WAS DRIVING AND LOST ACCELATTOR SPEED CONTROL THE TRUCK WOULD NOT GO AND THEN I GOT A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. TURN THE VEHICLE OFF FOR A WHILE AND THEN GAIN ACCELATOR SPEED CONTROL AGAIN.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 75 MPH, THE VEHICLE DECELERATED AS THE STABILITRAK AND REDUCE ENGINE POWER WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE THROTTLE BODY SENSOR BECAME INOPERABLE AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND REFUSED TO PROVIDE ANY ASSISTANCE DUE TO THE VEHICLE NOT BEING INCLUDED IN AN UNKNOWN MANUFACTURER RECALL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 120,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 50 MPH PASSING ANOTHER VEHICLE, THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL BECAME STUCK. SHE ENGAGED THE BRAKE PEDAL WITH EXTREME FORCE IN ORDER TO STOP THE VEHICLE. SHE WAS ABLE TO DRIVE ONTO THE EMERGENCY LANE AFTER THE FAILURE AND NOTICED THAT THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL REMAINED STUCK. THE FAILURE OCCURRED TWICE BUT THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN TAKEN TO A DEALER OR LOCAL MECHANIC. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 66,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 66,085.

THE CONTACT WAS TRAVELING 30 MPH ON A TWO LANE ROAD WHEN THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS ENGAGED, WHEN THE GAS PEDAL WAS RELEASED THE VEHICLE CONTINUED TO ACCELERATE. THE SPEED INCREASED UP TO 80 MPH BEFORE THE VEHICLE WOULD STOP. THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL APPEARED TO BE STUCK CAUSING THE CONTACT TO TURN THE VEHICLE OFF; HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE CONTINUED TO ACCELERATE. THE CONTACT TURNED THE VEHICLE BACK ON AND OFF AGAIN BEFORE IT BEGAN COASTING TO A STOP. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE INTO THE DEALER AND WAS TOLD THAT THEY WERE UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. WHEN THE CONTACT DROVE THE VEHICLE HOME, THE ABS LIGHT CAME ON. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 8900.

THE CONTACT HAD TO SHUT THE VEHICLE OFF AND COAST TO A STOP. THE VEHICLE WAS BEING INSPECTED AT THE DEALERSHIP AT THE TIME OF THE COMPLAINT. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE APPROXIMATELY 60,000.

HE STATED THAT IT TOOK OFF "LIKE A JET". HE KICKED THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL A FEW TIMES AND THE ENGINE BEGAN TO SETTLE TO NORMAL SPEEDS. THE FAILURE HAS NOT RECURRED. THE DEALERS RETURNED THE VEHICLE TO THE CONTACT WITHOUT A DIAGNOSIS OR AN INVOICE. HE CALLED THE MANUFACTURER AND WAS AWAITING A RESPONSE AT THE TIME OF THE COMPLAINT. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 40 TO 50 MPH AND RELEASING HIS FOOT FROM THE ACCELERATOR, THE VEHICLE WOULD SUDDENLY ACCELERATE. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT AFTER A FEW MINUTES THE VEHICLE WOULD EVENTUALLY SLOW BACK DOWN TO NORMAL SPEEDS OF 30 TO 35 MPH. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THREE DIFFERENT DEALERS. THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE THROTTLE BODY, HBAC CONTROL MODULE, PUNCH VALVE AND CANISTER, ELECTRONIC CONTROL MODULE AND SPEED SENSOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. AFTER HAVING EACH REPAIR DONE THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND THEY ADVISED HIM THAT THE VEHICLE WAS ACTING AS IT SHOULD. MY TRUCK STARTED SELF ACCELERATING AFTER ABOUT 1,000 MILES. IT HAPPENS WHEN IM BRAKING. NOT EVERY TIME, BUT ITS HAPPENING MORE OFTEN AND THE RPM'S ARE REVVING HIGHER. THIS HAS ALSO HAPPENED IN REVERSE. I ALMOST WRECKED AT 3 DIFFERENT INTERSECTIONS, AND 4 TIMES I CAME VERY CLOSE TO DAMAGING PARKED CARS WHEN TRYING TO PARK, AND ONCE ALMOST HIT AN EMPLOYEE OF MINE ON THE JOB SITE, AND LASTLY, SEVERAL TIMES I CAME CLOSE TO DRIVING INTO MY OWN HOME. I HAVE HAD THE TRUCK BACK AT THE DEALERSHIP 3 TIMES AND THEY CANT REPRODUCE THE PROBLEM. AM NOW WAITING ON A "FLIGHT RECORDER" TO BE INSTALLED. *TR

ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS, THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THE SPARK PLUGS AND WIRES WERE REPLACED, AND THE THROTTLE BODY WAS CLEANED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED BUT DID NOT RECTIFY THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 112 AND THE APPROXIMATE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 165,000.
