THE CAR HAS A SMELL OF GASOLINE. LOOKED UNDER THE CAR AND IT APPEARS THAT THERE IS A LEAK. THE SMELL IS STRONGER WHILE RUNNING THE CAR WITH AIR ON BUT CIRCULATION BUTTON OFF. NOTICED THIS SMELL WHILE AUTO IN MOTION.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 CHEVROLET COBALT. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT UNKNOWN SPEEDS, FOR TWENTY MINUTES GAS WAS LEAKING OUT OF THE TANK AND THE FUEL METER DECREASED TO EMPTY. HOWEVER, THERE WERE NO VISUAL SIGN OF FUEL ON THE GROUND. ADDITIONALLY, THERE WAS AN ABNORMAL ODOR OF GAS EMERGING IN AND OUT OF THE VEHICLE. THE SERVICE TIRE PRESSURE MONITOR LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO INFORMED THE TO CONTACT THE LOCAL DEALER AS WELL AS THE VEHICLE WAS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE. THE LOCAL DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 55,875.
OFTEN OVER CRANKS FOR CLOSE TO 5 SECONDS WITH VERY STRONG RAW GASOLINE FUMES WHILE PARKED ON FLAT PARKING LOT, INSIDE CAR AND OUTSIDE CAR SMELL STRONGLY. ONCE STARTED I CANT RECALL SMELLING IT BECAUSE I RUN THE RECIRCULATION A/C. THE CHECK GAS CAP NOTIFICATION APPEARS FOLLOWED BY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. I ALREADY CHANGED THE GAS CAP WITH NO EFFECT. I HAVE SEEN RECALLS ON THIS SAME PROBLEM FOR THE SAME YEAR AND MODEL BUT I HAVE BEEN TOLD I AM NOT COVERED BY THE RECALL EVEN THOUGH IT SEEMS TO BE THE SAME ISSUE. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION AS THIS IS MY ONLY VEHICLE AND I HAVE A TODDLER RIDING IN THIS CAR WITH ME.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 CHEVROLET COBALT. WHILE DRIVING AT LOW SPEEDS, THERE WAS A GRINDING NOISE COMING FROM THE STEERING WHEEL AND THE POWER STEERING WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT ALSO MENTIONED THAT THE AIR BAG WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED PERIODICALLY. THE STEERING WHEEL WAS UNABLE TO BE TURNED. WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS RESTARTED, IT FUNCTIONED NORMALLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG SENSOR AND THE ELECTRIC MOTOR POWER STEERING NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING OR REPAIRS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 141,152.
A STRONG ODOR OF GASOLINE APPEARED WITHIN THE LAST WEEK OF A 08 CHEVROLET COBALT LS. ALSO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON AND GOES OFF. ENGINE HAS TO BE CRANKED TWICE TO START. CHECKED GAS CAP, SEEMED NOT TO BE SEATING/ SEALING PROPERLY. ODBE TESTER SHOWED NO ERROR CODES. REPLACED FUEL CAP ON 10?03/2018 WITH OEM CAP. 10/04/2018 WHILE PARKED IN DRIVEWAY NOTICED PUDDLE (GAS) UNDERNEATH CAR IN FRONT OF LEFT REAR TIRE.(WIFE DROVE CAR FROM WORK, NOTICED STRONGER ODOR OF GAS ON WAY HOME). CHECKED ONLINE FORUMS SEEING COMPLAINTS OF LEAKING GAS LINES IN THIS AREA OF SAME MODEL YEAR, IT IS LEAKING UNDER A SILVER SHIELD/INSULATION.THIS IS NEAR THE EXHAUST PIPES RUNNING FROM ENGINE TO REAR OF CAR. SEVERAL COMPLAINTS STATE THAT THE LEAK IS BEING CAUSED BY CRACKS AND/OR CORROSION TO THE FUEL LINES. CHECK OF VIN # SHOWS NO OPEN SAFETY RECALLS (CAR WAS BOUGHT USED 3-4 YEARS AGO).
