THIS IS BASED UPON TAKATA'S DECISION THAT FRONT PASSENGER AIRBAG INFLATORS IT SUPPLIED TO GM ARE DEFECTIVE. GM HAS SUBMITTED TO NHTSA A PETITION FOR INCONSEQUENTIALITY AND NHTSA HAS GRANTED GM UNTIL AUGUST 2017 TO COMPLETE ITS INVESTIGATION AND TO SUBMIT ALL DATA SUPPORTING THE PETITION. TAKATA RECALL -- DEALERSHIPS STATE THEY ARE UNABLE TO REPLACE THE TAKATA INFLATORS AT THIS TIME. THEY ARE UNSURE WHEN THEY CAN REPLACE.
TL* TAKATA RECALL. THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500. THE CONTACT RECEIVED A RECALL NOTIFICATION FOR NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V381000 (AIR BAGS). THE DEALER (EDWARDS CHEVROLET, 1400 3RD AVE N, BIRMINGHAM, AL 35203) STATED THAT TAKATA AIR BAGS WERE NOT USED IN THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE. A VIN SEARCH INDICATED THAT TAKATA AIR BAGS WERE USED IN THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.
TAKATA RECALL. I'M STILL WAITING FOR A FIX TO THE RECALL. I RECEIVED NOTICE QUITE SOME TIME AGO.
TAKATA RECALL - THE NOTICE SAYS 12/27/17 IS THE LAST DAY TO FILE FOR FINANCIAL REIMBURSEMENT FOR DAMAGES. THAT DATE IS RAPIDLY APPROACHING AND THE RECALL STATUS IS STILL AT A STANDSTILL, DESPITE PASSING THE AUGUST DEADLINE. SHOULDN'T THE 12/27/17 DATE BE EXTENDED IF THE PARTS AREN'T AVAILABLE TO REPLACE THE CURRENT AIR BAGS?
"TAKATA RECALL" THE MANUFACTURER HAS FAILED OR IS UNABLE TO REMEDY THIS SAFETY RECALL FOR MY VEHICLE IN A TIMELY MANNER. I AM CONTACTING TO FILE SUCH A COMPLAINT; I STILL OWN THIS VEHICLE AND IT IS STILL CURRENTLY BEING OPERATED. THERE HAS NOT BEEN AN INSTANCE WHERE THIS POSSIBLE DEFECTIVE AIRBAG HAS DEPLOYED. I AM CONCERNED THAT IF IT THIS RECALL IS NOT TAKEN CARE OF IT COULD LEAD TO A CATASTROPHE.
I CALLED OUR LOCAL CHEVROLET DEALER, LANDERS, IN BENTON. THEY SAID THERE WERE NO PARTS AVAILABLE FOR THE RECALL AND THAT THEY WERE NOT ABLE TO CHECK IN AFFECTED VEHICLES AND ISSUE LOANERS UNTIL THOSE PARTS ARE AVAILABLE. I AM OF COURSE CONCERNED REGARDING THE SAFE DRIVING OF THIS TRUCK.
TAKATA RECALL. GM IS NOT PROVIDING A REMEDY TO THE RECALL SITUATION. I THINK CUSTOMER SAFETY SHOULD BE A HIGH PRIOIRTY.
TAKATA RECALL APPARENTLY I HAVE A DEFECTIVE PASSENGER AIRBAG INFLATOR AND RECEIVED A LEGAL NOTICE FROM TK HOLDINGS.INC. CONTACTED DEALER. NO SOLUTION FROM GM?
TAKATA INFLATORS: THIS RECALL HAS BEEN IN EFFECT FOR OVER A YEAR WITH NO SOLUTION YET. HOW MUCH LONGER DO I HAVE TO WAIT FOR THIS TO BE FIXED?

