I WAS ON MY WAY HOME, PULLED OFF OF THE INTERSTATE AND HALFWAY DOWN THE EXIT RAMP, MY TRACTION LIGHT AND A WARNING MESSAGE BEGAN SCROLLING. THE MESSAGE SAID POWER STEERING SERVICE ESC. I TURN MY CAR ON AND THE STEERING WHEEL STARTS TO SHAKE. AFTER A MINUTE (OR LESS) MY POWER STEERING SERVICE ESC TURNS ON AS A WARNING AND THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKS UP. I CAN HARDLY TURN THE WHEEL ON MY OWN. I CAN NO LONGER DRIVE IT SAFELY.
Driver seats horizontal bar has snapped it now leans to th e left. Comes up off of floor when breaking and accelerating. Concerned that the seat will become detached if ever in a rear or front end collision sending me out of the vehicle
WHEN DRIVING MY 2009 MALIBU LTZ 2.4L EITHER STREET OR HIGHWAY THE ELECTRIC POWER STEERING WILL GO OUT WITH NO NOTICE. QUITE DANGEROUS IN ANY SITUATION OF DRIVING. MIL LIGHT GOES ON AND OFF WHEN TURNING THE STEERING WHEEL AT SAME TIME POWER STEERING SHUTS DOWN. TURNING VEHICLE OFF AND BACK ON SOMETIMES FIXES THE PROBLEM BUT ONLY FOR A FEW MINUTES. THIS PROBLEM JUST STARTED TO OCCUR AT 164,007 MILES.
I HAVE A 2009 CHEVY MALIBU 2.4 THAT I PURCHASED. MY VEHICLE HAS UNDER 150 MILE AND RUNS EXCEPTIONAL. DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD THE OTHER DAY AND POWER STEERING LIGHT CAME ON AND I LOST ALL POWER STEERING IN A TURN THANKFULLY I WAS ABLE TO RECOVER THE VEHICLE TURNING DIRECTION QUICKLY BARELY MISSING A PEDESTRIAN ON SIDE WALK. I GOT THE VEHICLE TO TURN IN TO A NEAR BY GAS STATION PARKING LOT AND PARKED. I TURNED OFF THE VEHICLE AND LET IT SIT FOR A MIN. NOT SURE WHAT TO DO? I TURNED THE VEHICLE ON AND THERE WAS NO POWER STEERING LIGHT THAT CAME ON EVERYTHING WAS BACK TO NORMAL. LIKE IT DIDNT EVEN HAPPEN. I WAS ABLE TO GET THE CAR HOME. I HAD CODES READ ON THE MALIBUE TO SEE WHAT NEEDED TO BE FIXED NO CODES EVEN SHOWED UP ON THE SCREEN. I CHALKED IT UP TO A SCARY FLUKE. I'VE DRIVIN THE CAR WITH OUT ANY ISSUE UNTIL TODAY I STARTED THE CAR AND BEFORE I EVEN GOT OFF THE GRAVEL ROAD I LIVE ON THE SAME THING HAPPENED AGAIN. ONCE I TURN THE CAR OFF AND BACK ON AS BEFORE THE POWER STEERING ISSUE GOES AWAY. THIS ISN'T SAFE AT ALL.
I WAS DRIVING ON THE PARKWAY MY VEHICLE STARTED MAKING A LOUD SOUND IDLING HIGH THEN IT MADE A LOUD POP SOUND THEN BEGAN TO SMOKE BY THE TIME I PULLED OVER SMOKE WAS COMING THROUGH THE VENTS AND FIRE WAS COMING FROM THE HOOD I WAS ABLE TO GET MY TWO SMALL BOYS OUT BEFORE IT COMPLETELY WENT UP IN FLAMES
THE POWER STEERING STOPS WORKING GETTING A WARNING, AND THE TRACTION CONTROL WARNING LIGHT COMES ON. AFTER SHUTTING OFF IT RESTARTED POWER STEERING.
MY DOOR LOCKS WERE AUTOMATICLY GOING UP AND DOWN. NOW DOORS LOCK OUT OF BLUE. KINDA DISCOURAGING NOW MY POWER STEERING AND SERVICE HAS ACTED UP 2 TIMES ON DEC 06 2020. BOTH TIMES THE POWER STEERING WARNING CAME ON I HAVE BEEN SITTING STILL. HEARD THERE HAS BEEN RECALL ON PREVIOUS MALIBU.
