Throttle Body Failure Anti brake lock failure Throttle position sensor failure Power reduced *Vehicle has been to repair shop 3 times and the issue prevails. It poses a risk to my community because my loses power sporadically*
The truck started to vibrate badly. Brought it to the dealership and have to replace the 6.2 L engine. I was happy to make it home without it breaking down. The truck only has 67,000 miles on it.
The contact owns a 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that while driving approximately 15 MPH, after making a left turn at a traffic signal, the rear wheels locked up. The contact stated that there was an abnormal screeching sound while depressing the brake pedal in a panic stop, and the vehicle jolted violently. The contact stopped the vehicle with the engine still running and observed the "Service Engine Soon" message displayed. The contact attempted to drive forward, and the rear wheels locked up. The contact was able to drive the vehicle to an Auto Parts store. The contact stated that a store representative used a handheld scanner and was able to retrieve DTC: P0747 (Transmission Valve Body #1 Open). The vehicle was not taken to a dealer or independent mechanic. The vehicle had not been diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The contact researched online and related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V797000 (Power Train); however, the VIN was not included. The failure mileage was approximately 140,000.
I have a Chevrolet Silverado 1500 with the 6.2L engine. I received the recall notice about the loss of propulsion due to a crankshaft issue. The safety of myself, family, friends and coworkers who ride with me on an everyday basis were put at risk because of the faulty engine. I brought my truck in for an oil change in August 2025. I had the Team Chevrolet dealership in Las Vegas Nevada do a telescopic inspection to see if my particular engine had the recall issue. It was discovered the engine did have the recall issue and was kept by the dealership for roughly two and a half months. Chevrolet has confirmed this is a major issue and is affecting roughly 600,000 people. There was no sign of the issue before the telescopic inspection but since the engine has been replaced I have now had three separate issues with misfiring cylinders on the new engine. The plugs and wires have been replaced twice and has not resolved the issue. When the misfires have occurred there were error codes, check engine light notification, and engine sputtering. This again has endangered the safety of myself, family members, friends, and coworkers who ride in my truck on a daily basis. This is now going on four months of issues that keep persisting and I am very concerned that both the manufacturer Chevrolet and the Team Chevrolet dealership are not taking the proper steps in order to solve this very serious issue.
The contact owns a 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact received notice of an unknown recall in approximately July 2025. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 65 MPH, the vehicle stalled. The vehicle was towed to a dealer, where it was diagnosed that the engine needed to be replaced, and the failure was associated with the recall. The contact was also advised that the parts were not yet available. The contact stated that the vehicle remained with the dealer for three months and was repaired when the parts became available. The contact stated that two days after the repair, while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle vibrated and hesitated. The vehicle was taken back to the same dealer where it was diagnose,d and determined that the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, and three cases were filed. The failure mileage was 81,000.
The contact owns a 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V274000 (Engine and Engine Cooling). The dealer was contacted, and the contact was informed that the parts were unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded the limited time frame to have the parts available. The manufacturer was contacted; however, the contact was informed that parts were not yet available. The contact had not experienced a failure.
General Motors is selling vehicles that are unsafe, unreliable, and unfit for consumers. My experience shows a clear pattern of negligence, misrepresentation, and disregard for public safety. On or about April of 2021, I purchased a 2021 Chevy Silverado RST z71 from Vetter chvrolet for about $56,000. GM promoted this vehicle as safe and dependable. Within the short 4 years of owning this truck, I faced major failures: engine issues, transmission problems and electrical malfunctions causing the parking break to engage on its own, at highway speeds of 70-80 mph on which nearly caused a serious accident, and failed Electronic Stability Control (ESC) system. This system helps maintain vehicle control, and a problem with it can affect braking, steering, and handling, Despite following GM’s maintenance guidelines, GM delayed repairs, denied coverage on certain failures, and left me with thousands in out-of-pocket costs. The vehicle remains unreliable and unsafe. For myself and my family, 2 children under 3 years old and one on the way. This is not an isolated issue—GM has a long history of recalls and defect cover-ups. These vehicles put lives at risk, cause financial hardship, and violate consumer trust. No one should fear for their safety in a vehicle marketed as “dependable.” This has impacted me by having : • Expensive repairs • Loss of transportation for extended periods • Ongoing fear of driving a defective vehicle with my family in it. Loss of use of my vehicle • Fear and emotional distress driving an unsafe product I have contacted GM and the dealership multiple times. Responses were dismissive, repairs were inadequate, and GM refuses accountability. Requested Resolution: Full reimbursement for all related costs Buyback (preferred) of the vehicle OR permanent repair at no cost Public acknowledgment and stronger quality control. Warning to Consumers: Think twice before trusting GM. Their failure to correct dangerous defects shows profits matter more than safety.

