MY DAUGHTER WAS ACCELERATING TO ENTER THE ON-RAMP ON THE INTERSTATE. THE GAS PEDAL STUCK WHEN SHE ACCELERATED AND SHE WAS UNABLE TO SLOW HER CAR DOWN. SHE WAS FORCED TO MANEUVER THROUGH TRAFFIC AND HAD TO EXIT AT THE NEXT RAMP BECAUSE SHE COULD NOT GET AROUND VEHICLES ON THE INTERSTATE. SHE STEPPED ON THE BRAKES AND TRIED TO TAP THE GAS PEDAL LIGHTLY TO SEE IF IT WOULD COME UNSTUCK. AT SOME POINT WHILE EXITING THE HIGHWAY THE GAS PEDAL CAME UNSTUCK, AND THANKFULLY SHE MANAGED TO STOP HER VEHICLE SAFELY WITHOUT AN ACCIDENT. SHE IS CONCERNED THAT THIS PROBLEM MAY OCCUR AGAIN AND SHE MAY NOT BE SO LUCKY THE NEXT TIME.

TURNING THE WHEEL WHILE DRIVING WHEN THE COLUMN BROKE LOOSE AND A BROKEN PIECE OF METAL RETAINER RING OF SOME KIND DROPPED TO THE FLOOR.
WHEN I UNLOCK THE DRIVER DOOR WITH THE FOB, THE DOOR WOULD NOT OPEN. I WAS DRIVING ONE DAY AND THE RELAY ELECTRICAL WIRING STARTED BURNING. WHEN I TOOK IT BACK TO THE CAR DEALER THEY TOLD ME THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG. MYSELF AND FOUR OTHER PEOPLE SMELLED THE BURNING. I GAVE THE CAR BACK AND NOTHING WAS DONE TO SATISFY THE SITUATION. I WAS TOLD BY AN AUTO ZONE MECHANIC TO PARK THE CAR BEFORE IT CATCHES ON FIRE.
COBALT IS LEAKING FUEL BEHIND THE REAR DRIVER SIDE WHEEL. LEAK WAS NOTICED WHEN VEHICLE WAS PARKED FUEL IS VISIBLY DRIPPING AND THE SMELL OF FUEL OUTSIDE OF VEHICLE IS STRONG. FUEL CAN ALSO BE SMELLED IN THE VEHICLE AS WELL.
WHILE RUNNING CAR DISPLAYS POWER STEERING NOTIFICATION. DASH BOARD LIGHTS UP, CAR JERKS HARD WHILE DRIVING, LOSES POWER, BRAKES MAKE CLICK IN SOUNDS AND DON'T WORKWELL. ONLY DRIVEN ON CITY STREET SO FAR.
I WAS DRIVING THE CAR IN THE CITY STREET WHEN THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. I CONTINUE TO DRIVE THE CAR WHEN I START HEARING CLICK SOUND THAN I HEAR BELL SOUND COME FROM THE CAR. THE CAR WOULDN'T GO ANY FASTER THAN 40 MILE HR & THE GAUGES WERE JUMPING ALL OVER THE PLACE. I CONTINUE TO DRIVE THE CAR THEN THE WORDS "POWER STEERING" CAME ON WHERE MY MILEAGE WOULD SHOW. ALL OF THE RECALLS HAVE BEEN REPAIRED AND SOMETHING STILL WRONG WITH THIS CAR. I ASKED GM TO TAKE LOOK AT THE CAR WITHOUT CHARGING(MONEY) TO SEE IF IT IS RELATIVE TO THE RECALL. THE DEALERSHIP SAID THEY COULDN'T TELL IF THEY WOULD CHARGED ME MONEY OR NOT.

