WHILE I WAS DRIVING MY VEHICLE THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG BLEW UP. AFTER THE RESIDUAL TRAMA WORE OFF, I IMMEDIATELY HEADED TO THE DEALERSHIP. WHILE ON THE WAY (ABOUT 5 MINUTES LATE) THE DRIVERS SIDE BLEW UP IN MY FACE. I MADE IT TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE THEY HAD TO UNLOCK THE SEAT BELT THAT WAS CINCHING ME IN. TO MAKE A LONG STORY SHORT, THEY REPLACED THE AIRBAG AND WERE GOING TO CHARGE ME FOR THE NEW SEAT BELT. BUT AFTER SOME HAGGLING THEY COVERED THAT TOO. MY QUESTION IS --HOW CAN I KNOW IF THE NEW AIRBAG THEY PUT IN IS OR IS NOT A TAKATA AIRBAG. (SINCE THOSE ARE RECALLED) THIS INCIDENT HAPPENED IN AUGUST OF 2013.
I OFFER SAME COMPLAINT AS FILED UNDER NHTSA ID# 10485141.A SERVICE AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT CAME ON IN MY 2007 CHEVROLET SILVERADO TRUCK. I WENT TO THE DEALER WHO SOLD IT TO ME TO HAVE IT SERVICED & WAS TOLD THE RIGHT FRONT IMPACT SENSOR WAS CORRODED & HAD TO BE REPLACED. THIS WAS A SAFETY ISSUE, AND STATED TO DEALER THAT GM SHOULD COVER THE COST OF REPAIR. THE DEALER SAID NO & THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL ON RECORD.I AGREE COMPLETELY WITH THE COMMENTS PROVIDED UNDER ABOVE-REFERENCED COMPLIANT: "I CALLED GM & WAS TOLD THAT THIS WAS AN ENVIRONMENTAL ISSUE & THE SALT AIR IN MY AREA CAUSED THE CORROSION AND GM WAS NOT RESPONSIBLE. I TOLD THE PERSON THAT I WAS TALKING TO THAT APPARENTLY GM MUST BE AWARE OF THE PROBLEM IF THEY KNOW THAT THE SALT AIR CORRODES THE SENSORS. I MENTIONED THE FACT THAT SINCE THERE IS A PROBLEM THAT THE AIR BAG COULD POSSIBLE INFLATE WHILE DRIVING & CAUSE THE DRIVER TO SWERVE OFF THE ROAD OR INTO ANOTHER VEHICLE THUS CAUSING DEATH OR SERIOUS INJURY. I WAS THEN GIVEN A FILE NUMBER (71-1127296694) AND TOLD THE MATTER WOULD BE INVESTIGATED. I LATER RECEIVED A PHONE CALL FROM GM,SAID LOOKED INTO COMPLAINT & SINCE IT WAS AN ENVIRONMENTAL ISSUE GM WAS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR REPAIRS. I THEN STATED TO HIM THAT I WAS AWARE THAT CHRYSLER RECENTLY HAD A RECALL OF VEHICLES TO BE REPAIRED BECAUSE THE AIRBAG SENSORS WERE CORRODING. I WAS TOLD THAT GM. HAD NO SUCH RECALL. MY ARGUMENT IS THAT THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE. THE CORRODED SENSORS COULD MALFUNCTION AND CAUSE THE AIR BAGS TO DEPLOY THUS CAUSING THE DRIVER TO SWERVE AND POTENTIALLY GET INTO A SERIOUS ACCIDENT. DASHBOARD CRACKED/CRACKING IN SEVERAL LOCATIONS. I FIRST NOTICED ABOUT TWO YEARS AGO, BUT DID NOT KNOW OF THIS WEBSITE OR KNOW IT TO BE A NATIONWIDE ISSUE UNTIL READ ON NEWS TO REPORT IF HAPPENING TO A VEHICLE.
BRAKE LINES STARTED BLOWING AT DIFFERENT PLACES DUE TO RUST . I HAD TO REPLACE THEM ALL.I WORK WITH OTHER PEOPLE WHO ALL HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM,COULD THE BRAKE LINES BE MADE OF FAULTY MATERIAL. *TR

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WAS A RATTLING NOISE FROM THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, WHO REPLACED THE REAR PASSENGER'S SIDE FRACTURED LEAF SPRING. TWO WEEKS AFTER THE REPAIR WAS PERFORMED THE REAR DRIVER'S SIDE LEAF SPRING FRACTURED. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE PROBLEM. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 70,000. UPDATED 08/15/13*LJ

