IN 2006, I WOULD HAVE INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS WITH MY 2004 CHEVROLET TAHOE. WHEN TRYING TO ACCELERATE FROM A STOP, THE TRACTION ACTIVE DISPLAY WOULD LIGHT UP AND THE VEHICLE WOULD LAG AND NOT ACCELERATE. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO BERNARD CHEVROLET IN LIBERTYVILLE, ILLINOIS, AND THEY ADVISED ME THAT I SHOULD BRING IT BACK WHEN THE PROBLEM OCCURRED REGULARLY. IN 2008 THE PROBLEM BEGAN TO GET BAD, AND THE TAHOE WOULD LAG WHEN I TRIED TO ACCELERATE FROM A STOP AND THE TRACTION ACTIVE LIGHT WOULD COME ON. THIS HAPPENED AT LEAST ONCE A DAY ON MY FOUR MILE COMMUTE TO WORK. ON TWO OCCASIONS I WAS ALMOST INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT DUE TO THE LAGGING OF THE VEHICLE. I BROUGHT THE CAR INTO LIBERTYVILLE CHEVROLET (THE DEALERSHIP THAT REPLACED BERNARD CHEVROLET AFTER THEY WENT OUT OF BUSINESS), AND THE VEHICLE WAS KEPT OVER NIGHT. THEY SCANNED IT AND FOUND NO PROBLEM CODES AND THEN THEY INSTALLED AN UPDATED PROGRAM AND IT TESTED OKAY. I PAID $115.00 AND THEN AS I EXITED THE PARKING LOT OF THE DEALERSHIP, THE TAHOE LAGGED AS I TRIED TO ACCELERATE AND THE TRACTION ACTIVE LIGHT CAME ON. I LOOKED AT MY ODOMETER AND IT READ 38,746 (CAME IN FOR SERVICE AT 38,745), HOWEVER, WHEN I LOOKED AT THE RECEIPT I NOTED THAT THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT HAD PUT THE MILEAGE OUT AT 38,748. THE VEHICLE WAS OBVIOUSLY NOT TEST DRIVEN AFTER THE SERVICE, HOWEVER, THEY TRIED TO MAKE IT APPEAR THAT IT WAS. KEVIN P #475 WAS THE TECHNICIAN AT LIBERTYVILLE CHEVROLET. THE $115 CHARGE WAS REIMBURSED, HOWEVER, CHEVROLET HAS MADE NO OFFERS TO FIX THIS DANGEROUS CONDITION ON MY VEHICLE. THE PROBLEM HAS BEEN THE TOPIC OF MANY PROBLEM AUTO CHAT DISCUSSIONS, AND APPARENTLY THE PROBLEM IS RELATED TO WHEEL SENSORS THAT PREMATURELY CORRODE ON THE TAHOES AND YUKONS. I HAVE MANAGED THE PROBLEM BY LETTING OF THE ACCELERATOR WHEN THE PROBLEM OCCURS, AND THIS APPARENTLY DISENGAGED THE MALFUNCTIONING TRACTION ACTIVE MODE. THIS IS A DANGEROUS PROBLEM THAT SHOULDN'T OCCUR ON A $43,000 VEHICLE WITH 38,000 MILES. *TR
2004 CHEVY TAHOE WITH 33,605 MILES AND SPEEDOMETER HAS STOPPED FUNCTIONING, REST OF INSTRUMENT PANEL WORKING FINE. *TR
MY TAHOE THAT HAS 59,000 MILES,THE SPEEDOMETER STARTED STICKING AND NOW HAS QUIT. THE SPEEDOMETER NOW READS O. CHECKED ALL FUSES NO BLOWN ONES TO BE FOUND. MECHANIC TELLS ME ITS COMMON PLACE WITH THE TAHOE AND VERY EXPENSIVE TO FIX. *TR
2004 CHEVROLET TAHOE SPEEDOMETER JUST QUIT WORKING YESTERDAY ON A ROAD TRIP. NO INDICATING CIRCUMSTANCES LEAD UP TO FAILURE. SPEEDOMETER CONTINUES TO RISE UNTIL IT REACHES 120 MPH AND JUST STAYS THERE. DEALER SAYS THEY WILL NOT REPAIR BECAUSE VEHICLE IS OVER 70K MILES, EVEN THOUGH THEY HAVE KNOWN ABOUT THE ISSUE FOR YEARS. PLEASE ADVISE. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 CHEVROLET TAHOE. WHENEVER HE MADE A RIGHT OR LEFT TURN WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 25 MPH OR MORE, THE STEERING WHEEL MADE A CLANKING NOISE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER AND THEY WERE UNABLE TO FIND CAUSE OF THE FAILURE OR HEAR THE NOISE IN THE VEHICLE. THEY ALSO INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THERE WERE NO SAFETY DEFECTS. THE COST OF REPAIR FOR THIS FAILURE WOULD BE $200 AND THERE WERE NO WARRANTY OR RECALLS. THE CHEVROLET MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CALLED. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 CHEVROLET TAHOE. WHILE SITTING AT A STOP LIGHT THE SPEEDOMETER READ 100 MPH. THE FAILURE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED BY A DEALER. WHEN THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS WERE TURNED ON THEY WOULD NOT SHUT OFF UNTIL THE VEHICLE WAS TURNED OFF. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 74,000.