FUEL LEAK ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE REAR DOOR AREA. CAN SEE FUEL LEAKING AT PLASTIC LINE. IN CHECKING RECALLS, IT SEEMS GENERAL MOTORS DID ISSUE A RECALL (NUMBER IS 12190) FOR THIS EXACT PROBLEM, BUT ONLY IN CERTAIN STATES. OBVIOUSLY IT IS HAPPENING IN MORE OF THE STATES NOT INCLUDED IN THE ORIGINAL RECALL. OWNERS ONLINE ARE ALL POSTING THE SAME PROBLEMS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 CHEVROLET COBALT. THE CONTACT STATED THAT A STRONG FUEL ODOR WAS NOTICED WHEN THE DRIVER PARKED THE VEHICLE. A MECHANIC INSPECTED THE VEHICLE AND FOUND THAT THE FUEL PUMP MODULE FRACTURED. THE FUEL PUMP MODULE WAS NOT REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN A DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 12V459000 (FUEL SYSTEM GASOLINE). THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 83,652.
SMELLED GAS EMITTING FROM VEHICLE WHILE PARKED, NEXT DAY STRONG SMELL IN VEHICLE, UNCOMFORTABLE WHILE DRIVING. TOOK TO GARAGE AND WAS TOLD IT WAS UNDER RECALL FOR FUEL PUMP AND LINES FROM THE FUEL PUMP. TOOK TO GM DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD THAT THE FUEL LINES WERE CRACKED AND DISINTERGRATED,(CITED "NORTHERN CAR"). HAVING NO RECALL EFFECT. PAY 850.00 PLUS OUT OF POCKET.
I HAVE A FUEL LEAK ON THE DRIVERS SIDE MIDDLE OF THE VEHICLE, IN FRONT OF THE REAR TIRE. THIS LEAK IS FROM THE FUEL LINES AROUND THE HEAT SHIELD. IT APPEARS THE FUEL LINES ARE CORRODED. I TRIED TO GET A PRICE QUOTE ON PARTS FROM THE DEALERSHIP, BUT THEY REQUIRED ME TO TAKE IN IN FOR DIAGNOSTICS, BECAUSE THEY SAID IT WAS A COMMON PROBLEM AND SHOULD BE COVERED UNDER A RECALL. AFTER $100 THEY TOLD ME IT WASN'T COVERED AND FINALLY QUOTED ME ON THE REPAIR, OVER $1,000. NOT ONLY DO I FEEL THE PARTS WERE FAULTY, I FEEL LIKE I WAS SCAMMED OUT OF AN ADDITIONAL $100 TO CONFIRM WHAT I ALREADY KNEW. THE VEHICLE LEAKS WHEN STATIONARY, IF YOU TURN THE KEY OFF THE FUEL LINES WILL DRAIN ONTO THE GROUND UNTIL THE LINES EMPTY. STARTING THE VEHICLE TAKES ABOUT 5 SECONDS FOR THE PUMP TO GET NEW FUEL TO THE ENGINE. WHEN THE ENGINE IS ON THE FUEL WILL CONTINUALLY DRIZZLE OUT. THE LEAK WAS NOT NOTICED UNTIL A MECHANIC POINTED IT OUT IN SEPTEMBER OF 2018, BUT HAS NOW GROWN TO A BIG ISSUE. GIVEN THE PROXIMITY OF THE LEAK TO THE EXHAUST I AM CONCERNED THIS COULD BE A MAJOR ISSUE FOR SOMEONE DRIVING IN THE SOUTH, IN THE SUMMER.
DRIVER DOOR STUCK. WILL NOT OPEN. IF YOU ARE INSIDE AND THAT HAPPENS, YOU CAN NOT GET OUT THE DOOR. THE CAR HAD BEEN PARKED OUTSIDE OVERNIGHT. MORNING IT WOULD NOT OPEN. IT WILL UNLOCK, BUT NOT OPEN.
MY FUEL PUMP ASSEMBLY RETURN ON THE MODULE CRACKED AND DISENGAGED FROM THE PUMP (EQUINOX) RESULTING IN A BAD GAS LEAK. I HAD TO REPLACE IT FRIDAY, AUGUST 10, 2018. THE COST WAS $691.60.
GAS LINE LEAKING ON DRIVERS SIDE BY THE REAR TIRE ! STRONG GAS ODOR
STRONG SMELL OF FUEL COMING INTO THE CABIN OF THE CAR AND SOON AFTER A FUEL LEAK. THIS HAS BEEN A ONGOING PROBLEM WITH THE COBALTS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 CHEVROLET COBALT. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH, THE POWER STEERING FAILED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE STEERING WHEEL BECAME STIFF AND SEIZED WHILE TURNING. A DEALER AND THE MANUFACTURER WERE NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 119,000.
