I OWN A 2011 CHEVROLET TAHOE. MY DASH BEGAN TO CRACK COMPLETELY FROM ONE END TO THE OTHER. I CALLED THE DEALER TODAY, GEORGE CHEVROLET IN BELLFLOWER CA, AND I SPOKE WITH THE SERVICE MANAGER JOSE. OF COURSE MY TAHOE IS INCLUDED IN THE TAKATA RECALL AND NO PARTS FOR IT ARE AVAILABLE YET. I DID ASK HIM ABOUT THE RECALL AND THEN I EXPLAINED THE PROBLEM WITH MY DASH. IT IS SO BADLY CRACKED NOW IT SEEMS TO ME THAT THE AIRBAGS ARE NOT SECURE AT ALL AS THE CRACKS HAVE MADE THE ENTIRE DASH LOOSE. I WAS TOLD THERE WAS NO RECALL AND I AM NO LONGER UNDER WARRANTY SO NOTHING COULD BE DONE. I AM THE ORIGINAL OWNER OF THE TAHOE AND HAVE TAKEN EXCELLENT CARE OF THE VEHICLE SINCE I PURCHASED IT IN 2011. IT SEEMS TO ME THAT THERE ARE MANY COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS ISSUE SO I HOPE SOMEONE WILL REVIEW AND CONSIDER A RECALL. THE CRACKING BEGAN AT ABOUT 22K MILES. I AM UNABLE TO SELECT THE BUTTON BELOW, BUT PLEASE CONTACT ME ASAP IF THERE IS A RECALL.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT NOTIFIED REGARDING PART AVAILABILITY. I RECEIVED NOTICE ABOUT AIRBAG RECALL AND CALLED THE DEALER AND WAS TOLD THAT THERE WAS NO REMEDY FOR MY VEHICLE AT THIS TIME AND THERE IS NO KNOWN DATE FOR A REMEDY. I WAS TOLD TO WAIT UNTIL I RECEIVE ANOTHER NOTICE ABOUT THE AIRBAG RECALL FOR THIS ISSUE TO BE REMEDIED.

MY DASH BOARD . MY DASH BOARD HAS BEEN CRACKED FOR THE LAST YEAR I'M SCARED THE AIRBAG MIGHT POP . I SEE THE COMPLAINS ALL DAY ONLINE , I LOVE MY TAHOE BUT THAT DASH IS CRAZY TO HEAR CHEVY DOESN'T WANT REPLACE IT . IF ANY ONE KNOWS WHO'S I NEED TO CALL PLEASE REPLY .
THE UPPER PART OF THE DASH HAS SEVERAL CRACKS AROUND THE DEFROST OUTLETS AND AIRBAG COMPARTMENT
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 CHEVROLET TAHOE HYBRID. WHILE PERFORMING A TURN AT 10 MPH, THE VEHICLE EXPERIENCED A LOSS OF STEERING ABILITY AND IT REQUIRED MORE EFFORT TO OPERATE THE VEHICLE. IN ADDITION, THE SERVICE POWER STEERING WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT PULLED OVER, TURNED OFF THE VEHICLE, AND RESTARTED IT MANUALLY. THE VEHICLE BECAME OPERABLE, BUT THE AIR CONDITIONING FAILED TO OPERATE. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 130,000.
I RECEIVED A NOTICE TODAY STATING THAT THE AIRBAGS ON MY 2011 CHEVY TAHOE ARE DEFECTIVE AND NEED TO BE REPLACED. I UNDERSTAND REPLACEMENT OF THE DEFECTIVE BAGS WOULD BE AT NO COST TO ME. DEALERSHIPS DON'T HAVE THE AIRBAGS FOR REPLACEMENT DUE TO THE COMPANY TAKATA DOES NOT HAVE A RESOLUTION.
TAKATA RECALL: DEALERSHIPS WILL NOT TAKE ACTION AND FIX THE AIRBAG.