The 3 and 4 cylinder need to be replaced at 130000 miles with regulate maintenance always maintained
Transmission began shifting hard over between 60500 and 62000 miles. Dealership test drove and confirmed it was not normal. The transmission pan was dropped and contained metal shavings and bits. Dealer replaced transmission. During late February 2026, I began noticing some hard shifts again, but am hesitant to pay another $699 diagnostic fee and replacement transmission cost because I feel I am wasting money on a poorly designed and unreliable transmission. I don’t feel confident relying on this vehicle for transportation to medical appointments anymore.
The transmission shudders during light throttle at cruising speeds and low rpms, tachometer show continuous jumps in rpm and vehicle loosing power. No check engine lights. Concerned that transmission behavior can make the vehicle a hazard on highyways. Shuddering and hesitation on acceleration. Transmission fluid was changed at 70k miles and symptoms still persist. Current mileage 71k.
So many vehicles like mine have si.ilar issue. Lifter issues causing engine damage and other part damage. Causes issues at high-speed with power and stranded motorists on dangerous highways. It is a safety issue because you could be stranded in middle of highway. Lifter issues causing bent pushrods and other engine part damage costing . I had one pushrod covered, but others failed and now thousands in repairs. In expensive vehicles. Also towing charges, hotels, rental cars, etc... I dont want to be stranded again as only one bank was all replaced. The entire top half of the engine should be fixed and should be replaced and a service bulletin and recall should be issued to help.protect consumers.
misfire on cylinder #6 lifter failure on cylinder #6 bent push rod on cylinder #6 happened going down the highway at 75mph, luckily no one was injured local Chevrolet dealer did diagnostic and repairs repairs were covered by aftermarket warranty - $100.00 deductible no warning lamps or messages or other symptoms before hand
On August 10th 2025 I was driving down the 5 freeway to the airports All of a sudden I notice my check engine light is on. It was Sunday Chevrolet is closed so I got off the exit to go to auto zone in XXX. I stop at a red light my engine shuts off. I tried to turn it back on twice and it starts to smoke where the battery is. I have it towed to Chevrolet Fairfield. Where they figure out my ground wire came loose and shorted out. I paid for that to get fixed upon returning to get my vehicle on August 31, 2025 I drive not even 10 miles down the road and I hear a boom and then really loud clanking. I blew my engine. It was diagnosed with the same problems as other 6.2 gm motors. I have it towed back to Fairfield Chevrolet. It sat in Fairfield for a couple months due to me working out of town for work and the manager from Fairfield Chevrolet started giving me problems harassing me saying that if I didn’t get it off of his lot he was going to start charging me. So I had it towed from Chevrolet Fairfield to my house in [XXX] where it has sat since. I have been going back and forth with Chevy because I know of the recall however my vin is not in that recall yet it is the same problems as all the ones with the recall. I am really wanting to fix my vehicle as it has been almost 9 months. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
Transmission is making rattling or ticking noise when accelerating , I'm getting hard shifting in 1st and 2nd and some random gears , I have been launched forward when coming to a stop , some hard shifting when kicking down to pass

At 62000 miles, I was having a transmission problem but had no check engine lights associated with the issue. The day I took it to the dealership for the transmission, the check engine light came on for the first time ever when I started the vehicle. The dealership first said it was a faulty solenoid on the purge valve, replaced that part, but it didn’t fix the problem. The dealership then said it needed a new fuel pump control module, which was heavily back ordered due to demand. I needed the vehicle because it had already been at the dealership for a transmission replacement for many weeks and is my only transportation. The dealership told me other vehicles were there for the same problem, parts were on a national back order and being rationed to dealerships around the country. They could not provide an estimate for when my vehicle would be ready and pushed me to trade in my vehicle as a solution. The sales manager offered a very low trade in value, told me I couldn’t get the part faster by purchasing it myself, and was very pushy. She said my vehicle was devalued because it didn’t have the fuel pump control module needed for the check engine light to turn off, and had a history of transmission problems (even though it just got a new transmission). I got frustrated and ordered the new GM part from summit racing and had it on my doorstep in two days. I took it to the dealership and all of a sudden they had received a shipment of this part, and replaced the faulty one in my vehicle. Their repair resolved the problem, but I still had reliability concerns. Despite all repairs being completed, the sales manager said the vehicle trade in value remained unchanged. It was a complete nightmare and I felt my vehicle was being held back from repair resolution to convince me to trade it in for a new truck. I kept my vehicle and extra part I ordered in case this happens again.