WELL WHERE SHOULD I BEGIN, THE FIRST PROBLEM WAS THE CLUNKING OF THE FRONT END WHEN GOING IN AND OUT OF DRIVEWAYS,THE FIRST STEERING SHAFT WAS REPLACED, A COUPLE OF MONTHS LATER THE SPEEDOMETER STARTED MAKING NOISE,THAT WAS REPLACED,THEN THE CLUNKING NOISE REAPPEARED, THIS TIME IT SUPPOSEDLY NEEDED TO BE LUBED, IT WAS FINE, HOWEVER NOISE REAPPEARED, THEN THE SECOND SHAFT WAS INSTALLED,THE TIRE SENSOR LIGHT INTERMITTENTLY COMES ON WHEN EVER IT FEELS LIKE IT, AND TIRE PRESSURE IS NORMAL, NOW THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS WILL NOT SHUT OFF WHEN IT RAINS EXCEPT WHEN YOU TURN THE VEHICLE OFF, HOWEVER THEY COME BACK ON WHEN YOU RESTART THE CAR AFTER HOURS OF SITTING, MY WIFE IS EXPECTING OUR SECOND CHILD AND ALSO DRIVE MY 5 YEAR OLD IN THIS VEHICLE, THIS CAR IS PIECE JUNK, GM NEEDS TO TAKE BACK PRIDE IN THERE CRAFTSMANSHIP STEP UP TO THE PLATE LIKE THERE CONSUMERS DID AND FIX THIS ?!@#$%! THEY NEED TO EXTEND THERE WARRANTIES BECAUSE THERE CARS DO NOT LAST AS THEY MISLEAD YOU TO BELIEVE!!! *TR
THE BACK HEATER HAS COMPLETELY FAILED. THE DEALERSHIP HAS TOLD US THAT THIS IS A RECURRING PROBLEM AND GM HAS ISSUED A SERVICE ADVISORY NOTICE. BUT THEY CAN NOT HELP US ON THE PROBLEM, NOW IT IS GOING TO COST US OVER 700 DOLLARS TO REPAIR THE PROBLEM, THEY SAID THAT THE MODULE, THE ACTUATOR AND THE HEATER DOORS HAVE FAILED. THEY HAVE TO REPLACE ALL THE PARTS AND IT WILL TAKE 4 DAYS TO FIX THE PROBLEM. *TR
MEMORY SEAT DOES NOT OPERATE PROPERLY. WHEN YOU USE FOB OR KEY TO ACCESS VEHICLE, SEATS, MIRRORS AND RADIO RANDOMLY CHOOSE THEIR OWN POSITIONS. *TR
THE SPEEDOMETER IN MY 2004 TAHOE HAS BEEN READING ERRATIC SPEEDS. THIS STARTED AT ABOUT 80,000 MILES, CALLED GM THEY SAID THEY WOULD REPLACE IF UNDER 70,000 MILES. NEED HELP! *TR
OWNER OF 2004 CHEVROLET TAHOE. THE SPEEDOMETER BEGAN TO ACT ERRATICLY RECENTLY AND BECAME COMPLETELY UNRELIABLE. AFTER CHECKING LOCAL GM DEALERSHIP, SERVICE PERSON SAID THAT SINCE THE CAR IS OUT OF WARRANTY, THE EXPENSE WOULD BE BETWEEN 500 TO 600 DOLLARS AND TAKE THREE TO FOUR DAYS TO REPAIR. THIS SEEMED DIFFICULT FOR ME TO BELIEVE, SO I PHONED ANOTHER GM DEALERSHIP, AND THEY SAID THAT THE REPAIR WOULD BE BETWEEN 400 TO 500 DOLLARS. THAT PARTICULAR DEALERSHIP SAID THEY COULD HAVE THE PART ORDERED AND AT THEIR LOCATION WITHIN 24 HOURS, AND IT WOULD ONLY TAKE AN HOUR TO INSTALL. I PHONED LOCAL PARTS STORES AND THEN BECAME AWARE TO THE HOST OF PROBLEMS RELATED TO GM SPEEDOMETERS BETWEEN THE YEARS OF 2003 AND 2004, AND THEY SAID THE ONLY PLACE TO PURCHASE THE INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER WAS THROUGH A GM DEALERSHIP, OR SALVAGE YARD. I COMPLETELY