WHILE DRIVING ON THE ROAD AT 40 MPH AND MAKING A QUICK TURN, MY STEERING WHEEL LOCKED AND FROZE FOR A MINUTE IN A 3 WAY INTERSECTION. STEERING WHEEL WILL NOT TURN AND AFTER A MINUTE IT RESET AGAIN. THEN CONTINUING DRIVING PRESSING THE BRAKES WITH LOCK THE STEERING WHEEL AND FELT FUNNY. TOOK IT IMMEDIATELY TO THE DEALER TO ADDRESS SITUATION. PRETTY SCARY SITUATION HERE AND A SAFETY CONCERN FOR SURE. WITH ONLY 25K MILES WITH 3 MAYOR ISSUES POSTED HERE, I'M GETTING RID OF THIS VEHICLE AND TAKE A LOSS....VERY VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH GM BUT BEFORE THAT I WILL WRITE A BIG LETTER TO GM CEO ABOUT THE SAFETY OF THIS VEHICLE. *TR
I PULLED INTO MY DRIVEWAY AND PUT THE CAR IN PARK. I NOTICED A SMALL PUFF OF WHITE SMOKE FROM THE HOOD IN ONE SPECIFIC PLACE. PRIOR TO THIS, THERE WAS NOT A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT, THERE WAS NOT A MESSGAE WARNING OF REDUCED ENGINE POWER. THE CAR WAS INSPECTED AT A CERTIFIED GM DEALERSHIP ON 4/16/2014. NOTHING WAS NOTED ON THE DIAGNOSTIC FORM TO FIX OR REPLACE. IT WAS COMPLETED AT THE DEARLERSHIP THAT WE PURCHASED THE CAR AT. I QUICKLY GOT OUT OF MY CAR AND BEGIN TO GET MY THREE YEAR OLD OUT OF HIS CARSEAT. I LOOKED AT THE HOOD AND THERE WAS SO MUCH BLACK SMOKE POURING OUT OF THE HOOD I COULD NOT SEE OUR SHED OR ANYTHING IN FRONT OF ME. I YELLED TO THE OTHER TWO CHILDREN (BOTH 6), TO GET OUT OF THEIR CARSEATS AND RUN INTO THE WOODS. I UNBUCKLED ONE CHILD AND THE OTHER CHILD SLIPPED OUT OF HER BUCKLE. THEY RAN TO A SAFE SPOT. I RAN INTO THE HOUSE CALLED 911 AND GOT OUR FIRE EXTINGUISHER. CAME OUTSUDE AND THERE WAS BLACK SMOKE FILLING THE SKY AND POURING OUT OF THE HOOD IN NUMEROUS PLACES. I USED THE FIRE EXTINGUISHER WHICH DID NOT HELP. I GOT THE GARDEN HOSE AND TRIED TO USE THAT, BUT WAS GETTING TOO DANGEROUS. SO I WAITED FOR THE FIRE DEPARTMENT TO ARRIVE. AT THIS TIME THERE WAS FLAMES COMING FROM THE BOTTOM AND TOP OF THE CAR AND THE CAR WAS MAKING LOUD CRACKING AND EXPLODING NOISES. THERE WAS SO MUCH SMOKE I COULD NOT SEE THE HOUSE WHICH WAS CLOSE BY. THE WINDOWS EXPLODED AND THE PASSANGER AIRBAG WENT OFF. THE THREE CHILDREN COUNTINUED TO BE 500 FEET INTO THE WOODS AND I FRANTICALLY WAS RUNNING AROUND (37 WEEK PREGNANT).THE SHED CAUGHT ON FIRE. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT ARRIVED AND EXTINGUISHED THE FIRE. THE TWO FRONT TIRES WERE COMPLETLY MELTED AND RUINED OUR DRIVEWAY. *JS
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 CHEVROLET EQUINOX. WHILE DRIVING UP AN INCLINE, THE VEHICLE SHOOK SEVERELY AT APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH. THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE RECURRED INTERMITTENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 52,000.