MY REAR CORNER PANELS HAVE COMPLETLY RUSTED OUT. THIS STARTED BACK IN 2013. I WENT TO 2 DEALERSHIPS IN THE ALBANY , NY AREA. THEY ALSO SAID IT WAS A KNOWN PROBLEM. WHY ISNT THIS RECALLED IF 2 CHEVROLET DEALERSHIPS HAVE SAID THIS?
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE ENTIRE DASHBOARD WAS CRACKED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 49,000.
MULTIPLE OCCURRENCES. CLOCK RESETS ITSELF. TURNED KEY TO START, NO DASH LIGHTS, NO NOTHING..I RETRIED AFTER A COUPLE OF MINUTES, IT STARTED. FUEL PUMP STOPPED WORKING, NO POWER TO IT I WAS TOLD. FUEL PUMP WAS NEW 2/10/13. THEY REPLACED THE FUEL CONTROL MODULE 4/18/2013. CONNECTIONS WERE CLEANED AND RESET. THIS ALL WORKED FINE UNTIL 3/12/2014. SAME SITUATIONS STARTED AGAIN. BUT AS BEFORE IT WOULD ALWAYS EVENTUALLY START. SAME DIAGNOSIS, FUEL CONTROL MODULE AND A SOME OTHER EXPENSIVE STUFF. 3 WEEKS AGO IT DIDN'T START, WOULD GRIND WITH NO FIRE. FUEL PUMP ISN'T GETTING POWER. I'M DEAD IN THE WATER. ONE OF MY SONS WORKS AS A CARPENTER, WELDER AND SHIPPING SPECIALIST FOR A CLASSIFIED GOVERNMENT FACILITY. THIS FACILITY HAS TOP NOTCH MECHANICS TO DO ALL THEIR MAINTENANCE INCLUDING AUTOS, GOING OUTSIDE OF THE FACILITY IS NOT AN OPTION. THESE MECHANICS HAVE 7 CHEVY 1500S OF VARIOUS YEARS THEY HAVE TO KEEP RUNNING. THEY'VE OFFERED THAT ALL OF THEIR TRUCKS HAD THE SAME ISSUES AS MINE AT ONE TIME. FOR THE FIRST 2 THEY DID THE MODULE REPLACEMENT STUFF JUST LIKE I DID. JUST LIKE MINE THOSE FIXES WENT SOUTH AGAIN. WHAT THEY DID THEN WAS TO CHANGE OUT THE ENTIRE IGNITION MODULE WITH AN IMPROVED VERSION. THEY'VE DONE IT FOR ALL 7 VEHICLES AS THE ISSUES OCCURRED, ALL ARE NOW WORKING WELL, SOME FOR YEARS. I'M TRYING THAT NEXT. THERE MAY BE SOME SECURITY ITEMS TO FIX. IT SEEMS TO SIMPLE TO ME, BUT AS I LOOK AT ALL OF THE INTERFACES OF THE VEHICLE WITH THE IGNITION MODULE, I'M GIVING IT A SHOT. BY THE WAY BATTERY CONNECTIONS ARE GOOD, GROUNDS ARE GOOD, FUSES ARE GOOD, I HAVE A BASIC 2007, MANUAL WINDOWS AND NO REMOTE STUFF. IF THEY'LL LET ME I'LL POST THE RESULTS. *TR

BRAKE PEDAL WENT TO FLOOR. FOUND BRAKE LINES HEAVILY RUSTED AFTER ONLY 6 YEARS OLD. LEFT REAR BRAKE LINE BLEW, CAUSING DANGEROUSLY SLOW BRAKING IN RUSH HOUR. NARROWLY AVOIDED SEVERAL CRASHES UNTIL I GOT HOME, CRAWLED UNDER IT TO FIND THE PUDDLE OF BRAKE FLUID. I'VE HAVE 20YEAR OLD CARS WITH BETTER BRAKE LINES. *TR
I FIRST NOTICED CRACKS IN MY DASH LOCATED BY THE PASSENGER AIRBAG IN 2013 AND HAS INCREASINGLY GOTTEN WORSE OVER THE YEARS. NOW I HAVE ANOTHER CRACK THAT DEVELOPED ON THE DRIVER SIDE BY THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER. I DO NOT KNOW THE CAUSE OF THE CRACKS. I HAVE MAINTAINED MY VEHICLE TO A HIGH STANDARD. NEVER INVOLVED IN AUTO ACCIDENT. POSSIBLE MATERIAL FATIGUE. MY CONCERN IS IF THE PASSENGER AIR BAG DEPLOYS THE DASH COULD CAUSE SHRAPNEL TO CAUSE BODILY HARM.

DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AND NOTICED A CRACK ALL OF A SUDDEN SHOW UP ON MY DASH NEAR THE PASSENGER AIR BAG. NOT EXACTLY SURE WHAT TIME OF DAY IT WAS OR EXACTLY WHERE OR WHEN IT HAPPENED. *TR

THE EVENING OF MARCH 10 2013 AROUND 1700 HOUR MY BROTHER A SINGLE MAN, WAS FATALLY KILLED IN HIS 2007 CHEVROLET SILVERADO K1500 PICK-UP TRUCK, APPROXIMATELY 1 MILE FROM HIS HOME ON A PAVED COUNTRY ROAD. HE WAS PR0NOUNCE DEAD @ 1730 HOUR. THE CAUSE OF THE ACCIDENT HAS NOT BEEN DETERMINED, YET THE REPORT WILL SHOW THAT HE WAS TRAVELING ON A DOWN HILL SLOPE WHERE HE SWERVED OFF THE PAVEMENT TO THE RIGHT AND THEN OVER CORRECTED BACK ON TO AND CROSSED THE PAVEMENT ON THE LEFT AND THEN BACK ACROSS THE HI WAY ON THE RIGHT IMPACTING A BRIDGE EMBANKMENT OVER TURNING OVER HITTING A TREE, RESTING RIGHT SIDE UP. HIS AIR BAG NEVER DEPLOYED. WE WERE TOLD THERE WAS NOT ANY THING WRONG WITH THE AIRBAGS MECHANISM, FURTHER THAT THE CRASH WAS NOT HEAD ON. THIS VEHICLE IS TOTALLY DESTROYED. I HAVE IT IN STORAGE FOR ANY ONE INSPECTION. MY BROTHER WAS NOT EJECTED FROM THE VEHICLE, I DO BELIEVE, SHOULD THE BAGS HAD DEPLOYED, MY BROTHER WOULD BE ALIVE TODAY. ALSO, FURTHER HIS STEERING FROM ONE SIDE TO THE OTHER INDICATED HE HAD NO POWER STEERING AND FINALLY, THE SKID MARKS ON THE GRAVEL EDGE AND NOT ON THE PAVEMENT, GIVE AN INDICATION, THERE WERE NO POWER ASSISTED BREAKING ALL ADD UP TO THE FACT THE VEHICLE LOST ITS ELECTRIC POWER BY THE KEY SWITCH ACCIDENTLY SHUTTING THE ENGINE OFF. *JS
COMING HOME FROM CAR WASH BRAKE PEDAL FELT SPONGY.PULLING INTO DRIVEWAY THE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR. LOOKED UNDER TRUCK AND SAW PUDDLE OF BRAKE FLUID ON GROUND BY LEFT REAR WHEEL. BRAKE LINE GOING TO REAR BRAKES HAD RUPTURED FROM MAJOR RUST. UPON FURTHER INSPECTION I FOUND BRAKE AND FUEL LINES SUFFER FROM MAJOR RUST AND WILL NEED TO BE REPLACED ASAP. *TR

FOR THE PAST YEAR 1/2 THE SERVICE STABILITRAK / SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL LIGHTS HAVE BEEN COMING ON FOLLOWED BY HARD SHIFTS AND NOW I'M SCARED TO DRIVE IT FOR MY OWN SAFETY AND OTHERS ON THE ROADS ! I'VE SPENT OVER $2000 ON TRYING TO FIX THIS PROBLEM WITH NO PREVAIL !! VERY AGGRAVATED BY THIS PROBLEM AND NOBODY INCLUDING THE DEALERSHIP CAN TELL ME WHY IT'S DOING THIS ! PLASTIC TABS THAT HOLD THE PASSENGER SIDE REAR TAILLIGHT ASSEMBLY IN PLACE BROKE FOR NO APPARENT REASON, ALLOWING THE ENTIRE TAILLIGHT ASSEMBLY TO FALL OUT AND BE DANGLING BY THE WIRES JUST OFF THE PAVEMENT. THIS COULD BE EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AT NIGHT. THE TAILLIGHT ASSEMBLY ON THE DRIVERS SIDE HAD A SIMILAR FAILURE TWO WEEKS LATER. IT APPEARS THIS IS A FACTORY DEFECT IN EITHER THE MATERIAL OR HOW THE TIGHT THE PLASTIC CLIPS ARE TORQUED ON, RESULTING IN CRACKING THAT FAILS OVER TIME. THE TRUCK IS JUST OUT OF WARRANTY SO CHEVROLET WILL NOT ADDRESS THE ISSUE. CURRENTLY HELD ON WITH DUCT TAPE AS THAT IS PROBABLY SAFER THAN A REPLACEMENT IF THE DESIGN FLAW HAS NOT BEEN CORRECTED. CHEVROLET NEEDS TO RECALL ALL THE TRUCKS WITH THIS STYLE TAILLIGHT ASSEMBLY AND PROVIDE A FIX TO THIS SAFETY ISSUE. *TR

