I AM VERY CONCERNED BECAUSE THIS ISSUE HAS BEEN TAKEN CARE. I GET ANXIETY EVERY TIME I GET IN MY TRUCK KNOWING THE AIR BAGS ISSUE HAS BEEN TAKEN CARE OF.
MY DASHBOARD HAS A FEW CRACKS IN IT AND THEY APPEARED OVER TIME DUE TO THE QUALITY OF THE PRODUCT. THE SAFETY CONCERN IS IT IS CRACKING AROUND THE PASSENGER AIR BAG WHICH COULD AFFECT THE EFFICIENCY OF THE AIRBAG. THE PRODUCT WEAR WAS MOSTLY AFFECTED WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY.

THE CONTACT SUSTAINED EAR PAIN DUE TO THE AIR BAG DEPLOYMENT, WHICH DID NOT REQUIRE MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500. WHILE DRIVING 70 MPH, THE VEHICLE SHOOK AND STALLED, AND THE LOW OIL PRESSURE AND "SHUT THE VEHICLE DOWN" INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A LOCAL DEALER (FAMILY CHEVROLET, 3701 E SAUNDERS ST, LAREDO, TX 78041) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE OIL, OIL FILTER, AND INJECTORS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND OPENED CASE NUMBER: 8-3726232141. THE CONTACT WAS OFFERED A DISCOUNT ON REPAIRS. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 80,000.
TAKATA RECALL - FIRST NOTICE RECEIVED JULY 2016 SINCE THEN I HAVE CALLED FOUR TIMES TO SCHEDULE A REPAIR AND BEEN TOLD VARIOUS THINGS THAT AMOUNT TO NO FIX IS AVAILABLE. NOT A LOT OF PEOPLE HAVE DIED COMPARED TO ALL THE AIRBAGS OUT THERE, BUT THAT DOES NOT MAKE ME FEEL CONFIDENT ABOUT DRIVING MY GRANDSONS AFTER SCHOOL OR ON SUMMER BREAK. IS THERE ANY HELP FOR ME?

TAKATA RECALL. NO AUTHORIZED DEALERS IN MY AREA HAVE THE PART IN STOCK YET, ALTHOUGH THEY SAY THEY'VE BEEN WAITING FOR OVER A YEAR FOR GM TO DELIVER THE REPLACEMENT BAGS.
TAKATA RECALL - AIRBAG. RECALL ESTABLISHED IN MAY OF 2016. IT HAS BEEN A YEAR AND A HALF AND NO REMEDY IS IN PLACE. IF THE PROPELLANT RUPTURES, IT COULD BE FATAL AND WE HAVE CHILDREN.

I CONTACTED DEALERSHIP (11/30/2017) WHERE I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE AND THEY SAID THERE IS NO REMEDY AVAILABLE. WHEN ONE IS AVAILABLE, TAKATA WILL SEND ME A NOTICE.....LOL....NOW WHAT???
RE: TK HOLDINGS INC., ET AL THIS IS THE 2ND NOTICE. HOWEVER, A VEHICLE RECALL NOTICE WAS RECEIVED MUCH EARLIER THAN THIS. (UNFORTUNATELY I DID NOT KEEP A COPY BECAUSE OF DEALER'S RESPONSE AT THAT TIME.) WE CALLED CHEVROLET OF FAYETTEVILLE, AR AND CRAIN BUICK GMC OF SPRINGDALE, AR. BOTH DEALERS SAID THERE WERE NO PARTS AVAILABLE & WHEN THERE WERE WE WOULD RECEIVE A RECALL NOTICE. THIS IS THE SAME RESPONSE WE RECEIVED OVER A YEAR AGO.
THE VEHICLE SHAKES OUT THE BLUE WHEN I'M DRIVING APPROX.75 MPH
DASH ON MY TRUCK IS CRACKED IN MULTIPLE PLACES, WITH ONE NEAR THE AIRBAG. I'M CONCERNED THAT IF MY AIRBAG EVER INFLATES, PIECES OF THE DASH WILL BECOME PROJECTILES DUE TO HOW BRITTLE IT IS. THIS COULD CAUSE SERIOUS INJURY.