TAKATA RECALL. CHEVROLET DEALERSHIPS, INCLUDING ELDORADO CHEVROLET IN MCKINNEY TEXAS, REFUSE TO REPAIR THE AIR BAG INFLATOR. SAY THEY DON'T HAVE THE REQUIRED PARTS.
REGARDING THE TAKATA RECALL, I'VE CALLED THE DEALERSHIP SEVERAL TIMES AND I WAS MOST RECENTLY TOLD THAT GENERAL MOTORS HAS NOT DONE ANYTHING TO REMEDY THE SITUATION. THE RECALL HAS BEEN IN EFFECT FOR MORE THAN A YEAR.
NO INCIDENTS OR ACCIDENTS. THE RECALL/FIX IS TAKING TOO LONG. SINCE TAKATA HAS FILED CHAPTER 11, THEY ARE OBVIOUSLY WASHING THEIR HANDS OF RESPONSIBILITY. AS INCIDENTS DO OCCUR, THERE WILL BE LEGAL REPERCUSSIONS TO GM. HOPEFULLY GM WILL FIND A SOLUTION IN A TIMELY MANNER.
TAKATA RECALL: OUR TRUCK WAS ONE OF THE VEHICLES AFFECTED IN THE MAY 27, 2016 RECALL AND ACCORDING TO THE WEBSITE "AIRBAGRECALL.COM", THE RECALL IS INCOMPLETE AND NO REMEDY IS AVAILABLE. THAT WAS OVER 2 YEARS AGO. WHY IS NO REMEDY AVAILABLE? IS THIS DANGEROUS? WE RECEIVED A POSTCARD IN THE MAIL SAYING THAT WE NEEDED TO GET THESE BAGS REPLACED, BUT IF NO REMEDY IS THERE, WHAT DO WE DO?
TAKATA RECALL NHTSA RECALL # 16V383 ISSUED IN MAY OF 2016. ACCORDING TO GM DEALER THERE ARE NO REMEDIAL PARTS YET AVAILABLE. GM IS PROCRASTINATING AND SHOULD BE REQUIRED TO COMPLY IF RECALL IS VALID.

TAKATA RECALL I TOOK MY VEHICLE TO HOMEWOOD CHEVROLET AND THEY TOLD ME THAT THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO ABOUT MY DEFECTIVE AIR BAGS.
TAKATA RECALL I KEEP GETTING NOTICES FOR THE AIRBAG RECALL BUT IT ALWAYS SAYS "REPLACEMENT PART UNAVAILABLE". HOW DO I GET THE RECALL REMEDIED WHEN THE REPLACEMENT PART IS UNAVAILABLE? DO I JUST WAIT UNTIL IT CAUSES AN ACCIDENT OR DEATH??? I RECEIVED ANOTHER RECALL NOTICE ON 11/01/2017
TAKATA RECALL STROSNIDER CHEVROLET SERVICE DEPT SAID IT IS NOT AN ACTIVE RECALL BY GM AND THEY DON'T HAVE PARTS TO REMEDY. NO IDEA WHEN PARTS WILL ARRIVE; IT'S UP TO GM.

I UNDERSTAND THE AIR BAGS CAN CAUSE DEATH DURING AN IMPACT. I CALL CALLED MY CHEVY DEALER AND THEY TELL ME THERE IS NO FIX YET, THIS WAS A YEAR AGO, NOW I GET A CARD IN THE MAIL TELLING ME TAKATA IS FILING CHAPTER 11, I CALL MY DEALER AGAIN, AND AGAIN THEY TELL ME AGAIN, THERE IS NO FIX. HOW DO I GET MY AIR BAGS FIXED?

THE CONTACT RECEIVED A POSTCARD FROM TK HOLDINGS, ALERTING HIM THAT THEY FILED FOR BANKRUPTCY. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.
TAKATA RECALL - I RECEIVED THE RECALL NOTIFICATION, AND WAS ADVISED GENERAL MOTORS WOULD CONTACT ME TO SCHEDULE THE REPAIR OVER A YEAR AGO. SINCE THEN RECENTLY I RECEIVED ANOTHER LETTER IN THE MAIL ADVISING I SHOULD CONTACT THE DEALERSHIP AS SOON AS POSSIBLE TO GET THE REPAIRS MADE. WHEN I LOOK ONLINE, IT OFFERS NO SOLUTION OTHER THAN TO FILE THIS COMPLAINT.
I CONTACTED MY LOCAL DEALER ON 10/25/2017 AND THEY STATED THAT THEY HAVE NOT RECEIVED THE REQUIRED PARTS TO COMPLETE THE TAKATA RECALL ON MY VEHICLE.