THIS IS A RECURRING PROBLEM- MY VEHICLE (PURCHASED BRAND NEW BY ME) WHILE CRUISING ON THE HIGHWAY WILL START TO TRY AND CUT OFF WHILE DRIVING. THE DOOR LOCKS WILL POP UP AND DOWN, THE DASH GAUGES POWER ON AND OFF, THE HEADLAMPS FLASH ON AND OFF, ETC... LAST WEEK THE VEHICLE COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN WHILE DOING THIS AND I HAD TO COAST TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. THIS HAPPENED THREE TIMES IN 48 HOURS. *TR

THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 70,000. *TR

STARTING TO GET ONTO A HIGHWAY AND PULLED INTO A GAS STATION THE SPEEDOMETER GOT STUCK AT 40MPH AND WOULD NOT GO TO ZERO WHEN STOPPED BUT WHEN STARTED MOVING AGAIN IT ACTED LIKE 40 MPH WAS THE STARTING POINT AND WOULD NOT RETURN TO ZERO. *TR

THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH, THE FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE SEAT BELT BUCKLE RELEASED INDEPENDENTLY AND THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO REBUCKLE THE SEAT BELT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE A TECHNICIAN STATED THAT THE VEHICLE SPEEDOMETER NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND ADVISED THE CONTACT THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 53,000.
CONTACTED THE DEALER AND THEY HAD SAID NO PARTS AVAILABLE AT THIS TIME AND ITS BEEN WELL OVER A YEAR AGO AND THEY SAID THEY WOULD CALL ME BACK WHEN AVAILABLE. THEY CALLED ME BACK ABOUT A YR AND A HALF AGO AND SAID THAT IT DOES NOT EFFECT MY VIN# AND I SEE THAT IT DOES. PLEASE HELP VERIFY THAT MY VEHICLE DOES NEED THE AIR BAGS CHANGED OUT. I BOUGHT THIS BRAND NEW OFF THE LOT AT SOUTH POINTE CHEVROLET IN TULSA, OK IN JANUARY OF 2007. ALL I ASK THAT THIS REPAIR GETS FIXED AT THE RECALL EXPENSE AND TO KNOW THAT THESE EITHER NEED CHANGING OR NOT.

