MY 2013 CHEVY MALIBU CAM POSITIONING ACTUATOR CAUSED MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT TO COME ON. WHEN I HAD THE CODE READ, THEY SAID THAT THE SENSOR WAS THROWING THE CODE. MY CAR JUST WENT OUT OF DEALERSHIP WARRANTY WITH 52,XXX MILES ON IT. IS THIS COVERED BY GM RECALL?

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ELECTRONIC CLIMATE CONTROL SOFTWARE WAS DEFECTIVE AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 13V567000 (VISIBILITY). THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 120,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER AND THE CONTACT WAS WAITING ON THE DIAGNOSTIC RESULTS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 64,000. THE VIN WAS NOT PROVIDED.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE HOWEVER NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE WAS OFFERED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 82,000.
THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND I TOOK IT IN TO GET CHECKED. BY THE TIME I ARRIVED TO THE DEALERSHIP, EVERYTHING WAS FINE. A WEEK LATER MY WIFE WAS IN THE OUTSIDE WALGREENS LINE WITH HER FOOT ON THE BRAKE AND THE CAR RADIO SCREEN TURNED OF AND THE CAR STARTED TO JUMP A LITTLE. THE CAR RADIO SCREEN TURNED BACK ON AND EVERYTHING WAS BACK TO NORMAL. ABOUT 20 MINUTES LATER SHE WAS AT A STOP LIGHT AND THE EXACT SAME THING HAPPENED. LUCKILY SHE HAD HER FOOT ON THE BREAK AND WAS NOT GOING ANY RATE OF SPEED. I HAVE READ ALMOST ABOUT 100 COMPLAINTS NOW OF A SIMILAR PROBLEM BUT MOST OF THE COMPLAINTS IT HAPPENED WHEN THEY WERE DRIVING AT A CONSIDERABLE SPEED WHERE THE RADIO DASH TURNED OF AND THEY LOSE POWER TO THE CAR FOR A SECOND OR SO. THIS COULD BE A MAJOR ISSUE AND IT NEEDS TO BE INVESTIGATED BEFORE THERE ARE ANY DEATHS. *TR
WHILE DRIVING AND GOING TO CHANGE LANES, I TURN ON MY TURN SIGNAL TO CHANGE LANES AND THE POWER STEERING STOPS WORKING, THE DASH GAUGES FLICKER AND THE RADIO CUTS OUT AND SOMETIMES THE MOTOR CUTS OFF. THIS ALSO OCCURS WHEN SITTING STILL, THE STEERING WHEEL WILL BOUNCE IF TURNING ONE DIRECTION OR THE OTHER. I HAVE SEEN MANY OF THESE COMPLAINTS ONLINE AND NO RESOLUTION. THIS ALSO HAPPENS WHILE TURNING. THIS HAPPENS EVERY DAY.
WHILE DRIVING HOME MY INSTRUMENT PANEL LITE UP AND RADIO STARTED PLAYING FOR ABOUT 10 MINUTES THEN CLEARED AND THE SERVICE AIR BAG CAME ON.... HAVE AN APPOINTMENT WITH CHEVROLET DEALERSHIP FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 CHEVROLET MALIBU. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH, THE FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE WINDOWS FOGGED UP WITHOUT WARNING AND COULD NOT BE DEFROSTED. THE VEHICLE WAS DIAGNOSED BY THE DEALER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 90,000.
TURNING LEFT INTO MY DRIVEWAY, (LUCKILY NOT GOING VERY FAST) THE POWER STEERING GOES OUT SEVERAL TIMES IN A ROW AND THEN THE SCREEN PROMPTED TO "SERVICE POWER STEERING". CHECKED FLUID LEVEL AND IT WAS FINE. READ THAT THERE ARE A LOT OF OTHERS WITH THIS SAME PROBLEM. MY CHILDREN COULD GET HURT! AND I PAID TOO MUCH MONEY FOR THIS CAR TO BE UNABLE TO DRIVE IT AND FEEL GOOD ABOUT IT! SMH!!