TAKATA RECALL. MY 2011 VEHICLE HAS BEEN IN THE VERY HIGH HUMIDITY OF CENTRAL FLORIDA ITS ENTIRE LIFE. NHTSA AND GM SAID THERE WOULD BE A DECISION BY AUGUST 2017. I CALLED MY CHEVROLET DEALER TODAY (10/19/2017) AND WAS TOLD THERE IS NO RECALL AND A REMEDY IS NOT YET AVAILABLE. I FEEL VERY VULNERABLE CONTINUING TO OPERATE THIS VEHICLE IN A VERY HOT AND HUMID ENVIRONMENT. WHEN ARE WE GOING TO GET A DECISION AND REMEDY?
TAKATA RECALL. MY 2011 CHEVROLET TAHOE NEEDS ITS AIRBAG TO BE REPLACED. MY DEALERSHIP "LYNCH CHEVROLET OF AUBURN, AL SAID THEY CANNOT REPLACE, THEY KNOW NOTHING ABOUT A REPLACEMENT AIRBAG FOR MY VEHICLE. NO HELP AT ALL EVEN THOUGH I BOUGHT IT FROM THEM.
TAKATA RECALL. AUTONATION CHEVROLET WILL NOT FIX MY AIRBAGS. THEY KEEP TELLING ME THAT THE PARTS ARE NOT IN. IT'S BEEN GOING ON BETWEEN 1-2 YRS NOW.
THE DASH HAS STARTED CRACKING. IF I WERE IN AN ACCIDENT I FEEL THAT THE DASH WOULD CRACK MORE AND THROW PIECES INTO THE FACE OF THE DRIVER AND OR PASSENGER.
THERE IS AN AIRBAG RECALL THAT CHEVY IS UNWILLING TO FIX. MY FAMILIES SAFETY IS AT RISK. PLEASE DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS!
DASH CRACKED IN MULTIPLE PLACES WITHOUT ANY FORCE NOR INTENTIONAL DAMAGE. A SUNSHADE HAS BEEN USED SINCE PURCHASING THE VEHICLE NEW; I AM THE ORIGINAL OWNER.
DASHBOARD IS CRACKED OVER THE AIRBAGS AND OVER THE GAUGES IN FRONT OF THE DRIVER. SERIOUS SAFETY HAZARD IF THE AIR BAGS WERE TO GO OFF AND SEND PLASTIC SHARDS FLYING. DASH WAS ALREADY CRACKED WHEN I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE AND IT'S SCHEDULED TO BE FIXED.
STABILITRAK AND ABS LIGHT COMES ON WHILE DRIVING, THE DOOR LOCKS GO CRAZY, RADIO GOES IN AND OUT AND YOU LOSE THE ABILITY TO ACCELERATE. ENGINE ACTS LIKE IT WANTS TO DIE OUT. THE FIRST TIME I HAD IT TAKEN IN, THEY SAID IT WAS A SENSOR SO I PAID $600 TO HAVE IT FIXED. 6 MONTHS LATER IT STARTED DOING THE SAME THING SO THE SAME SENSOR WAS REPLACED AGAIN. ONE MONTH LATER MY TAHOE IS DOING THE EXACT SAME THING AND NOW THE DEALERSHIP SAYS IT'S A SHORT. I DON'T THINK THEY KNOW WHAT'S GOING ON AND THEY ARE JUST TRYING DIFFERENT THINGS TO SEE IF IT WORKS, SO NOW I AM OUT OF POCKET OVER $1000 FOR THEM TO KEEP GUESSING WHAT GOING ON.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DASHBOARD WAS REPLACED A TOTAL OF THREE TIMES. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 46,905. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 CHEVROLET TAHOE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE PASSENGER SIDE DASHBOARD WAS CRACKED IN FOUR PLACES. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE LOCAL DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 130,403.