THE MANUFACTURER ADVISED THAT THE WARRANTY COVERAGE FOR THE TRANSAXLE ASSEMBLY REPLACEMENT EXPIRED AND DENIED ANY ASSISTANCE WITH THE REPAIR. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER TO HAVE A DIAGNOSTIC PERFORMED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 88,943.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET SILVERADO. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH, THE SERVICE STABILITY TRACK AND THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE VEHICLE STARTED SHAKING ABNORMALLY. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A LOCAL MECHANIC FOR A DIAGNOSTIC TEST. THE MECHANIC ADVISED THAT THE SPARK PLUG AND THE COIL PACK NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MECHANIC REPLACED THE COIL PACK AND SPARK PLUGS BUT THE REPAIR DID NOT REMEDY THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A DEALER AND THE DEALER STATED CAM SHAFT AND LIFTERS MALFUNCTIONED IN THE ENGINE. THE DEALER DID NOT REPAIR THE CAM SHAFT AND LIFTERS. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 140,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
CRACKED DASHBOARD
THE DASHBOARD ON MY 2007 (NEW BODY STYLE) CHEVY SILVERADO LS, 4.3L HAS CRACKED, RANDOMLY, RIGHT ABOVE THE PASSENGER AIR BAG. THERE WAS NOTHING TO CAUSE THIS CRACK, IT JUST APPEARED. AFTER DOING SOME RESEARCH, MANY OTHER GM OWNERS, RANGING FROM SILVERADOS TO TAHOES TO ESCALDES, ALSO HAVE CRACKS IN THEIR DASH, IN THE SAME SPOT, SOME WORSE THAN OTHERS. MY MAIN CONCERN IS IT CRACKING MORE, AND ALSO IF THE PASSENGER AIRBAG WERE TO DEPLOY, THE POSSIBILITY OF THE DASH BREAKING APART AND POSSIBLY THROWING SHARDS OF PLASTIC AT ME OR PASSENGER. NOT ONLY IS THE SAFETY AN ISSUE, BUT THE APPEARANCE IS AN ISSUE, SINCE ITS A RATHER LARGE CRACK, IT LOOKS UNSIGHTLY. WHILE TRAVELING AT ABOUT 25 MPH A LIGHT APPLICATION OF THE BRAKE WAS FOLLOWED BY THE BRAKE PEDAL GOING COMPLETELY TO THE FLOOR. AN INVESTIGATION REVEALED A RUPTURED BRAKE LINE IN THE AREA OF THE BRAKE CONTROL VALVE. AFTER BEING TOWED TO THE DEALER I WAS ADVISED THAT ALL THE BRAKE LINES WERE SEVERELY CORRODED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. I BOUGHT THE TRUCK NEW AND WAS VERY CONCERNED TO FIND THAT MY BRAKE LINES HAD FAILED WITH ONLY 82,800 MILES ON THE TRUCK AND ONLY 6 YEARS OLD. BRAKE LINES SHOULD LAST THE LIFE OF THE VEHICLE. I HAD A SERVICE AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT T ON IN MY 2007 CHEVROLET SILVERADO PICK UP TRUCK. I WENT TO A DEALER TO HAVE IT SERVICED.AND WAS TOLD THAT THE RIGHT FRONT IMPACT SENSOR WAS CORRODED AND HAD TO BE REPLACED. I FELT THAT THIS BEING A SAFETY ISSUE THAT GENERAL MOTORS SHOULD COVER THE COST OF REPAIR. I CALLED G.M. AND WAS TOLD THAT THIS WAS AN ENVIRONMENTAL ISSUE AND THE SALT AIR IN MY AREA CAUSED THE CORROSION AND G.M WAS NOT RESPONSIBLE. I TOLD THE PERSON THAT I WAS TALKING TO THAT APPARENTLY G.M. M,UST BE AWARE OF THE PROBLEM IF THEY KNOW THAT THE SALT AIR CORRODES THE SENSORS. FURTHERMORE I MENTIONED THE FACT THAT SINCE THERE IS A PROBLEM THAT THE AIR BAG COULD POSSIBLE INFLATE WHILE DRIVING AND POSSIBLY CAUSE THE DRIVER TO SWERVE OFF THE ROAD OR INTO ANOTHER VEHICLE THUS CAUSING DEATH OR SERIOUS INJURY. I WAS THEN GIVEN A FILE NUMBER (71-1127296694) AND TOLD THE MATTER WOULD BE INVESTIGATED. I LATER RECEIVED A PHONE CALL FROM A G.M. REP. WHO SAID HE LOOKED INTO MY COMPLAINT AND SINCE IT WAS AN ENVIRONMENTAL ISSUE G.M. WAS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR REPAIRS. I THEN STATED TO HIM THAT I WAS AWARE THAT CHRYSLER RECENTLY HAD A RECALL OF VEHICLES TO BE REPAIRED BECAUSE THE AIRBAG SENSORS WERE CORRODING. I WAS TOLD THAT G.M. HAD NO SUCH RECALL. MY ARGUMENT IS THAT THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE. THE CORRODED SENSORS COULD MALFUNCTION AND CAUSE THE AIR BAGS TO DEPLOY THUS CAUSING THE DRIVER TO SWERVE AND POTENTIALLY GET INTO A SERIOUS ACCIDENT. CHRYSLER CORP. MUST HAVE REALIZED THIS BECAUSE THEY HAD A RECALL. G.M.DOES NOT SEEM TO CARE AND IS APPARENTLY WAITING UNTIL THERE ARE SERIOUS ACCIDENTS AND THEY ARE FORCED TO RECALL VEHICLES.I ALSO WONDER IF G.M. AND CHRYSLER USE THE SAME VENDOR TO PURCHASE THE SENSORS. MOST LIKELY THEY DO AS THERE ARE PROBABLY NOT MANY COMPANY'S THAT MANUFACTURE THEM. I FEEL THIS IS POTENTIALLY SERIOUS SITUATION PLUS THE FACT THAT ANOTHER AUTOMOBILE MANUFACTURER RECOGNIZED THE PROBLEM PERHAPS YOUR AGENCY SHOULD INVESTIGATE. *TR
A FEW DAYS BEFORE THE INCIDENT MY LEFT FRONT BRAKES WERE MAKING A SLIGHT SQUEALING SOUND WHEN GOING STRAIGHT. IN A TURN OR WHEN THE BRAKE WAS APPLIED IT WOULD GO AWAY. VERY MINOR. THEN WHEN TRAVELING ON THE INTERSTATE AT 55 MPH I GOT A SEVERE SHUTTER IN THE STEERING WHEEL AND THE LEFT WHEEL WAS SHAKING LIKE CRAZY. I HIT THE BRAKES AND THE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR. AFTER I DOWNSHIFTED I GOT IT STOPPED ON A HILL. HAD IT TOWED HOME. THE LEFT WHEEL BEARING HAD MELTED!! THE WHEEL WAS LITERALLY HANGING ON AS THE DRIVESHAFT U JOINT CAME APART. THE FRONT HALF OF THE DRIVESHAFT WAS BENT AND THE BRAKES WERE SHOT. TURNS OUT THE (SEALED) HUB WAS RUSTED SO BAD IT FROZE UP. THEN IT FELL APART ON THE ROAD. LUCKILY I GOT IT STOPPED WITH WRECKING. CHEVY WANTED OVER $2200 TO FIX IT. I DID IT MYSELF FOR $330 FROM NAPA AFTER WATCHING YOUTUBE ON HOW TO DO IT. IT WAS EASY AS PIE! *TR

