I BOUGHT THIS VEHICLE USED, THE DAY I GOT IT HOME IT SUDDENLY HAD NO OIL PRESSURE. CHEVY DEALERSHIP PUT A "PATCH" ON ITS BOO-BOO AND SENT ME HOME. NOW AT 140,000 MILES I ONCE AGAIN HAVE NO OIL PRESSURE. CHEVY SAYS I NEED A NEW ENGINE AND OF COURSE I'M NO LONGER UNDER WARRANTY. APPROXIMATE COST $6,700. THIS VEHICLE LEFT ME STRANDED ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD TWICE. I HAVE FOUND HUNDREDS OF COMPLAINTS OF THE EXACT SAME ISSUE (SAME YEAR, MAKE AND MODEL) I'M HAVING AND CHEVROLET HAS YET TO ISSUE A RECALL ON THIS DEFECTIVE MOTOR. THE COMPANY RETURNED CORRESPONDENCE WITH ME AND INFORMED ME THAT THEIR "CALCULATOR" SAYS THEY CANNOT OFFER ME ANY ASSISTANCE. I NOW HAVE A 4 MONTH OLD SON AND OVER A FOOT OF SNOW EXPECTED IN MY AREA OVER THE NEXT 24 HOURS. WHAT HAPPENS IF HE IS SICK AND I HAVE NO MEANS TO GET HIM TO A DOCTOR BECAUSE OF THIS ISSUE CHEVROLET WON'T OWN UP TO? *TR
MY VEHICLE USES 1 QT OF OIL EVERY 2000 MILES RIGHT NOW, IT WAS EVERY 4,000. SO THE PROBLEM SEEMS TO BE GETTING WORSE. WHEN I SHARED THIS WITH THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT AT BOTH CHEVROLET AND CHEVROLET, THEIR RESPONSE WAS THAT MY ISSUE WAS STILL WITH IN SPECIFICATIONS. I DIDN'T REALIZE THAT OIL CONSUMPTION WAS ACCEPTABLE. GM, INSTEAD OF FIXING THE PROBLEM APPEAR TO BE IGNORING IT. I HAVE AN 06 CHEVY SILVERADO THAT HAS NEVER USED A QT OF OIL. WE HAVE A 2007 CHEVY SUBURBAN THAT HAS HAD 2 FUEL LEVEL SENSORS REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY. WE ARE NOW OUT OF WARRANTY WITH 48,000 MILES ON THE VEHICLE AND THE FUEL GAUGE IS AGAIN DISPLAYING INACCURATE FUEL LEVELS. WE HAVE TWICE RAN OUT OF FUEL WHEN THE GAUGE SHOWED A QUARTER TANK. *TR

2007 CHEVY SUBURBAN. CONSUMER STATES PROBLEMS WITH VEHICLE TIRES *TGW THE CONSUMER STATED HE EXPERIENCED TWO DELAMINATED CORD FAILURES. THE TIRES CONTINUED TO HOLD AIR, BUT WAS COMPLETELY DISTORTED. *JB
CHECK AIR BAG LIGHT CAME ON. HAD IT CHECKED OUT AT A GM DEALER, BUT THEY COULD NOT TELL ME IF IT WOULD BE $400 OR $4,000. I HAVE A REAL PROBLEM PAYING THIS MUCH FOR AN ITEM THAT I FEEL SHOULD BE COVERED UNDER RECALL. AS A SAFETY PROFESSIONAL, I THINK IT IS UNCONSCIONABLE TO DRIVE WITHOUT AN AIR BAG, BUT THE COST IS ALSO UNCONSCIONABLE WHEN THE VEHICLE HAS ONLY $65,000 MILES. I MAY WEIGH MY OPTIONS AND PARK IT IN THE HOPES OF HEARING ABOUT A RECALL. *TR
THE VEHICLE INTERMITTENTLY EXHIBITS A DEAD BATTERY. THIS HAPPENS REGARDLESS OF WHETHER THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN DRIVEN FOR HUNDREDS OF MILES OR NONE AT ALL. AT SEEMINGLY RANDOM TIMES, WE GO TO START THE VEHICLE AND THE BATTERY IS DEAD. WE HAVE HAD THE BATTERY, ALTERNATOR AND CABLES TESTED. ALL TESTED GOOD. WE ALSO NOTICE THAT AROUND THE SAME TIME THIS PROBLEM STARTED OCCURRING, THAT ENGINE NOISE COULD BE HEARD THROUGH THE VEHICLE SPEAKERS REGARDLESS OF WHETHER THE STEREO IS ON. THIS ALSO OCCURS AT INTERMITTENT INTERVALS. WE HAVE TAKEN TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY CANNOT REPRODUCE THE PROBLEM IN SHOP IN ORDER TO TROUBLESHOOT. PARASITIC DRAW TEST IS NEGATIVE DUE TO THE FACT THAT THE PROBLEM IS INTERMITTENT AND NOT CONSTANT. *TR
THE CHROME SURFACE OF THE INSIDE DRIVER AND FRONT PASSENGER DOOR HANDLES PEELED, CAUSING VERY SHARP SURFACES, WHICH CUT OUR HANDS LIKE A RAZOR BLADE. *TR
