NOTE-We are visiting DE, but reside in Virginia. I recently experienced problems with my "Wheel Speed Sensor System" on my 2014 Chevy Silverado, LT, 5.3L V8 4WD, Crew Cab. My local garage in DE (our Condo is in DE- our home-residence is Virginia) looked at the vehicle and said I was having a problem with the wheel speed sensors partially locking up my brakes and causing a drag when driving. The garage in Newark, DE- Littles Garage told me that their system said there was a recall on my vehicle and that I'd need to have service done at a Chevrolet Dealership at no cost. I went to 2 Dealerships who stated my Truck's VIN did not show up in their system as having any active recalls. Reading the Recall notice, I see that GM contacted the Dealerships directly (I guess not to make the recall public) who have/had sold this vehicle with instructions to contact owners directly; however, I purchased the Vehicle in SC from a Ford Dealership in 2017. Since RECALL # N192261050 is stated as a safety problem that could cause my truck to be a dangerous safety hazard that could cause serious damage and even death to occupants of the vehicle. I understand from my garage that the issue is intermittent once discovered, even as I have not experienced anything for about a week, and it can re-appear at any time. You can understand that I need the NHTSA to help me resolve this issue and if I am deserving of a Recall Fix, to help me with Dealerships in DE. NuCar Chevrolet of New Castle, DE has been recommended to me by Littles Garage as one of the best Chevy Dealerships. NOTE I am visiting DE and need to get back to Virginia shortly (I'm hesitant to drive this vehicle at highway speeds). I appreciate any help to resolve these issues and to possibly help me to have a Dealership in DE provide me the applicable safety fix in accordance with the subject Recall.
Vehicle has intermitten reduced engine display while traveling down the high way. Causes the vehicle to downshift and significantly increase engine RPM. I’m fearing if this continues to happen it will blow up my engine. The ecu shows code p2138. After some research I’ve learned GM is aware of this fsult in their vehicles and I believe they should be the one paying for their mistake. Not me.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING WITH THE CRUISE CONTROL ACTIVATED TO 55 MPH BUT RECORDED GOING 6-8 MPH ABOVE THE CRUISE CONTROL SETTING. THE CONTACT STATED NO WARNING LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO LOCAL DEALER CANTU CHEVROLET SALES & SERVICE (805 E RILEY ST, FREER, TX 78357 (800) 741-1494) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED WITH "NEEDING A PROGRAMMER TO REPROGRAM THE SPEEDOMETER". THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS INFORMED OF FAILURE AND DID NOT PROVIDE FURTHER ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 52,000. *DT*JB

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING 45 MPH, THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED AND THE VEHICLE FAILED TO ACCELERATE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO LOCAL DEALER FELDMAN CHEVROLET OF LANSING (2801 E MICHIGAN AVE, LANSING, MI 48912, (517) 507-4948) WHERE THE FAILURE WAS UNABLE TO BE DETERMINED. THE CONTACT STATED HE CONTINUED TO EXPERIENCE THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 64,000. *JS
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500. WHILE DRIVING AT 15-20 MPH AND APPROACHING A STOP LIGHT, THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED AND THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED INTO THE TRAFFIC. IN ADDITION, THE VEHICLE THEN STALLED. THE CONTACT STATED THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO BE RE STARTED AND PUT IN INTO REVERSE. THE DEALER WAS CONTACT LOCATED AT ( DEACON JONES LOCATED: 1615 SUNSET AVE, CLINTON, NC 28328) WHERE THE TECHNICIAN INFORMED THAT AN UNKNOWN PART FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER HAD NOT BEEN CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 51,000.