MY DASH SPLIT AROUND THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG AND ON THE DRIVERS SIDE ON THE 'HOOD' ABOVE THE GAUGES. IT'S RIDICULOUS HOW WIDE SPREAD OF A PROBLEM THIS IS ON THESE YEAR MODEL, YET CHEVROLET CHARGES $360 FOR THE REPLACEMENT PART.
MY DASHBOARD IS CRACKED IN TWO LOCATIONS. THE SPEAKER IN THE DASHBOARD HAS BEEN SERVICED ONCE BY THE DEALERSHIP AND IS THE ONLY TIME THE DASHBOARD HAS BEEN TOUCHED. NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE ON MY PART TO JEOPARDIZE THE INTEGRITY OF THE DASHBOARD. AN INTERNET SEARCH SHOWS THAT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM IN TAHOE'S. I HAVE RECEIVED NO REASONABLE EXPLANATION FOR THE DAMAGE ALONG WITH NO REASONABLE FIX ($1,500!!!!). I HAVE HAD MY VEHICLE SERVICED RELIGIOUSLY AT THE DEALERSHIP AND AT NO POINT WAS I MADE AWARE THAT THIS WAS OR COULD BECOME AN ISSUE. NOW THEY TELL ME TO FILE AN INSURANCE CLAIM!?!? DATE THIS OCCURRED IS UNKNOWN AND HAS BEEN ESTIMATED TO BEST OF MY RECOLLECTION.
TAKATA RECALL. THIS IS NO RESOLUTION AND IT EFFECTS THE RESALE VALUE AS WELL. I'M DRIVING A VEHICLE THAT IS DEEMED AS POSSIBLY UNSAFE AND GM HAS NO SOLUTION. I BELIEVE THERE SHOULD BE A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT FOR PUNITIVE DAMAGES. I HAVE TRIED TO TRADE MY VEHICLE AND THE DEALERSHIP HAS STATED THAT THEY CAN NOT RESELL MY VEHICLE.

THE DASH BOARD HAS SEVERAL CRACKS IN IT. WHEN ASKED A DEALER ABOUT IT THEY SAID THIS WAS VERY COMMON FOR CHEVYS. IT'S INTERESTING THAT THIS INFORMATION IS POSTED ALL OVER THE INTERNET, WHY WOULD CHEVROLET COMPROMISE CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. ALSO THE SIDE TRIM IS FALLING OFF
THE DASHBOARD HAS CRACKED FOR THE SECOND TIME SINCE 2011. IT WAS REPLACED BY GENERAL MOTORS AT ED MORSE SAWGRASS CHEVROLET IN SUNRISE, FL IN APRIL OF 2014 DUE TO A KNOWN PROBLEM WITH DEFECTIVE MATERIAL CAUSING THE DASHBOARDS TO CRACK OVER THE INSTRUMENT PANEL AND FRONT PASSENGER AIR BAG. NOW THE NEW DASHBOARD THAT WAS INSTALLED IN MY VEHICLE IN 2014 IS CRACKING IN THE SAME PLACE AS THE ORIGINAL DASHBOARD. I CONTACTED GENERAL MOTORS AND ED MORSE SAWGRASS CHEVROLET AND THEY HAVE ACKNOWLEDGED THE DEFECT, BUT REFUSE TO FIX THE PROBLEM STATING IT IS NOT A SAFETY HAZARD, WHICH IS NOT TRUE. WITH THE DASHBOARD CRACKING, IT IS CAUSING SHARP LOOSE PIECES OF PLASTIC THAT CAN IMPALE THE OCCUPANTS IN A SUDDEN STOP AND/OR COLLISION. THE PROBLEM IS NOT CAUSED DUE TO WEATHER EXPOSURE BECAUSE MY VEHICLE IS GARAGE KEPT WITH ONLY 48,000 MILES. THIS PROBLEM IS WIDESPREAD AND LAWSUITS ARE PENDING THROUGHOUT THE UNITED STATES DUE TO THE PROBLEM. A RECALL NEEDS TO BE ISSUED.
