The contact owns a 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that while driving 45 MPH and depressing the accelerator pedal, the engine seized, and the vehicle lost all power. The contact stated that the vehicle was stuck in the right lane. The vehicle was towed to dealer, where it was diagnosed with engine failure. The contact was informed that the engine needed to be replaced or rebuilt. The contact stated that the timing chain was replaced on two separate occasions. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and opened a case. The approximate failure mileage was 15,121.
Connecting rod and/or crankshaft engine component failure, engine damaged, engine light came on as knocking sound started. I have had to replace the motor as vehicle was undriveable. Engine failure can lead to accidents.
Valve Body failure on transmission
While driving going 40 mph a ‘Brake System Failure’ warning came on and brakes stopped working. Thankfully there were no cars ahead allowing me to continue until the car came to a stop. At that point I engaged the emergency brake and put the car in park and out of gear. I then had the truck towed to a Chevy dealership. I still do not have a response to what the issue is.
While traveling in a funeral possession noticed an engine stall with a blast of smoke coming from rear exhaust.
The contact owns a 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated while driving approximately 10 MPH and slowing for a traffic signal, the vehicle stalled. The contact was unable to restart the vehicle. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact stated that the vehicle was towed to the residence and then towed to a dealer. The contact stated that the vehicle was diagnosed, and it was recommended that the engine be replaced. The contact was aware that the VIN was included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V274000 (Engine and Engine Cooling). The vehicle was repaired; however, after the vehicle was test driven by the dealer, it was found that there were metal shavings in the oil pan, and it was recommended by the dealer to replace the engine. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 20,000.
While driving my 2023 Chevrolet Silverado ZR2 with the 6.2L engine (approx. 22,000 miles) on a busy interstate in another state, the vehicle suddenly lost power and shifted into neutral without warning. I was towing a 5,000-pound camper and had my wife and three children in the truck. We were traveling on a slight incline when the truck unexpectedly disengaged. There were no warning lights, no messages, and no sounds indicating engine failure—just a sudden loss of drive. All displays remained illuminated, but I had no power to the wheels. By the grace of God, I was able to maneuver to the median before the truck and camper came to a complete stop. It was a terrifying and dangerous situation that could have resulted in a major accident given the speed of traffic, the weight of the trailer, and the total lack of warning. The truck was towed to a Chevrolet dealer across the state line. After running diagnostics, I was told the engine had failed and would need to be replaced under warranty. However, I have yet to receive a clear explanation of what exactly failed internally. I was informed that a replacement engine is back-ordered by several months, leaving me without a vehicle and unsure when it will be repaired. The incident has not yet been investigated by the manufacturer, insurance, or law enforcement. This experience was frightening not just because of the mechanical failure, but because it happened with zero indication. I hope others don’t have to go through something like this. I understand thousands of these trucks may never see a failure like this—but for us, it happened suddenly, with our entire family on board, and it nearly ended in disaster.