THE EXHAUST AND POWER HAVE ISSUES...CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS ALWAYS ON AND POWER TO SYSTEM IS REDUCED. FUEL ECONOMY HAS DECREASED SEVERELY. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WILL NOT GO OFF. EXHAUST COMING FROM TAILPIPE EVEN AFTER CAR HAS BEEN RUNNING AWHILE. THIS ISSUE HAPPENS WHEN THE VEHICLE IS RUNNING AND OPERATING. SECOND ISSUE IS THE TRUNK LATCH! THE VEHICLE HAS AN OUTSIDE TRUNK RELEASE BUTTON. WHEN VEHICLE IS COMPLETELY LOCKED, THE TRUNK WILL OPEN ON IT'S OWN! WE WILL COME OUT TO THE CAR WITH THE TRUNK WIDE OPEN WHEN WE KNOW WE HAVE LOCKED IT COMPLETELY. CHECKED, DOUBLE CHECKED, EVEN TRIPLE CHECKED BUT WE WILL STILL COME OUT TO A VEHICLE WITH THE TRUNK WIDE OPEN! THIS TRUNK OPENING ISSUE HAPPENS WHEN THE CAR IS PARKED AND OFF BUT, LOCKED!
MY MALIBU STARTED MAKING A STRANGE NOISE SHORTLY AFTER I PASSED THE 40000 MILE MARK BACK IN LATE NOVEMBER OF 2016. I THOUGHT IT MIGHT BE TIRES AS THEY WERE ORIGINAL TO THE VEHICLE SO I REPLACED ALL 4 BUT THE NOISE WAS STILL THERE. I THEN WENT ON LINE TO INVESTIGATE IF OTHER MALIBU OWNERS WERE HAVING SIMILAR PROBLEMS. I DISCOVERED THAT THERE WERE MULTIPLE CASES LIKE MINE THAT INVOLVED THE WHEEL HUB ASSEMBLY FAILING ON THIS PARTICULAR VEHICLE. I PURCHASED TWO NEW REAR WHEEL ASSEMBLY'S AND INSTALLED THEM WHICH TOOK CARE OF THE PROBLEM. EVEN THE PERSON AT THE AUTO PARTS STORE SHARED WITH ME THAT HE HAD REPLACED 3 ON HIS FATHERS MALIBU. I HAVE NEVER HAD A WHEEL HUB ASSEMBLY FAIL ON ANY VEHICLE I HAVE OWNED LET ALONE ONE WITH LESS THAN 41000 MILES ON IT. IF I HAD NOT REPLACED THE PARTS WHEN I DID I DO NOT KNOW WHAT THE CONSEQUENCE MIGHT HAVE BEEN WHEN THE PARTS FAILED COMPLETELY. I DO HAVE THE PARTS REMOVED FROM THE VEHICLE IF NEEDED.
BURNING SMELL,SMOKE, BATTERY/CHECK ENGINE LIGHT, RUNS ROUGH
WHILE DRIVING STRAIGHT AHEAD ON A CITY STREET, AT APPROXIMATELY 30-35MPH, THE AXLE SHAFT ON THE FRONT, RIGHT SIDE OF THE CAR BROKE. THE BROKEN AXLE SHAFT CAUSED AN ACCIDENT WHERE MY CAR WENT TO THE RIGHT AND I HIT THE BACK-LEFT SIDE OF A VAN; THAT IMPACT SENT THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE CAR UP IN THE AIR WHERE I WAS ONLY TRAVELING ON THE TWO LEFT WHEELS. ALTHOUGH I THOUGHT MY CAR WAS GOING TO FLIP AND LAND ON IT'S ROOF, THE CAR DID COME BACK DOWN ON THE RIGHT WHEELS, BUT LANDED/HIT THE FRONT OF THE VAN AND THE BACK OF A PICK-UP TRUCK. *TR
WINDOW TRIM THAT RUNS AROUND TOP POPS OFF AROUND ALL WINDOWS, STAYED WITH THE REAR DRIVER WINDOW, THEN PASSENGER FRONT
MY 2013 MALIBU KEEPS HAVING POWER STEERING FAILURE. THE POWER STEERING LIGHT FLASHED AND STAYED ON. AT THE SAME TIME IT LOCK THE STEERING WHEEL WHILE DRIVING. I SEE THIS IS A MAJOR PROBLEM HAPPENING WITH THE MALIBU 2013 MODELS AND OWNERS HAVE BEEN COMPLAINING ABOUT THIS DEFECT TO THE DEALERS. NOT SURE IF THERE HAS BEEN ANY RECALLS ON THIS; HOWEVER, THE DEFECTS ARE CAUSING PEOPLE DRIVING THE MALIBU TO HAVE ACCIDENTS BECAUSE THE POWER STEERING LOCKS AS SOON AS THE POWER STEERING LIGHT IS DISPLAYED. THE CAR ALSO SEEMS TO STALL A BIT WHEN THE LIGHT COMES ON. THE WHEELS ARE LOCKED AND I CANNOT TURN THE WHEELS AT ALL UNTIL IT UNLOCKS ON ITS OWN. *TR
RIGHT REAR WHEEL HUB FAILURE MILEAGE 46,937
WHILE DRIVING MY VEHICLE AND I COME TO A STOP THE ENGINE DIES OUT. THERE IS NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT OR WARNING BEFORE THIS HAPPENS AND IT HAS ALMOST CAUSED AN ACCIDENT 3 TIMES NOW. EVEN IN STOP AND GO RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC, AS SOON AS I NEED TO SLOW DOWN THE CAR STUTTERS AND THEN STALLS. ALL THE LIGHTS AND RADIO STAY ON BUT THE ENGINE JUST SHUTS OFF. I HAVE TO QUICKLY THROW IT INTO, PARK TURN THE KEY TO OFF AND RESTART THE CAR EVERYTIME. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR A COUPLE OF YEARS AND I JUST DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO ANYMORE. I AM NOT ABLE TO TRADE IT IN YET AND I AM AFRAID TO SELL IT AND THIS HAPPEN TO SOMEONE ELSE.
