the warning lights occur frequently when the truck is idling and then disappears and reappears while driving. The “Service Stabilitrak” light will usually appear first and then the car will turn traction control off. Once traction control is turned off, the transmission beings to shift very hard and rough. Additionally, Loss of engine power and or limp mode are also symptoms in addition to very hard shifting.

A SAFETY RECALL WAS ISSUED FOR THE PASSENGER-SIDE FRONTAL AIRBAG INFLATOR. RECALL SERVICE WAS PERFORMED ON 04-12-2021 AT PARKWAY CHEVROLET IN TOMBALL, TX. THE DASH WAS CRACKED AND BROKEN WHEN THE SERVICE TECHNICIAN REMOVED THE COVER FOR THE AIRBAG.

STEERING ANGLE SENSOR IS FAULTY. THIS IS AN INTEGRAL PART OF THE VEHICLE SAFETY SYSTEMS, INCLUDING ABS, AND TRACTION/ STABILITY CONTROL. HOW CAN THIS PART BE NO LONGER MANUFACTURED AFTER ONLY 9 YEARS? ALL SAFETY CONTROLS SHUT OFF WHILE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION.
INCREDIBLE AMOUNT OF FRAME RUST. VEHICLE ONLY HAS 22500 MILES BUT HAS EXTENSIVE FRAME RUST AND FRONT SWAY BAR FRAME SEPARATION. ALSO HEAVILY RUSTED BRAKE LINES. I HAVE ALREADY REPLACED TRANSMISSION SHIFTER PAWL AND TRANSMISSION COOLING LINES. I SEE WIDELY POSTED OCCURRENCE ON YOUTUBE & SOCIAL MEDIA. WAS DRIVING DOWN 95 BY HOWLAND MAINE WHEN MY AIRBAG LIGHT CAME ON , I PULLED OVER SHUT TRUCK OFF AND RESTARTED IT STILL DIDN'T GO AWAY, SO I DECIDED TO JUST DRIVE IT RIGHT TO GARAGE WE'RE I FOUNDED OUT IT COULD BE A FEW THINGS, SO I GOT 2 BRAND NEW AIRBAG SENSORS BUT AFTER WE PUT THEM IN, IT STILL DIDN'T GO OFF. BUT I SEEN WE'RE YOUR COMPANY PUT THIS AIRBAG RECALL OUT. I WAS WONDERING IF THAT COULD BE WHY? I GOT PAPERWORK WE'RE WE PUT SENSORS IN.
I HAVE CALLED THE LOCAL DEALER CLASSIC CHEVY FOR 4 YEARS NOW ABOUT THE RECALL ON THE AIRBAG THAT COULD CAUSE INJURY OR DEATH AND ALL THEY WILL SAY IS THEY CAN';T GET THE PART TO FIX THIS. IS THIS CORRECT AND IF SO WHAY IS THIS NOT FIXED YET?
I have had the Tire Pressure indicator that tells the tire pressure of all four tire replaced several times. John L Sullivan Chevrolet in Roseville California keeps telling me that they are wearing out do to use. But the truck only has 70K in mileage and I they malfunction all the time. I get readings of 99 lbs of air pressure. Then the same tire will say 0 lbs of pressure. And it will say 7, then 29 then 18 lbs of air pressure in a distance of 2 blocks traveled. This is a malfunction due to faulty parts in the GM tire pressure reading system and they need to fix it. If I take it to the Chevy dealer, they want to charge me $209 to per tire to replace them and then they still do not work after they replace them Still get crazy tire pressure readings and it warnings flashing on my instrument panel that are distracting and dangerous. It does not flashes every 5 seconds that I have a tire pressure issue and it needs to get resolved. But Chevrolet will not do anything but charge money of there problem with their truck part that is malfunctioning.

DASH COVER KEEPS CRACKING I'VE TALKED TO OTHERS SILVERADO TRUCK OWNERS AND THEY HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM THE TRUCK IS NOT IN MOTION WHEN THIS HAPPENS . IT'S AN ON GOING OCCURRENCE
DASH IS CRACKING EVERYWHERE
WHEN REPLACING THE FUEL PUMP THE MECHANIC NOTED THAT THE FRAME HAD SERIOUS RUST CORROSION AND ALSO THE BRAKE LINES HAD SERIOUS RUST ISSUES.

