TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHEVROLET COLORADO. WHILE DRIVING 15 MPH, THE BRAKE PEDAL VIBRATED AND EXTENDED TO THE FLOOR WHEN IT WAS DEPRESSED. THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT STOP. THE TRANSMISSION WAS SHIFTED TO A LOWER GEAR IN AN ATTEMPT TO STOP THE VEHICLE. THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 200 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 10,000.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHEVROLET COLORADO. THE VEHICLE HAS GENERAL AMERI-GS60 TIRES (P235/75R15). WHILE DRIVING 45 MPH, THE CONTACT HEARD A LOUD HUMMING NOISE. SECONDS LATER, HE HEARD A BOOMING NOISE AND NOTICED THAT THE SIDEWALL WAS MISSING ON THE DRIVER SIDE REAR TIRE. AS OF JUNE 25, 2007, THE DEALER HAS NOT DETERMINED THE CAUSE OF FAILURE. THE CURRENT MILEAGE IS 6,836 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 6,780.
TRUCK MISFIRING ON ALL CYLINDERS SINCE AROUND JUNE 2007. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON SOME, OFF SOME. JUNE 19 DEALER SAID MISFIRING ON ALL CYLINDERS AND THEY WERE STUMPED. THEY FIRST GUESSED BAD GASOLINE THEN SAID COMPUTER NEEDED RECONFIGURING. STILL MISFIRING WHEN I LEFT SHOP. ON JULY 19 RETURNED TO DEALER. THEY SAID IT WAS A GM PROBLEM THAT GM WAS AWARE OF...POSSIBLY CRANKSHAFT SENSOR AND FOR ME TO COME BACK IN TWO WEEKS. ON AUG 18 I TOOK TRUCK BACK TO DEALER AFTER ENGINE QUIT IN A ROLLING TURN IN MIDDLE OF INTERSECTION. DEALER REPLACED FUEL PUMP AND SPARK PLUGS AND SAID THEY THOUGHT WATER WAS IN FUEL. DON'T GO BACK TO SAME GAS STATIONS THEY SAID. I HAVEN'T. TRUCK STILL WAS MISFIRING WHEN I LEFT. ON 9-26 I WENT BACK TO DEALER. TRUCK ENGINE SHUT OFF WHILE I WAS DOING 70MPH DOWN BUSY INTERSTATE. MADE IT TO SIDE OF ROAD, RESTARTED AND CONTINUED ON MY WAY. DEALER SAID IT WAS COMPUTER LOOSING COMMUNICATIONS INTERNALLY AND HAD CLOGGED FUEL INJECTORS. LEFT DEALER AND TRUCK STILL MISFIRING. DROVE IT FOR A DAY OR TWO AND WHEN FRIEND WHO WENT TO LUNCH WITH ME WONDERED IF WE WERE GOING TO MAKE IT BACK FROM LUNCH I DECIDED TO CALL DEALER. CALLED DEALER AND WAS TOLD IT WAS A SOFTWARE PROBLEM AND THAT GM IS WORKING ON IT. GROAN! TRUCK IS ALMOST OUT OF WARRANTY AND I AM WONDERING WHEN NEXT TIME ENGINE WILL QUIT RUNNING AND UNDER WHAT DRIVING CONDITIONS. THANKS....ROGER DOWDY *TR