WROTE OFF THE SALVAGE YARD, AS HOW COULD I BE CERTAIN THAT THE SALVAGED PART WOULD NOT LIKEWISE BECOME UNRELIABLE. AS ANOTHER RESOURCE, I CHECKED THE INTERNET, AND TO MY SURPRISE, THERE WAS ROW AFTER ROW, AFTER ROW, OF CONSUMERS WHOSE GM PRODUCTS SIMILAR TO MINE HAD EXPERIENCED THE IDENTICAL PROBLEM WITH THEIR SPEEDOMETERS. AFTER READING SO MANY TESTIMONIALS OF DISAPPOINTED DRIVERS WHO WERE LIKE ME, THROWN INTO THE UNCERTAINTY OF HOW FAST OR SLOW THEY WERE GOING, I FELT COMPELLED TO WRITE TO YOU. EVERYONE IN OUR FAMILY IS AT RISK WHEN WE DRIVE OR RIDE IN THIS AUTOMOBILE, AND THE DEALERS' DISCREPANCY IN THE APPROACH TO REPAIR THE SPEEDOMETER LEAVES ME WANTING TO TRY ANOTHER REPUTABLE REPAIR SERVICE. I PHONED TWO OTHER GM DEALERSHIPS, TODAY, BUT THEY WERE CLOSED ON SATURDAY. THIS CERTAINLY MUST BE A PROBLEM THAT YOU HAVE BECOME AWARE OF OVER THE PAST SEVERAL MONTHS, AND I WOULD MUCH APPRECIATE YOUR ADVICE IN THE DIRECTION I SHOULD GO FROM HERE. MY SINCEREST GRATITUDE. MORE SO WHEN IT IS BELOW 40 F OUTSIDE, THE HORN WILL NOT WORK. THE KEYLESS REMOTE WILL WORK AND SOUND THE HORN. I NEVER KNOW WHEN IT WILL WORK OR FAIL. I HAVE SEEN A NHTSA ID # 10013378 (TSB #3300C) THAT SEEMS VERY SIMILAR TO WHAT I AM EXPERIENCING BUT I HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO FIND OUT DETAILS ABOUT IT. I HAVE SEARCHED ONLINE AND HAVE FOUND NUMEROUS SIMILAR ISSUES WITH OTHER GM PRODUCTS FROM 2002 TO 2005. I AM CONCERNED THAT WHEN I NEED TO USE THE HORN, IT WILL NOT WORK. *TR
MY SPEEDOMETER QUIT WORKING ALL OF A SUDDEN. *TR
MY 2004 TAHOE HAS AN ERRATIC SPEEDOMETER THAT IS CONSTANTLY INDICATING INCORRECT SPEEDS. I HAVE BEEN ON A HIGHWAY DOING APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH AND IT INDICATES ZERO. SOMETIMES IT HITS 20 MPH AND GETS STUCK REGARDLESS OF SPEED. *TR
THE SPEEDOMETER ON MY VEHICLE FAILED--RECEIVED NOTIFICATION FROM GM ABOUT A POSSIBILITY OF THIS TYPE OF FAILURE A WEEK EARLIER- THE FAILURE OCCURRED DURING MY COMMUTE(60+MI) WHILE USING CRUISE CONTROL--ALTHOUGH I DIDN'T HAVE A NEGATIVE EXPERIENCE, I BELIEVE THIS NEEDS TO BE HIGHLIGHTED AS A POTENTIAL. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 CHEVROLET TAHOE. THE SPEEDOMETER MALFUNCTIONED. WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS STOPPED, THE DIAL WOULD DISPLAY 30 MPH. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE CLUSTER NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. NO REPAIRS WERE MADE. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 111,000.