TAKATA RECALL, GOT NOTIFIED BACK ON MAY 27, 2016 FOR THIS RECALL. KEEP CHECKING AND HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO GET THIS PROBLEM FIXED YET! WENT THROUGH THE LIST AND TALKED WITH DOUG AT AUTO NATION CHEVROLET, HE TOLD ME THEY HAVE NO PARTS TO TAKE CARE OF THE RECALL'S AND HAVE NOT HEARD WHEN THEY ARE GETTING ANY IN.

TAKATA RECALL. RECEIVED "IMPORTANT SAFETY RECALL" ON GM LETTERHEAD DATED JULY, 2016. GM RECALL #"49152", THEREAFTER CALLED GM RECALL #2049152; NHTSA RECALL # 16V383. ORIGINAL LETTER STATES "VEHICLE IS PRESENTLY SAFE TO DRIVE...NO NEED TO TAKE ACTION NOW...WILL BE NOTIFIED WHEN PARTS ARE AVAILABLE TO REMEDY YOUR VEHICLE." I CHECKED THE STATUS OF THE RECALL AT MY.GM.COM/RECALLS ON THE FOLLOWING DATES WITH THE SAME INFORMATION FOUND: 10/8/16; 1/3/17; 8/10/17. I RECEIVED A LEGAL NOTICE ON 10/20/17, STATING THAT TAKATA, THE AIR BAG INFLATORS MANUFACTURER, IS/HAS DECLARED BANKRUPTCY, ETC. AND DECIDED TO FOLLOW UP ON THE RECALL AS SUGGESTED IN THE LEGAL NOTICE. I SPOKE TO "MR. P." (FIRST NAME) IN THE SERVICE DEPT AT COLUMBIA CHEVROLET, 513-823-9268, WHO LOOKED UP MY VIN AND STATE THAT HIS GM WEBSITE STATES THAT GM AND TAKATA HAVE PETITIONED THE NHTSA TO DETERMINE IF A RECALL WILL BE MADE. I POINTED OUT I HAVE A GM RECALL AND WAS TOLD GM WILL SEND ME A RECALL NOTICE IF ONE IS MADE AND "ANYWAY, THERE ARE NO PARTS AVAILABLE FOR THIS AND WE DON'T KNOW WHAT PARTS THEY WOULD BE." I THINK THE RESPONSE THAT WE DON'T HAVE PARTS TO REMEDY THE PROBLEM, (WHICH WE NOW DON'T ACKNOWLEDGE)15 MONTHS AFTER RECEIVING AN OFFICIAL RECALL, WHICH WAS ORIGINATED 20 MONTHS AGO, IS INAPPROPRIATE AND HAS ADDED STRESS TO MY LIFE IN HAVING TO FOLLOW-UP REPEATEDLY AND WORRY ABOUT THE SAFETY OF MY VEHICLE, WHICH MAY STILL HAVE A SERIOUS SAFETY CONCERN UNADDRESSED. NO MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENT OR OTHER INCIDENT TO STIMULATE THE ACTION OF THE AIR BAGS HAS OCCURRED, THANKFULLY.
TAKATA RECALL. I HAVE CONTACTED SEVERAL DEALERS AND THEY SAY THAT THE REPLACEMENT AIRBAG IS NOT AVAILABLE. RECALL HAS BEEN ISSUED FOR A LONG TIME. WHAT GOOD IS A RECALL IF THERE IS NO PARTS TO MAKE THE REPAIR?! PLEASE HELP BEFORE I AM INJURED!
I WAS NOTIFIED IN JULY 2016 THAT MY VEHICLE HAS A SAFETY RECALL AND I WOULD BE NOTIFIED WHEN TO BRING IT IN FOR REPAIR. I CALL MY LOCAL DEALERSHIP TODAY AND WAS TOLD THAT GM DOES NOT HAVE A FIX YET. THEY HAVE NO IDEA WHEN MY VEHICLE WILL BE REPAIRED. I BELIEVE THAT OVER A YEAR SHOULD BE SUFFICIENT TIME FOR THEM TO MAKE GOOD ON THIS RECALL.