UPON STARTING MY CAR ONE DAY, MY SERVICE ESC LIGHT CAME ON AND MY POWER STEERING DISABLED. THIS HAPPENED OUT OF ABSOLUTELY NOWHERE. MY VEHICLE HAS HAD NO STEERING PROBLEMS UNTIL THAT DAY. I SHUT THE CAR OFF AND RESTARTED IT. NO LIGHTS CAME ON AND EVERYTHING WORKED JUST FINE. LATER THAT DAY IT DID THE SAME THING. SO I RESTARTED MY CAR AND IT WAS OKAY. THE NEXT DAY I STARTED IT AND THE LIGHT CAME ON AND THE POWER STEERING WAS DISABLED, ONLY THIS TIME IT WOULD NOT GO AWAY. SO I DROVE WITHOUT THE POWER STEERING. LATER, THE EPS WORKED FINE AND ALL THE SUDDEN WENT OUT WHILE I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY. SINCE THEN, THE EPS HAS STAYED DISABLED AND THE ESC LIGHT HAS STAYED ON. IN THE EVENT THAT I START THE CAR AND EVERYTHING IS IN WORKING ORDER, IT'S NOT LONG (5-10 MINUTES) BEFORE THE EPS STOPS WORKING AGAIN. THERE WERE OVER A MILLION CARS THE EXACT SAME YEAR AND MODEL RECALLED FOR THIS ISSUE.
POWER STEERING FAILURE WITH EPS SERVICE WARNING. SUDDEN LOSS OF POWER STEERING AND A WARNING THAT STATES SERVICE ESC. WHEN I TURN OFF THE VEHICLE AND TURN BACK ON SYSTEMS MAY RETURN BUT EVENTUALLY FAIL WITH SUDDEN LOSS OF POWER STEERING AND ESC. THIS OCCURS WHILE DRIVING OR STATIONARY INTERMITTENTLY AT STOP LIGHTS WHILE DRIVING AND PARKED.
THE PASSENGER AIRBAG WON'T ACTIVATE WHEN SOMEONE IS SETTING IN IT STATIONARY AND MOVING
PASSENGER LOW BEAM BULB REPEATEDLY BURNS OUT. LASTS FOR LESS THAN A DAY.
THE POWER STEERING JUST GOES IN AND OUT AND TGE STEERING WHEEL STARTS ACTI G FUNNY AND PULLS BACK HAR TO THE OPOSIT SIDE
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 CHEVROLET MALIBU. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 50 MPH, THE ESC POWER STEERING WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED AND THE VEHICLE BECAME DIFFICULT TO STEER. THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN TO SISBARRO BUICK-GMC, INC (425 W. BOUTZ RD, LAS CRUCES, NM 88005, (575) 524-7707) TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE POWER STEERING ASSIST FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE CONTACT MENTIONED NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14E044000 (STEERING) AS A POSSIBLE SOLUTION TO THE FAILURE HOWEVER, THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VIN WAS NOT UNDER RECALL. THE CONTACT WAS REFERRED BACK TO THE DEALER FOR THE REPAIR. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 150,000. *LN CONSUMER HAS CONTACTED THE MANUFACTURER. VEHICLE HAS BEEN REPAIRED.*JB
I'VE BEEN HAVING AN ISSUE WITH MY VEHICLE REGISTERING WHICH GEAR IT IS IN. THE GEARS SHIFT HARD, AND WHEN PLACING THE VEHICLE IN REVERSE, THE VEHICLE VIGOROUSLY JERKS BACK AND FORTH. WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE ON THE ROAD, IT SLOWED DOWN TO A COMPLETE STOP IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC. THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT ACCELERATE, AND WHEN IT FINALLY DID, IT JUST TAKES OFF WITH NO WARNING. WHEN PLACING THE VEHICLE ON PARK, AT TIMES IT WOULD STILL ROLL.. THERE IS ALSO THE POWER STEERING AND TRACTION CONTROL SENSORS THAT ARE BOTH ILLUMINATED ON THE DASHBOARD. THE STEERING STIFFENING IN THE VEHICLE IS AN ISSUE ONLY SOMETIMES. HOWEVER, IT STILL WORRIES ME WHILE DRIVING ON THE ROAD WITH MY TODDLER IN THE VEHICLE AS WELL. I DID RESEARCH RECALLS ASSOCIATED WITH THE MAKE, MODEL, AND YEAR OF MY VEHICLE AND FOUND THAT THERE IS A RECALL IN EACH AREA I'M HAVING TROUBLE IN. HOWEVER, WHEN I SPOKE WITH A CHEVROLET ASSOCIATE, I WAS TOLD THAT THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO FOR ME. I WON'T DRIVE THE VEHICLE BECAUSE I DON'T FEEL IT'S SAFE AND I'M AFRAID OF AN ACCIDENT TAKING PLACE.