I HAVE TWO 2013 CHEVROLET EQUINOX LT AND BOTH HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM WITH THE RADIO AND CENTER A/C CONSOLE/HEATER/DEFROSTER. IF A USB DEVICE IS PLUGGED INTO THE RECEPTACLE IN THE CENTER CONSOLE AT TIMES THE RADIO AND CONSOLE STOP WORKING. THIS AFFECTS THE SAFETY OF THE VEHICLE BY DISABLING THE DEFROSTER CONTROL ALLOWING THE WINDOWS TO ICE UP (ESPECIALLY IN MICHIGAN). I HAVE ASKED THE DEALER AS TO WHY IT HAPPENS AND THEY HAD NO ANSWER. THE SYSTEM HAS ALWAYS REBOOTED FINE AFTER SHUTTING THE VEHICLE OFF FOR 5-10 MINUTES. AGAIN THIS HAS ONLY HAPPENED WHEN A USB DEVICE IS PLUGGED IN. IT IS MY ASSUMPTION THAT THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE BOOTING OF THE CENTER CONSOLE THEREFORE NOT ALLOWING THE DEVICES TO WORK. I HAVE SEARCHED THE INTERNET AND THERE ARE MANY COMPLAINTS FOR THE SAME ITEM. *TR
WHILE APPROACHING A TRAFFIC SIGNAL THE ENGINE WENT TO A REDUCED POWER MODE (IDLE)....I HAD NO CONTROL OF THE CAR...COULD NOT MOVE....COULD NOT EVEN MOVE TO SIDE OF ROAD...BLOCKING TRAFFIC....CALLED ONSTAR CHEVY EMERG ROAD ASSIST...WHILE MAKING ARRANGEMENT FOR TOW HE ASKED FOR MILEAGE...I HAD TO TURN OFF THE ENGINE TO GET RID OF THE SCREEN WHICH SAID "REDUCED ENGINE POWER"....GAVEHIM THE MILEAGE...WHEN RESTARTING THE ENGINE THE ENGINE NOW IDLED NORMAL AND WHEN PU IN DRIVE , I COULD NOW MOVE THE CAR....CANCELED THE SERVICE...TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALER NEXT AM...THEY DIAGNOSED THE TROUBLE TO BE A "BINDING THROTTLE BODY" IT WAS REPLACED...I AM APPREHENSIVE DRIVING THE CAR , ESPECIALLY ON I95 WITH TRUCKS AND CARS TRAVELING 70/80 MPH I COULD GET KILLED....... *TR
I HAVE HAD MY CHEVY EQUINOX FOR A YEAR NOW AND I HAVE BEEN THE ONLY OWNER OF SAID VEHICLE. WHEN DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD DOES NOT MATTER THE SPEED THE COLLISION WARNING LIGHT WILL COME ON AND THE CAR DECIDES TO SLOW DOWN OR COME TO A STOP. I HAVE CHECKED AROUND THE CAR WHEN IT HAPPENS TO ENSURE NOTHING IS STUCK AROUND SENSORS HOWEVER NOTHING. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO THREE DIFFERENT DEALERS AND I AM TOLD THE SOMETHING "THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE CAR AND BRING IT IN WHEN IT HAPPENS AGAIN AND THAT THE VEHICLE IS NOT SUPPOSE TO STOP", THAT IS WHY I BROUGHT IT IN. I HAVE ALSO BEEN TOLD THERE ARE NO RECALLS. THEN THERE IS THE OTHER FACTOR THAT THE RADIO UPDATES OR SHUTS DOWN WHEN IT FEELS IT HAS WORKED TO HARD . I AM USUALLY IN MY VEHICLE FOR ABOUT 25- 30 MINS BOTH WAYS. THEN THERE IS THE TIRE PRESSURE GAUGE THAT THING WILL TELL SAY THE TIRES ARE ONE PRESSURE WHEN THEY ARE NOT I HAVE USED A TIRE GAUGE ELECTRIC AND MANUAL, THEY READ FINE BUT THE VEHICLE WILL COME UP WITH THE TIRES BEING OFF WHERE HALF THE VEHICLE IS HIGHER THAN THE OTHER OR ALL FOUR ARE OFF NEVERTHELESS ALL HAVE BEEN CHECKED AND VERIFIED BY A GAUGE. *TR
