The audio in the truck increased to maximum volume on its own- without user/driver input. The only way to reset the radio is to pull over, shut off the truck, and open the door. This is extremely hazardous and distracting while operating the vehicle. It is an urgent safety concern for the driver and all passengers, as well as other vehicles.
I bought the truck in April of 2023, a few days after I purchased it I was backing up and the review camera turned off and received an error. I went to the dealer and was told it was caused my my tow hitch. Which makes no sense since they have an option to towing. I've looked on forums online where several other owners have the same issue with the same year truck.
MY VEHICLE HAS MULTIPLE ISSUES THAT THE DEALER FAILS TO APPROPRIATELY INVESTIGATE AND TRY AND RESOLVE ALL I GET IS NTF REAR CAMERA BLANKS OUT AND SHOWS A WARNING SYMBOL A TRIANGLE WITH EXCLAMATION AND A CAMERA SYMBOL CIRCLED WITH A SLASH IN THE MORNING THE TRANS SLIPS UNTIL IT UP SHIFTS THROUGH 1-2 THEN OFTEN 3-4 GEARS RADIO SYSTEM CAN SUDDENLY COME ON AT FULL VOLUME AND VEHICLE HAS TO BE SHUT DOWN AND RECYLED TO MAKE IT GO AWAY RADI SPEAKERS COME ON ALL CRACKLY WITH REDUCED VOLUME CAPABILITY OCCASIONALY DIGITAL DASH BLANKS OUT. SAFETY ISSUE
The inside silver trim pieces blind the driver and passenger when the sun reflects off them. The trim piece on the driver side reflects into the side view mirror, blinds the driver and does not allow you to see blind spots.
When vehicle becomes disabled due to an an electrical or mechanical issue there is no way to put the transmission into neutral. Due to the vehicle having an electric shift mechanism, when there is an electrical issue with the vehicle it can’t be shifted into neutral to push or tow the vehicle. For some unknown reason, GM did not provide an emergency transmission shift override system. My previous vehicle, a 2014 Ram had an emergency shift override mechanism for emergency situations. With GM’s lack of an override system if the vehicle develops an issue while driving once it comes to a stop it shifts its self into park leaving no way to move the vehicle safely off the roadway without a tow truck using skates/dollies on the rear wheels. I personally experienced this yesterday while driving in San Antonio, Texas traffic. My vehicle died while going 70 mph. Thankfully I was able to coast off to the shoulder. When the vehicle came to a stop it would no longer shift into neutral. I have read others having similar experiences only not being fortunate enough to get off the roadway. GM needs to provide a way to override the electronic shift mechanism so there vehicles can be moved when issues arise. It’s only a matter of time before an electrical issue renders a vehicle unmovable in traffic causing injury or death to the traveling public.
I HAVE A FLEX TAIL GATE WHICH IS ALL ELECTRONIC. THE TAILGATE WILL NOT STAY UP , IT KEEPS ON FALLING AND UNLOCKING FOR NO REASON. BUTTON THE TAILGATE LEVER DOES NOT WORK. TOOK IT IN TO THE DEALERSHIP IN JULY AND THEY HAD TO ORDER THE PART. IT IS ALMOST DEC AND STILL NOT HEAR. THE TAILGATE FELL IN MY GARAGE AND I DID NOT KNOW IT WHEN I PUT THE DOOR UP IT SCRATCHED MY TAIL GATE. I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD BEFORE THIS ISSUE AND MY TAILGATE FELL AND I HAD ALL MY WORK SUPPLIES IN THE BACK. SOMEBODY HONKED THE HORN AND TOLD ME. IF THEY DIDN'T THIS WOULD HAVE BEEN A MAJOR ACCIDENT WITH ALL MY SUPPLIES FALLING OUT OF THE BACK. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE.. I HAVE READ ABOUT IT ON THE CHEVY WEBSITE AND THEY SAID THEY HAD A PROBLEM WITH THE SWITCH ON THE CHEVY FLEX GATE FROM 2019-2022. THEY SAID THEY FIXED THE PROBLEM FOR 2023.
The contact owns a 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated while driving 58 MPH and attempting to depress the brake pedal, the contact saw that an unknown electrical component had detached from underneath the dashboard and was obstructing the brake pedal. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The contact was able to remove the electrical component with his left foot to depress the brake pedal. The contact called the local dealer and made them aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 30,000.