I'VE PAID OVER $400 DOLLARS INTO THIS CAR FOR BATTERIES IN THE LAST 18 MONTHS BECAUSE OF THE MANUFACTURER DEFAULT. WHEN I GOT THE CAR, THE IGNITION SWITCH WAS A PROBLEM THE FIRST NIGHT, AND WE HAD TO TAKE IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP THE NEXT DAY, WHERE ALL THEY DID WAS SPRAY SOME WD-40 IN THE HOLE. THAT WAS BEFORE THE RECALL WAS MADE NEWS. ON SEPT, 11, 2015 I WAS LEAVING A STORE, AND TRIED TURNING ON THE CAR AND IT DIDN'T START. I'VE HAD BATTERY PROBLEMS BEFORE (WITH THIS VEHICLE TOO) AND JUST HAD THE BATTERY REPLACED 18 M AGO, BUT THERE WAS NO CHECK BATTERY WARNING LIGHT EARLIER OR ANYTHING WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE PERFORMANCE. AT THE TIME, I DIDN'T THINK IT WAS THE BATTERY BECAUSE THE RADIO, A/C, ETC HAD NO PROBLEM TURNING ON BUT THE ENGINE ITSELF WOULDN'T START. AND USUALLY BATTERIES HAVE NO PROBLEM IN SUMMER WEATHER. AFTER A TOW GETTING TO THE AUTO SHOP, THEY HOOKED UP A CHARGER TO THE BATTERY, AND STARTED IT UP, AND SAID I NEEDED A NEW BATTERY! I SAID NO, THAT'S NOT POSSIBLE, I GOT A NEW BATTERY JUST 18 MONTHS AGO. ITS PROBABLY THE IGNITION RECALL THAT IS THE OVERALL PROBLEM BECAUSE UNTIL THIS YEAR (WHEN THE DEALERSHIP FINALLY GOT ME IN) THE IGNITION WAS SLIPPING OUT OF THE OFF POSITION RANDOMLY OVER-NIGHT. OR IT MIGHT BE THE FACT THAT THE MANUFACTURER PUT THE BATTERY IN THE TRUNK WHERE THERE'S NO AIR CIRCULATION! WHAT WAS CHEVY THINKING. IN A RESPONSIBLE GOVERNMENT, I SHOULD BE ENTITLED COMPENSATION FOR THIS, I MEAN $400 FOR THE SAME PART IN A 18 MONTH SPAN BECAUSE THEY PUT A DANGEROUS PART IN THEIR CARS KNOWINGLY! PS. GM REPLACED IGNITION PARTS AND SHIFTER MECHANISM AS PER RECALL. SHORTLY AFTER ISSUES BEGAN WITH STEERING LOCKING UP, TRANSMISSION NOT SHIFTING AND VARIOUS WARNING LIGHTS FLASHING. THIS BECAME MORE FREQUENT AND IS NOW IMPOSSIBLE TO DRIVE. MY TECHNICIAN SAYS IT IS A BODY OR TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE COSTING WELL OVER A THOUSAND DOLLARS. THERE APPEAR TO BE 100S OF 1000S OF THE SAME ISSUE AS PER SEARCH ENGINES. I WILL CONTACT MY LOCAL GM DEALERSHIP. IF GM WILL NOT BACK UP ITS PRODUCT IT WILL BE THE LAST GM IN MY DRIVEWAY. I WILL TRADE IN ON A TOYOTA.
WHILE DRIVING VEHICLE POWER STEERING LIGHT COMES ON, STEERING WHEEL LOCKS UP, GEAR SHIFT STARTS CLICKING, STALLING OUT DURING DRIVING AT SPEED. I HAVE RAN OFF ROAD SEVERAL TIMES AND HAVE TO USE BOTH HANDS TO TURN A CURVE BECAUSE OF STEERING LOCKED.