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 CHEVROLET TAHOE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE REPAIR SHOP FOR REGULAR MAINTENANCE. THE GAUGE WAS CHECKED AND THE REPAIR SHOP REPLACED THE SENSOR BECAUSE IT WAS FAULTY. THE CONTACT RECEIVED A LETTER FROM GM STATING THAT THE VEHICLE COULD DEVELOP A FAILURE DUE TO THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE DIALS ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL COULD DISPLAY AN INACCURATE READING. THE LETTER FURTHER STATED THAT IF THE VEHICLE HAD LESS THAN 70,000 MILES, THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER WOULD BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE WAS OUTSIDE OF THE SPECIFIED MILEAGE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 64,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 72,526.
I OWN A 2004 CHEVROLET TAHOE THAT HAS HAD A MALFUNCTIONING SPEEDOMETER SINCE 65,000 MILES. I NOW HAVE 71,500 MILES ON THE VEHICLE. CHEVROLET HAS SENT OUT A "SPECIAL PROVISION BY GM" LETTER, NOT A RECALL THAT STATES THEY WILL FIX THE PROBLEM IF THE VEHICLE IS 7 YEAR OR 70,000 OLD. THAT IS NOT EVEN THE NATIONAL AVERAGE ON MILEAGE. THE CONTACT RECEIVED A LETTER FROM THE MANUFACTURER STATING THAT THE INSTRUMENT PANEL GAUGE MAY MALFUNCTION, RESULTING IN INCORRECT READINGS ON THE SPEEDOMETER. PRESENTLY, WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE FUEL GAUGE DIAL WILL SPORADICALLY DROP TO EMPTY AND THE VEHICLE WILL SHUT OFF. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE SPEEDOMETER MALFUNCTIONS AND DISPLAYS THE INCORRECT SPEED; HOWEVER, IT RESETS ITSELF AUTOMATICALLY WITHIN TWO TO THREE DAYS. THE DEALER STATED THAT THEY WERE NOT OBLIGATED TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE BECAUSE IT HAS EXCEEDED 70,000 MILES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 85,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 107,827.
MY 2004 CHEVROLET TAHOE HAS A SPEEDOMETER THAT IS NON-WORKING. I CONTACTED A CHEVROLET DEALERSHIP ABOUT REPAIR AND IT WILL COST $500.00. I CHECKED THE INTERNET AND FOUND MULTIPLE PARTIES WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. I AM REQUESTING THAT NHTSA REQUIRE CHEVROLET TO PLACE A RECALL ON THIS REPAIR WITH SO MANY REQUESTS OUT THERE. AS STATED BY OTHERS, THIS IS A VERY EXPENSIVE AUTOMOBILE AND WITH MANY OTHERS HAVING THIS SAME PROBLEM IT SHOULD BE TAKEN CARE OF BY CHEVROLET. *TR
THE SPEEDOMETER RANDOMLY MOVES FROM SAY 30 MPH TO 120 WHEN YOU HAVE NOT INCREASED YOUR SPEED. WHEN YOU STOP IT STAYS AT 120 UNTIL YOU RESTART THE VEHICLE THEN IT WILL ONLY COME DOWN MAYBE TO 80 WHEN YOU ARE STANDING STILL. I CALLED THE DEALER AND THEY WANT 600 DOLLARS TO FIX IT. I HAVE RESEARCHED THIS SITE AND OTHERS AND HAVE FOUND MANY PEOPLE WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. I BELIEVE CHEVROLET SHOULD TAKE CARE OF THIS PROBLEM BECAUSE IT IS AN OBVIOUS MANUFACTURING DEFECT AND COULD LEAD TO INJURY. *TR