2006 CHEVV COLORADO PU. 2WD. THE FRONT DISK BRAKE CALIPERS CAME LOOSE. NOTICEABLE WHEN DRIVEING ON WASHBOARD ROADS ; A LOOSE RATTELING SOUND THAT BECAME WORSE OVER TIME. FIRST NOTICED AT ABOUT 12,000 MI. MAY BE CAUSE OF OCCASIONAL UNEVEN STOPPING OF VEHICLE. REPAIRED UNDER WARRENTY WITH OE PARTS YESTERDAY; CONCERNED PROBLEM WILL REOCCUR WITN TIME. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHEVROLET COLORADO. WHEN IDLING OR DRIVING 20 MPH, THE ENGINE RPM'S INCREASE. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS DESIGNED THAT WAY FOR BETTER EMISSION. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THE IDLING COULD NOT BE CORRECTED. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 4,000 AND THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
BRAKES SQUEAK AND GRAB AFTER RAIN OR WHEN WET. PROBLEM OCCURS MOSTLY UPON FIRST COUPLE OF STOPS. I HAVE REFERRED TO THE DEALER THEY SAID RUST BUILDUP ON ROTORS NORMAL CONDITION. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHEVROLET COLORADO. THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT HE RECEIVED ONLY ONE KEYLESS ENTRY FOB FOR THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR AFTER PURCHASING THE VEHICLE. HE PLANNED ON TAKING THE VEHICLE TO A DEALER TO FILE A COMPLAINT ABOUT THE KEYLESS ENTRY DOOR. THERE HAD BEEN NO FAILURE TO DATE. THE VIN AND ENGINE SIZE WERE UNKNOWN. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHEVROLET COLORADO. THE VEHICLE HAS GENERAL, SIZE P235R15 TIRES. THE FRONT TIRES WERE EXTREMELY WORN ON THE OUTER EDGES. THE DEALER REPLACED THE FRONT TIRES ONCE AND ROTATED THEM TWICE. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE TIRES SHOULD BE ROTATED EVERY 3,000 MILES. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS UNKNOWN. THE VIN AND DOT NUMBER WERE UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 3,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 7,300. THE CONSUMER STATED NISSAN PROTECTOR PART IS A RECOMMENDATION AS PART OF THE REPAIR. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHEVROLET COLORADO. THE CONTACT OPENED THE TAILGATE AND NOTICED THAT ONE SIDE WAS COMPLETELY TIGHT AND THE OTHER SIDE WAS LOOSE. HE FEELS THAT ONE SIDE WILL FAIL SOON SINCE ALL OF THE PRESSURE IS ON ONE SIDE. CHEVROLET ADVISED HIM NOT TO REPAIR IT BECAUSE IT WAS NORMAL WITH HIS TYPE OF VEHICLE. BAD VIBRATION IN MY 2006 CHEVROLET COLORADO BETWEEN 50-70 MPH. I HAVE BEEN TO THE DEALERSHIP 6 TIMES WITH THIS ISSUE. HERE ARE THE THINGS THEY HAVE CHECKED TO TRY TO FIX THE PROBLEM *REPLACE TIRES WITH SAME BRAND *CHECK DRIVE SHAFT *REPLACE TIRES WITH DIFFERENT BRAND *FORCE BALANCE TIRES *CHECK SUSPENSION THE PROBLEM STILL EXISTS AND GM SAID THAT THERE IS NOTHING MORE THAT THEY CAN DO. *JB
