TL*- THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE HAVING THE 2002 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER PARKED IN THE INCLINE DRIVEWAY WITH THE EMERGENCY BRAKE ENGAGED THE VEHICLE ROLLED FROM THE PARK POSITION AND CRASHED INTO THE HOUSE. THIS FAILURE HAPPENED TO THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE TWICE. THE FIRST TIME ON JANUARY 29, 2007 , AND THE SECOND TIME WAS ON MARCH 17, 2007. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER AND FELT THAT THE VEHICLE SHOULD BE COVER UNDER NHTSA RECALL CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 01V334000 FOR THE POWER TRAIN: TRANSFER CASE (4-WHEEL DRIVE), BUT THE DEALER STATED THAT THE VEHICLE DID NOT FALL UNDER THE RECALL. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGE WERE BOTH 40,000. *AK
FILLER NECK IS FRACTURED AT THE FUEL TANK
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2002 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. THE DASHBOARD PANEL ILLUMINATED INTERMITTENTLY. THE FAILURE PREVENTED THE DASHBOARD FROM DISPLAYING THE SPEEDOMETER AND TACHOMETER. OCCASIONALLY, THE TACHOMETER AND SPEEDOMETER DISPLAYED INCORRECT SPEEDS. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE VEHICLE NEEDED AN INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER, AND MENTIONED RECALL # 03V096000 FOR THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM: WIRING: INTERIOR/UNDER DASH. ALTHOUGH THIS VEHICLE WAS EXCLUDED FROM THE RECALL, THE CONTACT DID NOT FEEL OBLIGATED TO PAY FOR THE REPAIRS SINCE GENERAL MOTORS WAS AWARE OF THE RECALL. I OWN A 2002 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER LT. AT 56,000 MILES I HAD TO HAVE THE TRANSMISSION REBUILT. THEN ON MARCH 12 2007 I TOOK MY CAR INTO THE DEALERSHIP TO GET THE FOUR WHEEL DRIVE SWITCH FIXED BECAUSE IT WAS STUCK IN AUTO 4X4 AFTER SPENDING VERY CLOSE TO A $1,000. WE ARE NOW HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM AGAIN. FRONT WHEELS STUCK IN AWD WHILE THE REAR WHEELS ARE STUCK IN 2WD. *TR
TL*- THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING THE 2002 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER AT 60 MPH SHE SMELLED AMMONIA AND EVENTUALLY SHE SMELLED SMOKE. THE CONTACT STATED SHE DID NOT SEE SMOKE UNTIL SHE PULLED THE VEHICLE OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. THE CONTACT STATED APPROXIMATELY THREE MINUTES AFTER EXITING THE VEHICLE SHE SAW A FIRE UNDERNEATH THE STEERING WHEEL. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT INFORMED THE CONTACT THE CAUSE OF THE FIRE WAS AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM UNDERNEATH THE STEERING INSIDE THE DASH BOARD. THE VEHICLE WAS UNABLE TO BE DRIVEN. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2002 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. WHILE PARKED THE VEHICLE WAS DRIPPING GAS. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A LOCAL SHOP AND SEVERAL GAS LEAKS WERE DISCOVERED. THE DEALER WAS CALLED TO CHECK FOR ANY RECALLS ON THE VEHICLE, BUT THERE WERE NONE. THE MECHANIC DISASSEMBLED THE GAS TANK, AND FOUND THAT THE ELECTRIC FUEL PUMP MODULE WAS COMPLETELY CORRODED. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGE WERE 50857.*AK
I WAS PULLING A TRAILER WITH A 2002 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER AND IT SWITCHED INTO 4 LO ON ITS OWN CAUSING ME TO LOOSE CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. I HAVE HAD THIS PROBLEM WITH THE 4 WHEEL DRIVE FOR OVER A YEAR. I HAVE BEEN TURNED AWAY BY GM AND GM DEALERSHIPS WHEN I BROUGHT THE PROBLEM TO THEIR ATTENTION. *JB
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2002 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 70 MPH IN RAINY WEATHER, THE CONTACT DROVE OVER A PUDDLE OF WATER AND LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. SHE THEN ENGAGED THE BRAKES AND THE VEHICLE SWERVED ABNORMALLY. THE VEHICLE SPUN AROUND AND CRASHED INTO THE OUTER MEDIAN. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY AND THE CONTACT SUSTAINED A SHOULDER INJURY. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 152,000.