On [XXX] around [XXX], I was driving my Silverado down [XXX] near the Cottonwood Mall in Albuquerque, NM. Without warning, the engine died in the center lane of this busy highway. I turned on the emergency flashers, then while trying to call for emergency help on my phone, I stood behind the truck, waving traffic to the side lanes in an effort to prevent being rear ended. After about 10 minutes, luckily, an emergency fire department truck spotted my distress and doubled back, parked behind me and engaged his emergency lights. A good Samaritan stopped an attempted to toe strap me to the shoulder of the road. However, the poor design of this truck didn't allow me to put the transmission in neutral unless the vehicle is running. So, after about an hour, the tow truck driver was able to drag the Silverado on the back of his flatbed. After my truck was at the dealer for a week, they were able to determine that the engine main bearings seized and spun a couple of rod bearings. This is a well maintained vehicle, with the oil changes done on time and documented at the dealership. My Silverado has a 6.2 liter V 8.engine with only 21,532 miles on it. The symptoms since the beginning of 2024 have been that when braking between 7 and 10 mph, you feel a bump or a skid, and when you stop, the engine shakes for a moment as if it's going to shut off. This happens with the Auto Stop-Start off. A sudden braking moment can affect the vehicle's performance, making it difficult to control and increasing the risk of accidents, especially when it comes to a pickup truck that may have a trailer with cargo or objects in the bed that can be thrown. The trailer can even leave the road, losing control of the car. In 2024, I took the truck to the place where I bought it, Bomnin Chevrolet Dadeland, for a checkup. I explained all the symptoms to my advisor, just as I do here. I had to take it to wait for a loaner. A few days later, I took it back, and they had it for almost a week. When I picked it up, my advisor told me everything was fine. When I left the dealership, I found the same symptoms, so I went back and told him the car was still doing the same thing, and he told me it was normal. After much insistence, he got in the car with me to show him the problem, and the car did it several times, but according to him, it was normal. Now, in 2025, a week ago I took it to Miami Lakes Auto Mall to get checked out with the same symptoms and explanation. I started investigating why that couldn't possibly be normal car operation. They found they had to replace the torque converter and valve body because they found an excessive amount of metal in the transmission. The valve body is on back order indefinitely at all dealerships, so I had to take the car in that condition. Before taking it, I spoke with the manager and GM to ask them to give me a car until they fixed mine because it wasn't right for me to drive the car like that. But they didn't offer me anything. I took it back to Bomnin Chevrolet Dadeland and they told me they were going to change the transmission and torque converter and conveniently they didn't have to change the valve.
The contact owns a 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated while driving 75 MPH, the vehicle lost motive power with the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, but the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 25,000.
While accelerating from a traffic signal the transmission shifted very hard and caused the vehicle to suddenly lunge forward.
2023 silverado 1500 ZR2 19000 miles, motor shut off going down the freeway pulling my sxs at 70 miles an hour no warning nothing alarm nothing.my wife and i were scared to death trying to get off the freeway pulling a trailer and not knowing if the truck would make it.people around us beeping there horns with flipping us off,no warning.300$ to get my trailer toed back home.dealership tells me they don't have a loner but would give me a voucher.i have been trying to trade out of the truck after hearing about the truck problems 6.2 is a bad motor i new it was just a matter of time. now i am stuck.the scariest part was the timing could not have been worse coming off the freeway.how do i know even when it is fixed it will not happen again.then we could not get the truck in neutral to toe to dealership so they dragged the $80.000 truck on to the toe truck nice.
I was in stop and go traffic, the truck engine turned off I could not get it to crank. I was stuck in the middle of a busy road for at least an hour until the tow truck driver got there. Since the truck has electric shifting for the transmission, I could not get the truck into neutral to at-least push it to a safe place. I was informed by the dealership that there is no neutral override unless the vehicle is running. The shifting and fuel system “fuel module” failure is a know problem from GM and need to be recalled. If this would have happened on the interstate I don’t think the outcome would be great. The truck is a little over 1 year old and has under 15,000 miles. Very dangerous situation.
My onstar module stopped working on my 23 chevy silverado. I am planning a vacation and with out onstar I risk being stranded without this service. My WiFi does not work I can not see the speed limit I am unable to contact onstar for help if needed whether that be for directions, or help if I have and emergency. I can not use the handsfree google assistant I took it to my dealer and when I took it I was 400 miles past the warranty. I was not aware of the issue until I tried the handsfree google assistant and if did not work.
Main bearing failure at 41,000 Miles. No prior warning to issue. Truck is currently at the Chevrolet dealer determining if repair or full engine replacement is needed and parts availability. Check engine light came on when the engine started to make noise.
The tail gate on my 2023 Silverado has started to open on its own both while driving and while stopped as well as attempting to open every 3-5 minutes while the vehicle is off. I contacted Chevrolet after I saw there was open recalls for this exact issue to see if my truck was covered with this recall and to my chagrin it is not. But from what I read, this is the exact issue that other drivers of Silverados between the years of 2020-2024 have been experiencing.
