ONGOING SAFETY ISSUE...VEHICLE LOOSES POWER, STEERING, BRAKING, ALL OTHER DEVICES INACTIVE, DRIVING SAFETY OF OCCUPANTS AND OTHERS RELEVANT WHEN DRIVER HAS NO CONTROL DUE TO DEFECT. CHEVY MECHANICS BELIEVE MIGHT BE STEERING SYSTEM SUCH AS IGNITION AND LOCKING ELEMENTS, DUE TO GRINDING NOISE BEFORE VEHICLE LOOSES POWER AND OTHER PARTS LOCK UP, CHEVY TECHS THOUGHT MIGHT BE RACE AND PINION, MIGHT BE ELECTRICAL, MIGHT BE WHATEVER, THEY ARE UNABLE TO CONCLUSIVELY DETERMINE THIS CRITICAL SAFETY DEFECT IN TRUCK. CHEVY TECHS HAVE COMMENTED THEY ARE SKEPTICAL ABOUT LETTING ANYONE DRIVE UNTIL RESOLVED. INVESTMENT HUGH WITH LOSS OF USE AND FINDING OTHER TRANSPORTATION. WHY OWN IT. GM NEEDS TO REIMBURSE COST AND REPLACE. THIS IS A SIGNIFICANT LIABILITY. ALL ASPECTS OF NON FUNCTIONING PARTS DON'T GENERATE ERROR CODES, AND THIS INCIDENT HAS REOCCURRED OVER EIGHT TIMES IN FIVE DAYS. THIS REQUIRES ACTION BY GM, WHERE IS IT. LOANER VEHICLE NOT SUFFICIENT REPLACEMENT FOR INVESTMENT. SAFETY ISSUE COMMENCED ON MARCH 16, TOWED MULTIPLE TIMES, BEEN TO TWO DEALERS, INITIAL MORE THAN 200 MILES FROM HOME, AND CURRENT DEALER WHERE PURCHASED WITH 25 MILES OF HOME.
UPON ACCELERATING AFTER TRAFFIC LIGHT, POWER FAILS, STEERING LOCKS FOLLOWING GRINDING CLANKING SOUND IN STEERING COLUMN. ALSO OCCURS SAME SYMPTOMS IN ATTEMPT TO MOVE GEAR SHIFT TO PARK POSITION. MORE FREQUENT DOING THIS PROCEDURE. KEY MOVES BY ITSELF TO ORIGINALLY INPUT POSITION IN PROCESS OF LOCKING STEERING. THIS DEFECT OCCURRED EIGHT TIMES WITHIN FIVE DAYS, REQUIRING TOWING, AND BEING STRANDED. VEHICLE DELIVERED BY TOW SERVICE TO NEAREST CHEVY DEALER ON FIRST FEW FAILURES, VEHICLE RETURNED TO ORIGINAL DEALER 230 MILES AWAY NEAR OWNERS HOME AT COST OF OWNER. ORIGINAL DEALER BELIEVES DEFECT IS POTENTIALLY LIGNITION LOCKING SYSTEM, ATTEMPTING TO VERIFY AT THIS PERIOD. THIS MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE OF LOOSING POWER AND SYSTEMS LOCKING UP JEOPARDIZE OCCUPANTS AND OTHERS LIVES.AGAIN OCCURRENCES WERE AT VERY LOW SPEED OR IN MOTION OF PARKING.
