The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, she became aware that the vehicle was handling poorly, after which the tire pressure system service light illuminated. Upon parking the vehicle, the contact smelled a burning odor around the exterior of the vehicle. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer or an independent mechanic. The vehicle was not repaired. After investigating the failure, the contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 11V511000 (Tires), but the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but provided no assistance. The failure mileage was 78,000.

CONTINUE ISSUES WITH THE TIRE SENSORS AND FALSE READINGS. I HAVE HAD THE VEHICLE TO SHOP AT LEAST 2 X A MONTH FOR THIS AND STILL SAME ISSUE. I SEE THAT IN 2011 THIS AS AN ISSUE WITH THE VEHICLE, BUT I MY VEHICLE WAS BUILT JULY 2012. LIGHT COMES ON AT 30LBS AND EVERYTIME THERE IS NO ISSUE WITH ANY OF THE TIRES. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 CHEVROLET EQUINOX. WHILE OPERATING THE VEHICLE, THE TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM ERRONEOUSLY INDICATED THAT THE AIR PRESSURE IN THE REAR PASSENGER TIRE WAS LOW. THE CONTACT INSPECTED THE TIRE AND DETERMINED THAT THE AIR PRESSURE WAS NORMAL. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER 11V511000 (WHEELS). THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE EXPERIENCED THE SAME FAILURE LISTED IN THE RECALL. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 53,000.
ON FIRST VISIT IN AUGUST 2012 WAS TOLD IT WAS A WHEEL NOISE AND THAT IT WOULD GO AWAY .DAYS LATER NOISE WAS BACK .TOOK IT BACK TO DEALER SERVICE MANAGER RODE WITH ME HEARD NOISE. CAR WAS KEPT A DAY ON PICKING IT UP WAS TOLD IT WAS A "MOANING NOISE" AND IT WAS DUE TO RUBBER SEAL DRYING AND RUBBING ON METAL SLEEVE RIGHT REAR HUB REPLACED .NOISE RETURNED!!!!!CAR TAKEN BACK "THIRD TIME" CAR KEPT OVERNITE TECH DID NOT HEAR NOISE AGAIN SERVICE MANAGER RODE WITH ME DID NOT HEAR NOISE WAS TOLD TO BRING IT BACK IF NOISE OCCURS .NOISE HAS OCCURRED NOT FEELING "SAFE"DRIVING THIS CAR TAKING CAR BACK NOISE OCCURS TO OFTEN!!!FRIENDS AND FAMILY HEARS IT ALSO THEY SAY IT SOUNDS LIKE "DOOR" WITH HINGES LOOSE. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 CHEVROLET EQUINOX. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM FAILED AS THE CONTACT ROTATED THE TIRES. THE SYSTEM FAILED TO NOTIFY OF ANY PRESSURE ISSUES WITH THE TIRES. THE DEALER ADVISED THE CONTACT THAT THE TIRES NEEDED TO BE ROTATED AGAIN TO CORRECT THE TIRE MONITORING FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 7,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 28,000.
SIDEWALL DAMAGE TO TIRE. PURCHASED 03/12 AND THE VEHICLE HAS 1200 MILES ON IT. NO WRECKS OR ACCIDENTS IN CAR. *JS
I PURCHASED THE CAR IN APRIL OF 2012 AND STARTED EXPERIENCING ISSUES WITH THE VEHICLE WITHIN THE FIRST 10,000 MILES. THE CAR WOULD STALL AND SHUT OFF WHILE IN MOTION EITHER AFTER A SHORT IDLE WHILE AT A STOP SIGN OR RED LIGHT, OR EVEN WHILE PARKING BOTH IN DRIVE AND REVERSE. THE CAR WILL SHAKE AGGRESSIVELY WHILE IN MOTION AND LURCH FORWARD BOTH WHILE STATIONARY AND IN MOTION. THE TIRE PRESSURE COULD NEVER STAY BALANCED AND WOULD CONSTANTLY INFORM ME OF LEAKING EVEN AFTER REPLACING THE TIRE MULTIPLE TIMES. THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS RANDOMLY SHUT OFF WHILE IN MOTION DURING STORMS LEAVING ME COMPLETELY BLIND. THE DEALER INFORMED ME THAT THERE WAS A RECALL FOR THE 2013 EQUINOX WINDSHIELD WIPERS BUT WOULD NOT EXTEND THE RECALL TO MY 2012 EQUINOX WITH THE SAME ISSUE. THE CAR CONSUMES OIL AT A FASTER THAN NORMAL RATE AND HAS REQUIRED FREQUENT OIL CHANGES AND FILTER AND HAS NEVER DISPLAYED AN ENGINE OR OIL LIGHT TO INFORM ME OF THE ISSUES. THE CAR SHUTS OFF WHILE IN MOTION AND STATIONARY QUITE FREQUENTLY. THE CAR STRUGGLED TO START ONE DAY AND AFTER MY THIRD ATTEMPT FINALLY TURNED OVER BUT ONLY AT HALF POWER AND WHILE ATTEMPTING TO DRIVE BACK HOME, THE ENGINE COLLAPSED AND QUIT ON ME. I HAD THE CAR TOWED AND UPON INSPECTION BY A CHEVROLET DEALER AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE ENGINE HAD COMPLETELY FAILED AND THERE WAS METAL PIECES IN THE OIL. THE CAR IS NOT WORKING CURRENTLY AS IT HASN'T BEEN FOR MOST OF IT'S LIFE AS I CONTINUE TO MAKE PAYMENTS ON AN OVERPRICED PIECE OF METAL THAT CAN'T SAFELY TRANSPORT MY FAMILY.