The contact owns a 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the message “Engine oil too Hot” was displayed. While driving 60-70 MPH, the vehicle lost motive power while driving uphill. The vehicle failed to shift into neutral. The contact went underneath the vehicle and removed the drive shaft. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact stated that the failure was related to NHTSA Action Number PE25001 (ENGINE, ENGINE, AND ENGINE COOLING). The vehicle was towed to the residence. The vehicle was then towed to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the engine needed to be replaced. The contact was informed that parts were on backorder. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted, but no assistance was provided. The approximate failure mileage was 66,410.
At 19k miles the transmission had a shifting problem and went into limp mode forcing a deceleration while on a highway. Had to unhook the battery and hook it back up to clear the code to get to a safe point for towing. Had to do this 3 times. Once at the dealer they could not recreate the problem. One week later it went into limp mode again. Took it to the deal and was informed that the valve body in the transmission would need to be replace. There is a supply shortage on parts and I am now without a truck for who knows how long.
The contact owns a 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that while driving approximately 30 MPH, the vehicle stalled. The contact stated that several unknown warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who diagnosed that the lifters had failed. Additionally, metal shavings were found inside the engine. The engine was replaced. The manufacturer was informed of the failure by the dealer. The failure mileage was approximately 61,000. The VIN was not available.
Valve body went bad... like so many others. No ETA on part from GM. Not a good situation from a business owner that needs a truck to conduct business
On 3/1/2025, while driving, my vehicle became unresponsive and inoperable . My vehicle stopped at the intersection in a turn lane. The vehicle engine turned off and a check engine light turned on in the dashboard. There were no sounds or indicators prior to the event. All of the controls became inoperable and unresponsive. When I tried to restart the vehicle it would not turn over. I was unable to shift the vehicle out of park. The dash board showed the message “Conditions Not Correct for Shift”. I tried several different corrective actions and referred to the owners manual but I was unable to do anything. The owners manual didn’t specify how to shift the vehicle when it is not running. I had to call a tow truck because we were in the intersection and it presented a concern for safety for ourselves and others the tow truck tried resetting the vehicle, jumping it, and looked for the manual shift override but were unsuccessful. They pulled my truck onto the tow truck and took it to the dealership where I purchased the vehicle. When we arrived at the dealership the tow truck driver consulted with the dealership personnel and were still unable to determine any cause or how to manually shift the vehicle into neutral. My truck has the 6.2L V8 L87 gasoline engine with only 15466 miles. The dealer confirmed engine failure and is in the process of ordering a new engine. There is no known ETA for the engine because it has become a national issue. I have also read multiple encounters of other owners have multiple engines fail and replaced.
Going 65 on hwy and vehicle looses acceleration
At 383 miles the engine started a ticking noise. Around the same mileage the transmission would also start make hard down shifts, especially into 1st gear. At around 27000 miles transmission would also shutter at light loads and low speeds. Attempted to take it to dealer 2 different times, but they had no loaner cars and needed it for more than a day. At milage 28,251 I drove to the dealership an insisted that it needed to be fixed. They were able to provide loaner car at that time. Engine ticking noise was cylinder number 7 lifter stuck closed. Transmission was unable to be checked due to engine needing repair. The Dealer replace all 8 lifters on drivers side of engine. Upon the fix they test drove for the transmission problem and noticed noise coming from the water pump. Replaced the water pump and was told transmission needed a new valve body. Those parts were on back order for over 3 months. They found a service bulletin to reprogram the transmission so they could release the truck to me instead of hold months for parts. After more than 30 days in shop picked up truck. After driving around for a few hours noticed engine noise again but different. Like a bearing? Dealer had already closed so took it back the next day. Couple days later was informed that the head gasket was installed wrong? REALLY. Went to the dealer's new car manager and asked to be traded out of it and into a new truck. Dealer offered me 10,000 below blue book for trade in! They didn't even want their own product back. Picked up truck couple days later and drove straight to Toyota and traded it in I needed a reliable truck. The dealer's service department was great with the problem. But it's the product that really [XXX] and had the potential to be very dangerous. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
February 9 2024 I was driving down the highway at 65 mph and went to switch lanes and realized engine was no longer running. I pulled over and got a tow to the dealership I purchased it from . Truck only had 5000 miles on it and they told me the engine locked up and needed replacement. They performed an engine replacement. It was not completed until April 6, 2024. Two months to get repaired. Today I was driving down the hightway and again engine blew. I heard a spun bearing noise from engine compartment area. Pulled over and engine shut itslef off . Had it towed back in to find out I am on a line of a bunch of 6.2 engines needing replaicing. Very disappointed in Chevy.