MY CAR TURNS OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF DRIVING. THREE TIMES I HAVE BEEN ON 45 MPH ROADS, AND HAVE 2 SMALL KIDS. THIS ISN'T THE ONLY MAJOR ISSUE MY CAR. BUT FIRST THE DIGITAL DISPLAY READS ENGINE DISABLED OR ENGINE LOSING POWER THEN ENGINE DISABLED AND LOSES ALL FUNCTION. THERE WAS A RECALL OVER A YEAR AGO FOR THIS MODEL SHUTTING OFF WHILE DRIVING SUPPOSEDLY DUE TO WEIGHT ON THE KEY RING. AFTER THE DEALER FIXED IT THE ISSUE STOPPED UNTIL 3 MNTHS AGO. I CAN ONLY GO A BLOCK BEFORE THE ENGINE DISABLES NOW, IT PROGRESSIVELY HAPPENED SOONER AND SOONER. A FRIEND WHO IS OLD BUDDIES WITH A DIAGNOSTICS SPECIALIST INTRODUCED ME AND HE WAS ABLE TO TELL ME EXACTLY WHAT WAS GOING ON TO FINE DETAILS. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP TO SEE ABOUT ANY RECALLS AND RELAYED THE INFO HE'D GIVEN ME AND THEY DOWN PLAYED IT LIKE THEY GUY DIDN'T KNOW WHAT HE WAS TALKING ABOUT. THE DEALER THINKS ITS A THROTTLE OR ENGINE PROBLEM. THE GUY I KNOW SAID THE COMPUTER CHIP IN THE KEY LIKELY GOT MESSED UP POSSIBLY FROM HAVING MY CELL PHONE NEXT TO IT A LOT, THAT THE PART IN THE IGNITION THAT READS THE SIGNAL FROM THE KEY IS GETTING MIXED INFO AND SIGNALS THE ENGINE TO SHUT DOWN . HE ALSO SAID THAT ONCE IT HAPPENS, A LOOP IS CREATED TO WHERE EVERY TIME I TURN THEY KEY IT STARTS THE CYCLE OVER WHERE EVERYTHING IS OKAY IN THE BEGINNING BUT THE INFO GETS MISREAD OVER N OVER WHICH IS WHY HE SAID I SHOULD GET A NEW KEY- AND (I THINK THIS IS WHAT HE SAID) TO REPLACE TO WHOLE IGNITION COLUMN SO ALL PARTS INVOLVED WOULD BE NEW. HE ALSO GETS HIS PARTS WHOLESALE AND IS NOT TRYING TO RIP ME OFF. NEXT PROBLEM CAR BURNS OIL! THE LAST TWO TIMES I HAD OIL CHECKED, NOTHING ON THE DIPSTICK, I GET IT DONE EVERY 3000MILES. WALMART MADE ME SIGN A PAPER STATING THERE WAS NO OIL ON DIPSTICK. GAS LINE CORRODED, SMELL OF GAS THROUGHOUT CAR, HAS WHOLE PIECE REPLACED. THESE ARE SERIOUS WHY IS CHEVROLET DOING NOTHING BAD BUSINESS

ENGINE WOULD NOT TURN OVER NO ELECTRICAL CONNECTION THIS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES DURING OWNERSHIP. I HAVE LOST MY JOB DEPENDING ON THIS VEHICLE. I WOULD TRY TO START IT ONE MORNING AND SOME TIMES IT WOULD AND OTHERS IF WOULDN'T. WHEN I HEARD ABOUT THE RECALLS ON THE CARS MY HAPPENS TO BE A 2005 CHEVY COBALT WHEN I LOOKED IT UP THERE WERE 6 RECALLS ON THIS ONE CAR. I UNDERSTAND THINGS HAPPEN AND NOT DONE TO PURPOSELY HURT ANYONE BUT THERE WAS MANY PEOPLE HURT. I'M JUST SCARED AFTER GETTING MY CAR BACK FROM GETTING IT REPAIRED SOME OTHER THINGS GOING TO HAPPEN AND I'M A YOUNG MOTHER WITH 3 SMALL KIDS AND I DON'T WANT TO PUT THEM AT DANGER AT ALL. I WAS DRIVING AND WAS GETTING CLOSE TO PULLING INTO A DRIVEWAY WHEN THE DASH LIT UP AND THE STEERING WENT OUT I HAD TO TRY AND BACK UP TO PULL INTO THE DRIVEWAY IT WAS VERY HARD TO DO . IM SCARED TO DRIVE MY CAR THIS HAPPENED AT SOMEONE ELSE HOUSE NOT MINE

AFTER I HAD THE IGNITION SWITCH REPLACED THE SERVICE AIRBAG LIGHT CAME ON. I TOOK CAR BACK TO DEALER ABOUT THIS ISSUE THEY REPLACED A CLIP ON WIRING IN STEERING COLUMN. AFTER CLIP WAS REPLACED SERVICE AIRBAG LIGHT CAME BACK ON. I FEEL THAT THE DEALER DID SOMETHING WHEN IGNITION SWITCH WAS REPLACED .