TODAY NOV. 20, 2017 I WAS TOLD BY THE DEALERSHIP THAT THEY ARE UNABLE TO REPLACE THE AIRBAG BECAUSE THEY HAVE NO PARTS,,COULD NOT TEL ME WHEN PARTS WILL BE AVAILABLE, THE TRUCK IS PART OF THE AIRBAG RECALL.

PARTS STILL NOT AVAILABLE. GM WEBSITE SAYS FEB. 2017. CHECKED MARCH 9TH, 2017, WEB SITE SAYS CHECK BACK AFTER AUGUST 2017. CHECKED IN SEPTEMBER 2017. WEB SITE SAYS "INCOMPLETE. REMEDY NOT YET AVAILABLE. RECENTLY RECEIVED NOTICE FROM TK HOLDING INC. ANNOUNCING BANKRUPTCY FILING OF TAKATA. CALLED THEIR NUMBER AND THEY SAID REPAIRS SHOULD HAVE BEEN MADE. CALLED LOCAL DEALER: THEIR SERVICE DEPARTMENT SAYS PARTS ARE STILL NOT AVAILABLE. MY QUESTIONS: IS THIS VEHICLE SAFE TO DRIVE? IF I'M INJURED BY A DEFECTIVE AIR BAG, AND TAKATA HAS FILED BANKRUPTCY, IS GM GOING TO REPAIR MY TRUCK, AND/OR (GOD FORBID) I'M INJURED BY A DEFECTIVE AIR BAG, WHO WILL TAKE CARE OF MY MEDICAL? LASTLY, IF THESE AIR BAGS WERE DEFECTIVE ENOUGH TO ISSUE A SAFETY RECALL, DOES IT REALLY TAKE 15+ MONTHS TO GET PARTS AND EFFECT REPAIRS? TAKATA RECALL: KUNI CHEVOLET IN SACRAMENTO, CA. CANNOT REPLACE MY AIR BAGS BECAUSE THEY CLAIM NOT TO HAVE ANY ON HAND. MAY 27,2016 THEIR CLAIM WAS NOT ANY IN STOCK, 2ND TIME NOV.14, 2017 AGAIN TOLD THAT THEY WERE UNABLE TO REPLACE MY AIRBAGS BECAUSE THEY COULD NOT GET THEM. HOW CAN I GET THESE DANGEROUS AIRBAGS REPLACED IF THE DEALER WHERE I BOUGHT THE TRUCK WILL NOT REPLACE THEM?

CHAPTER 11 CASE NUMBER 17-11375 THAT TAKATA WILL THROUGH VARIOUS LEGAL CORPORATE MANEUVERS TAKATA AND THIRD PARTIES SUCH AS THE MANUFACTURER WOULD BE RELEASED FROM ANY SUBSEQUENT CLAIMS DUE TO THEIR FAULTY NEGLIGENCE. THE LETTER I RECEIVED FROM GM 7/2016 DECLARES VEHICLE IS SAFE TO DRIVE. NO PARTS ARE AVAILABLE FOR REPLACEMENT UNDER GM RECALL 49152

WHILE DRIVING AT A LOW RATE OF SPEED EXITING A PARKWAY, ANOTHER VEHICLE DROVE THROUGH A LIGHT AND CRASHED INTO THE FRONT OF THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE. NONE OF THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED BACK PAINS, HEADACHES, AND ISSUES WITH BALANCE AFTER THE CRASH. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN TO THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE AND PARKED. THE INSURANCE COMPANY WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND WAS TO INVESTIGATE THE CRASH. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBERS: 16V381000 (AIR BAGS) AND 16V383000 (AIR BAGS). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE CRASH. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE.

TAKATA RECALL I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP. THEY SAID THAT GM HAS STILL NOT ISSUED A FIX FOR THE AIR BAG PROBLEM.

TAKATA RECALL. RECEIVED LEGAL NOTICE THAT I SHOULD CONTACT NEAREST DEALERSHIP TO SCHEDULE A FREE REPAIR OF THE AIRBAG INFLATORS. I WAS TOLD THE DEALERSHIP DID NOT HAVE THE EQUIPMENT TO REPLACE THE AIRBAGS. I AM PUTTING MY FAMILY AND MYSELF AT RISK DUE TO THE RECALL.

I RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE JULY 2016 AND ATTEMPTED TO CONTACT THE DEALER ON MORE THAN ONE OCCASION TO SCHEDULE THIS VEHICLE FOR REPAIRS, TODAY 11/7/2017 BEING THE MOST RECENT AND WAS TOLD THE RECALL WAS "OPEN" AND THE PARTS WEREN'T AVAILABLE. THIS TRUCK IS MY SON'S AND HE IS 3 1/2 HOURS AWAY AT COLLEGE. HE SPENDS HOURS DRIVING BACK AND FORTH HOME A FEW TIMES A MONTH. I AM CONCERNED ABOUT THE SAFETY OF THIS VEHICLE. NOTHING HAS HAPPENED YET BUT I DON'T THINK THIS RECALL IS BEING TAKEN CARE OF IN A TIMELY MANNER.

"TAKATA RECALL". I SPOKE TO A CHEVROLET DEALERSHIP PERSON (ALL STAR CHEVROLET NORTH, 9352 PLANK ROAD, BATON ROUGE, LA) ABOUT REPLACING MY TRUCK PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG. I FIRST CONTACTED THEM ON NOVEMBER 7, 2017 AND WAS TOLD THE DEVICE WAS NOT AVAILABLE. I CONTACTED THEM AGAIN ON MAY 10, 2018 AND SPOKE WITH AMANDA. AMANDA SAID SHE WOULD CHECK WITH HER MANAGER TO DETERMINE IF THE PART WAS AVAILABLE TO SCHEDULE THE FIX BUT I HAVE NOT BEEN CONTACTED. I DECIDED TO CALL CHEVROLET CUSTOMER ASSISTANCE CENTER (1-800-222-1020) AND I SPOKE WITH JANE. JANE EXPLAINED THAT MY VEHICLE IS NOT PART OF THE RECALL BUT YOUR WEB SITE AND CHEVROLET WEB SITE (HTTP://MY.GM.COM/RECALLS) STATE THAT MY VEHICLE IS PART OF THE 'TAKATA RECALL'. JANE MENTIONED SOMETHING ABOUT CHEVROLET HIRING A THIRD PARTY ENGINEERING FIRM THAT DETERMINED THAT VEHICLES LIKE MINE WAS NOT AFFECTED. I ASKED FOR THIS IN AN EMAIL OR LETTER BUT SHE SAID SHE WAS NOT AUTHORIZED TO RELEASE THIS INFORMATION IN WRITTEN FORM. 'ELECTRICAL ISSUE'. VEHICLE INSTRUMENTATION PANEL COMPLETELY SHUTS DOWN WHILE DRIVING. THIS APPEARS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM WHEN I SEARCH THE INTERNET. TAKATA RECALL. RECEIVED POSTCARD STATING THAT A DEADLINE TO FILE A CLAIM WAS NEARING, AND THAT I SHOULD CALL A DEALERSHIP AS SOON AS POSSIBLE TO SCHEDULE A FREE REPAIR/REPLACEMENT. CALLED ALLEN TILLERY DEALER IN HOT SPRINGS ARKANSAS, WHICH IS WHERE THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED, AND WAS TRANSFERRED TO SERVICE WHERE ALAN ANSWERED AND STATED THAT THEY DID NOT HAVE ANY PARTS AND DID NOT KNOW WHEN THEY WOULD HAVE PARTS. UNABLE TO SCHEDULE A REPAIR DUE TO LACK OF PARTS. THEY STATED THAT I SHOULD GET A LETTER SAYING WHEN TO APPLY FOR PARTS. THIS POSTCARD I HAVE SAYS TO CALL MY DEALER AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. WHAT TO DO?