2002 CHEVY TRAIL BLAZER EXT ON 3/3/07 - WHILE DRIVING TRUCK ON HIGHWAY THE TRUCK STOPPED RUNNING. RESTARTED TRUCK AND PULLED OVER TO SIDE OF ROAD. TRUCK STOPPED RUNNING AGAIN. MY HUSBAND NOTICED THE OIL PRESSURE GAUGE WHICH INDICATED NO OIL PRESSURE. TRUCK WAS THEN TAKEN TO REPAIR SHOP. OUR MECHANIC STATED THAT IT NEED A NEW OIL PUMP, WHICH IS LOCATED IN THE ENGINE- THIS WAS TOO BIG A JOB FOR HIS STATION. MY HUSBAND CALLED GENERAL MOTORS, SPOKE TO THEIR REPRESENTATIVE, WHO STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NO LONGER UNDER WARRANTY AND IN ORDER FOR THEM TO DO COST SHARING WITH US THE VEHICLE WOULD NEED TO BE TAKEN TO A GM AUTHORIZED REPAIR DEALER. AFTER NUMEROUS ATTEMPTS TO CONTACT THAT SAME REP - WE WERE INFORMED BY THE CHEVY DEALER THAT WE NEEDED TO PAY FOR THE DIAGNOSTICS(635.00) OR THEY WOULD CHARGE US STORAGE FEES. STILL NO CONTACT FROM GM REP - OUR TRUCK IS STILL NOT FIXED AND STILL HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO GET RESPONSE FROM GM - OTHER ISSUES WITH THIS SAME TRUCK HAVE BEEN AT OUR EXPENSE: REPLACED REAR WINDOW MOTORS FOR WINDOW, AIR CONDITIONING COMPRESSOR, REAR TAIL LIGHTS (TWICE) DUE TO RECALL AND LIGHTS NOT WORKING - SEAT ADJUSTMENT SWITCHES PANEL (TWICE) NOW THIS EXPENSE WHICH WILL COST OVER 4372.00 IF NO OTHER DAMAGE WAS DONE TO TRUCK BY OIL PRESSURE NOT WORKING. *JB
A COUPLE MONTHS AGO MY RIGHT REAR BRAKE LIGHT WENT OUT. AND I REPLACED IT. THEN LAST WEEK MY TRUCK DID NOT START. AND I REALIZED I HAD A DEAD BATTERY, BUT NOTHING HAD BEEN LEFT ON. I THEN DISCOVERED MY LEFT REAR BRAKE LIGHT HAD BURNED OUT . NO SOONER BEFORE I COULD REPLACE IT MY RIGHT REAR , THE CENTER REAR AND THE LEFT REAR ALL STAY ON LIKE THE BRAKE IS APPLIED . THIS IS VERY UNSAFE TO OPERATE AND AM CONCERNED ON HOW I AM GOING TO GET THIS REPAIRED LET ALONE GET IT TO A AUTOMOTIVE SHOP. *JB
REAR HATCH AND GLASS GATE BINDING AND WON'T OPEN WITHOUT HITTING THE TOP BODY PANEL AND ROOF. THIS STARTED WAY BACK WHEN THE GLASS HATCH JUST POPS UP BY ITSELF WHILE DRIVING AND WE JUST STOP AND JUST CLOSE IT. WE REALLY DID NOT PAY MUCH ATTENTION TO IT EVEN IF IT KEEPS ON HAPPENING ONCE IN A WHILE, SO NOW THE HATCH WON'T OPEN AND I BROUGHT IT TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS ORIGINALLY BOUGHT,THEY SAID SOMETHING WAS DONE TO IT THAT'S WHY ,AND WHY IT TOOK SO LONG TO COMPLAIN AND WHY IT JUST APPEARED NOW , YES THE GLASS POPS OFF ONCE IN A WHILE SO IT DID NOT WARRANT TO WASTE MY TIME TO BRING IT TO THE DEALER, BUT NOW THAT IT BINDS IT NEEDS TO BE CORRECTED, EVERYTHING IN THERE IS STILL ORIGINAL AS I GOT IT FROM THE DEALER EVEN THE GLASS SECURITY ETCHING AND THEY STILL ACCUSES US OF PROBABLY SOMETHING WAS DONE TO IT. I ASSURE YOU THAT IT'S THE ORIGINAL AND NOTHING WAS DONE TO IT NOR ANY ACCIDENT TO IT. WHEN THEY REMOVED THE SCREWS I NOTICED THAT THE CLIPS HOLDING THE UPPER PLASTIC PANEL POPS OFF AND DOES NOT SEEM TO FIT AND BOWS OUT OF SHAPE , THE RIGHT SIDE PANEL WHERE ONE SCEW S IT TO HOLD THE PANEL POPPED, I NOTICED THAT THE 2 MAIN SUPPORTS HOLDING THE WHOLE LATCH/ GATE IS NOT LEVEL AND BOTH THE INNER SIDES SEEMS TO BE LOWER THAN THE OUTSIDE SO THE CLIPS WON'T CATCH, THEY CALLED FOR AUTHORIZATION FOR THE TOP PANEL BUT WAS DENIED, I THINK ITS THE MAIN ROOF SUPPORT HOLDING THIS WHOLE THING THAT'S BENT OUT OF SHAPE,ITS NOT STRONG ENOUGH TO HOLD THE HEAVY REAR GATE. NOW THEY WANT ME TO PAY $700+ TO REPAIR IT.*AK

