Paint failure
The contact owns a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated while driving approximately 45 MPH, there was smoke and an abnormal sound coming from the rear of the vehicle; and the rear window cracked. No warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken back to the residence and was not diagnosed. The contact researched and was made aware of an undisclosed recall; however, the VIN was not included. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and confirmed that the VIN was not under recall. The failure mileage was approximately 98,000.
Frame is rotted in three locations drivers side near gas tank It will not pass inspection I bought it used 2 years ago for my son to use for driving to college. I am very upset and will never buy another GMC /Chevy vehicle again
The frame for my 2015 Chevy Silverado truck failed inspection for excessive rust on the frame, all around it. It could not even be put on a lift. Other Chevy Silverados have been recalled for this rampant issue and yet not this particular model. It is not safe to drive, it's an expensive problem to fix and very unfair the Chevy is not taking responsibility for it.
Wax coating is evaporating exposing bare metal on the frame. This is the OEM coating and its failure will result premature degradation of the frame of the truck.
The contact owns a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that there was rust forming on the rear of the vehicle towards the wheel wells and near the rear doors. The contact noticed the rust had been spreading quickly. The contact stated that the vehicle was taken to a certified mechanic who stated that the rust seemed premature. Additionally, paint damage was noticed around the area that might have contributed to the rust. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 181,000.
this is a cosmetic complaint the paint is peeling
Back window glass shattered when shutting drivers side door. Happened on the 26th of February 2022, Illinois is still very cold in February, thankfully no passengers were in the back seat. Had to drive home very slow as not to drop glass on the highway. Found a Program Bulletin on the internet, bulletin No: 14815 from a Customer Satisfaction Program that stated this could happen due to structurally weakened glass by GM. We contacted GM and they said our Vin # was not on a recall list. We contacted our Insurance company and are waiting on a new glass to be installed. No warnings of any kind.
PAINT IS PEELING AND FLAKING IN MULTIPLE SPOTS ON MY TRUCK. GM WILL NOT DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT BECAUSE IT'S AFTER 3 YR OR 36000 MILES. THIS IS A VERY POPULAR PROBLEM WITH THIS YEAR OF CHEVY TRUCKS. IT'S ALL OVER VEHICLE WEBSITES. IT'S A BAD PATCH OF PAINT OR PRIMER ISSUE. GM TOLD ME IT'S MAINTENANCE AFTER THE PAINT WARRANTY IS UP. THE SPOTS ARE INSIDE MY TAILGATE AND NEXT THE WINDSHIELD. TWO SPOTS WHERE IT IS ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE FOR CHIPS TO HAPPEN FROM DRIVING. THIS IS A GM PROBLEM! THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL. I'M SURE THEY KNOW THERE IS A MAJOR PROBLEM. THEY NEED TO FIX IT. THEY ARE LOSING CHEVY CUSTOMERS.
PAINT IS PEELING OFF NEAR BACK WINDOWS ON BOTH SIDES OF THE TRUCK.
I AM SEEING EXTREME AMOUNT OF CLEARCOAT PEELING ALL AROUND VEHICLE. APPEARS TO BE SPECIFIC TO THIS VEHICLE PAINT PROCESS. PROFESSIONAL PAINT SHOP SAYS POOR PAINT JOB. DEALER WON'T HELP. GM WON'T HELP. I SEE MANY OTHERS ONLINE THAT HAVE SAME PROBLEM. MY TRUCK IS IN PERFECT CONDITION. I OWN OTHER GM CARS WITH NO PROBLEMS. I WANT HELP FROM DEALER TO FIX (COLLEGE CHEVROLET, ALBION, MI 49224).
THIS PICTURE REPRESENTS SOME OF THE PAINT LOSS ON THE 2015 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500 CREW CAB. I BOUGHT THIS VEHICLE BRAND NEW AND HAVE NEVER BEEN IN THE SNOW. THERE'S NO WAY THAT A VEHICLE SHOULD HAVE PAINT PEELING OR HAVE EXPOSED METAL.
The contact owns a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that there was a water leak coming from the driver’s side floor of the vehicle and extending to the rear driver’s side floor. The contact took the vehicle to an independent mechanic however, the cause was of the failure was not found. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 34,000.
I OWN A 2015 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500 LTZ IN MAROON RED. I HAVE NOTICED THE CLEAR COAT THROUGHOUT ALMOST EVERY PANEL OF THE TRUCK IS PEELING IN LARGE BUBBLES. THE HOOD IS ESPECIALLY BAD ABOVE THE GRILL. EACH DOOR BELOW THE CHROME STRIP ALONG THE LOWER KICK PLATE IS ESPECIALLY BAD. EACH WASH OF THE VEHICLE MAKES IT WORSE. SADLY, LOOKING AT EACH AREA, A SMALL PIT TO THE METAL IS VISIBLE; ALMOST AS IF EVERY ROCK CHIP/SCRATCH IS MAKING IT WORSE.
PAINT STARTED BUBBLING AND CRACKING OFF. IT IS VERY OBVIOUS THAT THE PAINT DID NOT ADHERE TO THE PRIMER. I HAVE 32000 MILES. MOSTLY DRIVE ON THE WEEKENDS BECAUSE I WORK ACROSS THE STREET FROM MY HOUSE. I DO NOT DO ANY OFF-ROAD DRIVING. THERE IS NO REASON FOR THE PAINT TO PEEL.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500. WHILE THE CONTACT'S HUSBAND WAS WASHING THE VEHICLE, HE NOTICED THE PAINT WAS CHIPPING NEAR THE FRONT DRIVER'S DOOR AND HOOD. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE DEALER (BILL MACINTYRE CHEVROLET BUICK, 10 E WALNUT ST, LOCK HAVEN, PA 17745, (866) 608-5724) WAS CONTACTED AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN A RECALL AND THE EXTENDED WARRANTIES HAD EXPIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT TO CALL NHTSA AND FILE A COMPLAINT. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 67,000.
THE PAINT IS PEELING/FLAKING OFF.
NOTICED PAINT IS FLAKING ON PASSENGER REAR DOOR NEXT TO THE WINDOW NOW THE OTHER DOOR ON THE DRIVERS SIDE IS NOW PEELING. DEALER WILL NOT FIX PROBLEM DUE TO TRUCK BEING OUT OF WARRANTY BY 3,000 MILES.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE PAINT ON THE REAR PASSENGER DOOR WAS PEELING AND THE ROOF WAS RUSTED. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT CALLED AND SENT A PHOTO TO GARY RUSS CHEVROLET (1420 SC-72, GREENWOOD, SC 29649, (864) 538-4260), BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT COVERED UNDER A WARRANTY. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,000.
THE PAINT ON THIS TRUCK HAS BEGUN TO PEEL IN A COUPLE SPOTS. GM ISN'T WILLING TO FULLY COVER THIS AS THEY SAY IT IS OUT OF WARRANTY. A 4 YEAR OLD VEHICLE SHOULDN'T HAVE PAINT ISSUES LIKE THIS, ESPECIALLY WHEN IT IS A COMMON OCCURRENCE WITH THIS MODEL YEAR.