SPEEDOMETER FAILURE. IT DOES NOT GIVE ACCURATE SPEED READINGS. AT REST, IT READS 20MPH AND ON THE HIGHWAY IT READS UP TO 120MPH ERRATICALLY. *TR
2004 CHEVROLET TAHOE Z71 4X4 MODEL. SPEEDOMETER IS MALFUNCTIONING AND CONSTANTLY READS OVER 100MPH. CAR ONLY HAS 30K MILES ON IT BUT, OF COURSE, THE WARRANTY JUST RAN OUT. *TR
I BOUGHT NEW A 2004 CHEVY TAHOE. IT IS KEPT GARAGED 99% OF ITS LIFE. ABOUT 2 YEARS AGO I STARTED SMELLING GASOLINE ON WINDLESS DAYS WHENEVER I WOULD EXIT THE CAR AFTER ANY TRIP. AT THE TIME IN 2006 I THOUGHT IT WAS ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE FOR THERE TO BE A GAS LINE THAT WAS RUSTED AND I THOUGHT THAT SOMEHOW A LINE MUST HAVE CRACKED. I WENT TO MY MECHANIC AND HAD HIM CHECK IT OUT. HE CALLED ME THE NEXT DAY AND TOLD ME THAT THE GASOLINE RIGHT WHERE THEY EXITED THE FUEL TANK WERE BADLY RUSTED AND THATS WHERE THE GAS WAS COMING FROM. HE BROUGHT ME INTO HIS SHOP AND WITH THE CAR UP IN THE AIR, HE WAS ABLE TO SHOW ME USING 2 MIRRORS BECAUSE IT WASN'T POSSIBLE TO SEE BY LOOKING UP AS TO HOW BADLY THE 3 LINES HAD RUSTED. AT THIS TIME THE CAR ONLY HAD ABOUT 12000 MILES ON IT. HE EXPLAINED TO ME THAT WHERE THE FUEL LINES CAME OUT OF THE TANK THAT IT WAS SHAPED LIKE A BOWL AND THAT EVEN IF I WAS JUST WASHING IT, THERE WOULD STILL BE A FAIRLY LARGE PUDDLE OF WATER THERE. THIS CAR WAS MY PRIDE AND JOY. I NEVER DROVE IT IN WET WEATHER AND I NEVER DROVE IT DURING THE WINTER. I WAS SHOCKED TO SEE HOW MUCH GAS WAS COMING OUT AND MY FIRST THOUGHTS WERE THAT ONE SPARK WITH ALL THOSE FUMES AND GAS AND I'D BE A DEAD MAN. I ALWAYS KEPT THE GAS TANK FULL, IT NEVER WENT BELOW 2/3 OF A TANK. MY MECHANIC TOLD ME THAT HE HAD REPAIRED 7 OR 8 OF THESE ON OTHER CHEVROLET LARGE SUV'S INCLUDING A COUPLE OTHER TAHOES A COUPLE SUBURBANS AND 2 OR 3 DENALI'S. HE TOLD ME THAT HE COULDN'T REMEMBER WHICH BUT HE WAS AWARE THAT THESE OTHER CARS WERE COVERED BY A RECALL BUT THAT FOR SOME REASON THE TAHOE WASN'T EVEN THOUGH THEY ALL HAD THE SAME GAS TANK. I SHOULD NOT HAVE PUT OFF WRITING THIS LETTER. AT ANY RATE IT COST ME 750.00 TO GET IT REPAIRED AND I'M JUST WAITING FOR IT TO HAPPEN AGAIN. THIS SEEMS VERY MUCH LIKE A DESIGN PROBLEM. I HAVE TO WONDER WHY THE TAHOE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN ANY RECALL AS THE ARE ALL THE SAME. *TR

