MY VEHICLE NOW HAS AN ENGINE PROBLEM DUE TO MY OIL BURNING REALLY FAST. I HAVE TAKEN IT UP TO AN AUTO REPAIR SHOP BECAUSE I HAVE BEEN NOTICING A WEIRD TICKING SOUND IN MY ENGINE. THEY TOLD ME ITS BECAUSE MY OIL WAS VERY VERY LOW AND IT HAS ALREADY STARTED TO AFFECT MY ENGINE. I ONLY DRIVE TO WORK AND BACK WITH ME CAR MOSTLY ON MAIN PAVED ROADS AND SOMETIMES ON THE HIGHWAY. I NOTICED THE SOUND MORE WHEN I WAS IN TOWN MAINTAINING MY SPEED AT 25 MPH THE TICKING SOUND WAS VERY LOUD. IT WOULD ALSO SOUND LOUD IF I WAS TURNING RIGHT AND/OR LEFT. I WOULD ONLY NOTICE THE TICKING SOUND WHEN THE CAR WAS IN MOTION. WHEN IT IS STATIONARY I WOULD NOT HEAR THE TICKING SOUND. I AM VERY SCARED TO CONTINUE DRIVING MY CAR BECAUSE I HAVE A 3 YEAR OLD THAT GOES EVERYWHERE WITH ME AND I DON'T WANT TO PUT HER IN ANY HARM.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 CHEVROLET EQUINOX. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT AN UNDISCLOSED SPEED, THE VEHICLE INADVERTENTLY SHUT-OFF WHILE SHIFTING GEARS. THERE WAS NO WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE LOCAL DEALER - RHINELANDER GMC (1935 NORTH STEVENS ST, RHINELANDER, WI 54501) TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS NOTIFIED OF THAT ENGINE WAS CONSUMING AN EXCESSIVE AMOUNT OF ENGINE OIL. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED BY THE OWNER. THE A MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE HOWEVER, NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE WAS PROVIDED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 162,800.
ON MORE THAN ONE OCCASION MY EQUINOX TURNED OFF WHILE I WAS DRIVING. THE FIRST TIME IT HAPPENED I WAS DRIVING HOME (ON THE STREETS), AND WHEN I SLOWED DOWN TO TURN AND BEGAN TO STEP ON THE ACCELERATOR THE SUV TURNED OFF. IN THE MIDDLE OF THE STREET. ANOTHER TIME IT HAPPENED ON THE FREEWAY WHILE I WAS DRIVING THROUGH SLOW TRAFFIC. ONCE AGAIN, AFTER HAVING TO SLOW DOWN, WHEN I STEPPED ON THE ACCELERATOR THE SUV TURNED OFF. ON THE FREEWAY!!! I COULD'VE BEEN KILLED AND I WOULDN'T HAVE BEEN AT FAULT FOR IT. THIS IS A DEADLY ISSUE WITH THIS SUV. I'VE HAD THIS EQUINOX SINCE THE BEGINNING OF 2019 AND I KEEP UP WITH THE MAINTENANCE ON IT. I SHOULD NOT BE HAVING LIFE THREATENING ISSUES WITH THIS SUV
EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION AND OIL LEVEL LOW WARNING LIGHT DOES NOT FUNCTION. ENGINE WILL TICK AND EVENTUALLY STALL OUT. MUST ADD OIL CONSTANTLY OR CHANGE THE OIL MORE FREQUENTLY THAN RECOMMENDED. NO RECALL HAS ISSUED AND DEALER WANTS THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS TO FIX. BASICALLY STUCK WITH A VEHICLE THAT YOU MUST ADD OIL TO EVERY TIME YOU FILL UP WITH GAS.
SEVERE OIL CONSUMPTION I'M ADDING OIL CONSTANTLY
I NOTICED A STRONG EXHAUST SMELL INSIDE THE CABIN OF MY VEHICLE. IT SEEMS TO BE STRONGER WHEN SITTING PARKED (I.E. AT THE GROCERY STORE OR AT A LONG STOP LIGHT). SERVICE SHOPS FOUND A HOLE IN EXHAUST RESONATOR AND A CRACK IN THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD WHICH 2 AUTO SERVICE SHOPS INDICATE ARE "EXTREMELY COMMON IN 2013 CHEVY EQUINOX". ADDITIONALLY, IT APPEARS 2011 MODELS HAD A RECALL ON THE EXHAUST SYSTEM AS WELL.