PURCHASED MY 2006 CHEVY COLORADO AND TOOK A ROAD TRIP TO CALIFORNIA AND NOTICED THAT WHEN HITTING THE SPEED OF 65-75 THERE WAS A LOUD AIR SOUND COMING FROM THE DRIVER SIDE WINDOW. I TOOK IT IN AND TOLD THE SERVICE ADVISOR AT THE CHEVY DEALER WHAT WAS HAPPENING AND HE CHECKED IT AND SAID THE RUBBER TRIM WAS LOOSE. DROVE IT AGAIN AND IT WAS WORSE, TOOK IT IN AGAIN AND WAS TOLD THAT IT WAS NORMAL TO HEAR SUCH A NOISE WHILE DRIVING. TAKING IT IN AGAIN BECAUSE IT IS SO LOUD IT DRIVES MY CRAZY. *JB
REAR BRAKES HAVE FAILED FOUR TIMES SINCE PURCHASE; ALMOST CAUSED TWO CRASHES. CRUISE CONTROL DOESN'T ALWAYS WORK. BRAKE LIGHTS ONLY WORK SOMETIMES. *JB
ON MY 2006 CHEVROLET COLORADO, THE EVAPORATION SOLENOID (ASSEMBLY), WHICH IS MOUNTED ON THE RIGHT END OF THE EVAPORATION CANISTER, IS ONLY SECURED ON ONE END. THERE IS LOOSE PLAY IN THE MOUNT. THE EVAPORATION SOLENOID CAN MOVE UP AND DOWN, EVERY TIME YOU HIT A ROUGH PLACE IN THE ROAD. I CHECKED SEVERAL OTHER NEW 2006 COLORADOS AND ONE NEW 2007 COLORADO. THEY WERE ALL LOOSE. THE 2007 WAS THE WORSE ONE. THE SOLENOID IS CONNECTED TO THE CANISTER WITH PLASTIC TUBING. THE CANISTER IS CONNECTED WITH PLASTIC TUBING TO THE FUEL TANK AND ENGINE. MY FEAR IS THAT THE CONSTANT MOVING UP AND DOWN COULD DAMAGE THE SOLENOID VALVE OR CAUSE THE TUBING CONNECTED TO IT TO SPLIT. RELEASING GASOLINE FUMES UNDER THE TRUCK WHILE THE ENGINE IS NOT RUNNING, AND PUTTING UNFILTERED AIR INTO ENGINE-FUEL TANK WHEN IT IS RUNNING. MY DEALER IS AWARE OF THE PROBLEM, BUT WANTS TO "TIE THE SOLENOID ASSEMBLY DOWN." I FEEL THAT THIS IS A FACTORY PROBLEM AND SHOULD BE ADDRESSED BY GENERAL MOTORS, AND NOT SHIFTED BACK TO THE DEALER. I WILL IN THE MEANTIME EXAMINE OTHER NEW 2007 COLORADOS TO SEE IF THE PROBLEM HAS ALREADY BEEN CORRECTED. IF IT HAS, I FEEL THAT I DESERVE A RECALL. P.S. THE EVAPORATION CANISTER AND SOLENOID IS MOUNTED UNDER THE TRUCK BED, IN FRONT OF THE SPARE TIRE, AND BEHIND THE REAR AXLE, NOT TOO FAR FROM THE FUEL TANK. THE FLOPPING UP AND DOWN PRODUCES CLUNKING NOISES , WHICH IS NOT GOOD, BECAUSE I KNOW WHAT IT IS.
TL* - WHILE DRIVING THE 2006 CHEVROLET COLORADO THE CONTACT'S VISION WAS LIMITED DUE TO THE HEADREST. THE REAR SEAT HEADREST WAS AN OBSTRUCTION WHETHER LOOKING IN THE REVIEW MIRROR OR TURNING TO LOOK OUT OF THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE. THERE HAVE BEEN NO CRASHES TO DATE. *AK UPDATED 01/30/07. *JB
ON OCCASION, MY VEHICLE WILL NOT START. IT APPEARS THAT THE ANTI-THEFT SYSTEM COMES ON AND WILL NOT ALLOW THE VEHICLE TO START. LETTING THE VEHICLE SIT FOR TEN MINUTES TENDS TO FIX THE PROBLEM. MY VEHICLE HAS APPROXIMATELY 65K MILES AND THIS OCCURS ROUGHLY SIX TIMES A YEAR. WHEN THE DEALER TRIES TO IDENTIFY THE PROBLEM, THEY CANNOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH IT.