On July 17,2018 I saw my 2008 Chevy Cobalt was leaking fuel in my driveway around the driver's side rear tire. I had it towed to my in-town mechanic, as I have Triple A. Paid $613.37 to replace the fuel line. On August 15th, 2022 same exact problem on my 2010 Cobalt. Another $553 to replace the fuel line. Chevrolet sent out a very confusing POSSIBLE recall letter in March 2013. But never officially told owners they would fix the problem with a recall letter. There have been many complaints on this problem on 2005-2010 Cobalts.
BATTERY KEEPS DYING AND KEY IS STUCK IN IGNITION. HAVE TO KEEP REPLACING BATTERY EVERY 8 MONTHS WHICH ARE BRAND NEW 5 YEAR BATTERY. FUEL LINE WAS REPLACED BUT STILL STRONG ODOR OF GAS AND ROTTING FUEL LINE AGAIN. SAFETY HAZARD! THIS HAS BEEN REPORTED BY A LARGE NUMBER OF PEOPLE. WHY IS THERE NOT A RECALL ON THIS?? VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY AT THE TIME. THIS HAPPENS ALL THE TIME SO I CAN ONLY PUT ONE DATE IN HERE. SOMETHING IS ALSO WRONG WITH MY ELECTRICAL SYSTEM AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON ALL THE TIME AFTER DIAGNOSING WITH MY MECHANIC AND HAVING IT TURNED OFF. WHY ISN'T GM DOING ANYTHING TO HELP US?
INSTRUMENT CLUSTER MALFUNCTIONING, SPEEDOMETER AND WARNING INDICATORS FLASHING, GOING OUT, RESUMING NORMAL OPERATION, THEN REPEATING THE FAILURE SYMPTOMS REPEATEDLY. DURING FAILURE SYMPTOMS THE TRANSMISSION AND ENGINE BOG DOWN, STALL AND THE POWER STEERING ASSIST FAILS (WITH ENGINE STILL RUNNING) . RANDOM ELECTRICAL ISSUES SUCH AS THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT, CAR ALARM SENSOR, ETC FLASH ON AND OFF THEN START WORKING AGAIN TOTALLY NORMALLY. CAN NOT GET THE FAILURE TO OCCUR AT THE DEALERSHIP OR MECHANICS. FAILS SEVERAL TIMES A WEEK. FAILS WHEN DRIVING ON STREET, HIGHWAY AT LOW SPEEDS, MEDIUM SPEEDS OR HIGH SPEEDS.

FUEL LINE FROM PUMP TO ENGINE LEAKING FROM HOLE IN LINE DUE TO RUBBING ON CHASSIS
FUEL LEAK CAUSED BY RUSTED FUEL LINE. FUEL LEAKS NEAR THE REAR EXHAUST PIPE, CREATING A POTENTIAL FIRE HAZARD.
WHEN DRIVING AT A CONSTANT RATE, WITH CONSTANT ACCELERATOR PRESSURE, BETWEEN APPROXIMATELY 25 TO 50 MPH, THE RPMS JUMP/FLUCTUATE CAUSING THE CAR TO LURCH AND HESITATE. THIS CAN BE A SAFETY HAZARD, PARTICULARLY IN ICY CONDITIONS. THE ONLY WAY TO AVOID THE HESITATION IS TO ACTIVELY ACCELERATE OR DECELERATE. THERE ARE NUMEROUS OWNERS THAT HAVE POSTED AN IDENTICAL ISSUE ON MESSAGE BOARDS AND HAVE STATED THAT THEIR VEHICLES HAD SIMILAR ISSUES THAT WERE REMEDIED BY SIMILAR REPAIR PROCESSES AND THAT CHEVROLET HAS ALTERED THE PROCESS USED TO MAKE REPLACEMENT PARTS AS THE INITIAL PARTS WERE DEFECTIVE. IN ADDITION TO BEING A SAFETY HAZARD, IT IS ALSO AN EXCESSIVE AND COSTLY BURDEN ON VEHICLE OWNERS. MY VEHICLE HAS ONLY 40,000 MILES ON IT AND HAS BEEN DOING THIS SINCE UNDER 35,000 MILES. IT CANNOT BE DOCUMENTED WITHOUT A VIDEO. THE RPMS JUMPING IS A CONSTANT AND UNRELENTING ISSUE WHEN DRIVING AT A CONSTANT RATE OF SPEED BETWEEN APPROXIMATELY 25-50 MPH.
FUEL LINES RUSTED THROUGH IN FRONT OF GAS TANK AND LEAK GASOLINE.
