AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION SLIPPING GEARS ON TAKE OFF, WHEELS SOUND LIKE BEARINGS ARE GOING OUT, LIKE A GRINDING NOISE. CHANGED THE FRONT BRAKE PADS AND ROTORS TOGETHER DUE TO WHEEL WOBBLE AND BRAKE SENSORS ON DISPLAY. CONSTANTLY DISPLAYING "SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL" ON MESSAGE BOARD. DEALERSHIP HAS REFUSED TO ASSIST WITH THIS ISSUE AS WELL AS ANY FAILURES OF THE VEHICLE. VEHICLE NOW IS IMMOBILIZED, AND WILL NOT GO INTO A FORWARD MOVEMENT ONLY A REVERSE DRIVE. WHEELS ARE LOCKED UP AND VEHICLE IS STRANDED! STILL MAKING PAYMENTS ON THIS USED PURCHASE. PLEASE ADVISE!!!
I WAS DRIVING THE CAR EARLIER TODAY IN THE POWER STEERING PUMP WAS MAKING NOISE. SO I CHECK IT IT WAS EMPTY I FILLED IT UP WITH POWER STEERING FOULED.COME TO FIND OUT ITS A LEAK AGAIN. FOR THE THIRD TIME IN THAT THE LIGHTS BEEN FLICKERING SINCE I BOUGHT THE CAR FOR TWO DAYS THE CHECK BATTERY SYSTEM LIGHT WAS ON. THEN ONE DAY IT CUT OFF ON ME IN TRAFFIC. WHILE DRIVING .THEN AFTER A WHILE I GOT A JUMP BUT THE CAR DIDN'T STAY RUNNING ON ITS ON AFTER THE FIFTH TRY IT STAYED RUNNING.I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE HOME NOW EVERY OTHER WEEK SO. I HAVE TO MESSING WITH CABLE CORD ON THE BATTERY TO GET THE CAR TO START. JUST SO HAPPENED TODAY MY ALTERNATOR. WAS ON FIRE. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT HAD TO CUT ALL THE WIRING OFF THAT WAS CONNECTED TO THE BATTERY JUST TO STOP THE FIRE FROM BURNING .

WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH, SMOKE WAS COMING FROM UNDERNEATH THE VEHICLE AND THE POWER STEERING FAILED WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A CERTIFIED MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE STEERING LINES RUPTURED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE CONTACT COASTED THE VEHICLE TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND NOTICED THAT THE REAR PASSENGER TIRE WAS SPLIT IN TWO. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A TIRE DEALER, BUT WERE NOT REPLACED. THE TRANSMISSION IN THESE CARS ARE JUNK I HAVE REPLACED 5 OF THEM AND NOBODY CAN EXPLAIN WHY THE TRANSMISSION KEEPS GOING OUT ON THESE CARS I JUST KEEP PAYING FOR NEW ONES.
NEITHER OF THE TWO HORN BUTTONS ON THE STEARING WHEEL ACTIVATE THE HORN. EITHER THE BUTTONS DO NOT WORK OR THE HORN DOES NOT WORK.

RECEIVED A ENGINE WARNING SYMBOL AND SOUND/CHIME AND THEN GOT THE MESSAGE, "POWER IS BEING REDUCED TO THE ENGINE". MY SPEED OF 40 MPH STEADILY LOWERED TO WHERE I PUT ON MY WARNING LIGHTS AS CARS WERE PILING UP BEHIND ME. I WAS ABLE TO TURN OFF ON A SIDE STREET WHERE THE CAR STOPPED. I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD WHEN THE ENGINE JUST COMPLETELY LOSSED POWER... THE CAR WOULDNT START UP UNLESS I UNPLUGGED THE BATTERY FOR AT LEAST 10 MINUTES. THE DASHBOARD READ ENGINE REDUCED POWER.. VERY SCARY SITUATION..I DONT FEEL SAFE DRIVING THIS VEHICLE ANYMORE.

SLIPPING FROM DEAD STOP TO ACCELERATION. THEN IT JERKS FORWARD DOES THIS COUPLE TIMES A MONTH.

THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED THE FAILURE PRIOR TO THE RECALL REPAIR. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO DEALER WHERE THE COMPUTER SOFTWARE WAS UPDATED HOWEVER, THE FAILURE PERSISTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 156,446.

