Equinox Vehicle hit by full size pickup truck, driver to driver impact, with both vehicles estimated to be traveling at or near 40 mph each. The air bags did NOT deploy in the Equinox. Notation of the airbag failure was noted by on scene police, firefighters and paramedics. No other related work, alterations or repairs had previously occurred to this vehicle. No other indications or warning lights occurred or displayed prior to the accident. Vehicle is currently in possession of tow company or auto repair shop.
1.The airbags did not deploy, possibly missing. 2. I suffered injury and crashed into a building. I was hit. 3. Vehicle was inspected by the Hertz Rental Car. 4. Do not remember any messages.
I slammed on the brakes to avoid an accident and the seatbelt did not catch me. The accident did occur and made my jaw and chin area hit the steering wheel and airbag.
When retracting the driver front seat belt a “binding or grinding” noise is present when the belt unspools to be attached around the driver. After buckling and movement in the driver’s seat the noise is still present. The belt appears to retract but the noise is still present.