WHILE DRIVING APROX 40 MPH ON A CITY STREET THE DIC STATES I'M LOW ON FUEL (I HAD 3/4 OF A TANK) POWER STEERING LOW AND THE CAR WOULD JERK WHEN I GAVE IT GAS I WAS ABLE TO GET IT HOME AND WHEN I TRIED TO RESTART THE CAR IT WAS VERY DIFFICULT TO STEER. I BOUGHT THE CAR USED AND WAS NEVER TOLD OF THESE RECALLS WHEN I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP THEY TOLD ME THE POWER STEERING MOTOR HAD BEEN REPLACED IN 2010 AND I WAS TO PAY FOR IT TO GET IT FIXED. ITS A VERY SAD THING TODAY THAT NO ONE WANTS TO REALLY STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCTS, SO NOW AT 70YRS OLD, ON A VERY TIGHT FIXED INCOME I WILL HAVE TO COME UP WITH MAYBE A COST OF $2000 TO FIX THIS PROBLEM

VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION IN TRAFFIC ON CITY STREET, POWER STEERING FAILED AND POWER STEERING MESSAGE APPEARED ON DASH 80 YEAR OLD ALMOST LOST COMPLETE CONTROL OF VEHICLE AND COLLISION NARROWLY AVOIDED
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 CHEVROLET COBALT. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE UPON TURNING IGNITION KEY IN THE IGNITION THE VEHICLE FAILED TO START. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE TIM LALLY CHEVROLET DEALER (440-232-2000, 24999 MILES RD, WARRENSVILLE HEIGHTS, OH 44128) WHERE THE TECHNICIAN WAS UNABLE TO COMPLETE A DIAGNOSTIC TEST BUT STATED THAT THE POWER CONTROL MODULE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND PROMISED TO INVESTIGATE AS A CASE WAS OPENED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS ABOUT 13,000.
WON'T CRANK UNLESS YOU HOLD KEY IN A CERTAIN PLACE
DASH MESSAGE SAYS POWERSTEERING AND SPEEDOMOTER STOPPED WORKING
THE VEHICLE IS A 2008 CHEVY COBALT LT AND ONLY HAS 54400 MILEAGE. ELECTRIC POWER STEERING ASSIST MOTOR HAS STOPPED WORKING WHILE ON THE ROAD AT ABOUT 40 MPH. THIS PART WAS RECALLED IN 2010, WAS REPLACED AND HAS ALREADY QUIT WORKING. SEEMS THAT THESE MOTORS ARE NOT VERY DURABLE AND CAN BE DANGEROUS TO DRIVERS AS THEY CAN GO OUT AT ANYTIME EVEN GOING DOWN THE ROAD.
NO FORWARD DRIVE,HIGH OR LOW GEAR,BUT REVERSE WAS WORKING. DRIVING AT 45 MPH FORWARD GEAR JUST WENT OUT AND I HAD TO TURN INTO A BUISNESS. WOULD NOT MOVE IN FORWARD, BUT WOULD GO IN REVERSE. HAD CAR TOWED TO HOME.
STRONG GASOLINE ODOR FROM VEHICLE WHEN PARKED AND DURING OPERATION. VERY LIKELY SAME PROBLEM ADDRESSED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN 09V419000. RECOMMEND THAT RECALL SHOULD INCLUDE ALL MODEL YEARS WITH FAULTY FUEL PUMP ASSEMBLY, AND SHOULD APPLY NATIONWIDE, NOT JUST "HOT" STATES.
HAZARD LIGHT BUTTON ISN'T PROPERLY SECURED TO THE DASHBOARD WHICH MAY CAUSE THE BUTTON TO PUSH INTO THE DASH. IF HAZARDS NEED TO BE ACTIVATED FOLLOWING AN EMERGENCY OR ANOTHER APPROPRIATE SITUATION TO USE YOUR HAZARDS, THIS COULD PREVENT THEM FROM BEING ACTIVATED; WARNING OTHER DRIVERS OF A STOPPED VEHICLE. SEVERAL TRIM PIECES NEED TO BE REMOVED TO FISH OUT THE BUTTON FROM THE INSIDE OF THE DASH, IT TAKES 10-15 MINUTES TO DO SO AND COULD PROVOKE A DANGEROUS SITUATION WHILE ATTEMPTING TO DEACTIVATE YOUR HAZARDS (IF THEY ACTIVATED IN THE FIRST PLACE)
CAR HAD TROUBLE STARTING AND HAD A STRONG ODOR OF GASOLINE. I TOOK THE CAR TO A MECHANIC AND WAS TOLD THERE WAS A FUEL LEAK.