POWER STEERING FAILS WHILE DRIVING. DASHBOARD WILL SAY "TRACTION OFF, ESC OFF" AND I WON'T BE ABLE TO MOVE STEERING WHEEL. THIS HAS HAPPENED IN BUSY INTERSECTIONS. I HAVE TO STOP THE VEHICLE AND RESTART IN ORDER TO GAIN POWER STEERING AGAIN. MECHANIC HAS DIAGNOSED IT AS TORQUE SENSOR/STEERING COLUMN. THIS WAS RECALLED ON MANY OTHER MALIBUS, BUT NOT MINE. A LOT OF PEOPLE ARE HAVING THIS SAME PROBLEM BUT WEREN'T INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING SINCE I PURCHASED VEHICLE SEVEN YEARS AGO AT 80,000 MILES (ABOUT ONCE PER YEAR) AND HAS GOTTEN WORSE RECENTLY AT 170,000 MILES (MULTIPLE TIMES PER MONTH). THIS IS DANGEROUS AND VERY EXPENSIVE.*DT *TR
DRIVING AT ABOUT 60 MPH ON A STRAIGHT AWAY, CAR LOST POWER STEERING AND SENSOR LIGHT SERVICE ESC/POWER STEERING STARTED FLASHING. THE STEERING FELT NO DIFFERENT PRIOR TO LOSING, NO NOISES. DROVE IT THIS WAY UNTIL I REACHED MY DESTINATION ABOUT 4 MILES AWAY. CAR SAT FOR 4 HOURS, TURNED IT BACK ON AND HAD REGAINED ALL STEERING AND NO WARNING LIGHTS CAME BACK ON. I HAVE NOTICED THAT FOR ABOUT THE PAST 4 YEARS, DURING THE COLDER MONTHS, THE SERVICE ESC/SERVICE TRACTION NOTIFICATION WILL RANDOMLY POP ON FOR NO OTHER REASON THEN THE COLD AND I LOSE TIRE TRACTION. PRETTY POSITIVE THIS IS WHAT CAUSED ME TO SLIDE OFF THE ROAD 2 YEARS AGO. WHENEVER I HAVE TAKEN IT TO DEALERSHIP FOR ANALYSIS, THEY CLAIM THEY CAN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG, BECAUSE THE LIGHT POPS OFF AS QUICK AS IT COMES ON. I HAVE ALSO SPECIFICALLY ASKED ABOUT AND LOOKED UP A RECALL FOR THIS, AND WHEN MY VIN IS ENTERED IT SHOWS THAT IT IS NOT NEEDED. I FOUND THE RECALL FROM 2014 FOR THE POWER STEERING ISSUE, SO EITHER THE PRIOR OWNER HAD IT FIXED AND IT DIDN'T LAST, OR IT WAS NEVER DONE TO BEGIN WITH BECAUSE SOMETHING IS DEFINITELY WRONG HERE. THIS IS OBVIOUSLY A MAJOR ISSUE AND THE FIRST TIME I HAVE LOST MY STEERING. I HAVE OWNED THIS VEHICLE FOR 7 YEARS, STAYING ON TOP OF ALL REQUIRED MAINTENANCE AND THEN SOME. GM NEEDS TO GET A FIX FOR THIS!!!
OUR 2009 MALIBU JUST TURNED 67,000 MILES TODAY AND THE ECM STARTED FLASHING SERVICE STEERING AND NO TRACTION CONTROL ON A TWO-HOUR DRIVE HOME. AFTER LIMPING HOME BY PHYSICALLY MAN-HANDLING THE STEERING WHEEL TO MAKE A TURN, WE MADE IT HOME. SEARCHED ON-LINE FOR POSSIBLE ISSUES AND FOUND A MULTITUDE OF OTHER 2009 MALIBU OWNERS FACING THE SAME IDENTICAL ISSUE. CHECKED THE GM WEBSITE FOR ANY POSSIBLE RECALLS AND NONE WERE FOUND. THE SAME WAS TRUE WHEN CONTACTING A LOCAL GM DEALERSHIP. THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY HAZARD THAT COULD RESULT IN SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH IN THE EVENT OF A CRASH THAT, WILL EVENTUALLY HAPPEN IF NOT FIXED. GM NEEDS TO STEP UP AND CORRECT THIS ISSUE.