TAKATA RECALL. CHEVROLET HAS STILL NOT SCHEDULED A REPLACEMENT FOR THE DEFECTIVE AIR BAG.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500. THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE DASHBOARD WAS CRACKING. THE CONTACT WAS CONCERNED OF AIR BAG DEPLOYMENT DUE TO THE CRACK. A DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V383000 (AIR BAGS). THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 105,000.
TAKATA RECALL - I HAVE CONTACTED FENTON CHEVROLET SEVERAL TIMES AND THEY ARE TELLING ME THERE ARE NO PARTS TO FIX THIS RECALL. I WAS NEVER GIVEN ANY NOTICE OF A RECALL OF THESE BAGS UNTIL I RECEIVED THE BANKRUPTCY NOTICE. HOW CAN I FIX THE PROBLEM WHEN THERE ARE NO PARTS TO FIX IT??
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2007 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED BY AN EYEWITNESS THAT THE VEHICLE WAS ON FIRE. THE FIRE WAS LOCATED WITHIN THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT FILED A REPORT AND EXTINGUISHED THE FIRE. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC AND TOW COMPANY. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT NOTIFIED. THE VEHICLE WAS DECLARED DESTROYED BY THE INSURANCE COMPANY. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 110,000. ..UPDATED 11/07/17 *BF UPDATED 11/09/2017*JS
MY AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT IS ON !
I WAS IN ACCIDENT ON 10/06/2017. VEHICLE PULLED OUT FROM AYCOCK ST. ON TO WEST TUNNEL BLVD. DRIVER ADMITTED I WAS NOT ABLE TO AVOID ACCIDENT. MY AIR BAGS DID NOT COME OUT. THERE WAS A TOTAL OF $5371.00 DAMAGE ON VEHICLE. AND, I AM SUFFERING FROM INJURIES SINCE TIME FROM ACCIDENT.

MY DASHBOARD IS CRACKING AROUND AIRBAG, A WELL KNOWN ISSUE WITH GM VEHICLES. I WAITING FOR THE DAY WHEN MY AIRBAG DEPLOYS AND I GET IMPALED WITH A PIECE OF PLASTIC. PLEASE HELP WITH THIS ISSUE.
MULTIPLE CRACKS IN THE DASHBOARD IN AND AROUND THE PASSENGER AIRBAG AND DRIVERS SIDE. PIECES BECOME A HAZARD IN THE EVENT OF A COLLISION AS THEY COULD BECOME PROJECTILES. DASH CRACKS LEAD TO LOSS OF STRUCTURAL INTEGRITY OF THE DASH SYSTEM WHICH MAY ALSO IMPEDE THE ABILITY OF THE AIRBAG TO FUNCTION. THIS PROBLEM HAS BEEN WELL DOCUMENTED AND REPORTED BY MULTITUDES OF CONSUMERS THROUGHOUT THE NATION. GM/CHEVROLET REFUSE TO ACKNOWLEDGE THAT THERE IS A MANUFACTURING PROBLEM AND REFUSED TO PROVIDE ANY SUPPORT WHEN CONTACTED VIA PHONE. THE LOSS OF STRUCTURAL INTEGRITY ALSO POSES A HAZARD AS THE PIECES VIBRATE AND CAUSE A DISTRACTION FOR THE DRIVER. MY DASH BOARD WAS REPLACED AT APPROX. 80000 MILES DUE TO THE SAME ISSUE IN NEARLY THE SAME LOCATION. THIS PROBLEM SHOULD WARRANT A RECALL AND/OR A STREAMLINED AVENUE TO REPAIR THE KNOWN DEFECT. THERE ALSO SHOULD BE SOME REQUIREMENT FOR ENGINEERING TO REVIEW THE DESIGN AND REMEDY THE SITUATION FULLY.