SEVERAL TIMES NOW THE CAR RADIO AND ELECTRICAL HAS JUST SHUT OFF . SHORTLY THERE AFTER --- THE STEERING LOCKED UP WHILE DRIVING. SUCH THAT THERE WAS AN INABILITY TO MAINTAIN CONTROL, AND THE STEERING WHEEL WAS UNABLE TO BE MOVED AT ALL. THIS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES. THIS VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED FOR MY DAUGHTER AND MY GRANDCHILDREN. THUS SAFETY IS A MAJOR CONCERN. IF INDEED MY DAUGHTER WERE TO HAVE BEEN IN A BUSY INTERSECTION WHEN THIS HAPPENED TODAY, SHE OR MY GRANDCHILDREN COULD HAVE EASILY BEEN KILLED. CHEVROLET DEALER REFUSE TO DO ANYTHING WITHOUT A RECALL AND HAVE SAID THAT THE DIAGNOSTIC WOULD BE $100.00 TO PERFORM. IN MY 30 YEARS OF DRIVING EXPERIENCE AND MY HUSBANDS 22 YEARS OF ACTIVE DUTY ARMY SERVICE AND MANY MECHANICAL FIXES THAT WE HAVE DONE TO NUMEROUS VEHICLES WE HAVE NEVER SEEN SOMETHING AS DANGEROUS THAT A MANUFACTURER WOULD REFUSE TO RECALL. THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE AND GOD FORBID ANYTHING HAPPENS TO MY DAUGHTER OR MY GRANDCHILDREN THERE IS NOW DOCUMENTATION TO REQUEST CHEVROLET FIX THE PROBLEM, AS I WILL BE SURE TO HOLD THEM ACCOUNTABLE FOR THEIR NEGLIGENCE. WE HAVE MAINTAINED PROPER MAINTENANCE, THERE ARE NO FAULT CODES THAT HAVE COME UP THAT WILL INDICATE AN ISSUE THAT WOULD CAUSE THE STEERING TO JUST LOCK UP STRAIGHT. WE HAD THE BATTERY CHECKED, THE BATTERY TERMINALS CHECKED AND WE KEEP TRYING TO NARROW DOWN THE CAUSE. BUT WE ARE NOW AT AN IMPASSE AND THIS IS MOST CERTAINLY A MANUFACTURER'S DEFECT. THIS IS AN ISSUE THAT WE HAVE FOUND ON MULTIPLE FORUMS IN COMMON WITH OTHER OWNERS. VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION, MID TURN, CITY STREET, AND UNABLE TO MAKE THE TURN . WOULD HAVE CRASHED HAD BEEN GOING FASTER, OR HAD OTHER CARS BEEN COMING . *TR
USED SWITCH TO ROLL DOWN PASSENGER WINDOW, TOUCH SCREEN WENT BLACK, CAME BACK ON MAYBE AFTER 30 SEC OR SO. WHILE DRIVING TOUCH SCREEN OCC BLACK OUT, ALL ELECTRONIC GO OUT , NO TURN SIGNAL, NO DIGITAL SPEED, POWER STEERING. AFTER FUELING WENT TO START CAR, IT WOULDN'T START, NO LIGHTS NO POWER AT ALL, DID THIS THREE TIMES IN ONE DAY. I HADN'T HAD CAR THIRTY DAYS. *TR
I WAS DRIVING MY 2013 CHEVY, MALIBU WITH 46,901 MILES AT 80MPH ON THE INTERSTATE WHEN MY CAR STARTED LOOSING POWER AND BECAME UNEASY TO DRIVE. THE ENGINE SERVICE LIGHT, STABILITY TRACK LIGHT, AND ENGINE POWER IS REDUCED WAS ILLUMINATED ON THE DASHBOARD. PRIOR TO THIS INCIDENCE, MY ENGINE AND STABILITY TRACK LIGHTING WOULD COME ON AT RANDOM MAKING THE CAR DIFFICULTY TO DRIVE. I WOULD TAKE THE CAR BACK TO THE CHEVROLET DEALERSHIP ONLY TO BE TOLD THAT THE TECH COULD NOT REPLICATE/DUPLICATE THE ENGINE LIGHT/STABILITY TRACK COMING. THE DEALERSHIP HAD ME TO PURCHASE A NEW BATTERY AND CHANGE SPARK PLUGS, BUT ENGINE LIGHT/STABILITY TRACK CONTINUED TO COME ON AT RANDOM. DEALERSHIP ADVISED THAT THEY COULD NOT FIX ANYTHING THAT COULD NOT BE REPLICATED/DUPLICATED. *TR