RECENTLY REALIZED OVER THE LAST COUPLE MONTHS I'VE HAD TO CHANGE AND/OR ADD MOTOR OIL TO MY ENGINE EVERY 1500 MILES WITH THE MOST RECENT ADDING OF 3 QTS OF OIL BEING TODAY AUG 25 2020 I'VE RESEARCHED AND FOUND THAT THERE IS AN ISSUE WITH THE DESIGN OF MY 2.4 ECOTEC ENGINE INVOLVING THE DESIGN OF THE PISTON RINGS I ALSO SAW THERE WAS A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT REGARDING THIS MATTER AND I WANT TO KNOW WHY A RECALL HASN'T BEEN ISSUED?? THAT IS NOT ACCEPTABLE AND IT'S DANGEROUS AS A FIRST RESPONDER I TAKE SAFETY VERY SERIOUSLY ESPECIALLY WHEN MY FAMILY IS IN THE CAR WITH ME WHAT IF MY ENGINE SUDDENLY SEIZED AND CAUSED US TO GET INTO A VEHICLE ACCIDENT THAT SERIOUSLY INJURED US, OTHERS OR WORSE I WILL BE CONTACTING MY DEALERSHIP TOMORROW TO SEE WHAT THE COURSE OF ACTION WILL BE AS I'M SURE THIS IS THE PROBLEM WITH MY CAR AND I WILL EXPECT THEM TO FIX THIS ISSUE AT NO COST TO ME ANY SUGGESTIONS FROM YOUR END WOULD BE APPRECIATED THANK YOU
2013 CHEVY EQUINOX, 2.4L 4. 128K MILES, MASSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION ISSUE. ONCE A WEEK, ENGINE LIFTERS CHATTER, AND OIL NEEDS TO BE ADDED. THIS TIME CAR DIED, AND GARAGE SAYS CALL THE DEALERSHIP, THEY DONT WANT TO TOUCH IT FOR UNDER $7K. IS THERE ANY ACTION I HAVE TO CORRECT THIS??
I BOUGHT MY 2013 CHEVY EQUINOX IN JULY OF 2019, ABOUT A MONTH AFTER BUYING IT MY HUSBAND CHECKED THE OIL AND THE OIL WASNT EVEN ON THE DIPSTICK. AFTER THAT WE KEPT AN EYE ON IT AND EVERY WEEK WE HAVE TO PUT AT LEAST A QUART OF OIL IN THE VEHICLE. WE HAVE BROUGHT IT TO OUR SHOP AND HAVE DETERMINED THAT THERE IS EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION AT THE 100,000 MILE MARK.
ENGINE IS BURNING EXCESSIVE AMOUNTS OF OIL, WITH IN A WEEK IT BURNED A MINIMUM OF A QUART OF OIL (I DROVE ABOUT 500 MILES). A WEEK PRIOR TO 8/3/2020 THE CAM SHAFT POSITIONING SENSOR FAILED DUE TO NO OIL SHOWING UP ON THE DIP STICK, VEHICLE WAS BOUGHT ON 7/13/2020 AND HAD AN OIL CHANGE AT 145,000 MILES.
ENGINE IS CONSUMING OIL AT AN ALARMING RATE AND WE HAVE TO ADD OIL FREQUENTLY (APPROXIMATELY EVERY 800-1000 MILES). THERE IS ALSO A FAILURE WITH THE OIL LIGHT, AS IT DOES NOT ILLUMINATE WHEN THE OIL IS LOW. WE JUST HAPPENED TO CHECK IT WHEN THERE WAS A SLIGHT TICKING SOUND. THERE IS AN APPARENT RECALL ON THIS VEHICLE, BUT IT ONLY COVERS VEHICLES WITHIN 7 YEAR 6 MONTHS OF IT BEING PUT INTO SERVICE OR 120,000 MILES. IT HAS 129,000 CURRENTLY. WE BOUGHT THIS VEHICLE USED AND WERE NOT NOTIFIED BY GM OF THE RECALL UNTIL IT WAS ALREADY PAST THE CUT-OFF DATE AND MILEAGE. THIS IS A TERRIBLE PROBLEM, AND THERE HAS BEEN MANY COMPLAINTS ACCORDING TO MY RESEARCH. I CALLED THE NUMBER ON THE RECALL CLAIM AND THEY SAID TO CONTACT A LOCAL DEALER. I CALLED THE DEALER AND THEY SAID TO CONTACT GM. I CALLED GM AND THEY SAID NOTHING COULD BE DONE. SO I'M NOW CONTACTING THE ATTORNEY LISTED ON THE RECALL TO SEE IF I CAN GET SOME HELP WITH SOME SORT OF EXTENSION. GM NEEDS TO DO BETTER.