Upper Control Arms are made of Aluminum . I live in Pa and they use a lot of road salt and brine to treat the roads in the winter. Upper Control Arms are being ate up from the salt. If Upper Control Arm Fails Rim and tire fall of truck at any speed!!! I purchased truck new less than a year ago.
Still haven’t received any information on when the retrofit process will be completed.
While driving the truck, something electrical seems to "reset" and upon that occurring, the brakes and other things quit working. This has happened in this truck twice within the last 10,000 miles. The dealership "resets the electrical system" and the truck runs fine for a period of time, but it has happened twice that the brakes have failed while going down the road.
The truck randomly got a check engine light. I had to drive over 150 miles home and the whole time the dash said DEF empty and a countdown to reduced power. DEF was filled prior to trip. Took to dealer and was told the DEF tank needed to be replaced due to bad sensor or module. No parts available for repair so I am without a truck until GM decides to produce parts. The consumer stated that the vehicle is still at the dealer and the DEF module has been replaced 3 times. No remedy has been provided from the manufacturer so far.
There is a small front body part known as the "moustaches" next to the headlights on either side of the vehicle. We have had this vehicle for less than 2 years and both the driver's side and passenger side "moustaches" have come loose on this truck and flown off while driving at highway speeds. Prior to flying off they get caught up on the tires and could cause a catastrophic blow-out of the steering tires. There is also the hazard of the body part flying off into traffic and causing damage or injuries to other drivers or pedestrians. This appears to be an engineering error and they have corrected it on later models by replacing the two small pieces with one wraparound piece. I believe this is an unsafe condition specific to this model year and should be considered for a possible safety recall.
As I drive down road at speed limit. Transmission control module shuts down and the truck loses speed to where it's a safety problem that the cars behind you almost hits you as you have to coast of the road. It has happened to many times. I took it to dealerships. But I had to shop around from county to county to find one that would fix the problem. They dealership wouldn't fix while under warranty. Know that I have finally found a dealership in another county. They have ho parts to fix it. But I'm stuck with a bill that while under warranty the problem exists. The biggest thing is that once I found this dealership. They informed me that this is ongoing problem with GM. They had about 7 others in shop with the same problem and no parts. I don't understand while there is no recall to fix this problem that exists. Trying to make me pay my truck payment plus spend monthly money on renter cars. That's about $2000 a month extra.
Integrated trailer brake failure. Pugged in trailer and received message stated trailer brake failure, needs service
The issue is two fold, first the seal on the rear spoiler is defective and causing water to leak into the cab. Second, the seal around the rear power sliding window is defective and is also leaking into the cab. My safety concern is the amount of black mold that could be trapped between the headliner and roof putting myself and family at grave risk.
Back up camera cuts out at night in low light conditions, making it dangerous. Been to dealer twice, first they reflash BCM then second time, they state “we can’t find anything wrong”. I have seen people complaining online about this issue.
The lane departure assist stopped working. The dash says lane departure assist not available.
I was driving on Pa Turnpike around Denver, PA, at about 75 MPH, I saw in my review mirror, what I first though was dust or smoke blowing around my truck bed. I slowed down 10-15 MPH, a small flame was visible through the rear window, between cab and bed. I immediately pulled over, put in park , turned on flashers, grabbed my phone and wallet, got out of the vehicle. opened the rear door grabbed one bag and saw flames over the cab. Flames were visibly getting larger between cab and and bed, flames were also exiting under bed and driver side rear wheel well. I walked up the turnpike about 100 feet and called 911. The truck became fully engulfed while on phone with 911. Picture labeled first picture was after 911 call, and about 5-min after stopping vehicle. Fire Company showed up 15-min. later but vehicle was already gone. Allstate Ins. has possession of truck. Truck had 25K miles and was purchased new January 2022. The truck has been maintained per manufactures specifications by Faulkner Chevrolet in Lancaster, PA. The truck had no damage ever, was never off-road, and there were no environmental issues to cause the fire. Only modifications to vehicle was a professionally sprayed in bed liner.