THIS IS AN OLD CHEVROLET EQUINOX RECALL THAT IS FROM THE 2010 MODEL AND IS HAPPENING TO MY 2013 AS WELL. THE RADIO CONTROLS AND A/C-DEFROST CONTROL'S ARE NOT WORKING AT ALL. "FAILING TO COMPLY WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF FEDERAL MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY STANDARD NO. 103, "WINDSHIELD DEFROSTING AND DEFOGGING SYSTEMS AND WITH FEDERAL MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY STANDARD NO. 101, CONTROLS AND DISPLAYS" CHEVROLET IS TELLING ME THEY WILL NOT FIX IT BECAUSE THERE IS NO RECALL. I PURCHASED MY 2013 CHEVY EQUINOX NEW. WITHIN MONTHS THE RADIO TURNED OFF WHILE I WAS DRIVING, THE DISPLAY SCREEN WENT BLACK, AND THEN CAME BACK ON TO THE CHEVY LINK DISPLAY. THIS WOULD HAPPEN WHETHER OR NOT THE RADIO WAS ON. THE DEALERSHIP WHERE I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE REPLACED THE CENTER STACK; NOT ONCE, BUT TWICE. AS A NOTE, I WAS TOLD THAT OTHER DRIVERS WITH THIS ISSUE REPORTED THE CAR TURNING ITSELF OFF WHEN THE SCREEN WENT BLACK. I HAVE ALSO PAID $150 FOR 'SOFTWARE UPDATES' WHEN THE CAR SEEMED TO 'LOSE ITS SETTINGS' AFTER IT WAS OUT OF WARRANTY. SIX YEARS LATER THE ISSUE PERSISTS, INCLUDING LOSS OF BLUETOOTH CAPABILITY FOR SEVERAL DAYS, AND THE CLOCK ALWAYS RUNS 2 MINUTES SLOW. I CAN RESET THE TIME, BUT EACH TIME THE CAR IS RESTARTED, THE TIME IS INCORRECT. THE CAR HAS ALSO EXPERIENCED LOSS OF 'BLINKER SOUND' WHEN THE TURN SIGNAL IS ON. THE SIGNAL WORKS, THE LIGHT IS WORKING ON THE DASH, BUT THERE IS NO SOUND.
I WAS MAKING A RIGHT HAND TURN (GOING MAYBE 5 MPH) WHEN REAR ENDED BY A 1998 CHEVY LUMINA. HER HOOD AND FRONT WAS ALL DAMAGED AND NONE OF MY AIR BAGS DEPLOYED (OPENED)!! . I HIT MY HEAD ON STEERING WHEEL AND EAR STARTED BLEEDING. ( IN A DAZE). MANY BRUISES AND HURT BACK AND NECK. *TR
I WAS HIT BY A CAR PULLING OUT OF A GAS STATION. HIT PRETTY HARD SIDE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. *TR
MARCH 2013 RADIO CONTROL WENT OFF/ RADIO DISPLAY SCREEN FROZE FOR FEW HOURS. I WAS UNABLE TO TURN ON/OFF RADIO AND STAYED ON THE SAME VOLUME. TURNED OFF THE CAR TO RESET AND IT DID NOT GO AWAY. TAKING IT TO THE DEALER FOR FOLLOW UP. STABILITY CONTROL FEATURE GOES ON FOR NO REASON WHEN PRESSING BRAKES THEY MAKE A LOUD SQUEAKY NOISE. *TR