MY MANIFOLD IS GETTING A HOLE IN IT AND I WAS TOLD THAT ONCE MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON, THE MANIFOLD WILL NEED TO BE REPLACED SINCE THERE IS AN OXYGEN SENSOR LOCATED IN THE MANIFOLD. IF I LET THE CAR IDLE IN THE DRIVEWAY, I CAN SMELL EXHAUST GOING INTO MY VEHICLE
I HAVE TAKEN MY CAR TO CERTIFIED MECHANICS AS WELL AS THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY CAN'T FIND AN ISSUE WITH THIS VEHICLE BECAUSE THE CENSORS ARE NOT GIVING THEM A DESCRIPTION OF WHAT IS GOING ON! THE CAR JERKS VERY BADLY WHEN I AM AT A STOP LIGHT OR STOP SIGN THEN IT CUTS OFF! THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS AND HAPPENS IN THE MIDDLE OF HIGHWAY AND IN TRAFFIC! I NEED HELP WITH WHAT IS WRONG WITH THIS VEHICLE. PLEASE HELP!
A YEAR AND HALF AGO I LOST ALL OF MY OIL AND IT BLEW OUT MY TIMING CHAIN. I WAS TOLD THAT I HAVE BAD PISTON RINGS AND THAT THE ECOTEC ENGINES WITH THAT YEAR WEAR OUT VERY FAST. I DID NOT HAVE THE MONEY TO GET THE PISTON RINGS REPLACED SO I TOLD THE MECHANIC TO JUST REPLACE EVERYTHING BUT THE PISTON RINGS. HE JUST SAID THAT I NEED TO WATCH THE OIL LEVEL AND THAT I COULD ADD SOME IF I STARTED TO BURN OIL AGAIN. ANOTHER YEAR WENT BY AND AS I WAS DRIVING ON A FREEWAY, I GOT AN ERROR MESSAGE ON MY DASHBOARD SAYING THE ENGINE WAS "POWERING DOWN" AND I STARTED LOOSING SPEED VERY FAST. I PULLED INTO A GAS STATION AND CHECKED MY OIL LEVEL AND SURE ENOUGH, I HAD VERY LITTLE OIL. SO I POURED SOME IN AND THAT SEEM TO BE OK. A COUPLE WEEKS LATER, MY EQUINOX STARTED TO SMOKE WHEN I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY. I PULLED TO THE SIDE AND POPPED THE HOOD TO SEE OIL SPILLING ONTO THE MANIFOLD. I LET THE CAR COOL DOWN AND ADDED SOME MORE OIL SO I COULD GET TO WORK. A CO-WORKER OF MINE HELPED ME INVESTIGATE AND NOTICED THAT THE TIMING CHAIN HAD ATE THROUGH THE GUARDING WHICH CAUSED THE OIL TO SPILL OUT OF THE TOP OF THE GUARDING.
MY CAR MADE AN AGGRESSIVE RIGHT TURN ON ITS OWN. BACK STORY: I STARTED UP MY CAR AND STARTED SLOWLY DRIVING STRAIGHT OUT OF A STREET PARKING SPOT. I NOTICED THE STEERING WAS SLIGHTLY RESISTING ME. I MADE A RIGHT TURN AND NOTICED THE CAR WAS PULLING SOME TO THE RIGHT (I ACTIVELY HAD TO COUNTER IT). ABOUT HALF WAY DOWN THE BLOCK MY CAR MADE AN AGGRESSIVE RIGHT TURN ON ITS OWN (THE STEERING WHEEL TURNED 90 DEGREES BEFORE I COULD FIGHT IT BACK AND COME TO A STOP FROM ~20MPH). WHILE STOPPED I TURNED THE STEERING WHEEL ALL THE WAY TO THE LEFT, ALL THE WAY TO THE RIGHT AND BACK TO CENTER. I GOT OUT OF THE CAR AND CHECKED ALL TIRES. THERE WAS NO FLATS OR ISSUES WITH THE TIRES, TIRE PRESSURE GAGES WERE READING NORMAL. I STARTED DRIVING AGAIN AND THE CAR WAS STILL FIGHTING ME. THINKING IT COULD BE THE BANKED ROAD (BUT NEVER HAS BEEN AN ISSUE BEFORE), I TURNED RIGHT ONTO A FLAT STREET. THE CAR STILL WAS TRYING TO PULL ME TO RIGHT ON A FLAT STREET FOR ABOUT 2 BLOCKS AND THEN IT EASED UP AND DROVE NORMALLY AGAIN. TWO DAYS LATER THE "SERVICE POWER STEERING" WARNING APPEARED FOR 30-60 SECONDS UPON STARTING MY CAR THEN DISAPPEARS ON ITS OWN. STEERING PROBLEMS HAS NEVER BEEN AN ISSUE BEFORE AND HAS NOT HAPPEN AGAIN IN THE PAST 4 DAYS WITH MINIMAL DRIVING. THE WARNING TO SERVICE POWER STEERING IS NOT CONSISTENT UPON STARTING MY CAR AND HAS NEVER APPEARED PRIOR TO THE CAR STEERING ON ITS OWN.