MY FRONT DASH BOARD CRACKED. IT WAS NOT MOVING. NOTHING HAS BEEN SET ON THE DASH. I NOTICED ONE AFTERNOON, THE FRONT CRACKED.
MULTIPLE CRACKS ACROSS THE DASHBOARD HAVE FORMED, IN SOME CASES COMPLETELY BISECTING THE DASHBOARD PIECES. I'M CONCERNED THAT IF THE AIRBAGS ARE DEPLOYED OR IN THE EVENT OF A CRASH THESE SHARP PIECES OF PLASTIC WILL BECOME PROJECTILES. I WAS JUST QUOTED A PRICE OF $1400 BY MY DEALER TO REPLACE THE DASH, BUT IT SEEMS THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM.
CAME OUT TO MY PARKED VEHICLE ON THE CITY STREET AND NOTICED THE DASHBOARD IS CRACKED UP. THERE ARE THREE CRACKS CAUSING AN EAR ACHING SQUEAKING. TWO OF THE CRACKS ARE OVER THE STAIRING WHEEL GOING TOWARD THE FRONT VENT AND THE OTHER CRACK IS ON THE DRIVER SIDE, LEFT HAND FRONT CORNER OF THE AIR BAG HATCH TOWARD THE FRONT VENT. WHEN THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION YOU HAVE TO TURN THE VOLUME UP ON THE RADIO TO TUNE OUT THE EAR DRUM PIERCING SQUEAK. THE CRACKS CAME ON A HOT SUMMER DAY, I BELIEVE THAT MIGHT HAVE CONTRIBUTED......

THE ENTIRE DASH IN MY 2011 CHEV TAHOE IS IN DISINTEGRATION. DURING THE LAST THREE MONTHS IT IS CRACKING INTO MANY PIECES. I UNDERSTAND THIS HAS BEEN A PROBLEM AND IS A PROBLEM FOR ALL OWNERS UNTIL 2016. WHAT IS GM DOING ABOUT THIS FACTORY DEFECT IN MATERIALS?? THIS IS AN ONGOING PROBLEM AND IS GETTING WORSE AND CRACKING ACROSS THE ENTIRE DASH. MY SON HAS SAME PROBLEM WITH HIS 2012 GMC YUKON. GM WANTED $2000.00 TO REPLACE DASH UNIT. THIS IS A MAJOR PROBLEM IF DASH COMES APART WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD.

IN ADDITION, THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THERE WAS AN ISSUE OBTAINING THE PARTS DUE TO THE BANKRUPTCY PROCESS OF TAKATA. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE AND WAS NOT ABLE TO CONFIRM WHEN THE PARTS WERE TO BECOME AVAILABLE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.

MY DASH BOARD HAS SPLIT FROM MY FRONT PASSENGER AIRBAG TO THE DEFROST VENT. DASHBOARD IS PULLING AWAY AND VIBRATES EXCESSIVELY. THERE WAS NOR ACCIDENT OR INCIDENT. I JUST HAPPENED TO NOTICE ONE DAY. THE DATE SELECTED IS JUST AN GUESS.
SPONTANEOUS WINDSHIELD CRACK, ORIGINATING FORM PASSENGER SIDE UPPER RIGHT CORNER TO CENTER OF WINDSHIELD; APPROX 8" LONG. CRACK IN DASH PERPENDICULAR TO PASSENGER AIRBAG AREA, APPROX 2" LONG. VEHICLE WAS PARKED IN COVERED GARAGE FOR 72 HOURS, DISCOVERED UPON NEXT USE.
DASHBOARD CRACKED WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY
MY STABILITY TRACK LIGHT WILL COME ON AND MY TAHOE WILL DECREASE IN SPEED WHEN THIS HAPPENS. THIS HAS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES IN THE PAST COUPLE OF MONTHS. MY DASHBOARD HAS A HUGE CRACK OVER THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER. IT MADE A LOUD POP SOUND WHEN IT SPLIT. THERE IS A RUBBING NOISE COMING FROM MY STEERING COLUMN WHEN I HAVE TO TURN A CORNER.
