I HAVE A SHORT IN MY FUEL PUMP FLOW CONTROL MODULE. IT CAUSES MY CAR TO STALL WHILE WHILE IN OPERATION, CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON, SOMETIMES IT DOESN'T START, ETC. THIS ISSUE HAS HAUNTED ME FOR ABOUT A YEAR NOW. I FOUND A RECALL BULLETIN FROM GM; #14515B. THIS IS THE EXACT PART # AND ISSUE THAT I'M HAVING BUT MY VIN # ISN'T PART OF THE RECALL. IS IT POSSIBLE THAT MY VIN WAS MISSED?

AS OTHERS ARE WORRIED, THE DASH BOARDS OF THESE TRUCKS AND SUVS IN THE 07+ MODEL YEARS ARE PRONE TO CRACK INTO PIECES, ESPECIALLY AROUND THE PASSENGER AIRBAG. THE DASH CAN BECOME PROJECTILES UPON AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT AND CAN CAUSE INJURY TO OCCUPANTS OF THE VEHICLE. ALTHOUGH I'M NOT AWARE OF THIS HAPPENING, I AM CONCERNED, ALONG WITH MANY OTHERS, THAT THIS CAN POSE A VERY DANGEROUS SAFETY HAZARD.
MY VEHICLE HAD BEEN PARKED ALL DAY AT WORK AND WHEN I COME OUT OF WORK I NOTICED MY DASH HAD CRACKED BESIDE THE PASSENGER AIRBAG. I FEEL IF THE AIRBAG EVER GO OFF IT WILL SEND SHRAPNEL OUT AND CAUSE INJURY TO THE PASSENGER OR THE DRIVER

TAKATA RECALL. I RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE SEVERAL YEARS AGO, BUT EACH TIME I ASKED I'M TOLD NO PARTS ARE AVAILABLE. WHY NOT? I'VE ALSO HAD TO REPLACE ONE OF THE AIRBAG SENSORS AT A COST OF JUST UNDER $500. NOW THE AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT IS ON AGAIN. SEEMS LIKE THEY SHOULD WARRANTY THIS. WHY SHOULD I REPAIR SOMETHING THAT CAN KILL IF IT'S WORKING?
THERE IS A CRACK JUST IN FRONT NEAR THE WINDSHIELD ON THE LEFT SIDE OF THE PASSENGER AIR BAG IN MY TRUCK ONLY HAS 94K MILES THIS IS A CONTINUED PROBLEM AS I OWNED A 2009 TAHOE Z71 THAT DID NOT EVEN HAVE 30K MILES ON IT PRIOR TO THIS THAT HAD THE SAME PROBLEM OCCUR THIS IS A SAFETY CONCERN IF THE AIR BAG IS TO DEPLOY IT WILL THROW THAT PLASTIC AS A PROJECTILE THIS MATTER NEEDS TO BE FIXED MY GM AS THERE ARE THOUSANDS OF TRUCKS AND SUVS WITH THIS PROBLEM
TAKATA RECALL, RECEIVED RECALL NOTICE MANY MONTHS AGO NOT REMEDY
"TAKATA RECALL" IT HAS BEEN OVER 8 MONTHS SINCE I RECEIVED A RECALL ON THIS. AS OF TODAY THERE IS STILL NO RESOLUTION FROM GM. THIS IS IRRESPONSIBLE CONSIDERING "IT CAN CAUSE SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH". THEY SHOULD BE FORCED TO RESOLVE THIS SITUATION IN SOME FASHION SO I AM NOT RISKING THE SAFETY OF MY FAMILY WHILE WAITING.
I HAVE A 2008 SILVERADO 2500HD WITH 48,000 MILES ON IT AND JUST NOTICED TWO CRACKS HAVE FORMED ABOVE THE PASSENGER AIRBAG. EVEN THOUGH THE WARRANTY HAS EXPIRED I FEEL THIS IS A MANUFACTURING DEFECT AND SHOULD BE REPLACED BY CHEVROLET AT NO CHARGE. THE VEHICLE HAS ALWAYS BEEN STORED SUN PROTECTED EXCEPT WHEN TRAVELING. AT THAT TIME A DASH SCREEN IS USED FOR SUN PROTECTION. I CONTACTED THE CHEVROLET CUSTOMER ASSISTANCE CENTER IMMEDIATELY AND THEY HAD ME TAKE MY VEHICLE TO A CHEVROLET DEALER FOR EXAMINATION. I HAD MY VEHICLE EXAMINED AT THE CHEVROLET DEALERSHIP ON MARCH 21, 2016. THEY EXAMINED THE VEHICLE, TOOK PHOTOS AND TOLD ME THEY WOULD GET BACK TO ME WITH THE DECISION. THEY DID SO LATER THAT DAY BUT THE DECISION WAS TO REPLACE THE DASH WHICH WOULD BE $1000.00 OF WHICH GM WOULD BE WILLING TO PICK UP HALF, SO MY OUT OF POCKET EXPENSE WOULD BE $500.00. I REFUSED THIS OFFER AND TOLD THE DEALER I WOULD BE CONTACTING THE CHEVROLET CUSTOMER ASSISTANCE CENTER TO DISPUTE ME HAVING TO PAY $500.00 OUT OF POCKET EXPENSE TO CORRECT A MANUFACTURERS DEFECT. I CONTACTED THE CHEVROLET CUSTOMER ASSISTANCE CENTER IMMEDIATELY VIA PHONE AND ASKED THAT THE ISSUE BE ELEVATED TO THE APPROPRIATE PERSON. I PROVIDED THE REPRESENTATIVE ALL THE INFORMATION SHE REQUESTED FROM ME AND SHE ASSURED ME THAT SHE WOULD ELEVATE THE ISSUE TO THE SENIOR MANAGER IN MY AREA AND THEY WOULD GET BACK TO ME WITHIN 48 HOURS WITH A DECISION. AS OF THIS WRITING I HAVE NOT HEARD BACK FROM ANYONE.
FRONT IMPACT SENSOR FOR AIR BAG SYSTEM FAILED DUE TO POOR PLACEMENT, INFERIOR PRODUCT AND LACK OF INITIAL QUALITY INSTALLATION.CORRODED INTERNALLY.