DRIVING ON 5 LANE HIGHWAY AT 60MPH CAR SHUT OFF FOR NO REASON AND WENT DEAD. CARS AND TRUCKS ON BOTH SIDE OF ME AND HAD TO TRY. AND GET ON LEFT SHOULDER WHICH I DID WITHOUT GETTING HIT. I TURNED OFF IGNITION AND TRIED TO RESTART THE CAR AND IT RESTARTED OK AND I CONTINUED ON . THIS SAME PROBLEM HAS HAPPENED TWICE SINCE I PURCHASED VEHICLE. RETURNED TO DEALER BOTH TIMES AND THEY CHECKED IT AND SAID NOTHING WRONG. I AM AFRAID IT COULD HAPPEN AGAIN WITH MY CHILDREN OR GRANDCHILDREN IN CAR AND MAYBE WOULDN'T BE SO LUCKY TO GET OFF ROAD WITHOUT BEING HIT. WHERE DO I GO FROM HERE? THANK YOU *TR
The infotainment screen goes blank. I can hear the radio but nothing is on the screen so I can not use any buttons. This also affects the backup camera, being able to see that area to check to make sure nothing is behind the vehicle. The dealership can not duplicate the issue as this happens randomly, mainly when there is a lot of rain/wetness. I have been dealing with this for exactly 10 years now, January 2014-2024. I have all service papers from taking it in and not once did they offer to check other areas to see if something else could be causing this issue. I took it again, after contacting Chevrolet, for the umpteenth time, and paid for diagnostics. The dealership now says it supposedly is the atenna, that water is getting in and causing the issue.

MY WIFE WAS DRIVING MY 2013 CHEVY EQUINOX BACK TO PENNSYLVANIA AND SHE HAD A BLOW OUT ON INTERSTATE 80 IN NEW JERSEY. I HAD TO PAY $165.00 TO HAVE MY TRUCK TOWED OFF THE HIGH WAY. SHE PUT THE DONUT ON AND CONTINUED DRIVING TO PENNSYLVANIA. SHE GOT THE TIRE REPLACED ANOTHER $205.00. THE GUY AT THE TIRE PLACE GAVE HER THE TIRE BACK AND SUGGESTED WE FILE A COMPLAINT BECAUSE HE DIDN'T UNDERSTAND HOW IT HAPPENED. THE SIDE WALL HAD A BIG HOLE IN IT. *TR
I WAS TRAVELING IN MODERATE TRAFFIC A SAFE DISTANT BEHIND OTHER TRAFFIC WHEN THE RED LIGHT FOR COLLISION AVOIDANCE ON THE DASH CAME ON AND THE VEHICLE AUTOMATICALLY BRAKE. THIS HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES SINCE WHEN THERE WAS NO TRAFFIC IN FRONT OR ALONG SIDE OF MY VEHICLE. I ADVISED MY DEALER SERVICE TECHNICIAN ABOUT THE INCIDENTS, BUT RECEIVED NO EXPLANATION OF WHY IT WAS OCCURRING. THESE 3 OR 4 INCIDENTS HAVE OCCURRED DURING THE PERIOD OF DRIVING THE VEHICLE 12,000 MILES. *TR
HIT A DEER WITH FRONT END OF VEHICLE CAUSING APPROXIMATELY $6,000 IN DAMAGES. AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY CAUSING CONCUSSION RECEIVED BY DRIVER. DRIVER IS STILL EXPERIENCING MEDICAL PROBLEMS DUE TO THIS ACCIDENT. *TR

THE CONTACT STATED THAT UPON STARTING THE IGNITION, THE LOW TIRE PRESSURE WARNING LAMP WAS ILLUMINATED PERTAINING. THE CONTACT INFLATED THE FOUR TIRES TO THE CORRECT TIRE PRESSURE DAILY AS A RESULT OF THE DEFECTIVE TIRES. THE TIRES HAD NOT BEEN REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE PROBLEM. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 18,500.