CRACKS APPEARING ON THE DASHBOARD. TAHOE IS GENTLY USED AND GARAGED. SEVERE VIBRATIONS OF THE DASHBOARD, WHEN DRIVING, IS CAUSING THE CRACKS. THE CENTRAL SPEAKER ON THE DASH ALSO VIBRATES.
CRACK ON DASH NEAR AIR BAG - THIS HAPPENED A FEW WEEKS AGO SO I STARTED DOING ONLINE RESEARCH ON THIS AND FOUND THIS IS A COMMON DEFECT WITH GMS DASHES. FOUND THIS FACEBOOK GROUP "07-13 GM CRACKED DASH SAFETY HAZARD FOR ALL TRUCKS" AND REALIZED SEVERAL PEOPLE ARE HAVING THIS ISSUE. I CALLED THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD IT'S A KNOWN PROBLEM, BUT NO RECALL HAS BEEN ISSUED YET. SHE TOLD ME IN THE MEANTIME TO MAKE SURE I KEEP A CAR SHADE ON WHEN IT'S OUTSIDE (WHICH I ALREADY DO). SHE ALSO SAID THERE IS A CHANCE I WILL SEE ADDITIONAL CRACKS OVER TIME. MY CONCERN IS IF THE AIR BAG WERE TO DEPLOY, WOULD THE CRACK CAUSE MY DASH OR PARTS OF IT TO SHATTER AND/OR MAKE THE AIRBAG LESS EFFECTIVE.
RECENTLY, I HAVE NOTICED A RATTLE COMING FROM THE DASH AREA. I NOTICED THERE WAS A CRACK IN THE DASH TO THE UPPER LEFT OF THE PASSENGER SIDE DASH AIRBAG. THERE'S ALSO ANOTHER PLACE ON THE DASH THAT HAS CRACKED AND CAUSES A LOUD RATTLING NOISE WHEN DRIVING. I CANNOT PINPOINT EXACTLY WHEN THE CRACKED HAPPENED. BUT, AFTER DOING SOME RESEARCH, I FOUND OUT THAT IT IS A VERY COMMON DEFECT IN CERTAIN GMC VEHICLES FOR YEARS 2007-2014. I PERSONALLY KNOW TWO PEOPLE THAT OWN GMC/CHEVY SUVS THAT HAVE THE SAME EXACT CRACK ON THE TOP AREA OF THE DASH. I AM MAINLY CONCERNED THAT IN THE EVENT MY AIRBAG DOES DEPLOY, THERE COULD BE SHRAPNEL BECAUSE OF THE LOCATION AND SEVERITY OF THE CRACK. ALSO, THERE IS NO WAY OF KNOWING IF THIS CRACK WOULD AT ALL INTERFERE WITH THE DEPLOYMENT OF THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG.
WE HAVE TRIED TO HAVE THE TAKATA AIRBAGS REPLACED BUT SO FAR NO LUCK, WE BOUGHT VEHICLE ABOUT 2 YEARS AGO, AND IT DOES NOT FEEL SAFE DRIVING IT LIKE THAT. NO PEACE OF MIND. ALSO CALLED THE DEALER, WE GOT THE SAME ANSWER.
GETTING BASEBALL EQUIPMENT OUT OF THE BACK OF MY VEHICLE, THE POWER LIFTGATE ROSE ALMOST TO THE TOP AND THEN STARTED TO AUTO CLOSE ON MY SON. THE FORCE COULD HAVE KILLED HIM IF SOMEONE WASN'T THERE. I'M A PHYSICALLY FIT MAN AND I HAD DIFFICULTY HOLDING UP THE LIFT GATE.

THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT NO RECALLS WERE ASSOCIATED WITH THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INVOLVED IN A CRASH. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE.