2006 CHEVY COLORADO PROBLEMS WITH AIRBAGS AND ENGINE STUTTERING. CONSUMER STATES THAT AIRBAGS SENSOR CAN NOT TELL WHEN HIS WIFE OR DAUGHTER ARE IN THE PASSENGER SEAT. HE STATES THAT THE ENGINE STUTTERS WHEN THE TEMPERATURE IS DECREASED. *KB THE CONSUMER STATED THE AIR BAG LIGHT DID NOT TURN ON WHEN THE SEAT WAS OCCUPIED AND SOMETIMES THE AIR BAG INDICATOR WOULD SUDDENLY SHOW THE PASSENGER AIR BAG WAS OFF. THE CONSUMER ALSO STATED ON ONE OCCASION, THE VEHICLE DID NOT WANT TO MOVE; IT WENT A VERY SLOW PACE NO MATTER HOW HARD THE ACCELERATOR WAS APPLIED. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE DEALER STATED THEY FOUND A FUEL INJECTOR LEAKING. *JB
1. VERY THIN METAL, BODY PANELS, ESPECIALLY FRONT FENDERS, MOVE TOWARD HOOD WHILE WAXING FENDERS, LOWER BED SIDES PAPER THIN, BEND VERY EASILY. 2. BAD VIBRATION BETWEEN 52-55 MILES PER HOUR. 3. FRONT BUMPER MISALIGNED FROM FACTORY, HAS A CHIP IN PAINT IN LOWER FRONT FENDERS WHERE AND WHEN BUMPER WAS INSTALLED AT FACTORY, ONE SIDE WAS TOUCHED UP AT FACTORY.4. BED MISALIGNED, TOO FAR TOWARD DRIVERS SIDE.5. INTERIOR VERY CHEAPLY MADE, PLASTIC PANEL BEHIND SEATS (REGULAR CAB) SQUEAKS, RATTLES. THIS TRUCK WAS BOUGHT NEW WITH 33 MILES ON IT, IT NOW HAS 553 MILES ON IT AND I HAVE OWNED IT A MONTH AND A HALF. *JB
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED WHILE APPLYING BRAKE PRESSURE AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THERE WAS AN INCREASED STOPPING DISTANCE, AND THE ANTILOCK BRAKES ACTIVATED. THE VEHICLE WAS INSPECTED BY A DEALER WHO DETERMINED THE FRONT BRAKE PADS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED, AND THE ROTORS RESURFACED. AFTERWARDS, THE PROBLEM PERSISTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT ALERTED.
WE FEEL THAT 2006 CHEVROLET COLORADO PICKUP WE PURCHASED HAS A DEFECTIVE FRONT END. FRONT TIRE INSIDE TREAD WORE OFF AT 10,000 MILES. AT APPROXIMATELY 22,000 MILES IS DOING SAME THING. FRONT END IS PIGEON TOED?? DEALER SAYS IT IS BECAUSE WE DIDN'T ROTATE TIRES. WE DON'T BELIEVE THEM!! OUR MECHANIC DOESN'T EITHER!! WE THINK IT IS A DEFECTIVE FRONT END! *NM
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED WHILE APPLYING SLIGHT BRAKE PRESSURE AT VARIOUS SPEEDS ON VARIOUS ROAD CONDITIONS, THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS VERY SENSITIVE TO THE TOUCH AND CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO COME TO AN ABRUPT STOP. THE VEHICLE WAS INSPECTED BY A DEALER WHO WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED.