ONGOING HISTORY AND SERVICE RELATED TO THROTTLE POSITION AND SENSOR (ALSO SERVICED) CODES P2176; P 2135. 8/1/15 I HAVE ADDRESSED THROUGH REPLACING OF THROTTLE POSITION AND SENSOR; BATTERY CABLE (DEALERSHIP SVC DEPT SUGGESTED LOW VOLTAGE RELATED TO THIS ISSUE - RETESTED, ISSUE CONTINUES) PARTS STORE HAS SUGGESTED "THROTTLE ACTUATOR CONTROL MODULE P 1516' CODES ALSO INCLUDE P0121, PO2135, P2119 FOUND PMC TO BE FAULTY -- "REPAIR AND REPLACED" 12/30/2014; THROTTLE BODY ASSEMBLY REPLACED ON APRIL 5, 2014. THIS HAS BEEN AN ONGOING ISSUE FOR TWO YEARS. ENGINE POWER DROPS AND CAR WILL ONLY DRIVE AT A LOW SPEED < 40MPH. THIS IS WHEN THE CAR IS IN MOTION. VARIOUS ATTEMPTS TO RESOLVE THE PROBLEM HAVE BEEN UNSUCCESSFUL. THIS ISSUE BEGAN AT APX 140K MILES AND HAS REOCCURRED AT 166L, 167K, 180K, 193K. SPEEDS THAT IT HAS OCCURRED HAS BEEN AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS OF 60-65MPG TO RESIDENTIAL 25-35MPH. RECORDS HAVE SERVICES DATES ARE AVAILABLE; TOO MANY TO UPLOAD ALL.
I WAS DRIVING MY 2006 IMPALA CAR AS A DAILY DRIVING CAR. DROVE GREAT, NO SHIFTING ISSUES OR TRANSMISSION SLIPPING. THEN ALL OF A SUDDEN I STARTED THE CAR UP ONE MORNING AND CAR DID NOT MOVE. IT FEELS LIKE THE TRANSMISSION IS ENGAGING, BUT DOESN'T MOVE. IIT ACTS LIKE CAR IS NOT IN ANY DRIVE GEAR EVEN AFTER PUTTING CAR INTO A GEAR, LIKE REVERSE OR DRIVE.
CHECK AIR BAG RANDOMLY COMES ON AND SHUTS OFF. SOME TIMES I THINK ITS RELATED TO KEYS IF I REMOVE THE WEIGHT OF KEYS BUT NOT SURE.
DRIVING AT 70 MPH ON INTERSTATE AND ENGINE SLOWED DOWN SUDDENLY ,,,REDUCED ENGINE POWER MESSAGE CAME ON
MY CAR WON'T SHIFT FROM THE PARK POSITION, I HAD TO LIFT UP CONSOLE COVER AND PUSH RELEASE BUTTON IN ORDER TO AVOID PAYING FOR A TOW. FOUND OUT IT WAS THE WIRED CONNECTOR OR MODULE OR POSSIBLY WIRES THAT MOVE WHEN YOU SHIFT GEARS.
ONLY 80,000 MILES ON MY CAR AND HAS 4 OIL/TRANSMISSION LEAKS. CONSUMER REPORTS SAYS THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM FOR MY CAR.
I HAVE HAD MY CAR FOR ALMOST A YEAR NOW AND EVER SINCE I BOUGHT IT, IT HAS CAUSED NOTHING BUT AN ISSUE. I ALWAYS GET AN "ENGINE POWER REDUCED" OR SOMETIMES EVEN "STARTING DISABLED SERVICE THROTTLE." THIS CAN HAPPEN ANYWHERE FROM 1-100 TIMES A DAY WHILE I AM DRIVING. IT HAS HAPPENED ON CITY STREETS, HIGHWAYS, TURNING, YOU NAME IT AND IT HAS HAPPENED. IT IS BECOMING A VERY BIG SAFETY ISSUE AS IT WILL DO IT IN THE MIDDLE OF INTERSECTIONS AND I FEAR THAT I WILL GET INTO AN ACCIDENT. I HAVE RAN THE CODES AND REPLACED EVERY PART IN THE CAR THAT DEALERSHIPS HAVE TOLD ME TO REPLACE BUT IT STILL KEEPS HAPPENING. I HAVE DONE A TON OF RESEARCH ON WHAT COULD BE WRONG AND IT NOT ONLY SEEMS LIKE THIS IS HAPPENING TO A LOT OF PEOPLE BUT THE THINGS THEY REPLACED IN THEIR CARS FIXED THE ISSUE BUT MINE SEEMS TO NOT EVER BE ABLE TO BE FIXED. THIS HAS BECOME A DANGEROUS THING, AS IT HAS HAPPENED TO ME IN THE MIDDLE OF SNOW STORMS ON ICY HIGHWAYS.