THE MAKE AND MODEL I OWN IS NOW UNDER A SPECIAL RECALL FOR OIL CONSUMPTION. I'VE TRIED TAKING IT TO THE DEALER (MICHAEL CHEVROLET OF FRESNO) AND THEY SAID THAT THE ISSUE WAS, 'NORMAL HONEY'. I THEN CALLED GMC WHERE I WAS GIVEN A SPECIALIST NAMED 'GENEVIEVE' WHO HASN'T RETURNED MY MULTIPLE CALLS FOR HELP ON GETTING THE PROBLEM FIXED. I HAVE TAKEN MY CAR TO A THIRD PARTY WHO HAS DOCUMENTED THEIR IS AN OIL CONSUMPTION ISSUE AND HAVE TAKEN THOSE RESULTS TO THE DEALER AND BAR. STILL GMC IS NOT FIXING THE ISSUE. MY CAR RUNS EXTREMELY LOW ON OIL EVERY 800-1000 MILES. PLEASE HELP!

THE 2.4L ECOTEC ENGINE IN CHEVY TERAIN AND EQUINOX FROM 2010-2013 HAS A KNOWN ISSUE WITH THE PISTON RINGS WHICH CAUSES EXTREME OIL CONSUMPTION WHICH DAMAGES THE REST OF THE ENGINE. INSTEAD OF ISSUING A NATIONWIDE RECALL OF THESE FAULTY ENGINES, THEY PUSHED IT OVER TO THE NHTSB TO ISSUE THE RECALL. THEY EXPECT OWNERS OF THESE VEHICLES TO PAY THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS IN REPAIRS FOR THEIR KNOWN FAULTY ENGINE. CHEVROLET/GM WAS SUED OVER THIS BY VEHICLE OWNERS TO GET REIMBURSED FOR THEIR EXPENSES AND EXTENDED THEIR WARRANTY TO 120,000 MILES, BUT VEHICLE OWNERS WEREN'T NOTIFIED. THEY HAVE NO PLANS OR WAY TO NOTIFY OWNERS WHO ARE NOT THE ORIGINAL OWNERS, USED CAR DEALERS, OR PEOPLE WHO PURCHASE THESE VEHICLES FROM PRIVATE SALE.
SO FIRST STARTED TO USE OIL MORE THAN IT SHOULD BETWEEN CHANGES BUT IT WOULD BE JUST 1 QUART LOW IT WOULD KNOCK. THAN TRANSFER CASE WENT OUT THAN A WHEEL BEARING WENT OUT. I LIKE MY CAR BUT IT'S STUFF I KEEP MAINTAINED BUT SEEMS LIKE EVERY TIME I TURN AROUND SOMETHING GOES WRONG. NOW WHEN YOU OPEN THE DOOR AN THE KEYS ARE IN MY HAND I HEAR A CLICKING NOISE LIKE THE COMPUTER IS ONE IN IT ALSO ONCE AN AWHILE YOU CAN SMELL GAS NOT ALWAYS. IT'S LIKE IT'S COSTING MONEY TO FIX IT ON STUFF THAT SHOULDN'T GO BAD IF YOU MAINTAIN IT. I TALKED TO FOUR OTHER PEOPLE WHO OWN EQUINOX AN DIFFERENT YEAR RANG FROM 2011 TO 2017 WITH SAME ISSUES. WHY IS IT WE THE PUBLIC HAVE TO FIX ISSUES WHEN YOU MAINTAIN THE CAR!! I DON'T WANT TO TRADE BUT IF IT GOES DOWN AGAIN IT'S GOING TO BE TRADE FOR A NON CHEVY CAR I HAVE HAD CHEVY SINCE I STARTED DRIVING 40 PLUS YEARS MY SECOND EQUINOX NEVER HAD ISSUES WITH THE FIRST ONE LIKE I HAVE THIS ONE . I CHANGED BATTER IN IT THINKING IT WOULD TAKE CARE OF THE CLICKING BUT IT DIDN'T I ALMOST DON'T WANT TO DRIVE IT TO MY DOCTORS APPOINTMENTS WHICH ARE QUIT OFTEN DUE TO WILL IT DIE ON ME AN LEAVE ME STRANDED ON THE ROAD

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO JOHN JONES AUTO GROUP CORYDON 1735 GARDNER LN NW, CORYDON, IN 47112, (812) 722-4146) WHERE AN OIL CONSUMPTION TEST WAS PERFORMED AND IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE VEHICLE USED 2 QUARTS OF OIL PER 1,000 MILES DRIVEN. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE ENGINE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND OPENED A CASE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 128,000. *LN*JB
MY ECO-TEC ENGINE BURNS OIL. I HAVE HAD THE ENGINE WORKED ON TWICE FOR THE SAME REPAIR RESULTING IN OVER $3,000 PAID OUT OF POCKET. I HAVE MY OIL CHANGED EVERY 3000 MILES OR LESS. I ALSO HAVE TO ADD 2-3 QUARTS OF OIL ON A WEEKLY BASIS. ADDITIONALLY, NOW MY VEHICLE IS EXPERIENCING A FUEL ISSUE WHERE I'M NOW BURNING FUEL.