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING 15 MPH, THE LEFT REAR LEAF ASSEMBLY FRACTURED WITHOUT WARNING WHICH CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO CRASH INTO A BARRICADE. NO INJURIES WERE SUSTAINED. THE VEHICLE SUSTAINED MINOR DAMAGE TO THE LEFT REAR QUARTER PANEL AND PASSENGER SIDE DOOR. THE POLICE WERE ALERTED AND A REPORT WAS TAKEN. THE DEALER WAS ALERTED AND A FACTORY REPRESENTATIVE WAS SCHEDULED TO PERFORM FURTHER INSPECTION ON THE VEHICLE. UPDATED 12/01/06. *JB
WHEN USING THE CRUISE CONTROL ON MY 2006 CHEVROLET COLORADO, PARTICULARLY WHEN GOING DOWNHILL, THE CRUISE CONTROL DOES NOT HOLD THE SET SPEED. SETTING THE CRUISE CONTROL AT 55 MPH AND THEN GOING DOWNHILL, THE VEHICLE WILL ACCELERATE UP TO 64 OR 65 MPH. OBVIOUSLY, TO OBEY TRAFFIC LAWS, THE BRAKES ARE APPLIED AND DISENGAGES THE CRUISE CONTROL. HOWEVER, WHEN THE CRUISE CONTROL IS SET AT 65 MPH, AND GOES DOWN HILL, THE SPEED WILL ONLY INCREASE TO ONLY 67-68 MPH. I HAVE TRIED SETTING THE CRUISE CONTROL AT 55 MPH ON VARIOUS ROADS GOING DOWNHILL, AND THE RESULTS ARE CONSISTENT. THE SPEED OF THE VEHICLE WILL INCREASE BY 9 TO 10 MPH. WHEN I FIRST PURCHASED THE VEHICLE, GENERAL MOTORS DID CONTACT ME SOLICITING MY FEEDBACK ON THE NEW VEHICLE. I DID MAKE THE REPRESENTATIVE AWARE OF THE PROBLEM WITH THE CRUISE CONTROL. I WAS ALSO ASKED IF I WOULD BE WILLING TO TALK TO AN ENGINEER ABOUT THE PROBLEM. I WAS AGREEABLE TO THIS, BUT WAS NEVER CONTACTED BY GM. I HAD THE CRUISE CONTROL CHECKED BY MY DEALER. THE DEALER FOUND THAT THE CRUISE CONTROL WAS WORKING ACCORDING TO SPECIFICATIONS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TESTED UNDER THE SAME DRIVING CONDITIONS THAT I EXPERIENCED THE PROBLEM. I HAVE ALSO SENT A LETTER TO GM CHEVROLET CUSTOMER ASSISTANCE TWO WEEKS AGO, IN REGARD TO THE CRUISE CONTROL PROBLEM. AS OF THIS DATE, I HAVE HAD NO RESPONSE. ON A SEPARATE NOTE, I HAVE OTHER CHEVROLET PICK-UP TRUCKS IN THE FAMILY AND THE CRUISE CONTROL HOLDS THE SET SPEED GOING DOWN THE SAME HILLS THAT THE CRUISE CONTROL FAILS ON THE 2006 COLORADO. THIS PROBLEM HAS BEEN OCCURRING SINCE JANUARY WHEN I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE. *JB
DEFECTIVE DESIGN OF AIR BAG SENSOR SYSTEM. THIS SYSTEM DEACTIVATES THE FRONTAL PASSENGER AIRBAG FOR PASSENGERS OF LESS THAN A FIXED WEIGHT, FOR THE PROTECTION OF SMALL CHILDREN. HOWEVER, THERE IS NO MANUAL OVERRIDE, AND THE SYSTEM DEACTIVATES FOR TEENS AND ADULTS ALSO, OF AT LEAST 90 LBS. WEIGHT. THUS, THERE IS NO AIRBAG PROTECTION FOR MY WIFE, WHO WEIGHS 90 LBS. HER WEIGHT WILL NOT ACTIVATE THE AIRBAG SYSTEM, AND THERE IS NO MANUAL WAY TO TURN IT ON. THIS IS A SERIOUS INJURY WAITING TO HAPPEN, FOR ANY SMALL WOMAN OR ADOLESCENT OR OLDER CHILD WHO WISHES TO USE THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT: THEY HAVE AN AIRBAG BUT IT WILL NOT OPERATE FOR THEM. I WAS TOLD BY THE DEALERSHIP THAT THIS NEW TRUCK COMES THIS WAY, AND CANNOT BE FIXED. A CALL TO CHEVROLET RESULTED IN THE SAME RESPONSE. "THE UNIT IS UP TO DESIGN CODE - HENCE, THERE IS NO PROBLEM." THERE CERTAINLY IS A PROBLEM. *NM