THE FUEL LINE RUST OUT AND LEAKS GAS. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION BUT APPARENTLY NOT COVERED BY RECALL 12V459000. THIS GAS LEAK SHOULD DEFIANTLY INCLUDED IN THAT RECALL. MY CAR IS DRIVEN BY A TEENAGER AND HE DID NOT NOTICE THE LEAK UNTIL I SAW IT. THE REPAIRS WERE OVER $800.00. THIS HAPPENED TO BOTH OF OUR CHEVY COBALTS IN THE SAME WEEK.

ON ANOTHER OCCASION, WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED AND THE CHECK TIRE SENSOR WARNING MESSAGE WAS ILLUMINATED. THE STEERING WHEEL BECAME DIFFICULT TO TURN, BUT THE CONTACT MANAGED TO DRIVE HOME. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC AND THE WARNING INDICATOR TURNED OFF. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO SUPERIOR CHEVROLET (LOCATED AT 4770 COVINGTON HWY, DECATUR, GA 30035, (404) 284-7630), BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
TOOK MY CAR IN BECAUSE IT IS EXPERIENCING A LONG PERIOD OF TIME CRANKING BEFORE STARTING EACH TIME, AND I FIND OUT THAT I HAVE A FUEL LINE LEAK. AFTER DOING SOME RESEARCH TO SEE IF THERE IS A RECALL, I FIND THAT MY YEAR AND MODEL ARE NOT INCLUDED, ALTHOUGH MANY OTHER 08 CHEVY COBALTS ARE. THIS REALLY CONCERNS ME THAT THIS MODEL OF VEHICLE HAS BEEN LEFT OUT OF RECALLS THAT AFFECT THE SAFETY OF MY MODE OF TRANSPORTATION.
STRONG SMELL OF GASOLINE COMING FROM VEHICLE. HESITATION UPON FIRST STARTING VEHICLE. OBVIOUS SIGNS OF A GASOLINE LEAK FROM CRACKED FUEL PUMP MODULATOR WHICH POSED A FIRE RISK.
STRONG GASOLINE ODOR DURING STARTUP, AND SOMETIMES AFTER I TURN IT OFF. VIN #: 1G1AK18F087105601
THE DASH MESSAGE SAYS POWER STEERING. AS I WAS EXCELLERATING IN THE ON RAMP OF THE HIGHWAY, THE RPM JUMPED UP TO 6,000 ALL ON ITS OWN AND NOW IT WILL NOT SHIFT GEARS, DOES NOT READ ANY MPH, AND CAN BARELY GO MORE THAN 20MPH. THIS WAS UNEXPECTED AND HAD NO WARNINGS PRIOR TO. ALTHOUGH IT STILL FUNCTIONS (TURNS ON, RUNS, HAS ALL POWER AVAILABLE, HAS REVERSE) IT IS ULTIMATELY DISABLED. ALSO, THE FUEL LINES/ FUEL PUMP FAILED CAUSING A GAS LEAK, MAKING IT A CHALLENGE TO START THE VEHICLE. I HAVE PATCHED THE FUEL LINE AS A TEMPORARY FIX. I HAVE ALREADY REPLACED THE LOWER CONTROL ARMS AND THE TIMING CHAINS AT MY OWN EXPENSE

AFTER A FEW MINUTES OF STARTING AND RESTARTING THE VEHICLE, THE POWER STEERING RETURNED. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE FAILURE OCCURRED SEVERAL TIMES BEFORE BEING TAKEN TO THE DEALER. QUIRK CHEVROLET (444 QUINCY AVENUE, BRAINTREE, MA 02184 (781) 348-9660) DIAGNOSED THAT THE POWER STEERING MOTOR FAILED AND NEEDED REPLACEMENT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED AND WAS SERVICED IN 2017 PER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 10V073000 (STEERING). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND CONFIRMED THAT THE WARRANTY HAD EXPIRED AFTER ONE YEAR FROM THE DATE OF THE RECALL SERVICE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
I WOKE UP TO FIND THAT MY CAR WAS LEAKING FUEL. THERE WAS NO ACCIDENT OR INCIDENT. THE LEAK IS FROM THE REAR DRIVER'S SIDE. THIS SEEMS TO BE DESCRIBED IN OTHER 2008 CHEVROLET COBALTS AND IS COVERED IN SOME CASES UNDER A RECALL #12191B. MY VIN IS NOT INCLUDED SO I WAS HOPING TO RAISE AWARENESS THAT THIS PROBLEM CONTINUES TO OCCUR ON CARS OF THIS YEAR AND MODEL.