I HAVE HAD TWO 2002 TRAILBLAZERS BOTH DEVELOPED GAS LEAKS FROM THE GAS TANK . GM DID NOT AGREE TO REPAIR EITHER ONE. *AK
TL* - THE CONTACT OWNS A 2002 CHEVROLET TRAIL BLAZER. THE AIR BAG LIGHT ILLUMINATED FOR 6 MONTHS. THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSIS THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WILL NOT ASSIST HER WITH THE FAILURE AND DIDN'T MENTION THAT THERE WAS AN EXISTING RECALL #02V222000: AIR BAGS:FRONTAL. THE LIGHT ILLUMINATED FOR 6 MONTHS. WHEN THE WEATHER WAS WARM THE LIGHT WAS NOT ON. HOWEVER, DURING THE COLD MONTHS IT ILLUMINATED. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGE WERE BOTH 105,000. *AK
I RECENTLY PURCHASED A 2002 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER, AND IT'S ABOUT 86,000 MILES ON IT. AT ABOUT 100,000 MY TRANSMISSION WENT. I DID SOME RESEARCH, AND FOUND OUT THAT THERE WERE MANY PEOPLE WHO OWNED THIS SAME VEHICLE WHO HAD THE SAME EXACT PROBLEM. I ALSO LEARNED THAT THIS PIECE THAT IS USED IN THE TRANSMISSION CALLED THE SUN SHIELD HAS BEEN THE PROBLEM FOR A LOT OF PEOPLE. THE TRANSMISSION SPECIALIST THAT FIXED MY VEHICLE TOLD ME THAT THIS SUN SHIELD IS A FAULTY, AND A LOT OF GM, AND CHEVY OWNERS HAVE PROBLEMS WITH IT. THERE IS A HUGE AMOUNT OF PEOPLE OUT THERE THAT ARE HAVING THIS SAME PROBLEM WITH THE SAME 2002 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER. I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY, AND SUDDENLY FELT THAT SOMETHING WAS WRONG. I AM JUST HAPPY THAT I PULLED OVER WHEN I DID, BECAUSE THERE WAS A LOT OF TRAFFIC THAT DAY. I WAS VERY SCARED, BECAUSE I WAS ALONE IN THIS CAR, AND ALSO I DID NOT WANT TO BE HIT FROM BEHIND WHEN I WAS PULLING OVER TO THE SHOULDER OF THE HIGHWAY. I CALLED THE GM DEALER, AND THEY SAID THAT THEY COULD DO NOTHING FOR ME. EVEN WHEN I EXPLAINED TO THEM WHAT HAD HAPPENDED, AND THAT THIS HAD HAPPENED TO A LOT OF OTHER PEOPLE. I WAS TOLD THAT MY CAR WAS NOT UNDER WARRANTY, AND THIS WAS NOT ONE OF THE MANY RECALLS THAT THIS TRUCK HAS. I THEN HAD TO FIX THIS TRUCK MYSELF, AND IT COST ME 2,300. THE SUN SHIELD WAS REPLACED BY SOMETHING CALLED THE BEAST WHICH I WAS TOLD WOULD BE VERY VERY DURABLE UNLIKE THE GM SUN SHIELD PART. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2002 CHEVROLET TRAIL BLAZER. WHILE DRIVING 10 MPH INCLUDING MAKING LEFT AND RIGHT TURNS THE 4 WHEEL DRIVE ENGAGED AND BECAME DIFFICULT TO STEER THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO ACCELERATE AND WAS UNABLE TO DUE TO THE 4 WHEEL DRIVE. THE WARNING INDICATOR 4 WHEEL DRIVE LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED AND REMAINED ON UNTIL THE ENGINE WAS TURNED OFF. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGE WERE 57,610.