COLUMN SHIFTER FOR AUTO TRANS DEFECTIVE. WILL NOT GO INTO PARK POSITION. HAVE TO SHUT OFF IN REVERSE. WILL ALLOW YOU TO REMOVE KEY IN REVERSE. HAVE TO TURN KEY ON IN REVERSE, THEN SHIFT TO NUETRAL TO START. *NM
2006 CHEVROLET COLORADO - 4 DOOR - 5 CYLINDER ENGINE - 4 WHEEL DRIVE TRUCK HAS SHUT DOWN WHILE DRIVING IT WITH NO WARNING. THIS HAS HAPPENED 5-6 TIMES. DEALER CANNOT FIND PROBLEM AS IT IS ALWAYS RUNNING WHEN THEY GET IT. IT HAS BEEN TOWED TO THE DEALER ONCE. THIS PROBLEM IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AS THERE IS NO WARNING. THE ENGINE JUST QUITS. ONCE THE ENGINE QUITS AND YOU GET THE TRUCK OFF THE ROAD, YOU SIMPLY CUT THE KEY OFF AND RESTART THE TRUCK. ONE TIME I COULD NOT GET IT TO RUN AGAIN AND IT HAD TO BE TOWED. I CANNOT BEGIN TO TELL YOU HOW SCARY THIS IS WHEN YOU ARE IN TRAFFIC AND HAVE NO PLACE TO GO. THE DEALER TELLS ME TO KEEP DRIVING THE VEHICLE AS THE COMPUTER SHOWS NO PROBLEMS. *NM
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHEVROLET COLORADO. WHILE DRIVING 10MPH ANOTHER VEHICLE CAUSED HIM TO ENGAGED THE BRAKES ABRUPTLY AND THEY FAILED TO STOP THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT REAPPLIED THE BRAKES AND THE VEHICLE SLOWED DOWN JUST ENOUGH TO MANEUVER AND PREVENT A CRASH. THE BRAKE FAILURE OCCURS DAILY. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 4000. THE DEALER HAS REPLACED THE BRAKES ON MORE THAN ONE OCCASION AND THE PROBLEM CONTINUED TO OCCUR. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 17000.
VEHICLE PURCHASED NEW ON 05/2006. LESS THAN A MONTH AFTER PURCHASE THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT START DUE TO PASSLOCK SYSTEM BELIEVING THE CAR WAS IN THE PROCESS OF BECOMING STOLEN. OWNER WOULD UNLOCK VEHICLE WITH KEY FOB AND PLACE KEY IN IGNITION TO START, BUT RED LOCK ICON ON DASHBOARD WOULD BLINK AND ENGINE WOULD NOT TURN OVER. ORIGINAL KEY AND ORIGINAL KEY FOB USED AT ALL TIMES OF OCCURRENCE. OWNER WOULD HAVE TO WAIT TEN MINUTES AND TRY AGAIN IF VEHICLE WOULD NOT START FOR PASSLOCK SYSTEM TO DISENGAGE. WHILE UNDER WARRANTY, CUSTOMER BROUGHT VEHICLE INTO GM DEALER MULTIPLE TIMES AND THE PROBLEM COULD NOT BE VERIFIED. THIS LEFT CUSTOMER STRANDED IN MULTIPLE LOCATIONS AT TIMES AND IN SITUATIONS THAT COULD HAVE LEFT OWNER IN A DANGEROUS SITUATION BASED ON AREA. AT ONE POINT, CUSTOMER COULD NOT START VEHICLE AFTER A HALF HOUR, HE THAN CALLED GM AND HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED UNDER WARRANTY, THE GM DEALERSHIP STATED PROBLEM WAS FIXED OR CORRECTED. NOW, NO LONGER UNDER WARRANTY VEHICLE HAS SAME ISSUE OCCURRING INTERMITTENTLY. COST TO REPLACE PASSLOCK SENSOR IS TOO COSTLY FOR OWNER TO AFFORD. OTHER VEHICLE MAINTENANCE IS PROPERLY DONE ACCORDING TO OWNER'S MANUAL BY LOCAL MECHANIC. THEY REPLACED THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL AND THROTTLE BODY, BUT THE PROBLEM STILL EXISTS. ADDITIONALLY, THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG LIGHT ILLUMINATED. ALTHOUGH THE DEALER WAS ALERTED NO APPOINTMENT FOR INSPECTION WAS MADE.