Vehicle engine blew up stopped running. I was driving up Highway 17 leaving Santa Cruz heading towards Sacramento when Engine failed was able to pull off the side of the freeway without being sideswiped had to have CHP come and shut down the number one lane in order to get vehicle towed. Was pulling a travel trailer. Vehicle and trailer were towed to the closest hotel in Scotts Valley the following day truck was towed to Watsonville Chevrolet where they tore the engine apart and found the catastrophic failure of the engine, vehicle was inspected by Watsonville Chevrolet mechanic. There were no warning mites before engine stopped working no warning and was very fortunate by God's graces to get off the side of the highway before being sideswiped or rear-ended. The repair took 47 days to fix two days after I got the vehicle back the battery was dead because certain electrical components like battery and stereo were not reconnected therefore caused a drain and would not start. Had to call GM again to have the vehicle towed to Folsom Chevrolet California where they kept the vehicle for 9 days to fix the problem which was electrical.
7500 oil change, tire rotation multi vehicle inspection appt. With issues. - didn't do oil change/inspection. Because of major issue with transmission/engine. Vehicle running rough, happens at idle or while driving. Sounds lik it will stall. When u put vehicle in gear drive or reverse vehicle lunges towards direction its in gear. Radio lights on dash decide to dim on their own, shuts off on its own. Will not let u adjust dimness you must shut off for it to re light up which is a 50/50 chance. Going over bumps loud noise coming from rear, vehicle does get squirmy when you hit a large bump. Large loud whinging noise upon acceleration. Intermittent issue with key fobs usually spare key not found on dash. Still. Diagnosis papers attached. It is a balance shift gear crank shaft case; they have to remove the transmission and the engine completely from my truck and replace parts! Takes over 1.5 for parts to get delivered, plus they will have my vehicle for 7 days plua approx to do repair. But for now they told me it's cool that I drove it still with crank shaft and balance gear shift issues! They cannot do 7500 mile oil change as they have to remove the engine and they want to wait to do oil so its not wasted when they have to rip engine out. All other issues will be address once this issue is fixed because they are hoping that these problems are solved with the major repair. Tsb# 23-NA-015.
April 2023 experienced loss of power and eventually would not start at all. (8k miles) Was at the dealer for just over 3 months and had motor replaced. April 2025 valve body on the transmission went out and was at the dealer a week and a half. (15K miles) Currently experiencing loss of tailgate function and an error message on the screen saying "caution reduced speed". (17,400 miles)

When pulling a travel trailer with electric trailer brakes, the trucks trailer brake control switch disengages. While pulling our new travel trailer home from the dealership I tested the trailer brakes prior to leaving the camper dealers lot and the trailer brakes work with both the manual switch and the trucks brake pedal. But while traveling down the highway and braking with the foot pedal the truck emitted an audible alert tone but by the time that I looked at the dash the visual message had already disappeared. While traveling this happened a few more times before I was finally able to read the alert notification on the dash in time to read the there was a trailer brake fault and the electronic trailer brake controller had been disabled. The trailer I was pulling was well within the trucks TWR rated capacity, but yet heavier than the truck. Luckily I finally figured out what was going on and did not need to brake hard and was able to get my trailer to our nearby destination. Had I have been aware that there could be a trailer brake controller problem I would have never made this trip with my truck and trailer and risked incident. At no point in my truck purchasing process or during ownership have I ever been notified that my truck could have trailer braking problems. Had there been a situation where I needed to stop fast it could have resulted in catastrophy. Chevrolet needs to inform owners of this potential safety issue immediately. After the fact, I came across multiple articles stating that GM has issued a service bulletin for the problem, but apparently will only be addressed at the time of customer complaint. I did call the dealership where I purchased my truck and was informed at that time of the service bulletin. My truck has since been to the repair shop to have the trailer brake control switch replaced and trailer brakes are currently functioning properly.
Service brake assist message on dash, with check engine light. Brakes are almost useless takes excessive force to get vehicle to stop. Resets after being parked and restarted. has happened several times but will not replicate a dealer. Started with less then 2500 miles on the truck.