THE CHEVROLET IMPALA I OWN HAS HAD MAJOR PROBLEMS ABOUT A MONTH AFTER I BOUGHT THE CAR.... THE WHOLE ELECTRICAL AREA IN THE FRONT HAS WENT HAYWIRE ON ME.... I CANNOT SIGNAL, OR TURN MY BRIGHT LIGHTS ON AT ANY TIME.... PLUS, IT WILL NOT START FOR ME WHEN I NEED IT TO, I ALWAYS HAVE TO GET A JUMP FROM SOMEONE, & THAT EVEN TAKES BETWEEN 10-20 MINUTES.... THE PLACE THAT I BOUGHT IT FROM, THE REPAIRMEN CANNOT FIX IT RIGHT FOR ME, IT IS NOT FAIR TO PAY ALL THIS MONEY FOR MY CAR, WHICH WILL NOT WORK RIGHT... I HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO USE MY SIGNALS FOR A VERY LONG TIME NOW, IT IS VERY, VERY FRUSTRATING TO ME.... I HAVE BEEN STRANDED ON THE STREETS, THE HIGHWAY, EVEN AT WORK AFTER MY SHIFT, IT HAS EVEN STOPPED ON ME WHILE TAKING MY KIDS TO & FROM SCHOOL....
REAR DEFROST STOPPED WORKING. WHEN I LOOKED INTO WHY, I FOUND THE LARGE ELECTRICAL CONNECTOR THATS BEHIND THE FRONT PASSENGER KICK PANEL TO BE COMPLETELY BURNT. THE CONNECTIONS ARE OBVIOUSLY NOT RATED HIGH ENOUGH TO HANDLE THE AMPS NEEDED. WHEN I LOOKED ON LINE THERE IS HUNDREDS OF PEOPLE COMPLAINING ABOUT THE SAME THING. THIS CIRCUIT IS ALSO NOT PROTECTED BY A FUSE. IT'S A MIRACLE THAT THIS DIDN'T BURN MY CAR TO THE GROUND. THIS IS A VERY LARGE PROBLEM WITH A LARGE NUMBER OF EFFECTED CARS. MINE WAS JUST A SMALL ELECTRICAL FIRE, BUT COULD HAVE BEEN MUCH WORSE.

THE DRIVERS SIDE SEATBELT FAILS TO LATCH. ON THE MORNING OF 9/9/2015 I WAS UNABLE TO GET THE SEATBELT TO LATCH NO MATTER WHAT I TRIED. THE RED BUTTON MOVES UP AND DOWN FREELY JUST LIKE THE OTHER SEATBELT LATCHES IN THE VEHICLE. IS THERE A RECALL ON THIS YEAR IMPALA?