HEATING INOPERABLE WITHOUT WARNING, DEFROST UNABLE TO OPERATE, HAPPENED AFTER RECEIVING AN OIL CHANGE AT A CERTIFIED GM DEALER. WORKED FINE AS I ENTERED THE DEALERSHIP.

IN ADDITION, THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED AND BATTERY CHARGE, STABILITY TRACK, AND SERVICE POWER STEERING WARNING MESSAGES APPEARED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL DISPLAY. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE FAILURES OCCURRED ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER, BUT THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DETERMINED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 61,212.

THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE KEY DID NOT COME OUT OF THE IGNITION AND THE GEAR SHIFTER WOULD NOT SHIFT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. I HAVE HAD PROBLEMS WITH THIS CAR SINCE I BOUGHT IT, LOSS OF BATTERY LIFE, HAD IT TO MULTIPLE DEALERSHIPS, NOBODY CAN FIGURE OUT THE PROBLEM, NOTICED A BURNING SMELL AT ONE TIME, THE TRUNK HAS A TERRIBLE REALLY WEIRD SMELL, I STILL OWE A LOT ON THIS CAR AND DON'T HAVE THE MONEY TO FIX IT OR GET ANOTHER ONE, ONLY HAD APPROX. 50,000 MILES WHEN IT FIRST STARTED HAVING PROBLEMS, CALLED GM, DEALSHIP REPLACED BATTERY, SAME THING KEEPS HAPPENING, WHEN I'M DRIVING AT NIGHT AND THE BATTERY CHARGE IS LOW MY HEADLIGHTS GO EXTREMELY DIM VERY QUICKLY, THIS CAR IS VERY DANGEROUS AND HAS LEFT ME STRANDED ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS. THE CAR WILL JUST DIE RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC WITH NO WARNING, COMPLETELY DEAD,
MY CHEVY MALIBU HAS BEEN EXPERIENCING INTERMITTENT ELECTRICAL ISSUES. IT STARTED AFTER MY CAR DIED AT THE END OF AN HOUR'S DRIVE. I THOUGHT I WAS EXPERIENCING BATTERY ISSUES BUT PERSISTED MONTHS WITH NO OTHER ISSUES. IT HAPPENED AGAIN 4 MONTHS LATER (DECEMBER 3RD), AND THE FOLLOWING DAY THE CAR COMPLETELY DIED ON ME WHILE TRAVELING HIGHWAY SPEEDS DURING A SNOW STORM. MY POWER STEERING WAS BARELY OPERABLE, WHILE MY LIGHTS HEAT AND RADIO COMPLETELY STOPPED FUNCTIONING. THE DEALERSHIPS SEEM TO BE CLULESS ABOUT THE ISSUE. THE ONE I VISITED SEEMED ADAMANT THAT THE ISSUE COULD BE STEMMING FROM MY KEY! CHEVY HAS BEEN HELPFUL ONLY IN THE SENSE THAT THEY GAVE ME A $100 CREDIT TO GET THE CAR DIAGNOSED (WHICH HASN'T GIVEN ANY RESULTS). I'VE SEEN SOME OF THE HORROR STORIES FROM THIS ISSUE AND AM TERRIFIED TO DRIVE THIS VEHICLE AGAIN UNTIL SOMETHING IS FIXED.