Transmission shifts rough, shudders, has hesitation at times, makes the vehicle feel like it is missing from jerking. Have not contacted dealer. No warning lamps, messages. Occurred a week after purchasing vehicle.
2021 Silverado 1500 Trail Boss LT with 6.2ltr V8 L87 had sudden catastrophic engine failure at 90,000 miles with excellent and routine maintenance up to. Findings were a broken timing chain, cracked piston and debris in number 8 intake port. Vehicle lost propulsion on the highway posing a safety risk to the driver, passengers and other vehicles on the roadway. Dealership confirmed the findings. There were no warning signs, signals, lamps, beeps, noises or any other indicators that there was an issue with the motor. It unexpectedly and suddenly failed without warning.
See attached document for complaint.
I was driving in a straight line at 45mph when my truck jerked to one side. It felt like the back of the truck was sliding out from behind me and also felt like my truck was being pulled to a stop. A check engine light came on. I drove it back to my house (approximately 3 miles). The light went away but came back, and the transmission started overheating even though I was only going 10-20 mph. The truck randomly did the same jerking action while going home. I had to drive slow to get home. There was no warning when this happened. No lights, sounds, or other warnings. The jerking motion almost made me hit other cars, and almost made me lose control of the vehicle. It is available for inspection if needed. It has not been looked at yet because I found this website when researching the problem online. If you want to inspect it, then you need to inspect within 2-3 weeks because I’m military and I am getting stationed overseas.
Vehicle experienced engine failure while driving. Loss of power in traffic. Inspected by dealer and determined to have lost compression in cylinder #5. Initial inspection determined that lifters and camshaft would need to be replaced. This issue is the same common problem with this year model (2021) Chevy Silverado Trucks as noted in TSB #N212353840. At time of purchase dealer did not notify me that these trucks were experiencing these issues nor did they complete the suggest repairs prior to the sell as described in the TSB.
No updates have been made to fix recall. Status has been pending for a long and it’s preventing me from selling the car due to fear of breaking down.
The contact's son owns a 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that while her son was driving at a moderate speed, the vehicle lost motive power without warning. Due to the failure, the vehicle was towed to a dealer where the contact was informed that the vehicle was included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V274000 (Engine and Engine Cooling). The contact was also notified that the parts for the recall repair were unavailable. The vehicle remained with the dealer. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact's husband notified the manufacturer of the failure and was provided a case number. The failure mileage was 47,000
Belt tensioner/idler pulley began chirping during warm up after starting engine. Noticed serpentine belt was beginning to fray on edges. Dealership confirmed the pulley failed prematurely and caused the serpentine belt to be damaged. Dealership replaced pulley and belt. It was just after warranty expired. The belt is supposed to be replaced at 100,000 miles as routine maintenance, but the failure of the pulley, which the dealer informed me was also premature, but common, was not covered under warranty. Power steering was lost one time in park and a message showed on the dash, but went away after restarting the vehicle.
Around July 1st, 2025 I was hearing a ticking sound when taking off from a stop. On July 11th I had an oil change completed on the truck at the Local Chevy dealership, after the oil change, I mentioned the noise and was told maybe we could schedule some sort of deep cleaning of the internal components of the engine. After leaving the dealership after the oil change, I was still hearing the ticking sound. I then scheduled an appointment on July 22nd for the dealership to look into the ticking sound. I drove the truck to the dealership and it was working fine; other than the ticking sound when the RPM’s were at 2200. At no time was there any warning lights that came on to alert me to a problem. After approximately 30 minutes of waiting in the customer waiting area, the service advisor came and got me and said “we have big problems” and they were going to need the truck longer to look into it. I walked out to the service bay to get some personal items out of the truck. At that time, the mechanic pointed out some white looking fluffy cotton material and said that just came out the end of your exhaust. I had never seen that material prior to this appointment on July 22. The dealership called me July 24th and told me that the engine and exhaust system need to be replaced. They told me that the bottom end connecting rod came apart, and went through the engine and the exhaust system while it was at their facility on July 22. This truck has the 6.2L V8 (RPO L87) gas engine…. This truck is a 2021 and there is 76,957 miles currently on it (7/24/2025). With a blown engine, and an exhaust system that needs to be replaced.