Engine died when I was traveling at highway speed. Not warning lights no check engine lights. Was able to stear to the shoulder but vehicle woulnd't start or go into nuetral. Thankfully on a rural road so was able to get out of danger. Had this happened in a busy environment may not have been so forturnate. Dealer determined that 2 of the connecting rods bent and caused catostrophic engine damage. Since this happened I have read about 100's of other 6.2L gasoline engines having similar issues. This isn't a random occurance and Chevrolet has writted technical memos explaining the issue for thier dealers.
The contact owns a 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the engine made an abnormal knocking sound. No warning light was illuminated. The contact stated that the dealer had previously replaced the fan and performed an oil change a week before the failure. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer, who determined that the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not yet repaired and remained at the dealer. The contact related to the failure to NHTSA Action Number: PE25001 (Engine, Engine and Engine Cooling). The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 40,000.
I was on Expressway with the cruise set on 72 Miles an hour I heard a loud clunk the engine, of course shut off I go down to the gearshift in the console. It said neutral so close it over to the side of the road got stopped as soon as our momentum stopped and we are completely at a standstill the truck put itself in park. I then tried to restart it and it wouldn’t do anything. I contacted OnStar state in my situation and after multiple conversations with them, I disconnected the phone call and contacted my own towing service because we were 51 miles from our home and they would not tell the people there unless I paid for over half of it. They would only tow it to the nearest dealer. We have been a free customer since 1997. We or a family owned Electrical contacting business. My truck is my office. I’m in 90% of my day. I elected to take it to the dealer where we purchased it, and we purchased a good portion of our vehicles over the years and helps that it would be repaired in a timely manner.
While pulling out onto a very busy highway in North Dallas, I had to "step" on it in order to make the turn. Immediatley after making the turn I went to "step" on it and the truck shifted into Neutral with heavy traffic. Luckily I was able to coast to a turning lane safely. Once stopped I was able to place the truck in park. However, after shutting off the truck it was never able to restart. This night was an extremely cold night with subfreezing temperatures. Not being able to start the truck meant no heater and myself and my girlfriend quickly became very cold. After calling OnStar we waiting almost 45 minutes for roadside assistance. However, they were only coming to try and jump start the truck and had to request a second roadside assistance to come and tow the vehicle. The vehicle could not be shifted into Neutral and a flatbed truck had to be used and the truck had to be drug up onto the tow truck. When I first stopped the truck and shifted it into Park, the engine was still running and sounded normal. It just could not be shifted into any gears. However, the GM dealership is telling me the engine seized up and needs to be replaced and could take 4-8 weeks just to locate an engine. Although no one was hurt or injured thankfully, the safety risk when this happened could have been very bad and deadly. Not to mention not being able to have heat during extreme cold temperatures is a safety concern. Had the truck not been able to be parked in a safe area, and not being able to be shifted to Neutral, this also could pose a safety risk.
coolant control valve The check engine light came on when I started the truck and on-star ran the diagnostic and said it is code P1098. After drive 20 miles a popup on the dash stated, "slow down and drive safe". I was on a 60-mph road driving 55-mph and the truck started slowing itself down. Took it to one dealer and they said the part was on back order and didn't say anything else
My truck, which has a 6.2 V8 L87 engine, seized up on the highway while on a road trip. The engine suddenly died with no warning or alerts on the dash. The mechanic told me that the oil pan was full of metal and the engine was completely seized. The engine needs to be replaced entirely at just under 40K miles. I have been diligent in taking the truck in for regular service at the dealership, and I had no indication of any problem with the vehicle until it died on the highway while traveling at 65 mph.