The contact stated that he noticed a crack on the passenger’s side dashboard that later expanded throughout the dashboard. The middle defrosts vent had collapsed because of the crack on the dashboard. There was no impact on the dashboard that could have caused the crack. The contact was concerned that the dashboard would be damaged more if the air bag recall repair was performed. The dealer was made aware of the failure but informed the contact that the vehicle was out of warranty coverage. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The contact attempted to notify the manufacturer but was unable to speak with a live representative. The failure mileage was 188,472.
I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE NEW AND HAVE SEEN NOTICES REGARDING PROBLEMS WITH THE TYPE OF AIR BAGS IT HAS FOR YEARS BUT UNABLE TO HAVE THE PROBLEM ADDRESSED. OTHERS I KNOW WITH THE SAME AIRBAGS HAVE HAD THEM SUCCESSFULLY REPLACED BY THE DEALER OF THEIR VEHICLES, SUCH AS HONDA AND NISSAN, ETC. IT MAKES NO SENSE THAT AN AMERICAN MANUFACTURER KEEPS OBTAINING EXCEPTIONS AND WAIVERS TO CORRECT THIS SAFETY ISSUE. I AM VERY CONCERNED AS I LIVE IN A HIGH HEAT, HIGH HUMIDITY AREA, FLORIDA, WHICH IS SAID TO EXACERBATE THE PROBLEM. IT IMPERATIVE THE AIRBAGS BE REPLACED IMMEDIATELY. FREQUENTLY WHEN DRIVING TRUCK WILL DO SOME OR ALL OF THE FOLLOWING THINGS, DOOR LOCKS LOCKING AND UNLOCKING, DASH LIGHTS FLASHING, STEREO COMING ON AND OFF, ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL TURNS OFF, ALL LIGHTS, EXTERIOR AND INTERIOR, TURN OFF AND ON SOMETIMES STAYING OFF LONG ENOUGH AT NIGHT WILL SCARE YOU, TRUCK SPEEDS UP BUT THEN SOMETIMES LOSING POWER. ALL OF THOSE THINGS HAPPEN WHEN THE TRUCK IS IN MOTION. I DRIVE ON THE HIGHWAY EVERY DAY WHICH IS BAD WHEN TRUCK DOES THESE THINGS. NOT A SAFE SITUATION FOR ME. I CAME BACK FROM WORK AND THE DASH IS CRACKED. DOORS WERE LOCKED. *TR
This truck has the 5.3L engine with the Active Fuel Management system. I took the truck in for the 55,000 service on 02/04/2020. A month later with 56,000 miles, I had to take the truck in for something. At that time, I found out the truck had used up 2 1/2 qts of oil in 1,000 miles. Never had a problem using oil between the 5,000 mile service intervals before. Their are no leaks anywhere. The dealer had me bring the truck in every 1,000 miles for oil consumption checks for 4 times. The last time it showed a 1/2 qt usage. I had the 60,000 mile service. Then at 62,390 on 01/26/2022 I had some lifter noise. Checked the oil and found it had used 4 qts in 2,390. I had been told that the 2009-2011 Chevy 5.3L engines with the AFM had problems using oil starting around 60,000 miles. 4 qts of oil usage in 2,390 miles is not right.
THE DASH ON THE PASSENGER SIDE IS CRACKED AND COULD HURT SOMEONE IF THE AIRBAGS WERE TO DEPLOY. THIS IS A VERY COMMON ISSUE WITH THE 2009 SILVERADO. ALSO, THE LIFTERS ARE VERY BAD AND WILL STOP WORKING IF THE AFM ISN'T TURNED OFF. I THOUGHT MY ENGIE WAS DEAD WHEN GOING 70 AND THE LIFTER GO OUT. LOST ALL POWER AND HAD TO TOW IT TO A SHOP. THIS HAS HAPPENED TWICE.

WHILE DRIVING ON I 81 THE TRUCK WENT INTO REDUCED POWER MODE AND VIOLENTLY WENT FROM 70 MILES PER HOUR TO 10 MILES PER HOUR. THIS MODE IS VERY DANGEROUS! FORTY PERCENT OF THE TRAFFIC ON I 81 IS TRACTOR TRAILER. I'M SCARED TO DRIVE THIS VEHICLE. THE MECHANIC TELLS ME THIS IS VERY EXPENSIVE TO REPAIR AS THERE ARE MANY THINGS THAT AN CAUSE THIS CONDITION TO OCCUR!!

ENGINE DOESN'T START. RARE AND INTERMITTENT. NO CLICKS OR ATTEMPT TO START, LIGHTS ARE ON AND GO OFF WHEN KEY TURNED TO START. NOTHING APPEARS TO HELP IE MOVING DRIVE SELECTOR, ENGAGING/RELEASING E-BRAKE, STEPPING ON BRAKE PEDAL, OPENING/CLOSING HOOD ETC WAIT SOME UNKNOWN PERIOD OF TIME, MORE THAN 10 MINUTES AND IT STARTS AS THOUGH NOTHING EVER HAPPENED. I'VE LOOKED INTO IT ONLINE ENOUGH TO KNOW OTHERS HAVE SIMILAR PROBLEMS BUT HAVEN'T FOUND A SOLUTION. MAYBE NOT BE AS SAFETY RELATED AS IS NEEDED BUT I CAN THINK OF A FEW SCENARIOS THAT COULD BE DANGEROUS. THANKS