I AM TRYING TO GET WORK DONE BY GM DEALERSHIP. I NEED A CRANKSHAFT REAR OIL SEAL AND IT IS LISTED UNDER BULLETIN 14882. I AM GETTING THE RUN AROUND THAT MY VIN # IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. *TR

THERE IS 143,500 MILES ON MY VEHICLE AND LESS MILES ON MY FRIEND'S. I HAVE PAPERWORK SHOWING OIL CHANGES EVERY 3,000 MILES SINCE NEW. THIS SHOULD NOT BE HAPPENING. *TR
I HAD MY OIL CHANGED AT CAR X , WAS TOLD THERE WERE METAL SHAVINGS IN MY OIL, I TOOK THIS VEHICLE TOO MAUER CHEV IN INVER GROVE HEIGHTS,MN , THEY SAID NO THERE WASNT, I SAID IT BURNS 1-2 QUARTS EVERY 1000 MILES, MILEAGE WAS AT 119,958, I ASKED ABOUT OIL CONSUMPTION, THEY DID NOT INFORM ME THIS VEHICLE WAS ON RECALL FOR OIL CONSUMPTION ! THEY SAID THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO IT WAS RUNNING FINE WITHOUT PERFORMING THE OIL CONSUMTION TEST , ON A RECALLED VEHICLE STILL UNDER 120,000 MILES AND UNDER THE 7 YEARS AND 6 MONTH RECAL BY 1 MONTH! HOW DO I PROCEDE ? AT 126,000 MILES THE CAM SHAFT SENSORS FAILED AND THE FLEX PIPE CRACKED BECAUSE OF THIS CONSUMPTION RECALL ! WHAT DO I DO AT THIS POINT
Gm motors sent a recall for 2013 chevy equinox due to bad pistons and excessive oil consumtion . Took to dealership to attempt to fix but they denied to. My car now stalls after a thousand miles in after oil change and it continues to do so while I'm driving. I'm concerned as for my own safety and the others that my car might suddenly die on the highway while traveling to work. I need help with this matter please.
MY EQUINOX STARTED KNOCKING AND ACTING STRANGE. CHECKED OIL 1000 MILES AFTER OIL CHANGE AND THERE WAS NO OIL AND NO INDICATOR LIGHT. PUT OIL IN THE EQUINOX AND IT STARTING ACTING NORMAL AGAIN. UNTIL A MONTH LATER AND IT STARTED ACTING STRANGE AGAIN. TOOK IT TO THE CHEVY DEALER WE PURCHASED IT FROM AND THEY SAID THE PISTONS NEED REPLACED BECAUSE OF LACK IN OIL AND THE TIMING CHAIN NEEDS REPLACED. I ASKED THEM ABOUT THE LAWSUITS REGARDING THIS ISSUE AND THEY ACTED LIKE THEY HAD NO IDEA WHAT I WAS TALKING ABOUT. ALWAYS DROVE A CHEVY BUT WILL NEVER DRIVE ONE AGAIN!!
I RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE IN THE MAIL ABOUT MY CAR AND OIL CONSUMPTION. I HAVE HAD TO REPLACED OIL IN MY CAR IN-BETWEEN OIL CHANGES BUT DIDN'T THINK ANYTHING OF IT UNTIL I RECEIVED THE NOTICE. I HAD TO BRING IT TO THE DEALER FOR AN OIL CONSUMPTION TEST. I DID THEN COVID HIT AND THEY CLOSED DOWN FOR SOME TIME. I RESTARTED THE OIL CONSUMPTION TEST AND WAS TOLD BY A MGR NAMED TOM THAT MY CAR WAS BURNING EXCESS OIL BUT HE WOULD NEED TO SPEAK TO HIS MGR, WHO WAS ON VACATION AT THIS TIME. I THEN CALLED HIM BACK A WEEK LATER AS I DID NOT HEAR BACK FROM HIM. TOM TOLD ME THAT THE OIL CONSUMPTION WAS NOT ENOUGH TO WARRANT THE CAR BEING FIXED. I WAS NOT SATISFIED WITH THIS ANSWER AS THEIR WAS A RECALL, I HAD AN OIL CONSUMPTION ISSUE AND DID WHAT I WAS SUPPOSED TO DO AND THEY SHOULD FIX MY CAR. I SENT TWO LETTERS PRIORITY MAIL TO THE MGR OF GENGRAS CHEVROLET IN EAST HARTFORD, CT. BOTH PRIORITY PACKAGES WERE RECEIVED AT THE DEALERSHIP BUT NO ONE HAS RESPONDED TO ME. I HAVE ATTACHED THE LETTER I SENT TO PAUL SMITH, MGR OF GENGRAS CHEVROLET FOR YOUR REVIEW. I JUST WANT MY CAR FIXED BUT I WILL FOLLOW THROUGH WITH LEGAL ACTION IF NECESSARY. THE REAR SEAT BELT ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE HAS STOPPED LATCHING. AFTER NOT USING IT FOR A LONG TIME IT WAS NECESSARY TO BUCKLE IN A CAR SEAT AND I WAS UNABLE TO LATCH IT IN. I HAVE LOOKED INSIDE AS BEST AS POSSIBLE AND THERE ISN'T ANYTHING RATTLING AROUND OR INSIDE BUT IT WILL NOT RECEIVE THE SHOULDER STRAP CLIP AND BUCKLE. I HAVE TRIED WHILE PARKED AND WHEN DRIVING.
BOUGHT THE CAR USED 8 MONTHS AGO WITH 55K MILES. I HAVE DRIVEN IT 20K MILES, AND IT BURNS OIL, WITH THE OIL LIGHT NOT BEING ILLUMINATED, YET THE COMPUTER TELLS ME I HAVE A HIGHER % OF OIL LIFE LEFT. TIMING CHAIN IS GOING OUT, I HAD TO REPLACE THE BATTERY, AND THE STABILITRAK SYSTEM TURNS OFF. WHEN STARTING THE VEHICLE EVERYTHING APPEARS FINE, BUT BETWEEN 0-20MPH WITH AWD ON THE BREAK SYSTEM SEEMS TO BE FAILING; THEN WHEN STABILITRAK IS TURNED OFF THE VEHICLE PERFORMS NORMAL. I FEEL VERY UNSAFE DRIVING MY CAR. MOST OF THESE ISSUES OCCURED WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION.

I BOUGHT MY EQUINOX IN 2018, THE WIPER PASSENGER SIDE STOPPED WORKING THEY STATED THE RECALL WAS DONE IN 2017 I DIDN'T OWN THE VECHILE AND 295.00 TO FIX IT IS WRONG. ITS ONLY BEEN 2 YEARS IT STOPPED WORKING THE FIRST MONTH I HAD IT THEY FIXED IT. NOW ITS NOT WORKING AT ALL PASSENGER SIDE. NO WARRANTIES OR ANYTHING ON THE VECHILE AT THIS TIME. I WAS DRIVING TO THE STORE WHEN IT STOPPED WORKING PRE COVID-19 HAD AN APPT HOWEVER HAD TO CANCEL SO TRIED TO GET TO TAKEN CARE OF WHICH IT SHOULDN'T COST ME.