PURCHASED TRUCK IN FEBRUARY 2017 NEW HAD 100 MILES ON IT NOW HAS 4435 MILES ON IT NOW IT'S BEEN IN THE DEALER 3 TIMES FOR VIBRATION ITSO GOING BACK FOR A 4TH TIME FOR THEVERYONE SAME ISSUE BEEN TO 2 DIFFERENT DEALERS HAS HAD 1 TIRE REPLACED ON RIGHT FRONT AND 1 RIM REPLACED ON RIGHT REAR STILL HAVE VIBRATION ISSUE THE THE DEALER IS PURCHASED IT AT SAID THERE'S NOTHING WRONG WITH IT TOOK TO 2ND DEALER THEY FOUND THE ISSUES WITH IT IT STILL HAS VIBRATION AT 55 MPH TO 70 MPH AND DEVELOPED A BAD VIBRATION AT IDLE WHEN IN PARK AND GM IS INVOLVED
I PURCHASED A 2016 SILVERADO LT LEFTOVER IN FEB OF 2017 WITH 44 MILES ON IT. I NOTICED A VIBRATION WHILE ACCELERATING AND DECELERATION AND AT ABOUT 70-80 MPH. I FIGURED IT WAS THE GM FACTORY 22 INCH RALLY 2 EDITION WHEELS BEING IN BALANCED AND SINCE I WAS CHANGING THE WHEELS AND TIRES AT 1000 MILES ANYWAY I FIGURED IT WOULD GO AWAY. SINCE PUTTING ON THE NEW TIRES AND WHEELS THE PROBLEM IS STILL THERE AND I HAVE HAD IT AT A GM DEALER TWICE AND MY THIRD APPOINTMENT IN ON 4-5-17 AT A DIFFERENT DEALER SINCE THE FIRST ONE DOES NOT SEEM TO BELIEVE ME WHEN I SAID IT WAS HAPPENING WITH THE STOCK WHEELS AND TIRES. THIS MAKES DRIVING A 50 PLUS THOUSAND TRUCK NOT ENJOYABLE AT ALL.
THE TRUCK HAS A VIBRATION ISSUE THAT MY CHEVY DEALER CAN NOT CORRECT. TIRES HAVE BEEN BALANCED. STILL HAVE THE ISSUE. THEY INSTALLED 4 NEW TIRES AND RIMS AND STILL HAVE THE VIBRATION.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH, THE VEHICLE SHOOK AND VIBRATED. WHEN DRIVING ABOVE 65 MPH, THE VEHICLE SHOOK VIOLENTLY AND VIBRATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS. THE DEALER REPLACED THE TIRES AND ROTATED THE WHEELS, BUT THE FAILURES CONTINUED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 10,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO BOCH CHEVROLET (381 PROVIDENCE HWY, NORWOOD, MA 02062, (781) 332-4226) SEVERAL TIMES. THE WHEELS WERE RE-BALANCED, BUT THE FAILURE OCCURRED WHEN THE DEALER TEST DROVE THE VEHICLE. THE MANAGER STATED THAT THE VEHICLE PERFORMED NORMALLY. THE CONTACT CALLED THE MANUFACTURER, WHO HAD A SENIOR MANAGER LOOK AT THE CASE. THE CONTACT WAS REFERRED HIM TO ANOTHER UNKNOWN DEALER WHERE THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 7,582.
STEERING STIFF IN COLD AND NEVER GETS BETTER AFTER VEHICLE WARMS UP. ANYTIME BELOW 5 DEGREES F. I HAVE HAD IT IN AND THEY HAVE REPLACED THE WHOLE ELECTRONIC STEERING SYSTEM WITH NO HELP TO THE ISSUE. I HAVE READ OTHER FORUMS WHERE OTHERS ARE HAVING THE SAME ISSUE. AT SLOW SPEEDS REQUIRES TWO HANDS TO TURN VEHICLE. VERY DANGEROUS IF IN A PANIC SITUATION. DEALER SAID THERE IS NOTHING ELSE THEY CAN DO. I LIVE IN MN AND HAVE HAD OTHER GM PICKUPS (1999,2010,2013) WITH NO SUCH ISSUES IN THE COLD WEATHER. *TR
WHILE DRIVING THE TRANSMISSION CLUNKS INTO GEAR MANY TIMES. IT WILL CLUNK INTO GEAR WHEN DOWN SHIFTING AND UPSHIFTING AND ALMOST FEELS LIKE A BAD U JOINT BUT ITS THE TRANSMISSION. FEELS VERY SLOPPY. I HAD CHEVROLET LOOK AT IT TWICE AND WAS TOLD THAT ACCORDING TO GM THATS THE WAY ITS SUPPOSED TO BE AND THE THEY ALL SHIFT LIKE THAT. THE SERVICE TECH TOLD ME THAT ITS OBVIOUSLY NOT RIGHT YET GM REFUSES TO ACKNOWLEDGE THE PROBLEM AND HE HAS MANY CUSTOMERS COMPLAINING.
