THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE WHO FILED A REPORT AND OFFERED NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE TO THE CONTACT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 186,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2002 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FOUR WHEEL DRIVE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL AS THE FOUR WHEEL DRIVE FAILED. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER AND WAS TOLD THAT THE TRANSFER CASE CONTROL MODULE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT SPOKE WITH THE MANUFACTURER IN REFERENCE TO NHTSA RECALL CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 01V334000 (POWER TRAIN: TRANSFER CASE: 4-WHEEL DRIVE), BUT WAS TOLD THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNAVAILABLE AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 90,000.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2002 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER EQUIPPED WITH CAPITOL PRECISION TRAC II TIRES, SIZE: 245/65R17. WHILE DRIVING AT 70 MPH, THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE TIRE EXPERIENCED A BLOW OUT. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE TIRES WERE REPLACEMENT TIRES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER AND THE TIRE WAS REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE TIRE AND VEHICLE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 2,000. THE VIN AND DOT NUMBERS WERE NOT AVAILABLE.

THE REAR BRAKE THIRD LIGHT MOLDING THEN FLEW OFF THE VEHICLE AND CAUSED THE BRAKE LIGHT TO FAIL. THE INTERIOR LIGHT WIRES WERE ALSO EXPOSED AND FAILED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE BUT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 183,624.
AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION SUNSHELL FAILED, DRIVING AND THE TRUCK DIDN'T GO INTO GEAR. WHEN YOU STAND BY SUV YOU SMELL GAS FUMES BAD. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2002 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 15 MPH, THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT AND PASSENGER SUSTAINED BRUISES AND MINOR CONTUSIONS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHO WAS UNABLE TO DETERMINE WHY THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED ERRONEOUSLY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE WHO SENT AN ENGINEER TO INSPECT THE VEHICLE AND THEN OFFERED TO BUY THE VEHICLE BACK. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 140,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2002 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE VIOLENTLY JERKED WHILE CHANGING GEARS. IN ADDITION, THERE WOULD BE AN INCREASE IN THE ENGINE RPMS WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE VEHICLE ROLLED BACKWARD TWO AND A HALF FEET AFTER BEING PARKED. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN INSPECTED AND HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER HAD NOT BEEN NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 86,000.
DRIVING HOME PARKED TRAILBLAZER IN DRIVEWAY, WENT INTO HOUSE AND HEARD A LOUD "BOOM" SOUND, THEN WENT OUTSIDE TO SEE WHAT THE SOUND WAS AND SEEN SMOKE COMING FROM UNDER THE TRAILBLAZER HOOD, THEN LIFTED HOOD AND SEEN FIRE AND SMOKE, THEN RAN TO GET THE FIRE EXTINGUISHER TO PUT THE FIRE OUT, AND CALLED THE FIRE DEPARTMENT, NOTICED THE TRANSMISSION DIPSTICK WAS OUT ABOUT A FOOT AND THERE WAS TRANS FLUID ALL OVER THE UNDER SIDE OF HOOD, MOTOR, AND THE GROUND. ANYTIME THE WIPERS ARE SET ON INTERMITTENT, THEY COMPLETELY STOP AT ANY GIVEN TIME. YOU CAN BE DRIVING ALONG AND THE WIPERS WILL JUST STOP WITH THE BLADES POSITIONED PERPENDICULAR TO THE BASE OF THE WINDSHIELD. THE WIPERS SOMETIMES RESUME WITHIN A FEW SECONDS OR THERE IS UP TO A SEVERAL SECOND DELAY. I HAVE TO MOVE THE STALK TO LOW OR HIGH TO GET THE WIPERS TO MOVE AGAIN. I WOULDN'T NORMALLY COMPLAIN BECAUSE OF THE AGE OF THE VEHICLE, BUT IT WAS RECALLED FOR WIPER PROBLEMS IN ITS INFANCY DUE TO WATER GETTING ONTO THE CIRCUIT BOARD. I CAN ONLY ASSUME THE FIX DID NOT KEEP THE WATER OUT AND THE CIRCUIT BOARD WAS DAMAGED. *TR
HEAVY GAS FUMES IN AND AROUND THE VEHICLE. THIS HAPPENS RANDOMLY. I HAVE TO AIR OUT THE VEHICLE BEFORE I CAN DRIVE IT. *TT