WHILE MOVING FROM A STOP THE TRUCK SOMETIMES LAGS IN ACCELERATION WHICH MAY CAUSE THE OPERATOR TO DEPRESS THE ACCELERATOR FURTHER THAN REQUIRED TO ENTER TRAFFIC. THIS CONDITION ALSO MAY CAUSE A SHORT ACCELERATION DELAY WHEN PULLING INTO TRAFFIC THAT CAN BE UNEXPECTED BY THE OPERATOR. I HAVE BEEN SURPRISED MANY TIMES BY THIS OPERATOR DISCONNECT ACCELERATING FROM A STATIONARY POSITION. AFTER DRIVING MY NEW TRUCK 900 MILES I INVESTIGATED THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL ASSEMBLY BRACKET TO FIND THAT THE ENTIRE BRACKET IS NOT PROPERLY FASTENED STRUCTURALLY TO THE FIRE WALL BY DESIGN. I INSPECTED MY TRUCK ON 12/23/14 AND FOUND THIS PROBLEM, THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL BRACKET FLEX ON MY TRUCK LOOKS TO BE ~3/4" TO 1" BEFORE THE ELECTRONIC LINKAGE ENGAGES. THE PEDAL TIP-IN ENGAGEMENT HAS TO FLEX THE MOUNTING BRACKET BEFORE THE ELECTRONIC ACCELERATION SWITCH ENGAGES. I CAN'T BELIEVE THE GM ENGINEERING AND DESIGN TEAM'S WOULD APPROVE OF SUCH A FLIMSY MOUNTING BRACKET FOR THIS IMPORTANT PART OF BASIC MOTOR VEHICLE OPERATION. I FEEL OVER TIME AND USAGE THAT THIS BRACKET MAY COMPLETELY FAIL AS CURRENTLY DESIGNED. I COULD SHIM AND INSTALL ADDITIONAL HARDWARE TO CORRECT THIS SAFETY ISSUE, BUT I FEEL THIS DESIGN ISSUE SHOULD BE ADDRESSED WITH GM BEFORE SOMEONE HAS A CRASH OR WORST. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 CHEVROLET SILVERADO. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 50 MPH, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO ACCELERATE WHEN THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED. THE CONTACT SHIFTED THE VEHICLE INTO PARK AND THE VEHICLE RESUMED NORMAL OPERATION. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 700.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING 20 MPH, THE STEERING WHEEL CEASED. THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED SEVERAL TIMES BUT FAILED TO ADEQUATELY STOP THE VEHICLE WHICH EXTENDED THE BRAKING DISTANCE. THERE WERE NO WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO LYNN SMITH CHEVROLET LOCATED AT (925 N BURLESON BLVD, BURLESON, TX 76028) WHERE THE VEHICLE RECEIVED UNKNOWN REPAIRS HOWEVER, THE FAILURE PERSISTED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS THE BRAKES ACTIVATED INDEPENDENTLY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 90,000.
2014 CHEVROLET SILVERADO. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO MALFUNCTION OF PEDAL ADJUSTMENT. *SMD THE CONSUMER STATED THE CARGO LIGHT BUTTON AND PEDAL ADJUSTMENT BUTTON DID NOT WORK, ONLY A DAY AFTER PURCHASING THE VEHICLE. THE CONSUMER AND HER HUSBAND THEN DECIDED TO TAKE A DRIVE. WHEN HER HUSBAND PUT THE TRUCK IN REVERSE, AND LIKE HE ALWAYS DID, HE SLOWLY TOOK HIS FOOT OFF THE BRAKE, AND LET THE TRUCK IDLE BACKWARDS. HOWEVER, WHEN HE DID, THE BRAKE PEDAL IMMEDIATELY ADJUSTED UP FOR A VERY SHORT PERSON AND THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR, AND THE VEHICLE SHOT OUT OF THE GARAGE VERY FAST. THE CONSUMER WAS INFORMED BOTH PEDALS ADJUSTED TOGETHER, BUT THAT WASN'T THE WAY IT SEEMED. HE IMMEDIATELY TRIED TO HIT THE BRAKE, BUT IT WAS ADJUSTED UP SO HIGH, HE COULDN'T GET HIS FOOT ON IT, UNTIL THEY WERE ALMOST THROUGH THE CARPORT AND THE VEHICLE STRUCK ONE OF THE STEEL POSTS OF THE CARPORT, DOING SEVERAL THOUSANDS DOLLARS OF DAMAGE. THE NEXT MORNING, THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER, FOR AN INSPECTION. THE NEXT DAY, THE DEALER CALLED, STATING THEY WERE UNABLE TO FIND A PROBLEM. ALSO, THE NAVIGATION SYSTEM WOULD NOT SAVE AN ADDRESS. UPDATED 03/27/14