VEHICLE HAS EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION, USING MORE THAN 1 QUART OF OIL EVERY 2K MILES. I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE AT A GM DEALERSHIP WITH 67K MILES ON IT. THEY TOLD ME IT WAS JUST SERVICED, AND THE DIPSTICK SHOWED TO BE AT THE FULL LINE WITH CLEAN OIL. ABOUT 4K MILES LATER THE LOW ENGINE OIL LIGHT CAME ON. THE ENGINE OIL LIFE INDICATOR SAID IT HAD 49% LIFE LEFT. I CHECKED THE OIL LEVEL AND FOUND IT WAS MORE THAN 2 QUARTS LOW. I HAVE RESEARCHED THIS AND FOUND THAT GM IS EITHER UNABLE OR UNWILLING TO REPAIR. I WILL CONTACT THE SELLING DEALER FOR THE RECORD. *LN

THE CHROME ON BOTH THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE INTERIOR DOOR HANDLES IS PEELING OFF AND CUTS YOUR FINGERS EVERYTIME YOU TRY TO OPEN THE DOOR. *TR
JANUARY 2011: I'M HAVING THE EXACT SAME PROBLEMS WITH MY 2007 SUBURBAN AS THE COMPLAINT FILED ON JUNE 13, 2010. THIS IS A PROBLEM THAT I HAD WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS NEW, AS WELL. THE ENGINE SEEMED TO BE SPUTTERING WHILE IDLING TODAY AND BY THE END OF THE DAY IT LOST ITS STABILITY CONTROL WITH WARNING SIGNALS ILLUMINATED ON THE DASH. THE TRANSMISSION IS BUCKING OUT OF 1ST GEAR AND BEGINS TO GRIND SLOWLY FROM A STOP. I CONCUR THAT THIS PROBLEM SHOULD BE RECALLED, AS IT POSES GREAT DANGER ON THE ROAD. *TR
I ATTEMPTED TO OPEN MY DRIVER SIDE DOOR. THE CHROME IS BEGINNING TO PEEL OFF AND IT SLICED INTO MY MIDDLE FINGER. MY WIFE CUT HER FINGER ON THE CHROME HANDLE YESTERDAY. *TR
DASH HAS CRACK NEAR PASSENGER AIR BAG AND BEHIND INSTRUMENT PANEL
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET SUBURBAN. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG WAS FRACTURED AND THE CRACKED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER YET VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND THEY STATED THEY WOULD RETURN THE CONTACTS CALL. THE CONTACT HAD NOT RECEIVED A RETURN CALL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 56,800.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET SUBURBAN. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD CONSUME UP TO THREE QUARTS OF OIL EVERY THREE THOUSAND MILES. THE CONTACT STATED THE VEHICLE HAS NOT SUFFERED ANY DAMAGES DUE TO THE EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER TO DIAGNOSE THE OIL PROBLEM WHERE THE DEALER ADVISED THAT THEY WOULD REPLACE THE PISTONS AND PISTON RINGS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE REPAIR POSSIBLY WOULD NOT REMEDY THE ISSUE OF THE OIL CONSUMPTION. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 63,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET SUBURBAN. THE CONTACT STATED THAT FUEL COULD BE SMELLED FROM THE INTERIOR CABIN OF THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT MADE REPAIRS TO THE FUEL SYSTEM BUT NONE OF THE REPAIRS REMEDIED THE ODOR. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO DETERMINE THAT THE FUEL TANK WAS LEAKING AND REPLACED THE FITTED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT SINCE THE REPAIR, THE FUEL ODOR COULD ONLY BE SMELLED AFTER REFUELING THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 75,000.