MY HUB ASSEMBLY BROKE CAUSING AN ELECTRICAL ISSUE AND CAUSED THE AIR BAG MODULE TO GO BAD. AIR BAG LIGHT REMAINS ON

I WAS DRIVING TO WORK GOING ABOUT 45 TO 50 MILES PER HOUR ON THE HIGHWAY, THEN MY VEHICLE STALLED, VIBRATED, AND WOULDN'T GO PAST 30 MPH. REDUCED ENGINE POWER SIGNAL CAME ON AND TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT AND ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. I THEN EXITED ONTO THE FEEDER AND COASTED TO WORK.
FIRST MY DASH CLUSTER WENT OUT NOTHING WORK HAD A NEW ONE PUT IN AFTER ABOUT TWO WEEK IT WENT OUT AGAIN HAD IT AT THE DEALER THEY DON'T KNOW WHY. SO I DID NOT REPLACE IT THIS TIME BECAUSE I DON'T KNOW IF IT WELL HAPPEN AGAIN THE COST TO REPLACE IS ON ME. NOW I'M HAVING MOTOR IS HAVING A OIL LEAK BAD FOUND OUT WHY THE VALEVTRAIN OIL CONTROL PASSAGES INTEGRATED HAS COME APART AND THEY WILL NOT COVER IT ON WARRANTY SAID THAT I DID NOT CHANGE THE OIL WHEN IT CAME TIME TO DO I HAVE IT CHANGE ALL THE TIME AT THE DEALER WHEN IT COME TIME WHEN LIGHT COME ON TO TELL ME. THIS IS HIGH DOLLAR TO PAID FOR IT AS THEY SAID TOP OF THE MOTOR HAS TO BE TAKEN APART. AND THEY WOULD NOT LET GM KNOW OF THIS. *TR
REAR WINDOW GLASS IS DEFECTIVE. FROM THE MIDDLE OF THE GLASS DOWN AND ALL THE WAY ACROSS THE GLASS (LINE OF VIEW). DISTORTS THE VIEW WHEN LOOKING OUT OF THE GLASS, POSING A SAFETY CONCERN. THIS IS THE 3RD GLASS PUT IN MY CAR AND IT IS STILL VERY BAD. VIEW LOOKING OUT THE BACK WINDOW GIVES THE APPEARANCE THAT THE DRIVER IS INTOXICATED. ORIGINAL GLASS WAS FINE BUT THERE WAS AN ISSUE WITH THE METAL PART WHICH WAS GOING TO CAUSE THE REAR DEFROST TO STOP WORKING. THE GLASS THAT WAS REPLACED ON 11/4/16 HAD THE SAME DISTORTING AS THE GLASS THAT WAS REPLACED ON 11/18/16. MAKES LOOKING OUT THE BACK WINDOW TO BACK UP UNSAFE. THE DEALER CURRENTLY STILL HAS 2 OF THE 3 BACK WINDOWS ON HAND FROM THE VEHICLE.