The vehicle check engine light came on and a message displayed "Reduced acceleration. Drive with care." My acceleration was very slow but that was the only symptom, although I was driving speeds under 55 MPH. I took the vehicle to GM with CEL Code P078 and they replaced the high pressure fuel rail. Two days later the CEL came on again with code P228B. I was driving on the highway when the message came on and I could not accelerate the vehicle. If I tried to push the gas pedal more than halfway, I would lose both speed and power. I could not maintain my highway speed very well and could only accelerate if I slightly pressed the gas pedal. This is a serious safety concern because it may cause an accident if I am not able to maintain speed on the freeway. Additionally, this is of concern because I rely on my vehicle to pull a camper, and with this condition, I would be a "sitting duck" with my family in the vehicle. GM continues to diagnosis the issue but has failed to respond in a timeline and satisfactory manner.
Transmission shutters and shakes and dealer said it’s normal for the silverados to shake and shutter at highway speeds even though it’s brand new . and then got treated horribly for getting it towed in
The digital gauge cluster where speedometer and other essential gauges for the vehicle failed. It is available upon request. My safety is at risk as I’m unable to determine speed, monitor ABS, or monitor other essential features that the guage cluster provides. It also periodically blinks on startling me and putting my life and others in danger. The dealership has confirmed this problem and saodnit is a know issue with this year model but my particular VIN number wasn't recalled. The dealership has inspected the part. There were no symptoms or messages prior to the part failing.
Traveling at ~40mph when some knocking could be heard. Pedal manipulation was intermittent. No warnings on the dash. Luckily, I was able to use momentum to get the truck off of the main road and onto a side street. Knocking was heard even louder now - pedal manipulation was now even more intermittent. An error message popped up on the display "Conditions not correct to shift", with no other lights coming on. Truck has now coasted to a stop and the check engine light came on. Cannot put the truck into any other gear. I was lucky enough to not be traveling at a higher rate of speed, but I can see this being a huge safety concern. The truck was towed to a local dealer where i was told that the truck has experienced "Spontaneous Engine Disassembly". However, my service record only states "Check Engine Light On". The attached information is the only thing that I have of the incident and how it's being reported.
On [XXX] I was driving @ 55 MPH. The engine made a loud noise, and completely lost all power and controls. Truck went into natural, all dashboard and screens went black. One I was able to come to a stop the vehicle put itself in park. Truck was towed to Jim Butler in Fenton, MO. I was told by the shop that the 6.2L engine in my truck had a catastrophic failure and needed a new engine. The complete and sudden loss of power and controls put myself and others in danger. No lights or warming of the failure about to happen. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
The contact owns a 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated while driving approximately 55 MPH, the transmission suddenly malfunctioned causing all four wheels to lock up, causing the vehicle to skid. During the failure, the vehicle abruptly decelerated and veered to the left. After the failure, the check engine warning light remained illuminated, and the vehicle went into "LIMP Mode”. The vehicle was driven to the local dealer who diagnosed and determined that the transmission valve body was faulty and needed to be replaced. The transmission valve body was replaced, and the vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 38,000.
I was driving to work from Livingston to Bozeman and the roads were bad so I was only going about 60 maybe 65 which was reasonable for the conditions this day, and out of nowhere my truck locked up and I slid it directly into the center median.
I was pulling into my neighborhood when my engine started rapidly thumping the higher the rpm’s got. I was able to get it to my local Chevrolet dealership. Flaherty Chevrolet in Brandenburg, Ky. They told me it had catastrophic engine failure. I’m currently waiting for a new engine replacement. They’re trying to find a new one, but are having no luck.
Catastrophic engine failure , heard a ticking called dealer where i purchased truck new , was told not to drive it . No warning..
The contact owns a 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated while driving 70 MPH during inclement weather, the transmission unexpectedly downshifted hard, jerking the vehicle, and while slowing down the contact observed a squeaking sound coming from the front of the vehicle. The contact stated that while depressing the accelerator pedal the vehicle failed to accelerate as intended. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was steered off the highway and turned off. The vehicle was not able to be restarted. The vehicle was towed to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 34,000.