ALL FORMS OF SOUND ON THE VEHICLE STOPS, FOR EXAMPLE THE RADIO SHUTS OFF, TURNING SIGNALS WORK BUT NO SOUND, DOOR SOUNDS, SEATBELT ALARM ETC. NONE OF THESE SOUNDS WORK. THIS HAPPENS ON RANDOM OCCASIONS WHILE DRIVING AND SOMETIMES IT FIXES ITSELF ON OTHER OCCASIONS THE VEHICLE HAS TO BE TURNED OF OR THE BATTERY RESET. SUPPOSEDLY IT WAS ALREADY RESOLVED WHEN TAKEN TO THE DEALER BUT THE ISSUE STILL CONTINUES.
I HAVE HAD THIS HARD JERKING AND SLAMMING OF MY TRANSMISSION IN MY TRUCK SINCE I PURCHASED IT BRAND NEW. IT OCCURS WHEN GOING FROM REVERSE TO DRIVE IT WILL HESITATE AND NOT GO INTO GEAR AND THEN IT SLAMS AND JERKS THE VEHICLE VIOLENTLY WITH A ALOUD CRACK NOISE OF THE GEARS SLAMMING TOGETHER. IT ALSO OCCURS WHEN I AM IN BETWEEN THE SPEED OF 40-50 MPH. I WILL BE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AND THE TRUCK WILL SLAM INTO GEAR WHILE DRIVING. IT ALSO HAD A VERY HIGH IDOL AND SHAKES THE TRUCK. I HAVE BROUGHT MY TRUCK INTO THE CHEVROLET DEALERSHIP FOR THESE ISSUE 5+ TIMES NOW AND CONTACTS THE GM TO HELP GET MY ISSUE SOLVED AND THEY JUST CAN'T NOT FIX THE ISSUE. I DON'T WANT TO GET STRANDED WITH MY FAMILY IF THE TRANSMISSION DECIDED TO BREAK OR CAUSE TROUBLE. I HAVE HAD MULTIPLE OCCURRENCES OF THIS ISSUE HAPPENING.
THE DEFROST FUNCTION DOES NOT PREVENT ICE BULID UP ON WINDSHIELD AND BLOCKS DRIVER VISION. CLEARS PASSENGER SIDE WINDSHIELD WELL ENOUGH. BUT WITH DEFROST FAN SPEED AT THE HIGHEST LEVEL, AND THE HEAT TEMPERATURE AS HIGH AS I COULD STAND IT, AND WINDSHIELD WIPERS OPERATING, WAS UNABLE TO PREVENT ICE BUILD UP AND BLOCKING DRIVERS VISION. WHEN DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. NEVER HAD A VEHICEL THAT HAD SUCH WEIRD ICE BUILD UP PATTERN.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY, THE DEFROSTER WOULD NOT MELT THE ICE ON THE WINDSHIELD. AFTER FIFTEEN MINUTES OF WAITING FOR THE ICE TO BE REMOVED FROM THE WINDSHIELD, THE CONTACT HAD TO REMOVE THE ICE MANUALLY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 3,790.