I LIVE IN SOUTHWEST OHIO AND I OWN A 2002 TRAILBLAZER. I NOTICED THAT IN DECEMBER OF 2006, MY REAR WINDSHIELD WIPER WOULD NOT FUNCTION WHEN TURNED ON. SHORTLY THEREAFTER, WE HAD OUR FIRST FROST AND I NOTICED THAT THE REAR DEFOGGER/DEFROSTER WAS NOT WORKING. IT IS NOW NEARLY 0 DEGREES OUTSIDE AND EVEN IF I CLEAN THE WINDOW WITH A SCRAPER, IT STILL FROSTS UP WHILE DRIVING. I HAVE LOOKED FOR A FUSE TO REPLACE, BUT FIND NONE FOR THE REAR DEFROST, AND THE ONE FOR THE REAR WIPER IS FINE. JUST YESTERDAY, I PICKED UP SOME LARGE ITEMS AT A HOME IMPROVEMENT STORE AND WAS UNABLE TO UNLOCK THE REAR GATE, I TRIED TO USE THE BUTTON ON MY REMOTE, TO WHICH THE CAR NO LONGER RESPONDS, EVEN WITH NEW BATTERY, I TRIED TO UNLOCK IT FROM THE DRIVER SIDE CONTROLS WITH THE CAR OFF AND TURNED ON, BUT NOTHING HAPPENED. SO THERE ME AND MY PREGNANT WIFE WERE STANDING IN ZERO TEMPERATURE WEATHER WITH THREE LARGE ITEMS ON A CART AND NOWHERE TO GO WITH THEM. WE ENDED UP PAYING SOMEBODY TO HAUL THEM TO OUR HOUSE. *NM
2002 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER WITH PROBLEMS WITH CAR RADIO CUSTOMER WANTS REIMBURSEMENT FOR REPAIRS**CC SOME TYPE OF ELECTRICAL PROBLEM CAUSED A LOUD POP TO COME THROUGH THE SPEAKERS. THE CAUSED THE RADIO TO SHORT OUT AND THE SPEAKERS TO BLOW. THE RADIO AND SPEAKERS HAD BEEN REPLACED SEVERAL TIMES. THE AMPLIFIER ALSO HAD TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN TAKEN TO THE DEALER ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS BUT THEY HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM. THE MIDDLE SEAT BELT IN THE SECOND ROW LOCKED UP AS SOON AS IT WAS FASTENED INTO THE BUCKLE. WHEN THE DEFROSTER WAS USED THE CONSUMER HEARD A CLICKING NOISE. THE DEALER REPLACED THE MODE ACTUATOR AND MODE VALVE PER TSB 04-01-38-002. THE QUARTER PANEL ON THE ROOF SEAM SEALER CRACKED AND WAS RUSTED. THE PULL DOWN STRAP ON THE REAR HATCH BROKE. THE SWAY BAR BROKE. A GRINDING NOISE WAS HEARD COMING FROM THE LEFT FRONT WHEEL WHEN MAKING SHARP LEFT TURN. THE DEALER DETERMINED THAT SUSPENSION WAS MISALIGNED AND CAUSED SHIELD TO TOUCH ROTOR. THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER GAUGE WAS INOPERATIVE. THE REAR WIPER DID NOT TOUCH THE REAR WINDSHIELD. THERE WAS A HIGH PITCHED NOISE COMING FROM THE RIGHT SIDE TIRE WHENEVER IN MOTION. THE DEALER INDICATED IT WAS IMPROPERLY SEALED. *NM
THIS WILL BE THE THIRD TIME I HAVE HAD MY TRAILBLAZER TO THE DEALER FOR THE SAME PROBLEM. WHEN DRIVING, THE CAR WILL SHIFT ITSELF BETWEEN 2HI AND 4 HI. ALSO, AFTER UTILIZING THE SELECTOR ON TWO OCCASIONS THE CAR GOT STUCK IN NEUTRAL AND HAD TO BE TOWED. AFTER BEING TREATED LIKE AN IGNORANT WOMAN WHO DOESN'T KNOW HOW TO OPERATE THE CONTROLS I AM FINALLY CHANGING DEALERS. MAYBE THEY SHOULD READ THIS AND SEE THAT APPARENTLY I AM NOT THE ONLY PERSON HAVING THESE PROBLEMS. *JB