I HAVE A 2007 CHEVROLET 4WD SUBURBAN LS THAT HAS ITS TRANSMISSION REBUILT BECAUSE THE TRUCK JUST WON'T GO. IT HAS 34K PLUS MILES AND 42 MONTH OLD. I WANTED TO KNOW IF THIS IS COMMON ON THIS KIND OF VEHICLE AND WHY DID IT HAPPEN. *TR
I WOULD LIKE TO CALL YOUR ATTENTION TO AN ACCIDENT THAT HAPPENED TO MY 17 MONTH OLD GRANDDAUGHTER. IN ATTEMPTING TO STEADY HERSELF WHILE WALKING, SHE ACCIDENTALLY TOUCHED THE TIRE ON MY DAUGHTER'S CHEVROLET SUBURBAN. HER SMALL HAND SLIPPED THROUGH THE HUB CAP SPACE AND CAME IN CONTACT WITH THE HOT BRAKE PAD, CAUSING HER TO SUFFER 2ND DEGREE BURNS ON THE PALM OF HER HAND. IT IS MY BELIEF THAT THIS MUST HAVE HAPPENED TO OTHER YOUNG CHILDREN. PARENTS WITH WHOM MY DAUGHTER AND I HAVE SPOKEN HAD NO IDEA THAT BRAKE PADS WERE SO ACCESSIBLE. I AM CONCERNED THAT THE PUBLIC IS NOT AWARE OF THIS DANGER AND SHOULD BECOME AWARE AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FRONT PASSENGER AND REAR DRIVER SIDE DOOR HANDLES BOTH CUT INTO THE FINGERS OF PASSENGERS WHILE ATTEMPTING TO EXIT THE VEHICLE. THE DEALER WAS NOTIFIED AND THE FRONT PASSENGER DOOR HANDLE WAS REPLACED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 67,138 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE 85,000.
THERE IS A RECALL FOR THE CHROME DOOR HANDLES ON THE 2007 CHEVROLET TAHOE, BUT I AM HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM WITH THE CHROME IN MY 2007 CHEVROLET SUBURBAN. THE DEALER SAYS THE SUBURBAN IS NOT PART OF THE RECALL EVEN THOUGH IT IS THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM IN ALMOST THE SAME CAR. THIS RECALL NEEDS TO BE EXPANDED. A FEW MONTHS AGO, THE SEAT BELT IN THE SECOND ROW (LEFT SIDE, BEHIND THE DRIVER'S SEAT) OF MY 2007 CHEVROLET SUBURBAN COMPLETELY FELL APART. ON MARCH 6, 2012, THE PASSENGER SIDE SEAT BELT STOPPED WORKING AND WILL NOT LOCK. ON MARCH 7, 2012, THE DRIVER'S SIDE SEAT BELT STOPPED WORKING AND WILL NOT LOCK. DUE TO SEAT BELT LAWS IN OUR STATE AND THREE CHILDREN THAT HAVE TO BE IN SEAT BELTS, I AM IN A DILEMMA. *TR

AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WAS NOTIFIED AND STATED THAT THEY WOULD REPLACE ALL OF THE DOOR HANDLES UNDER THE WARRANTY. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE CHROME PAINT ON ALL OF THE DOOR HANDLES WAS CHIPPING. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 22,235.