Spare tire and owner's manual provides conflicting, dangerous, and incomplete information. Numerous times the owner's manual warns of numerous dangers about mixing wheel and tire sizes. Yet this truck is equipped with four 275/60 R 20's (20 inch rim) and the spare is 255/80 R 17 (on a 17 inch rim). There is no "T" label on spare. The spare (MAXXIM) is labeled in black "temporary use only" but no information can be found as to what this means. The owner's manual says that this spare (even though a different wheel size and tire size) can be driven up to 70MPH (55 towing) for unlimited time/distance (time and distance is unspecified). The owner's manual does not clearly say that this a "full size spare" or what constitutes a "full size spare." This conflicts with the manual's numerous warnings of numerous dangers of driving with mismatched wheels/tires. The dealership was no help.
While driving the vehicle it will slow automatically as if there is something in front of the vehicle when there is nothing there. It has happened twice on the highway at highway speeds causing driver to take action. While driving the vehicle, the emergency brake automatically set itself while in drive. Electrical accessory issue with radio; cutting out and losing signal, unable to control volume of radio when driving or parked as radio gets extremely loud and cannot be turned down or off.
The contact owns a 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the brake pedal was depressed but the brakes failed to stop the vehicle immediately. The message "Brake System Failure" was displayed. The failure occurred twice and nearly caused a collision. The vehicle coasted to the side of the roadway and was towed to the dealer; however, no failure was found. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 6,000.
i AM HAVING AN ISSUE WITH RADIO NOT PLAYING, IT MAY AT BEGINNING OF TRIP OR NOT. IT DOES NOT MAKE A DIFFERENCE IF YOU TURN OFF AND TURN BACK ON. IT WILL ONLY START AUDIO WHEN IT WANTS TO. DURING THE TIME PERIOD OF NO AUDIO - THE BLUE TOOTH DOES NOT WORK EITHER. I CAN HEAR PEOPLE BUT THEY CANNOT HEAR ME. I HAVE HAD THIS AT THE DEALER AND HAVE BEEN TOLD THERE IS NO FIX FOR THIS. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE. ON STAR WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO HEAR ME , OR I CANNOT MAKE A CALL IF NEEDED IN AN EMERGENCY. THIS IS VERY SERIOUS, I HAVE ASKED FOR A VEHICLE REPLACEMENT. I HAVE BEEN IN CONTACT WITH GENERAL MOTORS WITH NO RESOLUTION AT THIS POINT. THIS TRUCK IS NEW AND SIGNED PAPERS DECEMBER 22ND.
Passenger side lifter Bank failed at 4,000 mi.
The contact owned a 2022 Chevrolet Silverado. The contact stated while in traffic the contact heard an abnormal sound coming from the vehicle, but no warning light was illuminated. When the contact pulled over on the side of the road smoke was coming from under the hood of the vehicle that then became flames. The contact had minor burns to the eyebrows and hair and some items of clothing were burned. The fire department was able to extinguish the fire and a police report was filed. The vehicle was towed by the insurance company. The dealer was contacted but no assistance was provided. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 17,000.
Vehicle was hard shifting from 1st to 2nd gear and back from 2nd to first gear. Periodic hard shifting would occur at highway speeds when attempting to pass. Vehicle was taken into the dealership. Deal had performed a smart learn on the transmission. Problem was corrected for approximately 50 miles. Problem came back and the dealership was contacted but they had no appointments available but stated vehicle was safe to drive. While at a stop light from red to green the vehicle lost all power, would not shift gears and check engine light came on. 7 codes were displayed all around the transmission valve cover and vales. Dealership said the vehicle was safe to drive and could not further diagnose the issue for several weeks. Drove the vehicle home approximately 7 miles and it would not shift out of 2nd gear. Called another dealership who said that the vehicle was not safe to drive and had it towed to the dealership. Dealer took it in replaces the valves and valve body but the vehicle has not been returned as issues are still persisting but dealership cannot locate reason for poor transmission performance and is tearing down the transmission. At this point the vehicle has been down for 2 weeks.
Purchased a 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 RST with the Trailer brake controller installed from GM. Though when I got home and tried moving my trailer I made it roughly 2 miles before the Driver Information Center notified me “Trailer Brakes Disabled Service Required” followed by the trailer brakes no longer working.
The contact owns a 2020 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that while attempting to reverse, he became aware that the display for the rear view camera only displayed the top half of the image. Potentially compromising rear-view visibility. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who diagnosed a failure with the rearview camera programming, but a remedy was not yet available. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but was unable to assist. The failure mileage was 14,000.