11/24/2016 LOW SPEED COLLISION AIR BAGS DEPLOYED AT 11 MPH UNDER BRAKING BOTH STAGES CAUSING INJURY TO 3 PEOPLE. SEAT BELTS RETRACTED VIOLENTLY CAUSING INJURY. INVOLVED IN RECALL 16007 DEALER STATED TO LEAVE IT FOR 2 WEEKS TO REPAIR ON 11/10/2014.GM CLAIM #849421 FILE SDM FILE DOWNLOADED AND LOCKED BY ESIS PHILLIP NOTTINGHAM ON 12/1/2016.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH IN THE EVENING, A DEER SUDDENLY RAN ACROSS THE ROAD. THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE BUMPER STRUCK THE DEER. SUDDENLY, THE CABIN OF THE VEHICLE FILLED WITH SMOKE, BUT THERE WERE NO FLAMES. THE BRAKES WERE APPLIED AND THE VEHICLE STOPPED. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. ONE INJURY WAS SUSTAINED, WHICH REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. WHEN THE IGNITION WAS RESTARTED, THE INSTRUMENT PANEL LIGHTING ILLUMINATED AND "SERVICE AIR BAG" WAS DISPLAYED. THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN HOME AND THEN TO THE DEALER FOR REPAIR. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 6,398. .....UPDATED 03/08/17 *BF *CN
OUR SILVERADO HAS A BAD VIBRATION,MOSTLY NOTICABLE AROUND 70MPH . GM DEALERSHIP CLAIMED IT WAS TIRE BALANCE ISSUE,WHICH HAS HAD 2 NEW SETS OF TIRES PUT ON IT,AND THE ISSUE IS STILL THERE. GM NOW WILL NO LONGER SERVICE THE TRUCK FOR THIS ISSUE,CLAIMING THERES NOTHING WRONG WITH IT. YET THE PROBLEM IS EVIDENT AND REMAINS UNFIXED...SAME PROBLEM AS ON 2014 AND UP SUVS AND PICKUPS.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE LAST TIME THE FAILURE OCCURRED, SHE INFORMED THE DEALER THAT THE IGNITION SWITCH WOULD INADVERTENTLY TURN TO THE "OFF" POSITION. THE DEALER REPLACED THE IGNITION SWITCH, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED FOUR MONTHS LATER. THE CONTACT CALLED THE DEALER ONCE AGAIN TO SCHEDULE ANOTHER DIAGNOSTIC APPOINTMENT FOR 8/2/2017. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 3,000.

ISSUE SINCE NEW: ONLY 100 MILES. LEAF SPRINGS ON 2016 CHEVY SILVERADO 1500 LT 4X4 TRUCK IS DEFECTIVE. HAVE TAKEN IT IN FOR SERVICE ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS. ALL THEY WILL DO IS PLACE GREASE PACKS ON LEAF SPRINGS, QUIETING (MASKING) THE REAL ISSUE. THIS TEMPORARY "FIX" LAST ONLY APPROX. 7 DAYS AND THE LOUD BANGING AND BOUNCING OF BED IS BACK. THE VIBRATION THAT IS CAUSES IN CAB ALONG WITH THE BOUNCING GIVES PASSENGERS HEADACHES AND IS ALSO RESPONSIBLE FOR TERRIBLE WEAR OF TIRES. TRUCKS TIRES FROM FACTORY ARE ALSO BAD AND UNSAFE. IN FOR SERVICE AND DID NOTHING. WAS STATED THAT THEY WERE 100,000 MILES TIRES.... ALL TIRES CUPPED AND WORN TO 40% AND TRUCK ONLY HAD 24,000 MILES. CALLED DEALER TO HAVE ISSUE ADDRESSED MULTIPLE TIMES - THEY BLAMED THE OWNERS. WE DRIVE BACK AND FORTH TO WORK (MAINLY HIGHWAY), KEEP IT CLEAN... MAINTAIN IT TO PERFECTION AND NO OFF ROAD DRIVING OF ANY SORT. NO WAY THIS IS AN OWNER-INDUCED ISSUE. LEAF SPRINGS NEED TO BE RECALLED.... ALONG WITH THE GOODYEAR TIRES PROVIDED BY FACTORY. HAVE FILED A CLAIM WITH GENERAL MOTORS AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS TO HAVE ISSUES FIXED THROUGH DEALERSHIP. THEY SAY GM WILL NOT PAY THEM SO THEY CANNOT PROVIDE ANY OTHER REMEDIES. NO TIRE FIX, AND ONLY TEMPORARY ONE WEEK 'MASKING FIX' FOR THE LEAF SPRING ISSUE.