TAKATA RECALL...I WAS NOTIFIED IN JULY 2016 OF A RECALL ON TAKATA AIRBAG INFLATORS INSTALLED IN MY VEHICLE. THIS RECALL STATED THAT THE PROPELLANT IN THE INFLATOR CAN DEGRADE OVER TIME, ESPECIALLY AFTER LONG TERM EXPOSURE IN HOT AND HUMID REGIONS. WHEN THIS PROPELLANT DEGRADES TO A CERTAIN LEVEL, THE INFLATOR CAN RUPTURE DURING DEPLOYMENT, CAUSING SERIOUS OR FATAL INJURIES. AS OF NOVEMBER 2017, THERE IS STILL NO REMEDY AVAILABLE FOR THIS RECALL FOR A DEFECTIVE ITEM THAT COULD RESULT IN DEATH FOR ME OR MY FAMILY. I HAVE CALLED ABOUT THE AVAILABILITY OF A REMEDY SEVERAL TIMES, WITH THE MOST RECENT CALL TAKING PLACE IN AUGUST 2017, WHEN I WAS ASSURED THAT THE SOLUTION WOULD BE AVAILABLE BY THE END OF OCTOBER. IT IS STILL NOT AVAILABLE. I LIVE IN ALABAMA AND HAVE OWNED MY TRUCK FOR 7 YEARS, SO MY AIRBAG PROPELLANT HAS BEEN EXPOSED TO THE EXACT CONDITIONS AND LENGTH OF EXPOSURE THAT COULD RESULT IN DEATH AS STATED IN THE RECALL FURTHERMORE, IT ANGERS ME THAT THE RECALL STATES THAT THIS PROPELLANT, WHEN EXPOSED TO HOT AND HUMID CONDITIONS FOR AN EXTENDED PERIOD OF TIME, COULD RESULT IN DEATH BUT THEN GOES ON TO STATE THAT "THE VEHICLE IS PRESENTLY SAFE TO DRIVE". I THINK THAT GM AND TAKATA HAVE HAD PLENTY OF TIME TO ESTABLISH A REMEDY FOR THE PROBLEM. IT IS OBVIOUS TO ME THAT NEITHER COMPANY CARES ABOUT THE SAFETY OF THEIR CUSTOMERS. SOME ACTION NEEDS TO BE TAKEN AGAINST THESE COMPANIES TO ENSURE THAT THEY TAKE ACTION TO REPAIR THESE POTENTIALLY DEADLY PROBLEMS.

TAKATA RECALL. I RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE A COUPLE OF YEARS AGO. I CALLED THE LOCAL CHEVROLET DEALER AFTER RECEIVING THIS LEGAL NOTICE CONCERNING VEHICLES WITH TAKATA AIRBAGS ON 11/2/2017. I WAS TOLD BY THE DEALERSHIP THAT TAKATA HAS NOT ISSUED REPAIR PARTS FOR THIS PARTICULAR RECALL. WHAT DO I DO TO GET MY VEHICLE REPAIRED? AT THIS TIME THERE HAS NOT BEEN AN INJURY. I HAVE NOT BEEN INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT. I UNDERSTAND THAT THE AIRBAG CAN CAUSE SERIOUS INJURY IF THE AIRBAG GOES OFF. PLEASE HELP.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE REPAIRS WERE NOT BEING COMPLETED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 97,000. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.
RECEIVED RECALL NOTICE GM RECALL 49152, NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE TO RESOLVE CALLED GM AND NOTHING WILL BE DONE. I HAVE A 'SERVICE AIR BAG' WARNING ON DASHBOARD AND I HAVE TO PAY OUT OF MY POCKET TO GET RESOLVED IN ORDER TO GET INSPECTION STICKER. THE RECALL STATES THAT SERIOUS OR FATAL INJURIES MAY OCCUR. GM NEEDS TO DO SOMETHING TO FIX THIS. THIS RECALL IS NOR 1-1/2 YEARS OLD & NO ACTIONS HAVE BEEN TAKEN BY GM TO FIX THIS RECALL.
GENERAL MOTORS IS STILL NOT WILLING TO REPAIR THE PROBLEM . MEANWHILE I AM RUNNING DOWN THE ROAD WITH A POTENTIAL BOMB IN MY VEHICLE . THEY ARE EVEN RUFUSING TO DISARM IT !