THE ENGINE CONSUMES APPROX 1 QUART OF OIL EVERY 1700 MILES. THERE IS NO OIL LEAKING UNDER THE VEHICLE. *TR
I AM SEEING AN EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION ISSUE WITH MY 2007 CHEVY SUBURBAN. FROM MY MEASURE IT IS CONSUMING 4 1/2 QTS OF OIL PER 3000 MILES. THE DEALER ACKNOWLEDGED THAT THIS IS A "KNOWN" ISSUE BUT DIDN'T PERFORM ANY REPAIRS. I AM INSTEAD PERFORMING AN OIL CONSUMPTION TEST. THAT'S FINE BUT I NOW HAVE A FAMILY VEHICLE THAT I CANT TRUST FOR ANTICIPATION OF ENGINE FAILURE/LOCK UP OR WORSE ENGINE BURN UP OR FIRE FROM A LOW OIL CONDITION. *TR
WIRE HARNESS UNDERNEATH VEHICLE RUBBING ON DRIVE SHAFT CAUSING ELECTRICAL ISSUES. BATTERY DRAIN, COMPRESSOR FOR AIR RIDE BURNING OUT, STABILITY CONTROL WARNING LIGHT COMING ON AND VARIOUS OTHER ELECTRICAL ISSUES.
I HAVE A 2007 CHEVY SUBURBAN; I HAVE A CRACK IN MY HARD PLASTIC DASHBOARD THAT BEGINS WHERE THE DASH STARTS AT THE WINDOW AND EXTENDS FORWARD TOWARDS THE DRIVER SEAT HALF WAY UP THE CURVE WHERE THE SPEEDOMETER IS. APPARENTLY I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE REPORTING THIS. THERE IS REALLY NO GOOD FIX OUTSIDE OF GETTING A NEW DASHBOARD FOR A LOT OF MONEY. I AM NOT VERY HAPPY ABOUT SOMETHING THAT CRACKS, SUCH AS MY DASHBOARD THAT CANNOT BE FIXED AND MUST BE REPLACED. ALSO, THE CHROME IS PEELING OF BOTH FRONT INTERIOR DOOR HANDLES CAUSING SMALL MINOR CUTS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHERE THE DOORS WERE REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 20,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGES WERE APPROXIMATELY 26,000. INSIDE RIGHT AND LEFT DOOR HANDLE CHROME PLATING COMING OFF CAUSING SHARP EDGE, RESULTING IN CUTS. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET SUBURBAN 1500. THE CONTACT STATED THAT REAR DOOR LOCKS WOULD NOT UNLOCK WHEN HE SHIFTED INTO PARK GEAR. HE HAD TO MANUALLY UNLOCK THE REAR DOORS TO OPEN THEM. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE LOCKS WERE FAILING AND HE WOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE REPAIR COSTS. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED WHEN THE COMPLAINT WAS FILED. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 53,880. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 52,000.
ENGINE STARTED IDLING ROUGH AND THE 'ENGINE LIGHT' CAME ON AND STAYED ON.THEN THE NEXT DAY, WENT TO START CAR AND IT WAS REALLY IDLING ROUGH, SPUTTERING, THEN STABLITRAK LIGHT AND 'TRACTION CONTROL OFF' LIGHT AND ABS LIGHTS ALL CAME ON. THE CAR FELT LIKE IT WAS GOING TO DIE UNTIL ABOUT 20 MPH, THEN MADE A JERKING MOTION AND RAN FINE. THIS CONTINUED TO HAPPEN UNTIL I TOOK IT TO THE SHOP. THEY KEPT IT FOR A WEEK, REPLACED THE FUEL PUMP, BUT THIS DID NOT FIX THE PROBLEM. THE CAR STILL RUNS ROUGH AND THE LIGHTS STILL COME ON WHENEVER I HAVE TO IDLE, INTERSECTIONS, ETC... I HAVE BEEN READING AND I AM CONCERNED THAT THERE IS NO FIX FOR THIS PROBLEM. I BELIEVE IT IS A FAULTY ENGINE/ELECTRICAL ISSUE AND THERE NEEDS TO BE A RECALL. THIS IS COMPLETELY DANGEROUS, IF MY STABILITRAK SYSTEM GOES OFF AND I AM ON UNSTABLE GROUND, RAIN, SNOW, ETC... IT WILL CAUSE MY CAR TO BRAKE AND I WILL LOOSE CONTROL OF MY CAR. I AM WORRIED THAT IT IS GOING TO DIE IN AN INTERSECTION, SINCE IT HAS A HARD TIME COMING OUT OF AN IDLE WITH ANY POWER. *TR
THE DASHBOARD IS CRACKED ON BOTH THE PASSENGER AND DRIVER SIDE. THE CRACK ON THE PASSENGER SIDE IS CONCERNING BECAUSE IF THE AIRBAG DEPLOYS THE DASHBOARD US GOING WITH IT AND WHO EVER IS ON THAT SIDE WILL BE HIT WITH THE PIECES.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET SUBURBAN 1500. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO ACCELERATE WHEN THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED AND THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO REVERSE. THE CONTACT HAD TO IMMEDIATELY PLACE THE SHIFT LEVER INTO THE PARK POSITION. THE FAILURE OCCURRED FOUR TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO STATED THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE PERSISTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 50,000.