WHEN DRIVING IN HEAVY WET SNOW AT NIGHT HEADLIGHTS GET COVERED AND MAKE VISIBILITY ALMOST 0% LIGHTS DO NOT GENERATE ANY HEAT ON THE LENS TO MELT OFF THE SNOW OR ICE.
STEADY DRIVING BETWEEN 35 AND 65 MPH, THE TRUCK SHUDDERS AND THE RPM TACH NEEDLE JUMPS. IT DOES NOT DO IT WHILE SHIFTING BUT WHEN RUNNING AT A STEADY SPEED. MY 4TH TIME AT THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY ARE ONLY FOCUSED ON THE VIBRATION OF THE TRUCK AND ARE NOW REPLACING THE THIRD TIRE. I AGREE THE VIBRATION IS BAD BUT THE SHUDDERING IS RIDICULOUS. THERE IS A TECHNICAL BULLETIN FOR THE SILVERADO WITH THE 6.2 TRANSMISSION WITH THE EXACT SAME ISSUES. I CALLED THE SERVICE TECH WHO HAS MY TRUCK AND HE SAID "YOUR TRUCK DOESN'T HAVE THAT TRANSMISSION." I SAID "I REALIZE THAT RICH...HOWEVER IT IS THE SAME ISSUE." HE SAID AS SOON AS THEY GET THE NEW TIRE IN THEY ARE GOING TO TEST DRIVE IT SOME MORE. DID I MENTION THEY HAVE HAD IT FIVE DAYS THIS TIME AND THEY STILL DON'T HAVE A TIRE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO VANDERGRIFF CHEVROLET (1200 WEST INTERSTATE 20, ARLINGTON, TEXAS 76016, (682) 323-2486) ON FOUR SEPARATE OCCASIONS FOR THE FAILURE. THE DEALER DIAGNOSED THAT AN UNSPECIFIED CABLE WITHIN THE AIR BAG HOUSING UNIT WAS FAULTY. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 6,000. *LN *JB

THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE OPERATING THE VEHICLE AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE PARKING ASSIST DISPLAY WOULD ERRONIOUSLY ACTIVATE ALONG WITH AN AUDIBLE CHIME. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, WHO WAS UNABLE TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 1,500.
TRUCK HAS VIBRATION AT 70 MPH AND UPWARDS FROM REAR OF VEHICLE WHEN ON INTERSTATE - FEELS LIKE A DRIVELINE VIBRATION. CAN BE FELT IN THE SEAT AND NOT THROUGH STEERING WHEEL. VIBRATION AT TIMES IS SEVERE AND OTHER TIMES MINOR OR NON-EXISTENT. DEALER KEEPS BLAMING TIRE/WHEEL BALANCE BUT THEY ARE IN SPEC (VERIFIED BY THIRD PARTY TIRE DEALER). CONCERN THAT VIBRATION WILL CAUSE CONTROL ISSUES OR SOMETHING TO BREAK WHILE TRAVELING AT HIGHER SPEEDS. THIS VIBRATION HAS BEEN PRESENT IN THE VEHICLE SINCE NEW.