AFTER SHORT(90MILES)TRIP TO SEE FAMILY MEMBERS, I NOTICED A CRACK ON THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE DASH CONNECTING THE 'AIR BAG' PANEL. THIS RAISES GREAT CONCERN ABOUT THE SAFETY OF PASSENGERS SHOULD THERE BE A MINOR COLLISION AND PIECES OF THE CRACKED DASH IMPALING SOMEONE. NOW THE DASH ABOVE THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER HAS CRACKED AND THIS IS VERY DISTURBING BECAUSE THIS IS AT THE LEVEL OF THE DRIVERS FACE.. *TR

INTERMITTENTLY THE LIGHT WOULD GO ON AND OFF; SOMETIMES IT WOULD TAKE AT LEAST TWO DAYS BEFORE COMING BACK ON. THE DEALER WAS NOTIFIED AND ADVISED THE CONTACT TO BRING THE VEHICLE IN FOR A DIAGNOSTIC TEST. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND REFERRED HIM TO NHTSA IN ORDER TO FILE A COMPLAINT. THE CONTACT INSPECTED THE VEHICLE AND LOCATED THE FAILURE AT THE ELECTRONIC CONTROL MODULE (ECM). THE ECM WIRING HAD BECOME DISCONNECTED FROM THE PLASTIC INSULATION. THE CONTACT REPLACED THE ELECTRONIC CONTROL MODULE WIRING. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 63,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2000 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH, THE BRAKE WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED UNTIL THE ENGINE WAS TURNED OFF. THE VEHICLE FAILED TO DECELERATE WHEN PRESSURE WAS APPLIED TO THE BRAKES UNTIL AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS. DRIVING AT 30 MILES AN HOUR BRAKES FAILED DUE TO RUSTED REAR BRAKE LINE. CHEVROLET DEALER (PALM CHEVROLET OF PUNTA GORDA FLORIDA) SAID THIS WAS NORMAL WEAR & TEAR AND THAT ALL THE BRAKE LINES NEEDED REPLACED DUE TO RUST. THEY CHARGED $343. FOR JUST 1 BRAKE LINE. THEY WOULD NOT HONOR A 10 YEAR 100,000 MILE WARRANTY THAT I PURCHASED WITH THE VEHICLE FOR $1,200. TRUCK IS ONLY 5 YEARS OLD WITH 39700 MILES ON IT. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE TECHNICIAN ADVISED THE CONTACT THAT THE BOLTS FROM THE STEERING COLUMN NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND ADVISED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN ANY RECALLS. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 85,048 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 92,455.
BRAKES WENT OUT IN DRIVEWAY. TOWED TO LOCAL GARAGE , FOUND ALL BRAKE LINES WERE RUSTED AND PARTS OF LINES WERE SNAPPED APART. THIS HAPPENED WITH NORMAL DRIVING,NO INCIDENT. THANK GOD NOBODY WAS HURT. SAD TO SAY I HAVE LOST MY FAITH IN CHEVY!!! *TR *JS