I CALLED A CHEVY DEALERSHIP AND TOLD THEM WHAT HAD HAPPENED, THEY SAID AS LONG AS THE LIGHT COMES ON, I AM STILL OK TO DRIVE THE CAR. I WAS STOPPED IN LINE OF TRAFFIC AND HAD TO MOVE TO THE RIGHT SLIGHTLY TO GET OUT OF A FIRETRUCK'S WAY (NOT IN A JERKING AND FORCEFUL MOVEMENT, BUT NORMAL TURNING OF STEERING WHEEL). WHEN I TRIED TO GET BACK INTO THE LINE OF TRAFFIC, THE STEERING WHEEL WAS EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO MOVE AND I HEARD ELECTRICAL MOTOR NOISES COMING FROM BEHIND THE STEERING WHEEL. THESE NOISES CONTINUED FOR 10-20 SECONDS AND THEN THE POWER STEERING MESSAGE CAME ON THE DISPLAY. THIS NOW HAPPENS EVERY TIME I START MY CAR AND STEERING HAS BECOME VERY DIFFICULT, ESPECIALLY TURNS AT SLOW SPEEDS. I RESEARCHED THE ISSUE, AND WAS TOLD ON THE GM HOTLINE THAT MY VIN DID NOT MATCH THE RECALL FROM 2010 PERTAINING TO THE POWER STEERING. I TOOK THE CAR TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, WHO ALSO CALLED GM AND WAS INFORMED ABOUT THE RECALL WHEN INQUIRING ABOUT PARTS. HE DID NOT FIX OR REMOVE ANY PARTS, BUT WROTE A NOTE ON PAPER INDICATING I WAS HAVING THE SAME ISSUE AS THAT RECALL. I AGAIN CALLED THE GM HOTLINE, WHO AGAIN TOLD ME MY VIN WAS NOT COVERED AND THAT GM WOULD NOT INCLUDE MY VEHICLE IN THE RECALL. THEY ADVISED ME TO TAKE IT TO A DEALER, WHO I HAVE AN APPOINTMENT WITH ON SATURDAY, 4/11, MORE THAN 2 WEEKS AFTER THE PROBLEM OCCURRED. *TR

THROUGHOUT THE COURSE OF MY TRIP HOME THE CAR DASH KEPT FLASHING A POWER STEERING ERROR MESSAGE AND THE LIGHTS ON THE DASHBOARD KEPT GETTING DIM. THE STEERING WHEEL WAS GETTING REALLY TIGHT, THE CAR ALMOST STALLED OUT SEVERAL TIMES, AND THE DIALS FLUCTUATED. THE CAR ALSO BEGAN TO SHAKE VIOLENTLY AND I BECAME AFRAID THAT I WOULD NOT MAKE IT HOME. I HAVE CONTACTED THE LOCAL CHEVROLET DEALERSHIP ABOUT THIS PROBLEM ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS AND THEY REFUSE TO EVEN LOOK AT THE CAR WITHOUT CHARGING ME. THE CAR HAS ALREADY BEEN RECALLED TWICE AND ALTHOUGH I HAVE HAD BOTH RECALL REPAIRS DONE I AM STILL HAVING PROBLEMS. EVERY TIME I DRIVE THIS CAR I FEAR FOR THE LIVES OF MY FAMILY. *TR

WHILE EXITING INTERSTATE HIGHWAY, DECELERATING ON A RIGHT-CURVING RAMP, IT BECAME EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO TURN THE STEERING WHEEL. THIS HAS REPEATED IN A NUMBER OF OTHER SITUATIONS SINCE, TURNING BOTH RIGHT AND LEFT WHILE ACCELERATING, DECELERATING, AND FROM A FULL STOP, ESPECIALLY ON TURNS OF 90 DEGREES OR MORE, BUT ALSO IN HIGHWAY SITUATIONS SUCH AS LANE CHANGES. OPERATOR HAS NOT NOTICED ANY TROUBLE LIGHTS BEFORE, DURING OR AFTER OCCURRENCES, OR HEARD ANY PARTICULAR SOUNDS OR EXPERIENCED ANY SMELLS.