I BELIEVE CHEVROLET 1500 SERIES TRUCKS ARE NOT MANUFACTURED WITH BRAKES THAT STOP THE VEHICLE SOON ENOUGH. I HAVE A PROBLEM WHEN I HAVE DRIVEN MY TRUCK FOR A WHILE, LONG ENOUGH THAT THE BRAKE SYSTEM GETS PRETTY WARM, OR DOWN HILLS,,( NOT STEEP HILLS). THE BRAKES DO NOT NOT BRAKE VERY WELL, ALONG WITH MAKING A GRINDING - RUMBLING NOISE FROM THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE. IT ALSO FEELS LIKE LIKE THE BRAKES ARE METAL ON METAL. I HAVE ASKED THE DEALERSHIP TO CHECK INTO IT, AND THE SAY, NOTHING WRONG, BRAKES HAVE LOTS OF BRAKE PAD LEFT. WHEN I ASK THEM IF THEY HAVE HEARD OF ANY ISSUES REGARDING BRAKE FADE, AND NOISE, THEY SAY NO. LAST YEAR GM CAME UP WITH A FRONT BRAKE UPGRADE KIT IN THEIR PARTS DEPARTMENT, WHICH IS A 6 PISTON CALLIPER AND UPGRADED PADS FOR THE TRUCK, BUT IT COSTS $4000. ON THE 2019, THEY HAVE ADDED THIS UPGRADE KIT AS AN OPTION WHEN YOU BUILD AND PRICE A NEW TRUCK. THAT TELLS ME THAT THAT THEY KNOW THERE IS AN ISSUE WITH THEIR TRUCKS, BUT THEY WON'T ADMIT IT.
I PURCHASED A NEW, 2016 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500 IN AUGUST OF THIS YEAR. I HAVE BEEN DEALING WITH A VIBRATION RELATED PROBLEM AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS IN MY TRUCK. I HAVE ALSO FILED A COMPLAINT ON THE VEHICLE ON THIS SITE. THE DEALER HAS COMPLETED A ROAD FORCE BALANCE THAT THEY SAY MEETS GM SPECS. THE SERVICE MANAGER AT THE DEALER SAYS HE TOO CAN FEEL THE VIBRATION, BUT HAS NO AUTHORIZATION TO PROCEED. IT HAS BEEN A DOG AND PONY DANCE FOR THE PAST FEW WEEKS. GM HAS DONE NOTHING TO FIX MY ISSUE. THERE IS A RECALL ON THE EXACT TIRES ON MY TRUCK FOR THE SAME ISSUE, BUT MY TIRES DO NOT FALL IN THE LOT OF TIRES RECALLED. I BELIEVE THERE IS STILL A MANUFACTURE DEFECT IN MY TIRES! THIS HAD NO CHANGE. I TOOK THE TRUCK BACK AFTER 1000 MILES. THE DEALER DID A ROAD FORCE BALANCE. THIS HELPED VERY LITTLE. NOW, AT 1345 MILES, IT IS BACK IN THE SHOP. THEY STATE THEY WILL DO A PICOSCOPE ON THE TRUCK AND CHECK THE AXLE. I SHOULD MENTION THE UNDERLYING ISSUE IS A VIBRATION THAT CAN BE FELT AT SPEEDS IN EXCESS OF 65-70MPH. IT IS MORE PREVALENT FROM 70-75MPH. I HAVE FILED A COMPLAINT WITH GM, REFERENCE CASE 82405350103. THIS APPEARS TO BE THE SAME ISSUE FOR THE 2014-2015 MODELS REFERRED TO AS THE "CHEVY SHAKE". 2800 MILEAGE SINCE NEW BECAUSE I HAVE PROBLEMS FUELING THE TANK. I CANNOT GET FUEL TO PUMP INTO THE TANK CORRECTLY. IT'S BEEN A PROBLEM SINCE I PURCHASED THE TRUCK. I'VE TAKEN IT TO MANY DIFFERENT GAS STATIONS THINKING IT WAS A GAS PUMP ISSUE. THE PUMP HANDLE CLICKS OFF WHEN TRYING TO FILL THE TANK. IT MAKES NO DIFFERENCE HOW FAST YOU TRY TO FILL THE TANK OR HOW DEEP THE NOZZLE IS INSERTED INTO THE TUBE. I HAD A CHEVROLET SERVICE PERSON AT THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP TRY TO FILL THE TANK TO VERIFY MY ISSUE. HE NOTICED THERE IS A PROBLEM. THEY CHECKED FOR A "TSB" AND THERE IS ONE DETAILING A REPLACEMENT OF THE FUEL TANK. SERVICE ADVISOR STATED THEY WOULD CALL AFTER GETTING IN THE PART IN 3 DAYS. THEY NEVER CALLED BACK. I CALLED BACK AFTER A WEEK BECAUSE THEY NEVER RETURNED MY COMPLAINT ISSUE. SHE STATED THAT THEY CANNOT GET THE PARTS TO FIX THE PROBLEM FROM GM. I DO NOT UNDERSTAND HOW THIS IS NOT A RECALL. I MUST FILL MY TANK WITH A GAS CAN TO GET IT TO TAKE ANY GAS. A MAJOR INCONVENIENCE AND FUEL SPILLAGE. I LIKE THE TRUCK. I JUST CAN'T FUEL IT WITH A GAS PUMP.