The vehicle was towed to a local dealer where it was diagnosed, and the contact was informed that the engine was faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 77,000.
Lifters 1-3-5-7 all failed. They were pitted as was the camshaft. Diagnosis from Hendrick Chevrolet in Hoover AL. 70k miles on one owner truck. Regular servicing and never towed anything.
I have this pick up I was on a hill heading down to stop sighn pressed on brake and went to the floor no resistance nothing luckily it was a rural rd went thru stop sigh coasted to a stop was 1/4 from home lifted hood the brake reservoir was full all brakes were in top shape it was like something shut off the brakes electrically I have driven many large trucks and buses and vehicles never felt this no spongey at all it is at the dealership they are looking at but my concern this could be a far worst circumstance if in heavy traffic or at cross walk can’t even think of it. Scary I would think gm would have some type of secondary for electric malfunction the vehicle is at Cerrone gmc south Attleborough mass. My vehicle is 2021 Chevy Silverado 75000 miles well maintained. In short I believe the mechanics will diagnose and fix it but my concern. That these vehicles need safety checks

July, 10 2025 My 2021 chevy Silverado has stalled today in the middle of the road. When trying to start, it sounds like if it wants to turn over but it won’t. I bought a brand new battery and problem is not resolved. I did some digging and sounds like fuel pump will not come on. This truck is only 4 years old and I should be having these issues. Please help thanks
My vehicle has almost 53,000 miles, I went for an oil change, hasn't even been 5,000 miles since last one, and I had no oil on the dipstick. I wanted to get it changed before a short trip. Glad I did. This could have caused the engine to blow up. I didn't know new vehicles could lose oil like that . The problem was confirmed by an independent oil change station where I always go. No inspections have been done by anyone. No warning lights came on telling me that the oil was low. No other issues prior to this.
The contact owns a 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that while driving 75 MPH, an abnormal boom sound was heard coming from the engine. The vehicle failed to accelerate as intended while depressing the accelerator pedal. The contact stated that the engine seized. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was towed to the local dealer and was diagnosed with crank shaft sensor failure. The contact was later informed that the engine had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired due to the cost. The manufacturer was contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 85,000.
Tailgate operation failure. The tailgate switch appears to be operating when no button is pressed. When vehicle is unlocked or key fob near vehicle tailgate automatically goes down on own. Component is available upon request. Appears to be tailgate release switch 85734717. Safety at risk as although it does not open in driving it does when stopped and in park. Tailgate went down and driver failed to realize this as component had failed and it had been put up and driver drove forward so unable to witness it down as truck was not in reverse. Upon driving forward materials in bed of truck were dispersed in roadway until driver realized tailgate had come down just prior to pulling away. Causes a safety hazard to drivers and others on road. Problem has happened in park and has not been taken into dealer yet as it is out of dealer warranty. Vehicle not inspected by anyone else. No lamps displayed prior to or following failure. No lift gate down warning. Safety failure
Driving Ashland pass in OR, the transmission over heated with the truck dinging for us to pull over an idle, there is no where to pull over on Ashland pass for 8 miles. After sitting in an unsafe location with the truck idling wasting fuel we where able to get back on road after 30min. Upon arrival to location we where able to see that the exhaust system sits right on the transmission pan heating it up when truck is running. This model does not have a dip stick to check transmission fluid resulting in a $2500.00 drop an drain to which I am told by the mechanic that this needs to be done every 40k. That is alot of cost 2x a year.
Vehicle is shifting harshly. Looked up recalls. "Certain" 2021 Silverado 1500's have recall for transmission problem that can cause rear wheels to lock up and cause a crash. GM says my truck is not included in the recall. I have filed an official complaint with GM.

Check engine light is on, code reads emissions fail due to the Evaporative Emissions leak detection pump.( EVAP PURGE PUMP UNDERSPEED) P1467. I see this was a recall on several Chevrolet vehicles but not yet on mine.
The Vehicle that I own is a 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 with a 6.2 liter engine. on 6/2/2025 i went to have the oil changed and the service technician informed me there was no oil in the engine. He also informed me that this particular model with the 6.2 liter engine had a recall relating to components in the engine. After researching I found that there was in fact a recall, but my truck was not listed on the NHTSA web site. I made a visit to the local dealership and the service manager informed me that there was in fact a recall but there was nothing they could do at this time. He suggested that I check the oil level every 500 miles and wait on a recall notice. Now the engine is starting to make internal noises that concern me greatly. There is a opportunity that the engine could simply lock up and there is no certainty on what might happen. Please advise