CRACKED DASH. THE VEHICLE'S DASH BEGAN TO CRACK IN SEVERAL PLACES INCLUDING ADJACENT TO THE PASSENGER AIRBAG WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS APPROXIMATELY TWO YEARS OLD. AT THE THREE YEAR POINT (MID 2010), JUST OUTSIDE OF THE WARRANTY PERIOD, I WAS ABLE TO CONVINCE THE LOCAL DEALER TO REPLACE THE DASH AT A 50% COST TO ME. ALMOST EXACTLY THREE YEARS LATER (MID 2013) I DEVELOPED THE EXACT SAME CRACKS. UPON CONSULTATION WITH THE DEALER I WAS TOLD THERE WAS NO GM PROGRAM TO MITIGATE THE COST OF A SECOND REPLACEMENT. MY CONCERN IS WITH REGARD TO THE IMPENDING PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG RECALL. HOW WILL THE AIRBAG BE REPLACED WITHOUT REMOVING AND REPLACING THE SEVERELY CRACKED DASH. THE BRITTLE PLASTIC ASSOCIATED WITH THIS DASH, SPECIFICALLY IN THE VICINITY OF THE PASSENGER AIRBAG IS A SAFETY CONCERN.
THE EXTERIOR DOOR HANDLES PULL OUT OF THE CAR BODY ON MY 2007 CHEVY LTZ SUBURBAN.. THE DESIGN APPEARS TO USE PLASTIC PLUGS THAT EITHER BREAK APART OR DETERIORATE, CAUSING THE DOOR HANDLES TO BREAK LOOSE WHEN GRABBED AND PULLED TO OPEN THE DOORS. MY HANDLES HAVE ALL BROKEN LOOSE AT THE FORWARD END OF THE HANDLE, WITH THE REAR END REMAINING ATTACHED. THIS HAS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES, THE FIRST OF WHICH MAY HAVE BEEN IN 2010. I BELIEVE I INITIALLY HAD THE DRIVERS DOOR AND THE RIGHT REAR DOOR HANDLES REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY (BEFORE 3 YEAR/36,000 MILES). I BELIEVE THAT A SECOND INCIDENT HAPPENED TO THE FRONT RIGHT (PASSENGER) DOOR, POSSIBLY IN 2011, AND THE DEALER ALSO REPLACED IT WITHOUT CHARGE AS PART OF A GM ACKNOWLEDGED DEFECTIVE ITEM RECALL. RECENTLY, IN APRIL 2013, I AGAIN NOTICED THE FRONT RIGHT PASSENGER DOOR HANDLE HAD BROKEN AGAIN. I JUST HAD THE CAR IN FOR SERVICING AT THE CHEVY DEALER, HOWEVER I WAS TOLD THAT THE MANAGER STATED THAT I WOULD HAVE TO PAY (PROX $200) TO HAVE THE DOOR HANDLE REPLACED. I PAID FOR THE REPAIR AND WILL HAVE TO FILE A CLAIM WITH GM FOR REIMBURSEMENT. I HAVE SEEN MANY