BUT THEY CLAIM IT'S WITHIN SPEC. THEY HAVE A FIELD SERVICE ENGINEER MEETING MY CAR AT THE DEALER ON WEDNESDAY 11/09/2016, BUT THE DEALER IS ALREADY SETTING ME UP FOR DISAPPOINTMENT. THIS PROMPTED ME TO SEARCH ON LINE TODAY WHERE I FOUND "CHEVY SHAKES". THE STORIES MATCH MY EXPERIENCE COMPLETELY. I LOVE EVERYTHING ABOUT MY TRUCK UNTIL I HIT 75, THEN I BECOME SO INFURIATED THAT MY $50K TRUCK WITH 2,700 MILES APPARENTLY ISN'T GOING TO BE FIXABLE FROM WHAT I'VE READ. THIS VEHICLE (2016 SILVERADO) HAS ALL THE CHARACTERISTICS ASSOCIATED WITH THE "CHEVY SHAKE", AN UNRESOLVABLE DRIVELINE UNDER SEAT VIBRATION THAT IS VERY SEVERE AT TIMES. GM HAS ISSUED SERVICE BULLETIN PI1354C WHICH I FOLLOWED AT MY EXPENSE TO REDUCE / ELIMINATE THE SEVERE SHAKE THAT OCCURS AT SPEEDS OF 69 ' 79 MPH WITH NO IMPROVEMENT. I BELIEVE IT IS A SAFETY MATTER WHEN A VEHICLE SHAKES TO THE EXTENT OF DRIVER DISTRACTION AND THERE ARE DANGERS ASSOCIATED WITH THE LONG TERM EFFECT ON SAFETY COMPONENTS THAT ARE SUBJECT SEVERE SHAKING THAT THEY WOULDN'T OTHERWISE BE SUBJECTED TO UNDER NORMAL DURABILITY TESTING. I DO NOT FEEL "IN CONTROL" WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE WHEN THE SEVERE SHAKING OCCURS AT 69MPH. I BELIEVE THAT SINCE THIS IS AN ONGOING BUILD ISSUE WITH THOUSANDS OF DOCUMENTED COMPLAINTS GM SHOULD BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE AND PROVIDE RELIEF TO GM TRUCK OWNERS.
HEADRESTS ARE DESIGNED IN A MANNER THAT YOUR HEAD IS CONSTANTLY PUSHED FORWARD. THIS LIMITS THE DRIVER BEING ABLE TO LOOK UP. IT IS VERY DISTRACTING TO HAVE TO KEEP THE SEAT BELT LOOSE IN ORDER TO LEAN FORWARD TO GET YOUR HEAD AWAY FROM THE HEADREST AND LOOK UP AT THE TRAFFIC LIGHT OR READ SIGNS ON THE HIGHWAY. THE REMEDY SUGGESTED BY THE DEALERSHIP IS TO TURN THE HEADREST AROUND BACKWARD, WHICH LEAVES NO SUPPORT FOR YOUR HEAD IN CASE OF A REAR END COLLISION. MOST OWNERS I HAVE TALKED TO HAVE SIMPLY REMOVED THE HEADREST TO ELIMINATE THE PROBLEM. OTHERS HAVE RECLINED THE SEATS BACK, WHICH MAKES THE DRIVER VULNERABLE IN A FRONT END COLLISION OF SLIDING OUT UNDERNEATH THE SEAT BELT UNDER THE DASH. ACCORDING TO A GENERAL MOTORS REPRESENTATIVE THIS COMPLAINT HAS BEEN OCCURRING SINCE THE 2010 YEAR MODEL VEHICLES.