FOR THE PRODUCTION YEARS 2007 THROUGH 2012, GENERAL MOTORS HAS HAD EXTENSIVE ISSUES WITH THE DASHBOARDS CRACKING AROUND THE PASSENGER AIRBAG, AS WELL AS OTHER AREAS OF THE DASHBOARD. I HAVE A 2008 SILVERADO WITH ONLY 53,000 MILES ON IT. I RECENTLY NOTICED THAT THE DASHBOARD HAS CRACKED WHERE THE PASSENGER AIRBAG IS LOCATED. I TOOK MY TRUCK TO THE DEALERSHIP TODAY (HUFFINES CHEVROLET IN PLANO, TX) TO HAVE THEM INSPECT THE DASHBOARD. THEY WERE VERY KIND (AS USUAL) AND OFFERED TO EXTEND ME A COURTESY DISCOUNT TO REPLACE THE DASHBOARD FOR $500.00 VERSUS THE FULL PRICE OF $1,168.00. WHILE THIS IS A STEP IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION, I DON'T THINK I SHOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR A DEFECTIVE DASHBOARD THAT HAS BEEN INSTALLED IN SILVERADO'S, SIERRA'S, AVALANCHES, AND SUBURBAN'S FOR 7 PRODUCTION YEARS. BESIDES THE EXPENSE, THESE CRACKED DASHBOARDS REPRESENT MAJOR SAFETY ISSUES. IF THE AIRBAG WAS EVER DEPLOYED, BOTH PASSENGERS AND DRIVERS WILL BE SUBJECTED TO INJURY BY HARD PLASTIC SHRAPNEL FLYING THROUGHOUT THE CABIN. GENERAL MOTORS SHOULD STEP UP TO THE PLATE AND OFFER ITS CUSTOMERS A FREE REPLACEMENT OF THESE DANGEROUS BROKEN DASHBOARDS.

THE FRONT DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE SEAT BELTS EXTRACTION BUCKLE EXPLODED AND EMITTED SMOKE FROM THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE EXTRACTION BUCKLE. THE CONTACT WAS TRAPPED IN THE SEAT. THE SEAT BELT AND SERVICE AIR BAG WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TWO FRONT BUMPER SENSORS CORRODED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. ALSO, THE FRONT DRIVER AND PASSENGER SEAT BELTS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 107,581.

MEDICAL ATTENTION WAS RECEIVED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A BODY SHOP. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 110,000.

WITH TRUCK STATIONARY, I HAVE INSPECTED AND OBSERVED THE FOLLOWING. DASH HAS CRACKED THROUGH MULTIPLE LOCATIONS TO INCLUDE AREAS FOR STORED AIRBAGS. RATTLING SOUND IS COMING FROM INSECURE DASH. RADIO AND SPEAKERS FUNCTION INTERMITTENTLY AND OTHER TIMES WITH STATIC. REPLACED SPEAKERS IN DOORS AND THAT DID NOT RESOLVE THE PROBLEM. DRIVERS SEAT BELT DID NOT CONNECT TO RECEIVER END. REPLACED PART ORDERED FROM GM PARTS WEBSITE. A CONSTANT WATER LEAK COMES FROM UNDERNEATH DASH ALONG FIREWALL INTO DRIVERS SIDE FLOORBOARDS. WATER SOAKED CARPET AND INSULATION HAS WICKED TO REAR FLOOR AREAS. NO ONE HAS FOUND THE WATER SOURCE, BUT IT HAS RUSTED DRIVER SIDE DOOR PANEL SCREWS AND RUINED CARPET. WATER APPEARS TO BE WORSE WHEN USING HVACC OR DEFROSTER. REPLACED FUEL VENT VALVE SOLENOID UNDERNEATH TRUCK, NEAR REFUEL CAP/DOOR, THREE TIMES DUE TO CHECK ENG LIGHT.
I HAVE RECEIVED MAILINGS FROM GENERAL MOTORS, AND BOB MCCOSH CHEVROLET DEALERSHIP, (WHERE I PURCHASED TRUCK NEW), AND NOW TAKATA, ALL SAYING MY TRUCK HAS FAULTY AIR BAG INFLATORS! I HAVE TALKED TO GENERAL MOTORS. THIS TRUCK IS STILL UNDER WARRANTY! I WANT THE PARTS CHANGED OUT! PLEASE! [XXX] , HOME, [XXX], CELL, [XXX]. TAKATA RECALL. MANUFACTURER RECALL #2049151. NHTSA RECALL #16V381. I HAVE TRIED MY LOCAL CHEVROLET DEALER BUT THEY SAY THERE ARE NO AIRBAG REPLACEMENTS AVAILABLE. THE ORIGINAL AIRBAG HAS NOT DEPLOYED, BUT I RISK INJURY OR DEATH IF IT DOES. THERE IS NO EXCUSE FOR CHEVROLET NOT TO HONOR THIS RECALL AS IT DIRECTLY AFFECTS MY SAFETY.

THE DASHBOARD IN MY 2008 CHEVY SILVERADO 1500 HAS A CRACK ABOVE THE AIRBAG AND A CRACK ABOVE THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. I AM CONCERNED FOR MY SAFETY.
