ABS LIGHT ILLUMINATED. VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHICH STATED THAT VEHICLE NEEDED A NEW ABS VALVE AND MODULE. *AK *TS
WHILE DRIVING 10 MPH THE ABS LIGHT ILLUMINATED ON THE DASHBOARD. WHEN THE CONSUMER ATTEMPTED TO APPLY THE BRAKES, THEY DID NOT RESPOND. *JB
LTR FM AUDREY WISSINGER (PA) CONCERNED ABOUT THE PROBLEMS SHE EXPERIENCED WITH HER 2000 CHEVROLET SILVERADO PICKUP TRUCK.*MR BOTH FRONT/REAR ROTORS HAD TO BE REPLACED. THE OLD BRAKE LININGS WERE REPLACED WITH NEW ONES. THE ROTORS WERE LITERALLY FALLING APART-INFERIOR METAL. DEALER STATED THIS WAS THE RESULT OF THE VEHICLE NOT BEING DRIVEN ENOUGH. THERE WAS A TERRIBLE "KLUNCKING" SOUND IN THE REAR END OR DRIVE SHAFT. THIS HAPPENED IN A DOWNSHIFT OR UPSHIFT. THE DEALER STATED IT WAS NORMAL PLAY IN THE DRIVETRAIN. ALL FOUR WHEELS HAD TO BE REPLACED AT 6000 MILES BECAUSE THEY WERE RUSTED. TAILGATE STRAP BROKE AT 17000 MILES. WHEN THE 4-WHEEL DRIVE WAS ENGAGED, IT MADE A TERRIBLE GROWLING THAT DIDN'T SEEM NORMAL. *PH *JB
WHEN APPLYING THE BRAKES, THE VEHICLE'S BRAKE PEDAL VIBRATES AND GOES TO THE FLOOR. THE DRIVER HAS TO WAIT FOR BRAKE PEDAL TO LIFT BACK UP THEN PRESS AGAIN TO STOP. DEALER IS NOT ABLE TO DUPLICATE. PLEASE DESCRIBE FURTHER.
WHEN THE ABS SYSTEM IS ENGAGED VEHICLE EXPERIENCES EXTENDED STOPPING DISTANCE. DEALER REPLACED ABS SENSORS, BUT THE PROBLEM STILL OCCURRED. *AK
CONSUMER CALLED COMPLAINING ABOUT STALLING PROBLEMS. VEHICLE WOULD SHUT DOWN ON THE HIGHWAY WHEN DRIVING OVER 42 MPH OR EVEN WHEN STANDING AT A RED LIGHT. MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED AT THE TIME OF THIS CALL.*AK
WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS BEING SERVICED FOR REGULAR MAINTENANCE, THE MECHANIC NOTICED THE ROTORS ON THE VEHICLE WERE RUSTED AND PITTED, ALL 4 FOUR ROTORS WERE REPLACED. *JB *TS *JB
WHILE HAVING VEHICLE SERVICED TECHNICIAN NOTICED CRACKS BETWEEN ALL FOUR TIRE TREADS. *AK
WHEN THE BRAKES WERE APPLIED, THE VEHICLE EXPERIENCED EXTENDED STOPPING DISTANCE. *AK THE CONSUMER HAD THE ABS SENSORS CLEANED BUT IT WAS TOO EARLY TO SEE IF THE PROBLEM WAS CORRECTED. *PH *JB
THERE WERE POWER STEERING PUMP PROBLEMS WHICH AFFECTED THE BRAKES. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND STATED THAT THEY DID NOT KNOW WHY THIS OCCURRED. *AK THE POWER STEERING AND THE BRAKES KEPT GOING OUT. THE PROBLEM OCCURRED WHEN AN EMPLOYEE HAD DRIVEN THE VEHICLE. *SCC *JB
WHILE PRESSING THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL THE VEHICLE INITIALLY HESITATED BEFORE IT TOOK OFF SUDDENLY. ONCE THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS RELEASED THE VEHICLE TO JERKED FORWARD. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE HAS NOT BEEN DETERMINE. *NLJM
ABS LIGHT ILLUMINATED AND VEHICLE STARTED TO EXPERIENCE EXTENDED STOPPING DISTANCE WHEN TRYING TO STOP VEHICLE. DEALER DETERMINED THAT THE ELECTRONIC BRAKE CONTROL MODULE FAILED AND SHOULD BE REPLACED. *AK
