TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHEVROLET HHR. THE CONTACT STATED THAT AFTER STARTING THE VEHICLE, THE BRAKE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED CONTINUOUSLY WHILE IT WAS 27 DEGREE FAHRENHEIT. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THERE WERE MULTIPLE COMPLAINTS DUE TO COLD WEATHER AND THAT THE BRAKE LIGHT MAY REMAIN ILLUMINATED. IN ADDITION, THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THERE WAS AN UNKNOWN TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN FOR THE ISSUE. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 153,000.

WHEN SWITCHING HEADLIGHTS TO HIGH BEAMS, THE AUTO LIGHTS HAVE A TENDENCY TO COMPLETELY TURN OFF - LEAVING THE DRIVER WITH NO ABILITY TO SEE THE ROAD. DT:THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE DID NOT HAVE TAIL LIGHTS. WHILE DRIVING AT NIGHT ONE COULD NOT SEE THE TAIL LIGHTS. THE BRAKE LIGHTS AND TURN SIGNALS WORKED PROPERLY. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN AT THE DEALERSHIP FOR 26 DAYS, AND THEY COULD NOT FIGURE OUT WHAT THE PROBLEM WAS. A REPRESENTATIVE FROM CHEVROLET HAS BEEN IN CONTACT WITH HIM, AND THEY STILL COULD NOT TELL HIM WHAT THE PROBLEM WAS. THE DEALERSHIP CHANGED THE BODY CONTROL MODULE AND IT STILL DID NOT CORRECT THE PROBLEM. *AK THE CONSUMER WAS TOLD THE INTERIOR LIGHTS HAD STOPPED WORKING. UPDATED 11/16/05. *JB