ONCE THE VEHICLE IS TURNED OFF AND BACK ON A FEW TIMES IT WILL GO INTO A 'LIMP MODE'. I'VE BEEN STRANDED IN THE VEHICLE 4 TIMES. I HAVE HAD THIS HAPPEN TWICE WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE FREEWAY, ONCE DRIVING IN A PARKING LOT, AND TWICE WHEN FIRST STARTING THE VEHICLE. DURING ONE INCIDENT ON THE FREEWAY I WAS IN THE CENTER LANE AND LOST ALL ENGINE POWER, AIRBAGS, SAFETY CONTROLS, AND POWER STEERING. I WAS ABLE TO COAST AND MAKE MY WAY OVER TO THE SHOULDER. GM AND THE DEALERSHIP HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO RESOLVE THE ISSUE AND ARE NOW REFUSING TO HONOR THE WARRANTY, REPLACE THE VEHICLE, OR REFUND THE PURCHASE. THIS HAS BEEN A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE. I'VE HAD MY WIFE AND TWO SMALL CHILDREN IN THE VEHICLE WHEN IT HAS DIED ON THE FREEWAY. NOT ONLY IS IT A SIGNIFICANT DANGER TO MYSELF AND MY FAMILY, BUT ANY OTHER VEHICLES IN CLOSE PROXIMITY. AS SUCH I HAVE REFUSED TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE ANY LONGER, BUT GM SEEMS INTENT ON IGNORING THIS.

THE TRUCK HAS BEEN ROAD FORCE BALANCED THE SAME & ALSO BY AN INDEPENDENT TIRE SHOP AT MY OWN COST, AS OF THIS DATE MY VEHICLE STILL SHAKES, GM HAS ADMITTED THE PROBLEM BUT THEY SAY IT IS NOT A SAFETY ISSUE AT THIS TIME, SO NO RECALL IS WARRANTED, THE DEALER HAS BEEN WORKING WITH ME & THEY ARE WILLING TO BUY MY VEHICLE BACK AT FULL VALUE OR TRADE, THIS VEHICLE WAS VERY EXPENSIVE & GM KNOWS THERE IS A PROBLEM, BUT KEEPS SELLING THEM ANY WAY TO UNSUSPECTING CONSUMERS LIKE MYSELF IN MY OPINION THIS IS JUST GREED & LACK OF CARING FOR LOYAL CUSTOMERS THAT KEEP GM IN BUSINESS. VEHICLE OPERATOR HAS RADIO SHUT OFF. WHEN VEHICLE IS USED AGAIN THE RADIO COMES ON UNWANTED SHORTLY AFTER START. IF VEHICLE HAS STARTED MOVING THIS PUTS THE OPERATOR IN A DISTRACTED DRIVING SITUATION. THIS HAPPENS EVERY OTHER STARTUP. ( IF STARTS ARE MORE THAN A FEW MINUETS APART.)
I WAS LEAVING MY HOME MADE A RIGHT HAND TURN AS I WAS COMING UP TO THE 35 MPH SPEED LIMIT THERE WAS A BEEP AND THE VEHICLE WAS HARD TO TURN. A MESSAGE WAS DISPLAYED ON THE INFORMATION DISPLAY ADVISING TO GET POWER STEERING SERVICED.I DROVE IT TO THE DEALERSHIP WHICH WAS TWO MILES AWAY. WAS ADVISED THAT THE ELECTRIC STEERING PUMP WENT BAD. THE VEHICLE HAS APPROXIMATELY 3,200 MILES AND I HAVE BEEN DRIVING IT SINCE APRIL 29, 2016. CHEVROLET NOTIFIED. VEHICLE IS AT STEVENSON CHEVROLET, SWANSBORO, NC 28584. IF THIS HAPPENED ON A HIGHWAY I PROBABLY WOULD NOT BE WRITING THIS.