After 10000 miles my transmission is shifting erratically, especially in the morning
bran new got it 0 miles. vehicle began stalling and then began jerking now vehicle only has 4000 miles. Dealer said it a transmission problem. the vehicle stated jerking while I was on hwy going about 65-70 miles. No warning lights came on.
The car has been running in remote start mode.mode. The problem with this car is that even when I shut off the vehicle, the engine keeps running.Onstar was able to come in overnight to retrieve the truck and deliver it to the dealer. It's not safe to drive a truck in these conditions, but since my family and I were on the other side of town, we decided to slow down and head home. Note : The truck was full of gas This is a safety issue that must be addressed as people leave their trucks inside their homes while the truck is still on. It also increase the level of CO2 inside the house hold . Another fact while the truck stayed on the air condition system also stayed on ( full power ) and i start smelling burned motor which i belive this would caused fire
I was traveling on Highway at 70mph and all of the sudden heard and odd noise. Throttle gave up everything was dampened. Stealing and brakes did not work. Several warnings went off which I have pictures and video of all. I got to the side of highway thank god safely. I place the truck in park and the lights & warnings remained on. I turned the truck off. Waited a moment and restarted. All warnings were gone and truck acted as normal. LET ME BE VERY CLEAR THIS COULD HAVE BEEN CATASTROPHIC.
I own a 2022 Silverado 1500. I purchased this truck for the purpose of towing my 20ft. trailer, when connecting to my trailer within a few minutes a message comes on trailer brakes disabled service required, i connected to other trailers an get the same message.I took truck back to dealership and they confirmed there’s a problem with truck i was told from service manager that GM is aware of problem but as of now there is no fix, I called GM and was told the same, this is totally unacceptable and dangerous
I had several issues prior to this incident where certain sensors and features were not operating. The incident occurred while I was driving on the highway, I randomly lost my braking ability and my dash lit of saying my brakes had failed. I then tried to push on the brakes and even push the e brake button and got no response. Fortunately, there was no traffic as I was going 75 mph and could’ve been killed. I had to coast to a stop.
Rear camera view intermittently displays a blank or distorted image. This issue occurs almost every time when in reverse. In most occurrences, the screen will alternate between a blank screen with a warning indication and the video display several times within the same occurrence. After the video display reappears, the camera view sometimes freezes and does not display a live feed. These issues contribute to considerable risk and liability when the vehicle is in reverse. This issue is identical to a current recall on another vehicle. Please reference safety recall notice 22S06/ NHTSA Recall 22V082 for correlated information. The dealership refuses to acknowledge the issue and it has already contributed to physical damage when backing into my garage.
During a cold start up once the vehicle is moving, it has a hard time shifting. It jerks makes a loud noise and shift a radically.
The contact owns a 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated while driving 20 MPH with a trailer attached, the “Trailer Brake Disabled” message was displayed. The vehicle was taken to the dealer to be diagnosed. The dealer confirmed knowledge of the failure however, there was no fix for the vehicle. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted, and a case was filed. The contact was referred to the NHTSA Hotline to file a complaint. The failure mileage was 1,400.
Idling rough still. Even after bcm replacement a week ago. Messages for "key not found" only one more start allowed. Grinding noise like over cranking when you hit engine button. Diagnostics showed 93 misfires on cyl 4. No tsb. Drove vehicle again attempting to duplicate and couldn't find issue. Replaced #4 spark plug. Reprogrammed the bcm as dealership forgot a step to program both keys.

Error message states, trailer brakes disabled service required As your towing truck will disable trailer breaks took to gm dealer and simply stated there is no fix right now. This is unsafe when in tow to not have trailer breaks. Gm know and dealer hasn't fixed new truck tons of gm bulletin on this issue.
My truck randomly stops activating the trailer brakes! This is a major safety problem! They are not doing anything to fix it!
My transmission has been slipping and shifting very hard. The dealer tried relearning the transmission twice and that did not solve the problem. The cooler line has failed and now the transmission is being replaced. The radiator also failed and started leaking. The turbo is making either a metal on metal grinding noise or a bearing squeaking noise.