DRIVER PRESSED THE HORN ,AND IT DID NOT WORK. DRIVER TOOK VEHICLE TO THE DEALER FOR ANALYSIS. MECHANIC TOLD HIM THAT HORN HAD TO BE REPLACED. *AK
AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY WHEN VEHICLE STRUCK A TREE HEAD ON. VEHICLE WAS TRAVELING AT 40 MPH. DRIVER WAS INJURED. *AK
THE POSITIVE POST BROKE OFF THE DELCO BATTERY WHICH CAME WITH THE VEHICLE WHEN IT WAS PURCHASED NEW FROM THE DEALERSHIP. DEALERSHIP WHICH SOLD THE VEHICLE REFUSED TO HONOR THE WARRANTY WHICH CAME WITH THE BATTERY. *AK
WHEN APPLYING THE BRAKES BRAKE PEDAL WENT DOWN TO THE FLOOR, AND THE VEHICLE EXPERIENCED EXTENDED STOPPING DISTANCE. THE DEALER INFORMED THE CONSUMER THAT THE PROBLEM WAS WITH THE ANTILOCK BRAKING SYSTEM, BUT DID NOT SPECIFY THE COMPONENTS THAT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. ALSO, THE VEHICLE WAS ONLY USING THE FRONT BRAKES FOR A PERIOD OF TIME BECAUSE THE REAR BRAKES STOPPED OPERATING. THE REAR BRAKES WERE REPLACED. *AK
WHEN THE WAS IN REVERSE ON AN INCLINE, THE FRONT TIRES LOCKED UP AND THE BACK TIRES FAILED TO FUNCTION, WHICH MADE IT DIFFICULT TO STEER. *JB THE BRAKES ONLY LASTED ABOUT 7-8 THOUSAND MILES. THE BRAKES DIDN'T PERFORM VERY WELL AND THEY LOCKED UP WHILE DRIVING DOWN DIRT ROADS. *NLM
VEHICLE BOUNCED UP AND DOWN ON THE ROAD AT HIGH SPEEDS. CONSUMER TOOK VEHICLE TO THE DEALER, WHERE MECHANIC INDICATED THAT IT WAS NOT THE SUSPENSION. *AK
VEHICLE IS EXPERIENCING A PROBLEM WITH THE ABS BRAKES INDICATOR ON THE DASHBOARD. THE ABS LIGHT WILL NOT GO OUT. OWNER TOOK VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP WHO DESCRIBED THE PROBLEM AS AN ABS BREAK PRESSURE MODULE VALVE ASSEMBLY. THIS DEFECT IS PRESENTLY BEING RE-CALLED. HOWEVER, THE VIN# FOR THIS VEHICLE IS INELIGIBLE BUT THE DIAGNOSIS IS SIMILAR TO THOSE WHO ARE ELIGIBLE. *PH
UPON STARTING VEHICLE THERE IS A KNOCKING NOISE IN THE FRONT END THAT STOPS AFTER 3 MINUTES. TOOK VEHICLE TO DEALER, AND DEALER STATED IT WAS NORMAL. ALSO, PARKING BRAKE PROBLEM. *AK THE VEHICLE HAD A KNOCKING NOISE COMING FROM THE ENGINE AS WELL AS A PROBLEM WITH THE PARKING BRAKE. *MR *NM
CONSUMER COMPLAINED ABOUT ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS WITH HEADLIGHTS MALFUNCTIONING. *AK
THE TRUCK EXPERIENCED A FAILURE IN THE STEERING COLUMN WHICH ONLY ALLOWED THE STEERING WHEEL TO TURN RIGHT. PLEASE PROVIDE FURTHER DETAILS. *JB
WHILE DRIVING VEHICLE SLAMS HARD INTO GEAR. ENGINE CHECK LIGHT EITHER COMES ON BEFORE OR AFTER THIS OCCURS. DEALERSHIP SERVICED VEHICLE 4 TIMES BUT THE PROBLEM STILL EXISTS. *AK
WHEN BRAKING AT 10 TO 15 MPH BRAKE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR. DRIVER HAD TO JAM THE PEDAL TO THE FLOOR TO STOP THE VEHICLE. DEALER REPLACED ROTORS AND PADS. *AK
THE STEERING SHAFT BROKE WHILE DRIVING, WHICH RESULTED IN LOST OF POWER STEERING AND BRAKES. *JB *NM
ABS OCCASIONALLY FAILED DUE TO WATER, DIRT, AND RUST GETTING IN THE SENSORS. *LA CONSUMER ALSO COMPLAINED OF THE ENGINE KNOCKING. HE WAS THEN INFORMED THAT THE CAUSE WAS CARBON AND THE AMOUNT OF CLEARANCE BETWEEN THE PISTONS AND THE CYLINDER WALL. THEY REDESIGNED THE PISTONS FOR THAT REASON. *PH