WE BOUGHT THE VEHICLE IN 2004-2005, ABOUT A YEAR LATER THE INSTRUMENT PANEL STARTED HAVING SOME INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS, THAT'S WHEN WE FOUND OUT ABOUT THE RECALLS. WE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE LOCAL DEALER (AIRPORT CHEVROLET) WHERE THE REPAIRS WERE MADE. ABOUT A YEAR LATER THE INSTRUMENT PANEL STARTED HAVING THE SAME PROBLEMS, I TOOK IT BACK INTO THE DEALER, THEY SAID IT WOULD COST ME ABOUT $500 TO HAVE IT FIXED AND IT WOULD NOT BE COVERED UNDER THE RECALL. I CONTACTED CHEVY BY EMAIL, AND AFTER A COUPLE OF MONTHS OF EMAILING BACK AND FORTH THEY SAID "THEY HAVE TO DRAW THE LINE ON AGE AND MILEAGE FOR THE RECALL". I TOLD THEM I WAS GOING TO CONTACT MY ATTORNEY, THEY SAID THEY DID NOT WANT TO HEAR ANYTHING MORE ABOUT IT AND NOT TO EMAIL AGAIN. SINCE THEN WE HAVE DRIVEN THE VEHICLE, THE MORE WE DRIVE IT, THE MORE SOMETHING ELSE, ELECTRICAL, GOES WRONG. I.E. THE REAR WIPER DOES NOT WORK, THE COOLING/HEATING FAN DOES NOT WORK, THE RADIO/CD PLAYER GETS REALLY HOT, THE LAST THING THAT HAPPENED WAS THE BATTERY GOT FRIED AND MY CELL PHONE WHILE PLUGGED INTO THE CIG LITER FOR RECHARGE ALMOST GOT FRIED, ALMOST TOO HOT TO TOUCH. SO I AM PAYING MONTHLY PAYMENTS FOR A VEHICLE I CAN NOT DRIVE. *TR
SERVICE 4WD LIGHT CAME ON AFTER NUMEROUS ATTEMPTS TO CHANGE THE TRANSFER CASE FROM AWD TO 4WD. DEALER TELLING ME THAT ITS A MOTOR SENSOR THAT ENCODES THE TRANSFER TO SHIFT. THIS IS THE SECOND REPAIR ON THE SAME PART. I WOULD LIKE THIS PART RECALLED AND TO BE REIMBURSED MONEY FOR REPAIRING IT MYSELF. *NM
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2002 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. ON JANUARY 17, 2007, THE CONTACT HEARD A LOUD BOOM AND THE TRANSMISSION FAILED WHILE DRIVING 10 MPH. HE THEN COASTED THE VEHICLE AT 5 MPH TO THE NEAREST SHOP. THE MECHANIC STATED THAT THE ACTUATOR FELL FROM THE TRANSMISSION AND THE ENTIRE TRANSMISSION FAILED. THE CONTACT WAS ALSO INFORMED THAT ALL FOUR TIRES WERE ROTTED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE ENGINE SIZE WAS UNKNOWN. THE CURRENT MILEAGE IS 28,000 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 22,900. THE CONSUMER STATED WANTS TO GM TO PAY THE COST OF REPAIRS FOR THE DEFECTS IN THE VEHICLE, HOWEVER CONSUMER IS STATING NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR DEFECT THE PART PROVIDED IS NOT THE SAME PART STATED IN THE RECALL. I BACKED OF THE GARAGE AND HEARD A LOUD NOISE. AS I PULLED FORWARD THE TRUCK MOVED VERY SLOWLY FOR HOW FAR THE GAS PEDAL WAS PUSHED. I WENT TO GO IN REVERSE AGAIN BUT THE TRUCK WOULD NOT GO INTO REVERSE AND COULD HEAR A LOUD WHINING FROM THE MOTOR. I THIS JUST HAPPENED TO DAY BUT I FIGURE IT'S THE TRANSMISSION. ALSO, WHEN I BOUGHT THE TRUCK I HAD PROBLEMS WITH THE TEMP. SENSOR AND THE AIR CONDITIONING THE DEALER TOOK CARE OF THE PROBLEM WITH THE AIR BUT THE OUTSIDE TEMP. SENSOR IS STILL BROKE. I DON'T KNOW WHICH IS WORSE THE FAILURE OF THE TRANSMISSION OR, SEEING ALL THE LIKE COMPLAINTS ON THIS SITE WITH NO ACTION. *JB