IN ADDITION, THE DEALER STATED THAT THE AIR BAGS WERE AFFECTED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED; HOWEVER, THE AIR BAGS WERE NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 258,000.
I WAS DRIVING MY VEHICLE WHEN IT SUDDENLY CUT OFF WITH AN "ENGINE POWER REDUCED" SIGN AND THE CAR ULTIMATELY SHUT OFF COMPLETELY. THE CAR WOULD NOT COME BACK ON. IT HAD TO BE TOWED HOME AND THEN TOWED TO A CHEVY DEALERSHIP IN FRANKFORT, IL. THE CHEVY DEALERSHIP COULD NOT DEPICT THE PROBLEM AND HELD MY CAR FOR ALMOST TWO WEEKS. THE DEALERSHIP SAID THAT IT MAY BE SOMETHING INTERMITTENT BUT FAILED TO FIX THE ISSUE. THE DEALERSHIP RELEASED MY CAR TO ME AND THE ENGINE POWER REDUCED RETURNED THE NEXT DAY. THE CAR IS CURRENTLY OUT OF COMMISSION.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHEVROLET IMPALA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE REAR DRIVER SIDE AND REAR PASSENGER SIDE DOORS FAILED TO OPEN FROM OUTSIDE AND INSIDE THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
AT START UP OF MY CAR THE DRIVER SIDE AIRBAG WOULD SAY SERVICE REQUIRED, BUT IT WOULD GO AWAY WHEN WE BUCKLED UP. WHEN IN A WEEK IT STARTED TO STAY ON. IT NO LONGER GOES AWAY. ALSO NOW Y WHEN I SHUT OFF MY CAR THE RADIO WILL STAY ON EVEN WHEN YOU OPEN THE DRIVERS SIDE DOOR AND LOCK IT. I HAVE TO MANUALLY SHUT IT OFF.
POWER STEERING FAILED. UPON STARTING VEHICLE ONE MORNING, HAD LITTLE TO NO STEERING POWER. HAD POWER STEERING PUMP REPLACED, THREE TIMES, FIRST PUMP FAILED, SECOND PUMP FAILED ALSO.(MECHANIC SOURCE FOR PARTS BAD). HOLE IN HOSE ALSO. PROBLEM HAS OCCURRED AGAIN. MUST NOW HAVE RACK AND PINION REPLACED, POWER STEERING FLUID LEAKING IN THAT AREA.
I WAS DRIVING NORTH ON ROUTE 24 - DIXIE HIGHWAY - SOUTH OF DAVISBURG ROAD / NORTH OF I-75 (OAKLAND COUNTRY, MI) AT 6PM ON THURSDAY JUNE 25, 2015. THERE WAS A CHEVY IMPALA DRIVING SOUTH IN THE NORTHBOUND LANE (I.E. HE WAS HEADING THE WRONG WAY). I AVOIDED HIM BY SWERVING BUT HE COLLIDED WITH A FORD EXPLORER HEADING NORTH. THE COLLISION WAS NOMINALLY A HEAD ON, OFFSET TOWARDS THE DRIVER'S SIDE. THE IMPALA WAS FAIRLY NEW, AFTERWARDS I CHECKED PICTURES ON THE WEB AND I'M PRETTY CONFIDENT IT WAS A MY 2006-2012 MODEL. THE EXPLORER WAS FAIRLY NEW AS WELL. I WAS ONE OF THE FIRST PEOPLE TO ARRIVE AT THE SCENE OF THE ACCIDENT. THE IMPALA DRIVER WASN'T WEARING HIS SEAT BELT AND WAS UNCONSCIOUS LAYING ACROSS THE FRONT SEATS WHEN I ARRIVED. THE WINDSHIELD WAS CRACKED WHERE HIS HEAD HAD STRUCK IT. THE HORN WAS SOUNDING AND IT LOOKED LIKE FUEL HAD BEEN SPILLED. I WANTED TO MAKES SURE THE CAR WAS OFF TO PREVENT A FIRE SO I REMOVED THE KEYS FROM THE IGNITION. THE HORN CONTINUED TO SOUND. IT WAS EVENTUALLY STOPPED WHEN SOMEONE DISCONNECTED THE CABLES FROM THE BATTERY. NONE OF THE AIRBAGS IN THE IMPALA HAD BEEN DEPLOYED. THERE WAS A KNOWLEDGEABLE VOLUNTEER NEAR BY WHO TOLD US NOT TO TOUCH THE DRIVER BECAUSE HE MAY HAVE SPINAL INJURIES. I SPENT THE NEXT THIRTY MINUTES AT THE SCENE AND PROVIDED A WRITTEN STATEMENT TO THE POLICE. BASED UPON THE WAY THE BODY WAS HANDLED, I AM ASSUMING THE DRIVER OF THE IMPALA WAS KILLED BY THE IMPACT. I AM SURPRISED THAT THERE WAS ENOUGH FORCE IN THE IMPACT TO KILL THE DRIVER (I ASSUME) BUT NOT ENOUGH TO DEPLOY THE AIRBAGS. THE DRIVER IN THE EXPLORER WAS INJURED BUT HER INJURIES DIDN'T LOOK ESPECIALLY SERIOUS AND HER AIRBAGS DEPLOYED. I BELIEVE THE IMPALA SHOULD BE INVESTIGATED / INSPECTED BY A TRAINED PROFESSIONAL TO ESTABLISH THE ROOT CAUSE ON WHY THE AIRBAG DIDN'T DEPLOY.