2013 CHEVROLET MALIBU (LT) HAS BEEN EXPERIENCING SERVE ELECTRICAL ISSUES. THIS HIGHLY DANGEROUS DEFECT I HAVE BEEN EXPERIENCING AS WELL YET THERE IS NO RECALL! FIRST THE MY LINK/NAVIGATION/RADIO MODULE WOULD SHUT OFF AND COME BACK ON. WHILE THIS OCCURS, THE BATTERY VOLTAGE WOULD JUMP DOWN THEN JUMP BACK UP. I CALLED CHEVY/GMC AND THEY RECOMMENDED TO SHUT THE CAR OFF, REMOVE THE KEY, OPEN THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR SO THE COMPUTER CAN RESET ITSELF. IT CONTINUED TO HAPPY THROUGH THE COURSE OF COUPLE HOURS THEN FINALLY STOPPED AND WAS WORKING FROM OVER THE COURSE OF 4 DAYS. AS OF YESTERDAY THE VEHICLE COMPLETELY SHUT OFF, ENTIRE TOUCHSCREEN MODULE SHUT OFF, AND TURNED BACK ON IN A SPLIT SECOND. ONCE THE CAR TURNED ON, THE STEERING WHEEL WAS COMPLETELY TIGHT, ALMOST LOCKED, AND WE WOULD BARELY TURN INTO OUR DRIVEWAY WHILE IN MOTION ON A 25PM STREET. THANK GOD I WAS NOT COMING OFF A HIGHWAY OR DRIVING FAST LIKE REPORTS OF THIS ISSUE LIKE OTHER CONSUMERS BUT THIS IS DANGEROUS. I AM TERRIFIED OF THIS VEHICLE AND WILL BE TAKING IT TO CHEVY. THERE ARE OVER A HUNDRED COMPLAINTS AND VIDEOS I SAW AFTER I LOOKED UP IF THIS ISSUE WAS COMMON, WHICH IT APPEARS TO BE, ONLINE. THIS ISSUE NEEDS TO BE ON THE RECALL LIST BECAUSE THIS CAN CAUSE ACCIDENTS AND SOMEONE CAN GET SERIOUSLY INJURED.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO ANOTHER DEALER (PAT O'BRIEN CHEVROLET SOUTH, 3880 PEARL RD, MEDINA, OH 44256) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ALTERNATOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE FAILURE OCCURRED AGAIN AFTER THE REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AT 866-790-3600 AND STATED THAT THEY WERE UNAWARE OF THE ISSUE AND THE CONTACT WOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR THE REPAIRS. RADIO, INTERIOR LIGHTS, AND POWER STEERING STOPS WORKING WHEN I TURN ON MY SIGNAL LIGHTS OR SOMETIMES WHEN I'M JUST RIDING. IT SEEMS TO ALWAYS HAPPEN WHEN I'M GOING AT SPEEDS 40MPH AND ABOVE. THEN, I WAS DRIVING AND WENT TO MAKE A LEFT TURN, THE RADIO POWER WENT OFF AS WELL AS THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKED UP, AGAIN ONLY FOR A FEW SECONDS. NOW, WHEN IT HAPPENS (IT'S HAPPENING MORE FREQUENTLY), THE HEADLIGHTS AND DASH LIGHTS FLICKER AS WELL AS THE RADIO POWER SHUTS OFF AND THE STEERING LOCKS UP. IT ALL ONLY LASTS AROUND 4-5 SECONDS, BUT CAN BE VERY DANGEROUS AT THE WRONG TIME. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER WHO COULD NOT REPRODUCE THE PROBLEM, IN WHICH I EXPLAINED IT'S SPORADIC AND UNPREDICTABLE. THIS IS BECOMING A SAFETY ISSUE AND MORE FRIGHTENING THAT DEALERSHIPS ARE UNAWARE OF THE ISSUE OR HOW TO FIX IT. GM REALLY NEEDS TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS BEFORE IT CAUSES A SERIOUS ACCIDENT. *TR
CAR RANDOMLY LOSSES POWER AT ANY SPEED. DURING THIS TIME, I AM UNABLE TO CONTROL THE CAR. THE POWER STEERING IS OFF. THIS HAPPENED TO MY WIFE AS SHE MADE A LEFT TURN ON A GREEN LIGHT ON BELL ROAD, AZ (A BUSY ROAD). THERE IS NO WAY THAT THIS SHOULD BE TAKEN LIGHTLY.

WHEN DRIVING, SPECIFICALLY AT NIGHT, ALL LIGHTS FLICKER OFF, WHILE DRIVING OR SITTING IDLE. ALSO WHEN I PUT ON THE TURN SIGNAL, OR JUST MAKE A TURN, STOP, ACCELERATE. TWICE THE CAR HAS TURNED OFF, ALL THE LIGHTS GO OUT, THEN THEY COME BACK ON, BUT OF COURSE THE CAR IS STILL OFF. LUCKILY THE FIRST TIME IT HAPPENED IN MY DRIVEWAY. THE SECOND TIME, HOWEVER, I WAS ON THE ROAD, WITH MY KID IN THE CAR. WE WERE AT A RED LIGHT AND THE WHOLE CAR TURNED OFF. THE LIGHTS CAME BACK ON BUT I HAD TO TURN THE CAR BACK ON. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE AT A STEADY 20 MPH TO HEISER CHEVROLET LOCATED AT 2620 W WASHINGTON ST, WEST BEND, WI 53095 WHERE THE VEHICLE REMAINED IN THEIR POSSESSION AND PROVIDED A LOANER VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED ABOUT THE FAILURE AND FILED A CASE WITH THE MANUFACTURER, THE CONTACT HAD YET TO HEAR BACK FROM THE MANUFACTURER. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 50,000.