MY WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR SEEMS TO STALL CAUSING INTERRUPTED OPERATION. THIS WAS THE SUBJECT OF A RECALL IN 2004 AND I HAD THE VEHICLE SERVICED AT THAT TIME IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE RECALL. BUT THE PROBLEM SEEMS TO HAVE OCCURRED AGAIN. *NM
2002 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER, SLIPS OUT OF GEAR, 1,2,3,4. AND SLAMS BACK WHILE IN OPERATION. CONSULTED DEALER, DEALER SAID NO RECALLS AVAILABLE. THIS HAPPENED 3X'S. WE STOPPED DRIVING VEHICLE. ON SECOND INCIDENT A QUALIFIED INDIVIDUAL SAID THAT THERE ARE ISSUES IN THE TRANSMISSION. DEALER STILL SAID NO BULLETINS ON THIS VEHICLE AT LARGE. DEALER STATED THAT I TAKE THE VEHICLE TO THE VENDOR IN WHICH THEY DO BUSINESS WITH FOR INSPECTION. VENDOR WHO IS REPAIRING VEHICLE CLAIMS A CLIP OR SPRING SLIPPED OUT SOMEWHERE DESTROYED COME MAJOR PARTS AND ALSO THE CASING. I HAVE ASKED VENDOR TO HOLD ALL PARTS. SO FAR THIS EPISODE IS VERY COSTLY. *JB
TRANSMISSION SLIPS OUT OF GEAR WHILE IN OPERATION IN ALL GEARS. ON PREVIOUS COMPLAINT I STATED THAT REPAIR WAS COSTLY. AT THIS POINT TECH. SAYS THAT SMALL "O" RING CLIP DID $2,000.00 IN DAMAGE TO SUN GEAR,SHELL, AND MAJOR DRIVE GEARS AND CASING AS WELL. THIS VEHICLE ONLY HAS 51K MI. ON IT. WE BELIEVE THERE WAS A SITUATION OF DEFECTIVE THIS VEHICLE WAS SOLD AS A CERTIFIED USED AT TOP DOLLAR. PARTS ACCORDING TO THE TECH. *JB

THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. I TOOK THE 2002 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER TO THE DEALER, WHO DETERMINED THE GAS TANK LEAKED FROM THE TOP OF THE TANK WHERE THE GAS ENTERED. THERE WAS NO WAY THIS COULD OCCUR FROM WEAR AND TEAR. THIS WAS A DEFECT IN THE WORKMANSHIP, PRODUCT LIABILITY. IT WILL COST APPROXIMATELY $800 FOR REPAIRS.*AK
IT ALL STARTED AROUND 40,000 MILES I HAVE HAD ALL INTERIOR PROBLEMS. I HAVE ONE SPEAKER IN MY CAR THAT WORKS, SOMETIMES IF I AM LUCKY THEY ALL WILL COME ONE BUT NOT. I HAVE A LIGHT BEHIND MY TEMP. CONTROL THAT COMES ON AND OFF WHEN IT WANT TO, AND NOW OF ALL MY HEAD LIGHTS AND DAY LAMPS WORK WHEN THEY WANT TO. I WAS TOLD THAT THE CAR HAS FAULTY WIRES (AS IF) AND I BOUGHT THIS CAR FOR WHAT TO BUY ANOTHER CAR IN AFTER FOUR YEARS (NO). THEY SAY YOU PAY FOR WHAT YOU GET WELL I HAVE PUT MORE INTO IT THAN WHAT I HAVE GOT (HEAD PAIN)! I ALMOST GOT HIT NOT KNOWING I HAD NO LIGHTS. AND GOT PULLED OVER ONCE! NOW I HAVE TO PAY TO HAVE MY CAR INSPECTED TO FIND THE WIRE DEFECT AND THEN GET IT FIXED (THE CAR IS NOT WORTH IT). *NM