I RECEIVED CONTACT ABOUT FAULTY PARTS THAT AFFECT THE REAR MAIN SEAL EVENTUALLY DAMAGING AND BLOWING IT OUT. THE ONLY THING IS I WAS CONTACTED 6 MONTHS AGO, OVER 6 YEARS OF OWNERSHIP SAYING THEY WOULD RECALL AND REPLACE/REPAIR THIS. THE ONLY THING IS MY CAR WAS DISQUALIFIED FOR HAVING OVER 120K IN MILEAGE AND I WAS TOLD I SHOULD CONSIDER MYSELF LUCKY IT STILL WORKS. I WAS DRIVING TO MY JOB AND HAD PARKED MY CAR. WHEN I STARTED MY CAR AND STARTED DRIVING IT WAS CHUGGING AND I SMELLED SOMETHING BURNING. I PULLED OVER AND CALLED MY BOYFRIEND TO BRING OIL AS THE CAR ALWAYS HAS BURNED OIL. IT HAD NEVER DONE THIS BEFORE. I GET IT HOME AND PLAN TO TAKE IT IN THE NEXT DAY. WHEN I WAKE UP AND CHECK MY CAR, ALL OF THE OIL WAS ON MY DRIVEWAY. THE SENSORS NEVER SHOWED ANYTHING AND I STILL HAD 30% OIL LIFE AND WAS MONITORING. IF IT WEREN'T FOR IT SMELLING LIKE SOMETHING BURNING, I WOULD HAVE HAD A SEIZED ENGINE. THIS IS NOW A $1500 REPAIR THAT WAS SUPPOSED TO HAVE BEEN RECALLED 3 YEARS AGO ACCORDING TO THE MECHANIC.

LAST OIL CHANGE WAS NOV. 21, 2019 AND ALL OIL IS NEARLY DEPLETED AFTER LESS THAN 2,000 MILES OF DRIVING IN UNDER 3 MONTHS. RECALL ISSUED FOR OTHER CHEVY 2013 EQUINOX VEHICLES. VIN LOOKUP TOOL STATES THIS SPECIFIC CAR IS NOT INCLUDED EVEN THOUGH THE SAME PROBLEM EXIST.
I'M WRITING THIS ON BEHALF JENNIE KRASON THE OWNER OF THE VEHICLE. SHE RECENTLY LOST MOST OF THE OIL IN HER VEHICLE DUE TO WHAT LYNCH CHEVROLET IN MUKWONAGO WI. SAID WAS CAUSED BY THE PVC SYSTEM FREEZE UP IN COLD TEMPERATURES WHICH CAUSED EXCESS PRESSURE IN THE CRANKCASE FORCING THE REAR CRANKSHAFT SEAL TO LEAK. SHE WAS DRIVING HOME FROM WORK WHEN THIS OCCURRED. AFTER LYNCH DIAGNOSED THE ISSUE WE FOUND A SERVICE BULLETIN # 14882 WHICH AS FAR AS WE CAN TELL HAS IDENTICAL SYMPTOMS AS WHAT JENNIE'S EQUINOX HAS. JENNIE CALLED CHEVROLET CUSTOMER SERVICE AT 1-800-222-1020. A COUPLE OF DAYS LATER WE WERE NOTIFIED THAT HER VEHICLE WAS NOT A PART OF THIS BULLETIN EVEN THOUGH AS FAR AS WE CAN TELL THIS IS THE SAME MOTOR AS DESCRIBED IN THE BULLETIN # 14882. FORTUNATELY THIS DID NOT OCCUR ON A HIGHWAY OR A BUSY STREET AS THE VEHICLE SHUT OFF FROM THIS CONDITION. RECENTLY ONLINE WE WERE CONCERNED BY THE NUMBER OF PEOPLE WE SAW SAYING THEY ALSO HAD THIS ISSUE AND WERE NOT FALLING WITHIN THE UNKNOWN GUIDELINES OF THIS BULLETIN.