There were no symptoms prior to the engine failure. On January 14th, 2025 while driving 58 miles per hour heard a sound that sounded like a slap on the back window. After the slap sound I noticed the engine was not running as normal. There was also a sound coming from the engine like metal rattling around. A few minutes later the check engine light appeared in the instrument panel. Had the vehicle towed to the nearest GM dealership and was informed that the thrust bearing went out which may have caused damage to the crankshaft.
Moter blew with 19,000 miles on a leased vehicle. Blew a rod out of the block and there was no warning light or notice at all. Almost got rear-ended. Took 3 months to replace moter. New motor knocks and ticks...... I also told them the 10 speed transmission slips between seventh and eighth gear they said there's nothing wrong truck still slips between seventh and eighth gear to this day.
Motor seized while driving on freeway at 65 Mph. Coasted to the media on the freeway in the middle of a dividing highway. The highway patrol stopped and then left feeling unsafe. Dealer would not tear down without a $3000 release from me for labor, if not covered under warranty. This is now a federal investigation with this motor and over 86k complaints. I would also like to add, this happened to a new truck my son bought in 2021 Silverado trail boss so GM new about these motors and are still selling them!!!
I was driving on the highway at about 65 mph, when all of the sudden the truck shut off. There was construction in that part of the highway and there was no shoulder for me to drive off to so I kept driving until the truck completely stopped on the highway. I had to jump off the truck from the passenger side with my wife and toddler and jump the median and stood there in the cold for a few hours while a tow truck came to move the truck out of the highway. We did not fell save staying in the car because there was a lot of traffic and we were afraid to get rear ended. I got the truck towed to my house which cost me $600, the next day i called the dealership to come pick it up. They took it and found the engine was completely damaged. They replaced the engine, but with the same engine model that has the defective engine that NHTSA is currently investigating on these engines. So i no longer feel safe nor can i rely on this truck to run my business.
While driving down the highway, a message popped up stating “not suitable to shift” and I lost all acceleration and could only coast. Luckily was able to coast over to the shoulder, where attempts were made to shut down and restart vehicle. Second message came up stating reducing features to save battery. Was unable to restart and a tow was requested. Dealership reported it was unknown why or what caused it but engine was locked up. Engine only had 19k on it with just me as the owner.when purchased brand new 17 months prior.
The contact owns a 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated while driving 65 MPH, the message that the vehicle was in neutral was displayed. The contact pulled over to the side of the road, turned off, and restarted the vehicle however, the gear shifter failed to respond as needed. The vehicle was towed by AAA to the dealer and the dealer was contacted. The vehicle was diagnosed, and the contact was informed that the engine, the radiator, and the oil cooling lines needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 45,000.
Transmission Control Valve Body. known issue on the 10spd transmission. GM will not do a recall. my truck was in the shop for 5 weeks in March 2024. Coolant Control Valve. known issue on these vehicles. GM will not do a recall. my truck is currently on its 4th week in the shop. and they are telling me it's 2-6 months out for the part. GM is continuing to manufacture new vehicles while those who already own vehicles are stuck waiting on a backordered part.
The contact owns a 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V674000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The dealer was made aware of the issue and confirmed that parts were not yet available. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue and confirmed that parts were not yet available. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.
Transmission seal failure caused fluid to leak, transfer case had metal present and had to be flushed, multiple electrical issues where there was no sound and buttons on back left of steering wheel wouldn't function, vehicle put itself in neutral when passing and gave a conditions not favorable for shift change when I tried to put it in park. Eventually put itself in park and I was able to get home. Dash went black, ticking sounds quickly escalated to the motor blowing thankfully close to a dealership on 1/2/2025. Still awaiting a timeframe or information on what will happen. Unable to attach video
I have a 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 and the OnStar is completely out the dealership say they have no idea when a module will be ready. I have talked to and seen several forums on this. Everyone states it’s a huge problem and now they want to charge up to $1000 to replace the module it is not covered by warranty. I cannot even use my navigation my security all the things that OnStar provides due to this module problem they have it seems to be getting bigger and more widespread. We should not have to pay for something that has nothing to do with the warranty of the truck. It is a malfunction with OnStar and Chevrolet