ABOUT 1 MONTH AGO WE STARTED SMELLING GAS FUMES AND THAN WE STARTED TO NOTICE GAS WAS LEAKING FROM OUR TANK ONTO THE GROUND. WHEN WE BROUGHT IT INTO THE MECHANIC THEY TOLD US WE HAD A LEAK IN THE FUEL TANK. OUR CAR IS A 2002 TRAILBLAZER LTZ AND IT JUST HIT 52,000 MILES. IT HAS BEEN GARAGE KEPT THE ENTIRE TIME. WHEN WE CONTACT THE DEALER WE BOUGHT IT FROM THEY SAID IT WAS NO LONGER UNDER WARRENTY AND THERE WAS NOT TSB'S OUT. AFTER SOME RESEARCH I FOUND THE TSB THAT WAS PUT OUT FOR THIS DEFECT. 2002 TRAILBLAZER TRANSMISSION HAS FAILED TWICE . FIRST FAILURE WAS AT 38,000 MILES AND SECOND FAILURE IS AT 83000 MILES. THE FAILURES HAPPENED BOTH TIMES AT THE EXACT SAME LOCATION AS I WAS ENTERING A MAJOR HIGHWAY FROM A STOP SIGN. PURCHASED A NEW TRANSMISSION AT 38,000 MILES COSTING OVER $1300 DOLLARS TO GET A NEW TRANSMISSION VS. A REBUILT ONE. I BELIEVE GM KNOW THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THIS VEHICLE HOWEVER , FAIL TO FIX THE PROBLEM. AT 70000 MILES BOTH REPAIRS ARE NEEDED AGAIN ALONG WITH OTHERS- SWAY BAR WORN, SHORT IN HEADLIGHTS (PREVIOUSLY REPAIRED), INTERIOR LIGHTS SHORTING. DEALERSHIP QUOTED AROUND $3000 TO FIX EVERYTHING. I OWN A 2002 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER AND RECENTLY EXPERIENCED LOUD, ROARING NOISE FROM ENGINE COUPLED WITH REDUCED POWER AND VERY POOR GAS MILEAGE. I ULTIMATELY PURCHASED THE PART ONLINE AND HAD IT INSTALLED BY A LOCAL MECHANIC AND SAVED MYSELF AROUND $260. VEHICLE RUNS FINE NOW. I CANNOT BELIEVE GM HAS NOT ISSUED A RECALL FOR THIS ISSUE. TRANSMISSION FAILED IN 2002 TRAILBLAZER ON 12/21 WITH 93,000 MILES WHILE TRAVELING WITH FAMILY ON CHRISTMAS WEEKEND. LEFT STRANDED ON HIGHWAY AND HAD TO BE TOWED. WILL NOT GO IN REVERSE AND WILL NOT GO INTO SECOND GEAR. MECHANIC SAID GM PARTS ARE INFERIOR AND HE WILL REPLACE WITH AFTERMARKET WHICH WILL BE MUCH BETTER. TRANSMISSION SHOULD LAST MUCH LONGER THAN THIS. I HAVE HAD VEHICLE WITH 250,000 MILES ON THE ODOMETER AND NOT HAD TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS. THE VEHICLE WAS INSPECTED BY AN INDEPENDENT REPAIR SHOP, WHO PERFORMED A DIAGNOSTIC TEST WHICH PRODUCED A FAILURE CODE FOR THE AIRBAG SENSOR. THERE WAS A NHTSA RECALL, # 02V222000, REGARDING THE AIR BAGS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL DUE TO THE VIN. THE DEALER WAS ALERTED, AND THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. SINCE PURCHASING THIS VEHICLE I HAVE SPENT QUITE A FEW DOLLARS IN REPLACING LOW-BEAM HEADLIGHT BULBS. I NOTICE THE LIGHTS ARE OCCASIONALLY FLICKERING AND FREQUENTLY BURN OUT BULBS. I CONSTANTLY HAVE TO DRIVE AT NIGHT WITHOUT LOW-BEAMS, HAVING TO USE MY HIGH-BEAMS WHICH IS ANNOYING TO OTHER DRIVERS AND COULD CAUSE AN ACCIDENT.