IN TURNING THE VEHICLE THE ESC POWER STEERING TRIP ON REMOVING THE ABILITY TO TURN USING POWER STEERING. OTHER CARS WERE RECALLED FOR A FIX FOR THIS BUT NOT MY 4 CYLINDER 2.4 YET I'M HAVING THE SAME ISSUE
I HAVE A 2009 CHEVY MALIBU AND IT'S VERY UNSAFE TO DRIVE. I HAVE A 4 CYLINDER CAR WITH ELECTRIC POWER STEERING AND IT WAS NOT APART OF THE RECALL. YET IT'S HAVING THE SAME SYMPTOMS AS THE RECALL CARS. I HAD TO HAVE MY CAR PUSHED OUT OF A DITCH YESTERDAY BECAUSE IT'S SO HARD TO TURN MY STEERING WHEEL I LOST CONTROL OF MY CAR. MY TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT IS ON, AND PRESSING THE BUTTON DOES NOT WORK. I SOMETIMES DON'T HAVE CONTROL TO UNLOCK MY DOOR AND HAVE TO CALL SOMEONE TO PHYSICALLY OPEN IT FROM THE OUTSIDE. MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS ON, ALSO MY BATTERY LIGHT. AND THEY ARE ALL GOOD AND UP TO DATE. MY TRACTION AND SYSTEM LIGHT IS ON TOO. AND MY HEAD LIGHTS, BRAKE LIGHTS, AND BATTERY IS CONSTANTLY DRAINED AND GOING OUT. IT'S HARD TO FIND REASONABLE PRICE'S FROM AUTO SHOPS, AND THE DEALERSHIP PRICES ARE TOO EXPENSIVE. I SHOULDN'T HAVE TO STRUGGLE TO TURN AND WORK MY CAR BECAUSE OF A COMPUTER SYSTEM THAT'S OUT. IT'S VERY DANGEROUS. I'M GOING TO UPLOAD A PICTURE OF MY CAR AFTER IT WAS PUSHED OUT THE DITCH. BUT MY STEERING WHEEL HAS BEEN HARD TO TURN AND I'VE BEEN HAVING THIS PROBLEM SINCE JANUARY OF 2020. AND IT MAKES A LOUD WHINING NOISE WHILE TRYING TO TURN THE WHEEL.
THE POWER STEERING JUST GOES OUT, THE ESC LIGHT COMES ON AND IT WILL JUST GO OUT. IVE SEEN THIS IS A KNOW ISSUE WITH THIS CAR. ALSO THE DOOR LOCKS QUIT ON MOST OF THE CARS.
WHEN GOING OVER ANY BUMP OR TURNING THE FRONT END SHAKES AND MAKES A CLACKING NOISE. ESC IS OFF. TRACTION CONTROL IS ALWAYS OFF. ERROR CODES READ P0010 P0449 P0013 P0722 P0011
POWER STEERING POWER STEERING PUMP SERVICE ESC LIGHT CAME ON
CAR SHUTS OFF WHILE DRIVING PROBLEMS ELECTRICAL
LOSS OF POWER STEERING WHILE DRIVING BUT IF YOU TURN THE CAR OFF AND TURN IT BACK ON IT CORRECTS THE PROBLEM. THIS SEEMS TO BE HAPPENING MORE FREQUENTLY IN COLD WHEATHER. ESC SERVICE LIGHT AND ABS LIGHT COMES ON WHEN THIS HAPPENS. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS SINCE IT ONLY HAPPENS WHILE THE CAR IS IN DRIVE. POWER STEERING SEEMS TO LOCK ON WHEN THE WHEEL IS TURNING. THIS HAS BEEN AN ONGOING PROBLEM FOR US SINCE WE BOUGHT THE VEHICLE IN SEPTEMBER OF 2020.
The contact owns a 2009 Chevrolet Malibu. The contact stated that the brake lights, service traction, and ESC warning lights were illuminated. Additionally, the cruise control was inoperable. While driving the brake pedal was depressed however, the brake lights failed to illuminate. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer where it was diagnosed that the brake pedal switch and calibration needed to be repaired. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where the brake pedal switch was replaced. The manufacturer was notified and referred the contact to the NHTSA. The contact stated that the failure was related to NHTSA Campaign Number: 14V252000 (Electrical system, Exterior Lighting, Vehicle Speed Control, Electronic Stability Control). The failure mileage was 98,514.