2013 CHEVROLET EQUINOX. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO VEHICLE LEAKING OIL. *LD CONSUMER TOOK VEHICLE TO ZIMBRICK GMC (MADISON, WI) ON 2/18/20 BECAUSE IT WAS LEAKING OIL. HE WAS INFORMED THAT THE PVC VALVE HAD CLOGGED/FROZE CAUSING HIGH PRESSURE IN ENGINE WHICH CAUSED THE REAR DIFFERENTIAL GASKET TO BLOW OUT AND LEAK ENGINE OIL. HE WAS INFORMED OF A SPECIAL COVERAGE ADJUSTMENT BULLETIN FOR THE ISSUE, BUT HIS VIN NUMBER WAS NOT INCLUDED. MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED, BUT PROVIDED NO ASSISTANCE BECAUSE VIN NUMBER WAS NOT INCLUDED IN BULLETIN. *DL
DIGITAL SPEED WON'T LIGHT UP. NO LIGHT DRIVING OR STILL M
INCIDENT OCCURED ON 2/15/2020 IN UPSTATE NEW YORK AT APPROXIMATELY10AM. TEMPATURE AT THE TIME WAS 2 DEGREES FAHRENHEIT. OUR 2013 CHEVEY EQUINOX WITH 87,000 ON IT (2.4 LITER) WAS TRAVELING (IN MOTION ON INTERSTATE NY17E WHEN THE REAR MAIN SEAL BLEW OUT. VEHICLE BECAME DISABLED ON THE SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY AND WAS TOWED. THE MECHANIC SAID THE PCV HAD FROZEN AND CAUSED THE REAR MAIN SEAL TO BLOW OUT. GENERAL MOTORS ACKNOWLEDGES A FREEZING DEFECT IN THE PCV THROUGH A SERVICE BULLETIN #14822 DATED MARCH 2015. I CONTACTED GM ON 2/18/20 AND INQUIRED ABOUT THE SERVICE BULLETIN AND COVERAGE. GM STATED THEY WILL NOT PROVIDE COVERAGE. GM IS AWARE THAT THE PCV WILL FREEZE AND WILL RESULT IN A COSTLY REPAIR OF APPROXIMATELY $2000.

THE CONTACT EXITED THE VEHICLE AND BECAME AWARE OF OIL UNDERNEATH THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO ARTIOLI CHRYSLER DODGE RAM (525 ENFIELD ST, ENFIELD, CT 06082, (860)745-2469) TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE PCV VALVE WAS BLOCKED AND THE TRANS AXLE SEAL WAS LEAKING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO CHEVROLET BUICK GMC AUTO PARTS LOCATED AT 440 HALL OF FAME AVE, SPRINGFIELD, MA 01105, (413) 417-2959, TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE PCV VALVE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS INOPERABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED HOWEVER, NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE WAS PROVIDED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 75,570. THE VIN WAS INVALID.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 CHEVROLET EQUINOX. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH, THE OIL PRESSURE LOW STOP ENGINE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED CONTINUOUSLY. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THERE WAS A KNOCKING NOISE COMING FROM THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO ROGERS CHEVROLET 2720 S MICHIGAN AVE, CHICAGO, IL 60616, WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT OIL REAR SEAL NEEDED TO BE REPAIRED. THE CONTACT WAS UNAWARE OF ANY OTHER REPAIRS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 76,000.
ALL OIL CAME OUT OF ENGINE WHILE DRIVING, VEHICLE STOPPED ON A MAIN ROAD IN TOWN
TIMING CHAIN AND/OR TENSIONER FAILED RESULTING IN TOTAL LOSS OF THE ENGINE.
WHILE HAVING THE ENGINE DISASSEMBLED TO REPLACE FAULTY PISTON ASSEMBLIES THAT CAUSED EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION IT WAS FOUND THE HIGH PRESSURE FUEL PUMP WAS LEAKING. IT WAS ALSO FOUND THAT THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD WAS CRACKED AND THE O2 SENSOR AND CATALYTIC CONVERTER WAS WORN SUFFICIENTLY TO WARRANT REPLACEMENT. IT WAS COMMENTED THAT THE FUEL IN THE LUBRICATING OIL DUE TO THE LEAKING HIGH PRESSURE FUEL PUMP LIKELY ENRICHED THE EXHAUST VIA THE PCV SYSTEM TO OVERHEAT THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD, O2 SENSOR AND CONVERTER. TOTAL COST OF REPAIRS NOT COVERED BY THE FAULTY PISTON ASSEMBLY CLAIM # 2304031 CONSISTING OF REPLACEMENT OF HIGH PRESSURE FUEL PUMP, EXHAUST MANIFOLD, O2 SENSOR, CATALYTIC CONVERTER AND REQUIRED GASKET WAS $1,975.38 US DOLLARS LABOR INCLUDED. *TR

ENGINE IS BURNING OIL AT AN ALARMING RATE. EVERY 1,000 MILES THERE WILL BE NO OIL ON THE DIP STICK. NO WARNING LIGHT HAS CAME ON STATING MY OIL IS LOW. I COULD HAVE BLOWN MY ENGINE MULTIPLE TIMES IF I DIDN'T CHECK MY OIL REGULARLY. THIS IS NOT SAFE. I BOUGHT THIS CAR FROM A DEALERSHIP 5 MONTHS AGO AND HAVE ALREADY HAD TO GET 3 OIL CHANGES BC OF THE EXCESSIVE AMOUNT OF OIL LOSS PLUS HAVE HAD TO ADD OIL IN BETWEEN.