THE DEALER (SUNRISE CHEVROLET BUICK GMC, 4605 S HOUSTON LEVEE RD, COLLIERVILLE, TN 38017) WAS CONTACTED AND A TECHNICIAN INFORMED THE CONTACT THE DEALER WOULD NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE REPAIR COST SINCE THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN A RECALL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 263,000.

THE POWERSTEARING MESSAGE APPEARED ON MY DASHBOARD LAST NIGHT WHILE, THANKFULLY I WAS PARKED AND STATIONERY BEFORE I TURNEDMY CAR ON. I HAD NO MOBILITY WITH THE STEERING WHEEL AND APPEARED TO BE LOCKED UP. I TURNED OFF THE ENGINE AND AFTER STARTING THE CAR A SHORT BIT LATER THE CAR WAS OPERATIONAL. THE CAR RUNS FINE FOR NOW BUT I FEAR IT WILL HAPPEN AGAIN. TO ADD BEFORE THIS HAPPENED I JUST FINISHED DRIVING 500 MILES WHEN I PARKED THE CAR.

I HAVE BEEN SMELLING GAS FROM MY CAR FOR A FEW WEEKS NOW. I COULD EVEN SEE IT DRIPPING WHEN I STOOD CLOSE TO THE CAR. HAD A MECHANIC LOOK AT IT AND HE TOLD ME THE FUEL PUMP AND HOSE NEEDS TO BE REPLACED BECAUSE IT WAS CRACKED.HE WANTED $550 TO REPAIR IT. I CAN'T AFFORD TO REPAIR IT RIGHT NOW.
MY 2008 CHEVY COBALT BEGAN SECRETING A VERY STRONG FUEL ODOR; IT DIDN'T MATTER IF IT WAS PARKED, OR DRIVING, THE ODOR HAS BEEN PROMINENT 24/7. I CHECKED FOR LEAKS AND FOUND NOTHING. I RECENTLY MOVED, SO I HAVE YET TO FIND A NEW, TRUSTWORTHY MECHANIC, SO I'VE BEEN DRIVING MY HUSBANDS CAR DUE TO THE FACT THAT I DO NOT FEEL SAFE DRIVING THE CHEVY AT THIS POINT. I HAD HOWEVER, BEEN REGULARLY STARTING THE ENGINE ONCE A WEEK, WHILE TRYING TO LOCATE A MECHANIC, HOWEVER NOW. FUEL LEAK - FUEL LINE AND EVAP LINE ARE STEEL AND ROUTED NEAT DRIVER REAR WHEEL. FUEL AND EVAP LINE ARE EXPOSED TO ROAD SALTS AND OTHER ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS RESULTING IN CORROSION LEADING TO FUEL LEAKS
COOLANT IS NOT READING, AIR CONDITIONER DON'T WORK AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON. IT WILL STAY LIKE THIS FOR A DAY OR SO THEN BY THE TIME I GET IT INTO THE SHOP IT STARTS TO READ AGAIN AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT GOES OUT AIR CONDITIONER WILL WORK AGAIN AND THERE ARE NO CODES TO READ. REPAIR SHOP CAN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG. THEY SAID POSSIBLE THERMOSTAT ISSUE OR SENSOR ISSUE BUT WITHOUT CODES OR CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON THEY HAVE NO IDEA. IT KEEPS DOING IT BUT IT SEEMS TO CORRECT IT SELF BEFORE I CAN GET IT BACK TO THE GARAGE USUALLY OVER A WEEKEND WHEN THEY ARE CLOSED OR VERY BUSY. I HAVE HAD THIS ISSUE FOR A COUPLE MONTHS NOW, IT HAS NOT APPEARED TO CAUSE ANY OVER HEATING OR MADE ANY OTHER SOUNDS THAT I AM AWARE OF.
THE KEY IS STUCK IN THE IGNITION AND THE CAR WILL NOT START. IN ADDITION, I CAN'T GET THE GEAR TO SHIFT TO PARK TO MOVE TO NEUTRAL, I'VE LOST ALL POWER TO THE CAR FROM THE LIGHTS TO BEING UNABLE TO OPEN THE TRUNK. I HAD TO PUT THE EMERGENCY BREAK ON FOR FEAR THAT THE CAR WOULD ROLL AWAY BECAUSE I COULDN'T MOVE THE GEAR SHIFT. THE CAR HAS BEEN PARKED IN MY DRIVEWAY FOR THE LAST THREE MONTHS.