MY TRACTION LIGHT COMES ON AND STOPS MY WHOLE CAR AND DRIVE EXTREMELY SLOW AND MY WHOLE JUST MESSED UP AND I NEED IT FIXED ASAP I CAN'T EVEN GET TO WORK WITHOUT MY CAR MESSING UP
I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD ( A COUNTRY BACKROAD AND NOT A HIGHWAY LUCKILY), AND SUDDENLY MY CAR LOST ALL POWER TO THE POWERTRAIN. I WAS GOING ABOUT 45 WHEN IT HAPPENED, AND I LOST POWER STEERING, ALL POWER TO THE MOTOR, AND MY BRAKES WERE INCREDIBLY HARD TO PUSH. AFTER THIS HAPPENED, THE CAR HAS A NO START NO CRANK CONDITION. IF I WERE IN THE MIDDLE LANE OF A HIGHWAY, OR A THE RIGHT LANE OF A BUSY HIGHWAY OR FREEWAY, OR EVEN JUST GOING AROUND A SHARP CURVE, I HAVE NO DOUBT THAT I WOULD HAVE WRECKED.
WHILE I WAS DRIVING ON MY WAY TO WORK GOING 45 MILES AN HOUR THE STEERING WHEEL SUDDENLY LOCKED UP ON ME ALMOST AS IF THE CAR WAS OFF AND I LOST COMPLETE CONTROL OF THE CAR RESULTING IN CRASHING INTO A STREET LIGHT POLE HEAD ON.
I WENT TO THE STORE CAME BACK OUT AN IT WOULDN'T TRUN OVER I GOT A NEW BATTERY AN GOT THE SAME RESULT
WHENEVER IT'S EXTREMELY HOT OUTSIDE MY VEHICLE START TO ACT UP AS IN THE 2 FRONT WHEELS WOULD JERK LIKE THEY'RE NOT GETTING ENOUGH POWER. MY CAR WOULD ALSO STALL OUT WHENEVER IT'S EXTREMELY HOT BUT THE TEMPERATURE GAUGE WOULD STILL SHOW AS THE CAR BEING 1/4 NEAR COLD. ALL OF THIS WOULD HAVE AT A STATIONARY POSITION OR CITY STREET OR HIGHWAY POSITION.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE STEERING FAILURE OCCURRED WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS STARTING UP AND WHILE DRIVING. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE ELECTRONIC STEERING CONTROL LIGHT ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL WHEN THE FAILURE OCCURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER INFORMED THE CONTACT THE THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V153000 (STEERING). THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 90,000.
MY 2009 CHEVY MALIBU HAS 75000 MILES AND POWER STEERING WENT OUT. I KEEP READING THE PROBLEMS W THESE VEHICLES AND NO RECALL? IM DISABLED AND MAKE 890 A MONTH AND CANT AFFORD TO FIX.THIS LET ALONE READING EVERYONES PROBLEMS W SAME MODEL
I HAVE REPEATEDLY REPLACED THE PASSENGER SIDE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHT BULB. ONCE I DID IT 3 TIMES IN TWO MONTHS. WHEN THEY WENT OUT THEY WOULD GO OUT SOMETIMES AND THEN COME BACK ON THE NEXT DAY AND GO OUT AGAIN. THE FOURTH TIME I TOOK OFF THE ENTIRE BUMPER TO CHANGE THE LIGHT (BECAUSE THE RIDICULOUS DESIGN OF THE CAR REQUIRES YOU TO DO THIS) THE LIGHT CAME ON AS I WAS REMOVING THE LAMP FROM ITS PLACE IN TO BUMPER I LEFT IT IN AND PUT THE LIGHT BACK IN (AND THE BUMPER BACK ON) IT WORKED FOR ONE DAY AND WENT OUT AGAIN. I DECIDED TO REGISTER THIS COMPLAINT AFTER FINDING A WEBSITE WHERE I WENT TO TRY TO FIGURE OUT WHAT WAS GOING ON. AT THAT WEBSITE, I FOUND MANY PEOPLE DESCRIBING THE SAME PROBLEM THAT I WAS HAVING, ALL BUT ONE WERE EXPERIENCING THIS PROBLEM ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. I REALIZE IT IS DANGEROUS TO DRIVE WITH ONLY ONE LAMP, BUT THE FREQUENCY OF THE PROBLEM MAKES IT TIME AN COST PROHIBITIVE TO CONTINUALLY REPLACE THE BULB, ESPECIALLY WHEN IT GOES OUT SOON AFTER IT IS REPLACED. IT IS VERY FRUSTRATING, I FELT I HAD TO DO THIS AFTER TRYING TO FIX IT AGAIN LAST WEEK. THE PROBLEM HAS OCCURRED PERIODICALLY OVER THE LAST TWO YEARS WITH THE MOST RECENT OCCURANCE ON JULY 8, 2020.