I HAVE A 2006 COLORADO 2006 CREW CAB L-5 ENGINE. I HAVE OWNED IT FOR 2 1/2 MONTHS. IT HAS BEEN TO THE DEALER FOR 1. REAR MAIN BEARING SEAL LEAK THREE TIMES. 2. TWO WHEEL ALIGNMENTS. 3. AUTO- TRANSMISSION CABLE FELL OFF. THIS WAS WHEN I WAS BRINGING IT IN TO THE DEALER FOR ONE OF THE MANY REPAIRS. 4. IT STILL HAS TO GO BACK FOR REPLACING THE REAR WINDOW (ON ORDER). THIS VEHICLE HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP FOR 25% OF THE TIME I HAVE OWNED IT. *NM
I RECENTLY PURCHASED A NEW 2006 CHEVROLET COLORADO PICKUP. IT DID NOT COME WITH POWER LOCKS AND HAS NO KEY LOCK ON THE PASSENGER DOOR. THE ONLY WAY TO UNLOCK THE VEHICLE WAS ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE. THIS MEANS I HAVE TO TAKE MY CHILD OUT INTO THE STREET TO PUT THEM IN THE TRUCK OR LEAVE THEM STANDING ON THE SIDEWALK WHILE I RUN AROUND TO UNLOCK THEIR DOOR. THIS MAKES NO SENSE. PLEASE ASK GMC TO RECALL THESE VEHICLES AND INSTALL KEY LOCKS TO LOCK AND UNLOCK THE PASSENGER DOORS. *AK
THE PASSENGER DOOR ON THE COLORADO (WITHOUT ELECTRIC LOCKS) DOES NOT HAVE A KEY LOCK TO OPEN THE DOOR. CHEVROLET SAYS THIS WAS DECIDED BY A FOCUS GROUP AND DOES NOT HAVE A KIT TO RECTIFY THIS PROBLEM. THE ONLY ENTRANCE TO THE LOCKED VEHICLE IS THROUGH THE DRIVER'S DOOR. A CASE NUMBER IS FURNISHED AND CHEVROLET REFERS TO THE DEALER WHO DOES NOT HAVE A KIT AS OF THIS DATE. *JB
MY CHEVY COLORADO HAS THE SAME ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS THAT I HAVE BEEN HEARING ABOUT. THE DEALER CAN NOT FIND THE PROBLEM AS IT IS INTERMITTENT. YOU NEVER KNOW WHEN IT WILL HAPPEN, BUT THE MOTOR WILL NOT START. I HAVE CHANGED THE START RELAY, AND RUN RELAY., BUT THAT DOES NOT HELP AFTER SITTING AWHILE IT WILL START. IT IS DANGEROUS AS YOU COULD BE ANYWHERE WHEN THIS HAPPENS. ALSO AT ANY TIME THE ABS WARNING LIGHT COMES ON FOR NO REASON, AND THEN GOES AWAY. I WANTED A TRUCK THAT I COULD TRUST. THERE IS NOT A LOCK CYLINDER ON THE VEHICLE AND IT IS NOT EQUIPPED WITH KEYLESS ENTRY. THIS WAS NOT EXPLAINED WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED. AT ABOUT 12,000 MILES, OWNING TRUCK FOR LESS THAN A YEAR, THE BRAKES STARTED TO SQUEAK, AND THEN GRIND. SERVICE DEPARTMENT SAID THAT THERE WAS A HIGH METAL CONTENT IN FRONT PADS. FRONT BRAKE PADS WERE REPLACED AT 15,000 MILES. *JB