IT IS A SAFETY HAZARD WHEN I AM STOPPED AT A INTERSECTION AND THE LIGHT TURNS GREEN I PRESS THE GAS AND THE ENGINE TAKES A FEW SECONDS TO REACT, IT HAS HAPPEN TO ME SEVERAL TIMES AND HAS CAUSED ME TO GET IN SEVERAL CLOSE COLLISIONS. WIRE HARNESS CONNECTION BEHIND PASSENGERS SIDE KICKPLATE MELTING DUE TO REAR DEFROSTER WINDOW NOT HAVING A TIMER TO SHUT OFF. IT STAYS ON THE WHOLE DURATION OF HAVING THE DEFROSTERS ON WHICH IN TURN MELTS THE CONNECTION DUE TO NOT HAVING A INLINE FUSE. THE MELTING CONNECTION CAN CAUSE FIRE DUE TO ARCING CONNECTION.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2006 CHEVROLET IMPALA. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH IN VERY LIGHT RAIN WHEN THE VEHICLE EXHIBITED AN ABNORMAL CLICKING NOISE FOUR TIMES SUCCESSIVELY. THE FRONT END OF THE VEHICLE THEN SEEMED TO DROP TO THE GROUND CAUSING THE STEERING WHEEL TO SEIZE, THE TRACTION CONTROL WARNING LIGHT TO FLASH AND THE BRAKES TO BECOME INOPERABLE. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE AIR BAG ERRONEOUSLY DEPLOYED AND KNOCKED HER UNCONSCIOUS. THE VEHICLE THEN TRAVELED OFF THE ROADWAY, INTO A WOODY AREA AND CRASHED INTO A TREE. THE CONTACT WAS AWOKEN BY THE SCREAMS OF HER SMALL CHILDREN, WHO WERE SITTING IN THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE. TWO CHILD PASSENGERS WERE INJURED AND SUFFERED LACERATIONS TO THE FACE, CONTUSIONS OF THE SHOULDERS, FACE, HEAD INJURIES AND A CONCUSSION. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED A SPRAINED NECK, FRACTURED SPINE, AND A CONCUSSION, CLOTTING IN THE SKULL, A CHEST WALL CONTUSION AND LACERATIONS TO THE LEGS. ALL THREE PASSENGERS REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE CONTACT AND ALL PASSENGERS WERE ABLE TO EXIT THE VEHICLE WITHOUT FURTHER INJURIES. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED OF THE INCIDENT, AND THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED FROM THE SCENE. THE CONTACT WAS ADVISED THAT THE TRANSMISSION AND THE MOTOR HAD BOTH FALLEN OUT OF THE VEHICLE PRIOR TO THE CRASH AND WERE STILL IN THE ROADWAY. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF A RECALL ON THE IGNITION SWITCH ONE WEEK AFTER THE CRASH OCCURRED (NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 14V355000 - ELECTRICAL) . THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 186,000.

THEN ABOUT 1 WEEK LATER IT HAPPENED AGAIN BUT THIS TIME MY CAR WAS ACTING FUNNY WHEN I NEEDED TO ACCELERATE. I WAS TRYING TO WAIT UNTIL PAID DAY TO TAKE IT TO BE CHECKED BUT I COULDN'T WAIT. ON WEDNESDAY, APRIL 1, 2015 WHENEVER I STOPPED AT A LIGHT OR STOP SIGN WHEN IT WAS TIME TO GO MY CAR WOULD NOT ACCELERATE. I MADE IT WORK OK, BUT ON MY BREAK I NEEDED TO GO TAKE CARE OF SOME IMPORTANT BUSINESS AND MY CAR JUST STOPPED ON ME WHILE I WAS MAKING A RIGHT HAND TURN. IT WOULD NOT START UP. I COULD NOT TURN IT OR ANYTHING. MY CAR STALLED AND I ENDED UP ON THE WRONG SIDE OF THE ROAD. I WAS ABLE TO PUSH MY CAR OUT OF THE WAY AND I HAD TO WALK BACK TO WORK. AFTER WORK MY CAR STARTED WITH NO PROBLEM AND I DROVE IT LESS THAN 1 MILE TO FIRESTONE TIRE WHERE THEY DID A COMPUTER DIAGNOSIS AND TOLD ME THE ACCELERATOR CONTROL WAS BAD. I ASKED THEM IF THEY WERE SURE THAT WAS THE PROBLEM AND NOT THE THROTTLE BODY AND THEY SAID YES. WHILE ON MY WAY HOME TONIGHT FRIDAY, 4/3/15 ENGINE CAME ON AND ENGINE POWER REDUCED MESSAGE AGAIN.