REPORTS ON THE INTERNET ABOUT THIS DEFECTIVE DOOR HANDLE PROBLEM ON 2007 CHEVY SUBURBANS, AS WELL AS ON SIMILAR GM VEHICLES. THE DOOR HANDLE IS A VERY POOR DESIGN THAT GM SHOULD HAVE CORRECTED, AND HAVE REPLACEMENT HANDLES PROVIDED AT NO CHARGE TO CAR OWNERS. THIS IS MY THIRD SUBURBAN GOING BACK TO 1992, ALL OF WHICH HAVE NEVER HAD ANY SERIOUS DEFECTS. I TAKE CARE OF MY SUBURBAN, AND IT LOOKS ALMOST NEW HAVING ONLY 33,800 MILES. I AM SINGLE, AND ONLY OCCASIONALLY HAVE OTHER PASSENGERS IN THE CAR, WHO MAY USE THE OTHER DOOR HANDLES. THIS MEANS THAT ALL THE DOOR HANDLES HAVE NOT BEEN USED THAT OFTEN. THERE IS OBVIOUSLY A DESIGN FLAW IN THE ATTACHMENT OF THESE DOOR HANDLES TO THE CAR BODY. THIS SHOULD HAVE BEEN CORRECTED BY GM., AND REPLACEMENTS OFFERED OWNERS. *TR
I BOUGHT THIS SUBURBAN USED IN 2010 WITH ABOUT 32,000 MILES ON THE ODOMETER. I AM THE 2ND OWNER. FROM THE DAY I BOUGHT IT, IT HAS BURNED OIL. THE ADD OIL LIGHT COMES ON HALF WAY THROUGH A OIL CHANGE. IT'S MY 3RD SUBURBAN. NEITHER OF THOSE TWO HAD EVER BURNED OIL. IT WAS STILL UNDER FACTORY WARRANTY, SO I TOOK IT TO COURTESY CHEVROLET IN PHOENIX. THEY PUT IT ON A OIL WATCH. I HAD TO BRING THE TRUCK BACK IN EVERY THOUSAND MILES SO THEY COULD CHECK THE BURN RATE. THEY ALWAYS SAID IT WAS NORMAL PER CHEVY BURN RATES. REALLY? CHECK THE INTERNET FOR 2007 CHEVROLET ENGINE OIL, HIGH BURN RATES AND YOU WILL SEE THAT MINE IS NOT THE ONLY ENGINE THAT BURNS OIL. IT SOUNDS LIKE CHEVROLET KNEW THERE WAS A PROBLEM, AND INSTEAD OF FIXING THE PROBLEM WITH INTEGRITY, THEY CHANGED THEIR BURN RATES SO THEY WOULDN'T HAVE TO. I HAVE LOST ALL FAITH IN CHEVROLET. I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER CHEVROLET PRODUCT.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET SUBURBAN. THE CONTACT STATED THAT AFTER REFUELING, FUEL SPEWED OUT FROM THE FUEL TANK. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FIRE DEPARTMENT HAD TO BE CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 40,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 111,000.
