MY 2014 CHEVROLET TAHOE HAS A 2 INCH CRACK IN THE DASHBOARD ON THE PASSENGER SIDE TTHAT STARTS AT THE TOP LEFT CORNER OF THE RECTANGULAR "CUT OUT" TO THE EDGE OF THAT PIECE OF THE DASHBOARD. I AM CONCERNED THAT THE EFFECTIVENESS OF THE AIR BAG IF THE CAR IS IMPACTED AND DO NOT TRUST GM'S ANALYSIS OF THIS QUESTION. FROM WHAT I AM READING ON THE INTERNET, THIS PROBLEM IS HAPPENING ALL TOO OFTEN AND NEEDS TO BE FIXED BY GM. THIS PROBLEM COULD ABSOLUTELY BE A SERIOUS, LIFE THREATENING ISSUE IN CASE OF AN ACCIDENT.
WHILE PARKED, THE DRIVER'S FEMALE SEAT BELT BUCKLE END (PART #19121538) FREQUENTLY DOES NOT LATCH. IT USUALLY TAKES MULTIPLE ATTEMPTS TO LATCH. I VISITED A DEALER ON 11/5/20, TO SEE WHAT THEY WOULD DO. THEY CONTACTED GM, WHO REFUSED TO MAKE ANY REMEDY, STATING IT WAS OUT OF WARRANTY, EVEN THOUGH THIS IS A SIGNIFICANT SAFETY ISSUE. VEHICLE HAS NEVER BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT AND THERE ARE NO VISIBLE SIGNS OF DAMAGE TO THE BUCKLE END. IT IS PROGRESSIVELY GETTING WORSE TO LATCH. ALSO. THE PARKING BRAKE FAILS TO PROPERLY SECURE THE VEHICLE, EVEN WHEN PUSHED TO THE FLOOR. PROBABLY A POOR DESIGN, EVEN WHEN ADJUSTED PROPERLY.
THE VEHICLE WAS ON MOTION SMOKE JUST STARTED COMING FROM EVERYWHERE. ALSO THE VEHICLE STATRED TO OVER HEAT. THE POLICE CAME AND HELP ME TO A SAFE AREA I WAS CRYING DONT NO WHATS WRONG. I DID SERVICE THE CAR TWO DAYS AGO, BUT THE DASH SAYS SERVICE ENGINE OIL. MY CAR ALSO SHAKES WHEN STOPPED ALSO VIBRATES WHEN YOU DRIVE OVER 70 MPH. MY SEAT BELT ON THE DRIVER SIDE WONT STAY IN. My dash is cracked in 3 places. One is around the passenger airbag. If the air bag is deployed it could send jagged edges into the face of a passenger. Very unsafe and GM just ignores the problem. I had a cracked dash with a Lexus and they replaced the dash no problem. Why won’t GM fix this problem?

THERE IS A DASHBOARD CRACK NEAR THE PASSENGER SIDE DASHBOARD AIRBAG COVER. THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE WITH THIS YEAR AND MODEL VEHICLE.
DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD, MY DASHBOARD CRACKED ON THE CORNER OF THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG. THE DASHBOARD WAS NOT STRUCK IN ANYWAY OR THE CAR DID NOT HIT A BUMP. I'M AFRAID OF THE CRACK BEING THERE BECAUSE IT IS SO CLOSE TO THE AIRBAG HOUSING.

THE MANUFACTURER AND DEALER (COVERT BUICK GMC 11750 RESEARCH BLVD, AUSTIN, TX 78759 (512) 583-3411) INDICATED THAT FURTHER TESTING WAS BEING DONE FOR MONTHS BY GM AND THEY HAD NOT YET PROVIDED A REMEDY AND PARTS TO SERVICE THE AIR BAG ISSUE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AGAIN TO DETERMINE WHEN THE VEHICLE WOULD RECEIVE THE RECALL REPAIR PARTS. THE CONTACT WAS NOT EXPERIENCING A FAILURE.
DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE (I-90 MT), ON CRUISE CONTROL, BRAKING FOR A CAR IN FRONT GOING SLOWER, FOUND THAT NO BRAKING OCCURRED, SUDDEN ACCELERATION TO 90 MPH, TRIED TO CHANGE GEARS, TURN OFF ENGINE, PUMP BRAKES WITHOUT RESULTS, THEN GLANCING BLOW TO VEHICLE IN FRONT, NO AIRBAGS DEPLOYED, BAILED OFF ROAD INTO BURROW PIT, EVENTUALLY SLOWED.