BRAKES SQUEAL REALLY BAD WHEN BACKING UP BUT DEALERSHIP SAYS THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE BRAKES. WATER SEEMS TO BE LEAKING INTO THE CAR ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE. *TR
THE LIGHTS IN THE INTERIOR OF MY CAR GO OUT INTERMITTENTLY. I HAVE BEEN DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY GOING 70MPH AND WITHOUT WARNING THE CAR JUST DIED ON ME, I HAD TO HAVE SOMEONE PUSH ME OFF THE HIGHWAY BECAUSE THE CAR WOULD NOT START. I WAITED ABOUT 10 MINS AND IT STARTED UP AGAIN. THE COLLISION SENOR GOES OFF WHEN THERE IS NOTHING AROUND THE CAR AND BOGGS DOWN THE CAR WHILE DRIVING. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO 2 DIFFERENT SHOPS AND THEY CAN NOT GET THE PROBLEM TO DUPLICATE. THEY HAVE HAD MY CAR SINCE BEFORE THANKSGIVING AND GAVE IT BACK TO ME THE WEEK OF CHRISTIMAS. I DROVE IT AND HAD NO PROBLEMS UNTIL THAT FRIDAY ON MY WAY HOME FROM WORK CROSSING OVER A BUSY INTERSECTION THE COLLISION ALERT STARTED RINGING AND THE SENOR IS OFF AND THE CAR DIED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD. I WAS ABLE TO GET IT STARTED RIGHT AWAY AND GET OUT OF THE INTERSECTION. I TOOK IT BACK TO THE SHOP AND THEY STILL CAN'T GET THE PROBLEM RESOLVED. I SAY THE GM OBVIOUSLY HAS ELECTRICAL ISSUES WITH THEIR CARS, BECAUSE READING OTHERS COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE SAME ISSUES. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE! *TR

THE VEHICLE PROCEEDED TO DECELERATE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS. THE TECHNICIAN WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE TECHNICIAN REDUCED THE SENSITIVITY OF THE COLLISION SENSOR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 1831.
ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS THE FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE SYSTEM HAS ENGAGED FOR NO EXPLICABLE REASON. WHEN THIS OCCURS THE BRAKES ARE AUTOMATICALLY APPLIED, NOT JAMMED ON, BUT IT DOES SLOW THE VEHICLE DOWN AND THE RED LIGHT STARTS FLASHING AND THE WARNING SENSOR GOES OFF, ETC IT CAN BE RATHER UNNERVING. THE REAR VIEW MIRRORS WHICH FACE DOWNWARD WHEN BACKING TO BE USED IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE REAR VIEW CAMERA DON'T ALWAYS RETURN TO PREVIOUS PRESET POSITION. *TR
2013 EQUINOX LT WAS STRUCK ON PASSENGER SIDE BY A 2012 HYUNDAI SONATA WHILE DOING UNDER 10 MPH. THE SPEED LIMIT WAS 35 MPH FOR THE SONATA. THE FORCE OF THE IMPACT CAUSED THE EQUINOX TO ROLL OVER ONTO ITS SIDE AND ONLY THE SIDE AIRBAGS TO DEPLOY. EQUINOX RECEIVED DAMAGE TO ALL AREAS OF THE VEHICLE EXCEPT PASSENGER SIDE FENDER AND FRONT END.

CONSUMER STATED WHEN SHE PRESSED THE ACCELERATOR HER CAR REVERSED WHILE IT WAS STILL IN DRIVE. *LN THE CONSUMER STATED SHE IMMEDIATELY APPLIED THE BRAKE, ONCE THE VEHICLE WENT INTO REVERSE. THE CONSUMER STATED IT FELT AS THOUGH,THE VEHICLE WAS IN NEUTRAL ON A HILL. SHE MANAGED TO PUT THE VEHICLE IN PARK, THEN IN DRIVE AGAIN, AND ONCE SHE PRESSED THE ACCELERATOR, THE VEHICLE WENT FORWARD, WITHOUT INCIDENT. ALSO, WITHIN THE LAST SIX MONTHS, THE CONSUMER EXPERIENCED ELECTRICAL/COMPUTER RELATED PROBLEMS.
THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS IN. I HAD ONSTAR RUN A VEHICLE DIAGNOSTIC AND THE CODE BACK AS A P00013. THEN I HAD REILLY'S AUTO PART RUN A DIAGNOSTIC AND THEY CAME BACK WITH CODES P00013 AND P00011 FOR THE CAMSHAFT SENSORS. I'VE TALKED TO OTHERS THAT OWN OR HAVE OWNED THIS VEHICLE AND THEY ALL HAVE EXPERIENCED THIS PROBLEM. I HAVE GAS FUMES BACKING UP INTO THE CAR WHEN I TURN THE AIR THAT IS DANGEROUS CHOKING AND GIVES ME A HEADACHE. I HAVE TO RUN THE AC SYSTEM OFF AS SOON AS THE FUMES START. IT'S SUMMER AND HIT SO I HAVE TO RIDE WITH THE WIDOWS DOWN BUT THAT'S NOT HELPING. BUT THAT'S TRULY BESIDES THE POINT. HAS BACKING UP IN THE VEHICLE IS DANGEROUS AND MANY EQUINOX OWNERS ARE HAVING PROBLEMS OR CHEVY OWNERS IN GENERAL ARE HAVE CONTINUED PROBLEMS WITH THIS. WHY IS THERE NOT A REPAIR FOR THIS ISSUE? I LOVE MY CHEVY BUT HATE THIS ISSUE. I HAVE ANOTHER MECHANIC COMING BY TODAY TO RUN A MORE THOROUGH COMPUTER DIAGNOSTIC THAT SAID THIS MAYBE A 1200 TO 1300 FIX BECAUSE IN HIS EXPERIENCE REPLACING THE CAMSHAFTS HAVEN'T STOPPED THE VEHICLE FROM HAVING AN ISSUE FROM OTHER VEHICLES HE HAVE WORKED WITH IN THE PASS. GAS FUMES ARE RELEASED IN THE CAR AS SOON AS THE AC IS TURNED ON BUT THEY START AS SOON AS THE CAR IS STARTED.

IT HAPPENS TO HER ALL THE TIME SINCE SHE IS THE PRIMARY DRIVER. SHE HAS HAD THIS HAPPEN TO HER OVER 20 TIMES IN THE PAST 1.5 YRS. FORWARD COLLISION WARNING WILL GO OFF WITH NO VEHICLE IN FRONT OF HER AND THEN THE BRAKES WILL MOMENTARILY ENGAGE. I HAVE DROVE THE VEHICLE AND HAD THIS HAPPEN TWICE. I HAVE BEEN IN THE VEHICLE AS A PASSENGER ON (3) OCCASSIONS WHEN THIS HAPPENED. WE HAVE HAD THIS SUV FOR 18MONTHS AND SHE HAS TAKEN IT TO (2) DEALERSHIPS. BOTH STATED THEY HAVE NO IDEA WHAT IS CAUSING THIS AND TOLD US TO DE-ACTIVATE THE SYSTEM. WHY HAVE THIS SAFETY FEATURE AND YOU ARE TOLD TO TURN IT OFF BY DEALERSHIP BECAUSE THEY HAVE NO IDEA ON HOW TO FIX IT?? I DONT EVEN KNOW IF THEY HAVE CONTACTED CHEVROLET TO INQUIRE. DEALERSHIPS WE UTILIZED WERE JOHN JONES FROM CORYDON, IN AND COYLE CHEVROLET LOCATED IN CLARKSVILLE, IN. THIS IS A SAFETY FEATURE BUT HAS BECOME A SAFETY ISSUE. THE EXTREME SLOPE OF THE WINDSHIELD AND EXTENSIVE DASHBOARD SURFACE TOP, COMBINED WITH MY SLOPED DRIVEWAY PRODUCES A SEVERE GLARE THAT REDUCES VISIBILITY TO THE POINT WHERE I AM FORCED TO INCH INTO MY GARAGE. THE GREY DASHBOARD BECOMES THE DOMINATE VISIBLE ELEMENT, REFLECTED ONTO THE WINDSHIELD IN A MANNER