NOT SEE WHAT SEEMS TO BE A FEW FEET IN FRONT OF ME. I COULD NOT SEE THE SIDES OF THE ROAD AT ALL. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE. I HAD TO PURCHASE A CAR BECAUSE A DEER RAN IN FRONT OF MY OLD ONE. THE INSURANCE COMPANY TOTALED MY CAR. I COULD NOT IMAGINE TRYING TO DRIVE THE SAME DARK HIGHWAY ON MY WAY HOME FROM WORK WITH THESE LOW BEAMS. THERE ARE DEER EVERYWHERE IN WI. THERE IS A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT AGAINST GM IN REGARDS TO THIS PROBLEM. I WOULD LIKE TO SEE A RECALL OR A FIX TO BE AVAILABLE THAT WOULD CORRECT THIS DANGEROUS ISSUE. *TR
MY CAR HAD BEEN STALLING, OR "JERKING" WHEN A ACCELERATING FOR A WEEK OR SO BEFORE THE FOLLOWING INCIDENT, BUT DUE TO THE SHELTER IN PLACE ORDINANCE, L PUT OFF TAKING IT TO A MECHANIC. HOWEVER, MY CAR FINALLY SHUT OFF AT A STOP LIGHT, CAUSING A DISTRACTED DRIVER TO NEARLY REAR END ME. A FRIENDLY DRIVER ASSISTED ME WITH PUSHING IT (TRAVELING NORTH ON MANNHEIM RD IN HILLSIDE) TO AN AMOCO STATION. I CALLED ONSTAR INITIALLY TO GET IT TOWED, BUT SINCE MY FATHER IS A RETIRED MECHANIC, L CALLED HIM. HE WAS ABLE TO START IT AND DROVE IT TO THEIR HOME JUST A COUPLE MILES FROM THAT LOCATION. HE CHECKED WITH A FELLOW/WORKING MECHANIC AND HE THOUGHT THE PROBLEM WAS A AIR FLOW SENSOR. THAT PART WAS REPLACED A COUPLE DAYS LATER. I DROVE THE CAR TO RUN SEVERAL ERRANDS AND AS L WAS LEAVING THE GROCERY STORE ON ST. CHARLES RD IN BERKELEY, HEADED EAST, THE SAME THING HAPPENED. AGAIN, MY FATHER MET ME AT THE LOCATION, GOT IT TO START AND DROVE IT TO A WORKING MECHANIC. AFTER PLACING IT ON A MACHINE FOR REVIEW, THE MECHANIC STATED THAT IT APPEARED TO BE THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER AS HE DIDN'T SEE ANYTHING ELSE WRONG. I WAS CHECKING ONLINE FOR PRICING BEFORE AGREEING TO REPAIRS ONLY TO DISCOVER THAT THERE WAS A RECALL ON THE SAME MAKE/MODEL FOR HESITATION IN ACCELERATION, DUE TO THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER. NOW, I'M WONDERING IF THERE'S A FAULTY CONVERTER ISSUE ON MY END, AND I'D LIKE THIS TO BE INVESTIGATED. *TR