2004 TAHOE, WHEN STARTING OUT ENGINE LOSES POWER AND READOUT DISPLAYS ( TRACTION ACTIVE ). FIRST TIME HAPPENED FALL 2007. DEALER COULD NOT FIND PROBLEM BUT DID A DOWNLOAD OF SOFTWARE, DID NOT HELP. OVER PAST MONTH DOES THIS ONE OR MORE TIMES DAILY. TOOK BACK TO DEALER AND THEY SAID NOT SURE WHAT TO DO, MAY HAVE TO DRIVE UNTIL IT WILL NO LONGER RUN BEFORE THEY KNOW WHAT TO FIX. THERE HAS BEEN A KNOCKING SOUND COMING FROM THE INTERMEDIATE STEERING SHAFT FROM MY 2004 TAHOE. THE SOUND HAS BEEN HAPPENING FOR OVER A YEAR LIKE WHEN I MAKE A SHARP TURN PARKING ETC. I KNOW OF THIS HAPPENING TO A FEW OF MY FRIENDS CHEVY TRUCKS FROM 02-06. ODD THAT IT HASN'T BEEN FIXED YET. *JB
ALL OF A SUDDEN THE SPEED ODOMETER JUMPS TO 90 AND WE WERE ALMOST STOPPED. THEN IT STAYED ON 0 FOR A WHILE WE WERE DRIVING, THEN JUST JUMPS AROUND. IT IS NEVER ACCURATE. CHECKED WITH DEALER AND THEY REPORTED TO US THAT THIS HAS BEEN A REAL PROBLEM WITH THIS MODEL OF VEHICLE. THEY SAID IT WAS THE GAGE CLUSTER GOING OUT AND THERE HAVE BEEN LOTS OF THEM RECENTLY COMING IN WITH THIS PROBLEM. AND THE REPAIR COST IS BETWEEN $450.00 - 500.00 . I FEEL THIS IS A MANUFACTURING MALFUNCTION AND THEY SHOULD REPAIR THESE VEHICLES FREE OF CHARGE TO VEHICLE OWNERS BECAUSE THIS IS UNSAFE AND IT SHOULD NOT BE MALFUNCTIONING LIKE THIS. 2004 TAHOE WITH WOBBLE IN THE STEERING MECHANISM. CUSTOMER STATES THE STEERING MECHANISM WOBBLED WHILE ON THE WAY TO FLORIDA. CUSTOMER HAD ANOTHER INCIDENT WITH THE FRONT DIFFERENTIAL AND CARRIER BEARINGS. *KB THE CONSUMER EXPERIENCED A WOBBLING IN THE STEERING MECHANISM AND THE CHEVROLET DEALER CORRECTED THE DEFECT IN JANUARY 07. THE CONSUMER STATED THAT HE HAD AN INSPECTION PERFORMED IN MAY 2007 AT THIELEN MOTORS WHICH ENTAILED A FRONT DIFFERENTIAL PINION, CARRIER BEARINGS, A RELATED DRIVE TRAIN ELEMENTS AND METAL SHAVINGS IN THE DIFFERENTIAL UNIT WHICH MEANS POSSIBLE DEFECT. THE CONSUMER STATED WOULD LIKE THE DEFECTS INVESTIGATED AND REIMBURSEMENT FOR THE REPAIRS PERFORMED ON THE VEHICLE. *TR

I HAVE A 2004 CHEVY TAHOE Z71. THE SPEEDOMETER RECENTLY QUIT WORKING. THE MILEAGE KEEPS ACCUMULATING BUT THE SPEED DOES NOT SHOW. I KNOW OF SEVERAL OTHER OWNERS WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. THIS WOULD SEEM TO BE A HUGE SAFETY CONCERN. THE CHEVY DEALER TELLS ME THE FIX IS ABOUT 200 DOLLARS AND THEY MUST KEEP THE CAR FOR UP TO A WEEK TO SEND THE MODULE BACK TO FACTORY. I CAN ASSUME MOST PEOPLE ARE LIKE ME AND CANNOT DO WITHOUT A CAR FOR A WEEK WHICH MAKES THIS AN ISSUE OF A LOT OF THESE MODELS ON THE ROAD WITHOUT ANY IDEA HOW FAST THEY ARE GOING. I TOOK MY VEHICLE TO CHEVY DEALERSHIP AND WAS INFORMED THAT THERE IS NO FIX OTHER THEN REPLACING THE ENTIRE CLUSTER PANEL. $800 TO REPLACE CLUSTER PANEL. THE DEALERSHIP WILL NOT REPLACE DEFECTIVE SPEEDOMETER FOR FREE. VEHICLE OUT OF WARRANTY. *TR