SIMILAR TO A HEADS UP DISPLAY. DAYLIGHT IS THE MOST CRITICAL TIMEFRAME. ADDING A BLACK CARPET DASHBOARD COVER REDUCED BUT DID NOT ELIMINATE THE PROBLEM. I WOULD EXPECT TALLER DRIVERS WOULD HAVE AN EVEN GREATER PROBLEM. DRIVING IN NORMAL LIGHTING CONDITIONS DOES NOT APPEAR TO BE AN ISSUE, HOWEVER THE TRANSITION INTO A LOW LEVEL LIGHTED AREA IS A REAL SAFETY CONCERN. THE VEHICLE HAS AUTOMATIC HEADLIGHTS, TURNING THEM ON OR OFF DID NOT HELP. *TR

THE CAR DOES NOT HAVE A BACK UP CAMERA TO MAKE UP FOR THE BAD BLIND SPOTS ON THE VEHICLE. THE DOUBLE VISION MIRRORS ON SIDE MIRRORS DO NOT HELP WHEN BACKING UP. EVEN IF YOU LOOK ALL THE WAY OUT THE REAR WINDOW, YOUR VISION IS BLOCKED BY THE REAR WINDOW WIPER. I HAVE HAD NEAR ACCIDENTS SEVERAL TIMES. I COMPLAINED TO THE SALES PERSON AND DEALERSHIP I BOUGHT IT FROM WITH NO HELP. THEY SAID THAT CHEVY DOES NOT INSTALL CAMERAS TO VEHICLES AFTER IT IS LEASED SO I WOULD HAVE TO DO IT AT MY OWN EXPENSE. WHEN I INITIALLY COMPLAINED, THE SALES PERSON SAID I HAD TO GET USED TO DRIVING IT. AFTER A YEAR, I STILL HAD THE SAME PROBLEM. I COMPLAINED TO CHEVROLET USA AND THEY SAID IT WAS A PROBLEM WITH THE DESIGN AND NOT A PART SO THEY COULD NOT DO ANYTHING. I DID EXPLAIN THAT THE WHEN I BACK UP, I DO SO BLINDLY BECAUSE I CAN'T SEE. THEY CLEANED AND DISINFECTED AC SYSTEM. INSTALLED A BLOWER COMPRESSOR TO DRY WATER THAT SITS FROM AC.ON...HUM... THEY TOLD ME SINCE I LIVE IN THE STATE OF TEXAS, I WILL HAVE THIS PROBLEM...HUM... JUST BE AWARE THIS VEHICLE WILL NOT SURVIVE ON A TROPIC CLIMATE BECAUSE OF THE MOLD .... LAME EXCUSED FROM DEALER. AFTER DRIVING THE 2013 EQUINOX OFF THE DEALER LOT WITH 5 MILES ON THE SPEEDOMETER, THE RADIO SCREEN BEGAN TO SCRAMBLE. A FEW DAYS LATER, THE BACKUP SCREEN DID NOT WORK, AND GOES BLANK, THE RADIO SCREEN BEGINS TO FLICKER, SCRAMBLES, AND BLANKS OUT. ON MAY 10 RETURNED TO DEALER AND THEY REPLACED THE RADIO SCREEN. ON THE WAY HOME THE RADIO SCREEN FLICKERED. THE FOLLOWING DAY THE BACKUP CAMERA DID NOT WORK. CONTACTED THE GENERAL MANAGER ON MAY 11 AND WAS TOLD THEY WOULD GET BACK WITH US THE FOLLOWING MONDAY. WE CALLED MAY 16TH AND THE GM GAVE A LAME EXCUSE, ON MAY 17 WE ARE RETURNING TO THE DEALER TO GET THE PROBLEM RESOLVED. WE LIVE 70 MILES FROM THE DEALER. I WAS DRIVING NORTH BEHIND A PICKUP TRUCK ,HE WAS STOPPED AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT. I APPLIED MY BRAKES AND IT APPEARED AS IF IT MADE ME GO FASTER INSTEAD OF STOPPING..