WHEN TRYING TO USE THE REMOTE TO UNLOCK THE DOORS, THE DOORS WILL NOT UNLOCK. IT STARTED WITH THE PASSENGER SIDE REAR DOOR. THE PASSENGER SIDE FRONT DOOR STARTED HAVING THE SAME ISSUE AND NOW IT HAS ALSO COME TO THE DRIVERS SIDE FRONT DOOR. YOU CANNOT USE THE FOB FROM OUTSIDE NOR CAN YOU USE THE UNLOCK BUTTON ON THE INSIDE TO GET THE DOORS TO UNLOCK. IN ORDER TO GET TO THE BACK SEAT, YOU HAVE TO CLIMB OVER THE SEAT AND PULL THE UNLOCK BUTTON BY THE WINDOW. WE HAVE CHECK THE CHILD SAFELY LOCKS AND THEY ARE NOT ENGAGED. THERE ARE MANY INSTANCES OF THE SAME ISSUE AS WELL AS ISSUES OF THE LOCKS UNLOCKING WHILE THEY CARS ARE IN MOTION. IT SEEMS THAT GM HAS BEEN CONTACTED AND THEY HAVE REFUSED TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THESE ISSUES. WHAT CAN A CITIZEN DO TO GET THIS TAKEN CARE OF? THIS IS A DANGEROUS SITUATION IF YOU HAVE A CHILD IN THE CAR AND CANNOT GET THE DOOR OPEN TO GET THEM OUT IN CASE OF AN EMERGENCY. I HAVE DISCUSSED IT WITH MECHANICS AND THEY ARE TELLING ME THAT THE ACCUATOR(SPELLING) IS AN ISSUE AND HAS BEEN FOR MANY YEARS.
CAR WAS DRIVING FINE, THEN ALL OF A SUDDEN THE POWER STEERING WENT OUT. ESC LIGHT CAME ON AS WELL AS THE POWER STEERING AND TRACTION LIGHT. BECAME ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO TURN THE WHEEL. ESPECIALLY WHILE GOING SLOWER.

THE LOCKS ON THIS YEAR MAKE AND MODEL HAVE A LONG HISTORY OF DOOR LOCK FAILURE, SOMETIMES THEY GO UP WHILE DRIVING, SOMETIMES THEY WONT GO UP OR DOWN AT ALL WITH REMOTE OR CAR ON/OFF, AND THIS HAPPENS THE WORST AND MOSTLY IN HEAT AND HOT WEATHER. THERE ARE COMPLAINTS ALL OVER THE INTERNET FOR YEARS. GM REFUSES TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY. THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE, ESPECIALLY FOR CHILDREN IN THE BACK. SINCE 2018 MY BRAKE LIGHTS WILL COME ON WITHOUT TOUCHING THE BRAKES. WHEN THIS HAPPENS, MY CRUISE CONTROL WON'T WORK. I CAN TAP THE BRAKES AND THEY'LL GO OFF FOR ABOUT 3-5 SECONDS AND THEN COME BACK ON. AFTER AWHILE, THE ESC AND TRACTION CONTROL LIGHTS WILL POP UP ON MY DASHBOARD. I LOST THE ELECTRIC STEERING POWER MAKING A TURN ONTO THE HIGHWAY, WHICH CAUSED ME TO EXIT TO SHOULDER. I RE-ENTERED HIGHWAY & STRUGGLED FIERCELY WITH THE STEERING TO MAKE IT HOME, FOUGHT MY TURN ONTO MY STREET & MADE THAT HARD TURN INTO DRIVEWAY. The headlights continually burn out and melt connectors on multiple malibus around this year model, myself, my friends and many online have all been effected, the issue seems to have started as early as 2014 and still continues to this day. I have been fighting this issue myself for many years now. I once had a connector smoke so bad I had to run to turn everything off and make sure it wasn't burning.

THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE STEERING SHAFT TORQUE SENSOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER 14V153000 (STEERING). THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 107,000. THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED.

THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT SUBJECTED TO A RECALL AND THAT AN APPOINTMENT SHOULD BE SCHEDULED TO HAVE THE VEHICLE DIAGNOSED, WHICH WAS STILL PENDING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 120,000.