VEHICLE IS EXPERIENCING PROBLEMS WITH ENGINE MAKING A KNOCKING NOISE AND THE BRAKE SYSTEM MALFUNCTIONING. *LA *MR
THE ANTILOCK BRAKING SYSTEM BEGAN TO PULSATE WHEN BRAKING AT 5 MPH AND AS A RESULT THE VEHICLE DID NOT STOP. THE FRONT HUBS WERE FOUND TO BE THE CAUSE AND WERE REPLACED. *NM *SC
RIGHT TAILGATE CABLE BROKE. *LA THE CONSUMER HAD TO REPLACE THE CABLE AT HIS OWN EXPENSE. *JB
CONSUMER STATES VEHICLE PULLS TO THE RIGHT AND LEFT WHEN BRAKING, IN ADDITION, THERE WAS A RATTLE NOISE IN THE LEFT FRONT END WHEN GOING OVER BUMPS. *LA THE LEFT REAR TAIL LIGHT BULB WAS INOPERATIVE. THE LEFT FRONT WHEEL COVER CAME OFF. THE TAIL PIPE MADE A RATTLE NOISE, THE DEALER REPLACED THE TAIL PIPE. THE FOG LIGHT BULB WAS INOPERATIVE. THE FRONT BRAKES MADE A GRINDING NOISE WHEN THEY WERE APPLIED. THE AIR CONDITION WAS NOT COOLING PROPERLY. THE WOOD TRIM ON THE DASH WAS LOOSE. THE RIGHT REAR AXLE SEAL LEAKED. THE PLASTIC COMPARTMENT ABOVE THE GLOVE BOX WAS CRACKED. THE BASE OF THE WINDSHIELD WAS CRACKED. *JB
WHEN MAKING A RIGHT TURN ONLY, THE STEERING WHEEL DROPPED FROM A 15 DEGREE TURN TO 45 DEGREES. THE DEALERSHIP INDICATED THIS WAS CAUSED BY A FAILURE IN THE STEERING SPEED SENSOR. *JB
THE ANTI-LOCK BRAKING SYSTEM (ABS) STOPPED WORKING. *LA A RECALL (00V-055000) WAS ISSUED FOR THIS MAKE/MODEL/YEAR, HOWEVER THE CONSUMERS VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED DUE TO VIN. *NM
WHILE DRIVING 5 MPH THE RIGHT FRONT OF THE VEHICLE COLLASPED. THE TIE ROD AND BALL JOINT FAILED. *AK *JB
WHILE PLACING THE LAWN MOWER ON THE VEHICLE'S TAILGATE. THE VEHICLES TAILGATE CABLES BROKE. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN TAKEN TO THE DEALER. PLEASE PROVIDE FURTHER DETAILS. *NM
CONSUMER HAD THE TAILGATE DOWN WHEN LOADING UP. CONSUMER CLIMBED ONTO THE TAILGATE AND IT BROKE. BOTH CABLES POPPED ON EACH SIDE. *AK TAILGATE HAS NO SIGN OF WEAR WHEN IT BROKE DOWN. CONSUMER FOUND OUT OF A RECALL REGARDING TAILGATE (NHTSA RECALL NO. 04V-129), BUT WHEN CALLING CHEVROLET THEY SAID THAT CONSUMER'S VIN IS NOT PART OF THE RECALL. EVEN THOUGH CONSUMER EXPERIENCED PROBLEMS SAME AS STATED ON THE RECALL. *LA
THE FUEL GAUGE DID NOT REGISTER THE CORRECT AMOUNT OF GAS IN THE FUEL TANK. WHEN COMING TO A COMPLETE STOP THE GAUGE WENT TO ZERO. *AK *SC *JB
AFTER STARTING THE VEHICLE, THE ACCELERATOR BECAME STUCK, WHICH CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO LURCH FORWARD, OR BACKWARDS FROM PARKING SPACES. *AK *SC *JB
CONSUMER EXPERIENCED THE SAME DEFECT WITH THE ABS AS STATED IN THE RECALL, BUT WAS EXEMPT. *PH THE ANTI-LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM STOPPED WORKING. *SC *JB
THE CONSUMER NOTICE THAT THE PASSENGER SEAT BELT WOULD NOT RETRACT. THE CONSUMER DROVE THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION. THE MECHANIC INFORMED THE DRIVER THAT THE SEAT BELT RETRACTOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED DUE TO WORN PARTS. PLEASE PROVIDE ANY ADDITIONAL INFORMATION. *NM