BATTERY IN 2007 SUBURBAN LTZ DRAINED TWICE HAD TO BE JUMPED AND THEN TAKEN TO DEALER THEN HAD TO BE REPLACED. *TR
I WAS DRIVING ON HIGHWAY 52 AROUND WINSTON SALEM, NC ON THRUSDAY MARCH 18TH, 2010 WHEN ALL (4) AIRBAGS DEPLOYED. I WAS TRAVELING ABOUT 60 MPH IN THE LEFT LANE OF MULTI-LANE TRAFFIC; BUT WAS ABLE TO KEEP CONTROL OF THE CAR, CHANGE LANES AND GET TO AN EXIT AND STOP THE VEHICLE. THERE WAS NO COLLISION OR WARNING THAT THE AIRBAGS WERE GOING TO DEPLOY. THE VEHICLE WAS TURNED OVER TO THE DEALER ON 3/20/2010 TO INVESTIGATE AND FOLLOW UP WITH GM. ON 3/22/10 THE DEALER CALLED AND SAID THEY HAD LOOKED AT THE CAR BUT WERE INSTRUCTED BY GM NOT TO DO ANYTHING FURTHER AND THAT I NEED TO CALL GM TO GET A CASE # FOR AN INVESTIGATION. I CALLED AND AFTER SEVERAL TRANSFERS AND CALL BACKS I WAS ASSIGNED CASE # 71-814346366 AND TOLD THAT I WOULD GET A CALL BACK WITHIN TWO BUSINESS DAYS ON WHAT ACTIONS WERE BEING TAKEN. ON 3/25/10 I RECEIVED A CALL AND WAS INFORMED THAT AN INSPECTOR WOULD BE SENT TO THE DEALERSHIP TO CHECK OUT THE CAR. TO DATE HAVE I RECEIVED NO FURTHER COMMUNICATIONS FROM GM AND AS OF 4/8/10 THE DEALERSHIP HAS NOT RECEIVED ANY NOTICE ON WHEN OR IF AN INSPECTOR IS SCHEDULED TO CHECK OUT THE CAR. THIS WAS A SERIOUS INCIDENT AND SHOULD HAVE BEEN INVESTIGATED IMMEDIATELY. THERE A THOUSANDS OF SIMILAR VEHICLES ON THE ROAD THAT COULD HAVE THE SAME DEFECT AND IT SEEMS THE MANUFACTURER DOESN'T WANT TO FIND OUT WHAT THE PROBLEM IS. THE CHROME ON FRONT PASSENGER INTERIOR DOOR HANDLE IS PEELING OFF, CREATING A SHARP EDGE THAT I HAVE CUT MYSELF ON WHEN OPENING THE DOOR. OTHER PASSENGERS HAVE CUT THEMSELVES ON IT AS WELL. *TR
JUST USING THE DOOR HANDLE TO GET INTO MY SUBURBAN ON THE PASSENGER SIDE LIKE ANY REASONABLE PERSON, NOT ROUGHLY OR BEARING WEIGHT, AND THE PLASTIC HANDLE BROKE AND PULLED OUT ON ONE END. SAME BREAKAGE OCCURRED WITH REAR DOOR AS WELL WHEN ONE OF MY CHILDREN WAS OPENING THE DOOR. MADE THE FOLKS AT OUR LOCAL CHEVROLET SERVICE SHOP AWARE WHILE HAVING MY OIL CHANGED AND THEY QUOTED A PRICE ~$245. NO OFFER TO HELP COVERING ANY PART AND THIS WAS WHILE MY FULL WARRANTY WAS STILL ACTIVE. THE FOLKS THAT WORK THERE ARE KIND AND HELPFUL. WHAT I AM TRYING TO CONVEY IS THAT I DON'T THINK THEY WERE BEING RUDE, IT WAS JUST NOT SOMETHING THEY WERE APPROVED TO COVER. I COULDN'T BELIEVE THAT SUCH A LUXURY VEHICLE WOULD HAVE PLASTIC HANDLES THAT BROKE OFF SO EASILY AND THAT FOR THE QUALITY AND REPUTATION THE COMPANY DOESN'T WANT THEIR PRODUCT TO LOOK LIKE A LUXURY PRODUCT. PEOPLE WILL BE SEEN DRIVING A VEHICLE WITH THEIR NAME ON IT AND THE DOOR HANDLES ARE HANGING OFF. IT WORRIES ME TO CONSIDER WHAT SAFETY ISSUES COULD ARISE IF SOMEONE WERE NOT ABLE TO GET INSIDE THE CAR IN AN EMERGENT SITUATION. *TR

2007 CHEVY SUBN. WITH 26K MILES PARKED IN MY DRIVEWAY AT MY NAPLES FL.HOUSE. CAUGHT FIRE UNDER HOOD AND BURNED UP. HAD NOT BEEN USED IN 24+ HRS AND NOBODY WAS IN THE VEHICLE AND CAR WAS LOCKED. NO KEY IN VEHICLE. GM GAVE ME REF # 71-799805495. *TR