I HAD TO REPLACE ALL MY TRANSMISSION COOLER LINES DUE TO THE LINES BEING CORRODED AND LEAKING. THESE WERE THE ONLY LINES THAT WERE CORRODED OR SHOWED SIGNS OF CORROSION. THERE IS NO REASON THIS SHOULD HAPPEN TO ALMOST EVERY GMT360. THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL. *TR
THE WIPERS SHUT OFF BY THEMSELVES, OR WON'T TURN ON, AND SOMETIMES THEY TURN ON BY THEMSELVES WHILE DRIVING. THIS IS AN ONGOING ISSUE WITH THESE VEHICLES. *TR
I HAVE HAD MULTIPLE ISSUES WITH MY 2002 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER WHERE THE 4X4 SELECTOR SWITCH WILL NOT WORK, OR WHILE DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS THE VEHICLE WILL BE PUT INTO FOUR WHEEL DRIVE WHILE THE SELECTOR SWITCH IS STILL TURNED ON TWO WHEEL DRIVE. THE SELECTOR SWITCH AT TIMES HAS NOT WORKED WHEN I WANTED TO MAKE THE VEHICLE GO INTO FOUR WHEEL DRIVE. I HAVE FOUND OUT THE VEHICLE IS IN FOUR WHEEL DRIVE BY HAVING A HARD TIME TURNING THE FRONT WHEELS AND SEEING THE FRONT TIRES SPIN ON LOOSE GRAVEL EVEN THOUGH I NEVER SWITCHED THE VEHICLE INTO FOUR WHEEL DRIVE AND THE SELECTOR SWITCH STATES IT'S STILL IN TWO WHEEL DRIVE BUT THE YELLOW LIGHT IS LIT UP THAT IT'S IN FOUR WHEEL DRIVE. I HAVE COMPLAINED MULTIPLE TIMES TO GM AND HAVE HAD THE SELECTOR SWITCH REPLACED 3 TIMES BUT IT STILL CONTINUES TO HAPPEN. EVERYTIME THAT GM LOOKS AT IT THEY SAY THAT IT IS WORKING JUST FINE. I HAVE SEEN AND HEARD THAT MANY OTHER PEOPLE ARE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEMS WITH THIS. I FEEL THERE SHOULD BE A SAFETY RECALL PUT OUT FOR THIS DRIVE SELECTOR SWITCH. *TR
LATELY, AND INTERMITTENTLY, WHEN THE GAS TANK IS 1/2 FULL OR LESS AND A SHARP TURN IS MADE, THE GAS GAUGE GOES TO E, THE LOW GAS LIGHT COMES ON AND THE CAR WILL NOT GO MORE THAN 20 MPH AS IF IT IS LOSING POWER. IT'S MOST SCARY WHEN IT OCCURS MAKING A TURN ONTO FREEWAY ENTRANCE RAMP AND I AM TRYING TO GET POWER TO ENTER MOVING TRAFFIC. TYPICALLY, I HAVE TO PULL OVER, TURN THE CAR OFF AND RESTART TO GET THE CAR TO RUN NORMAL. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2002 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD SHIFT AUTOMATICALLY WITHOUT ACTIVATION OR WARNING AND AT ANY SPEED. IN ADDITION, THE CONTACT WOULD HEAR A GRINDING NOISE WHEN THE FAILURE OCCURRED. THE DEALER MADE TWO ATTEMPTS TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE BUT TO NO AVAIL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 104,370 AND THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 102,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
WHEN I FIRST PURCHASED THE VEHICLE A COUPLE DAYS LATER I NOTICED THE STEERING COLUMNS ABILITY TO TURN WAS VERY HARD AND MAKING LOUD NOISES. I FOUGHT CONTINUOUSLY WITH THE DEALERSHIP TO FIX THE ISSUE AND FINALLY AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS THEY AGREED TO FIX IT. THEN 2 MONTHS LATER WERE DRIVING MY SON TO THE AIRPORT AND THE CAR STOPPED AND BEGAN TO SMOKE, COME TO FIND OUT THE RADIATOR HAD A HOLE IN IT AND THERE WAS SOME TYPE OF TEMPORARY STOP LEAK STUFF PUT IN IT TO ALLOW A CONSUMER TO DRIVE FOR A SHORT AMOUNT OF TIME BEFORE THE PROBLEM WOULD ARISE AGAIN. SO NOW MY FAMILY AND I ARE OUT OF TRANSPORTATION AND IM STILL PAYING A CAR NOTE ON THIS VEHICLE, I FEEL TOTALLY TAKEN ADVANTAGE OF AND WONDER HOW ANY DEALER CAN GO TO SLEEP AT NIGHT KNOWING THEY'VE BEEN DECEPTIVE IN THE SELLING OF A VEHICLE TO A FAMILY. THE TRUCK IS MY CHILDREN AND I ONLY WAY OF GETTING AROUND AND ITS HARD ENOUGH ON ME AS A SINGLE MOTHER, THIS IS JUST ONE MORE PROBLEM I DIDN'T ANTICIPATE, THAT WAS WHY I USE GRANT MONEY THAT I RECEIVED FROM SCHOOL TO PURCHASE (WHAT I THOUGH) WAS GOING TO BE RELIABLE TRANSPORTATION. THIS SITUATION HAS REALLY BEEN A BURDEN AND HARDSHIP FOR US, ESPECIALLY TRYING TO FIGURE OUT HOW WERE GOING TO GET FROM ONE PLACE TO ANOTHER..IM SO FRUSTRATED AND SADDENED BY THE DEALERSHIPS NEGLECT, NON CONCERN, AND NOT PROPERLY FIXING VEHICLES BEFORE MARKETING THEM.I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHAT I CAN DO ABOUT THIS MATTER BECAUSE I BROUGHT THE CAR WITHOUT A WARRANTY AND IT WAS USED. MY CAR HAS BEEN SWALLOWING GAS. IT USES 1 GALLON PER 5 OR 6 MILES, IT DOESN'T ACCELERATE, AND IT KEEPS TURNING OFF WHEN I SLOW DOWN, AND I HAVE TO RE-START IT. IT HAS BECOME VERY UNSAFE FOR ME AND ALL THE DRIVERS AROUND ME. I TOOK TO THE DEALER. THEY SAID THEY CHECKED IT, AND THEY REPLACED ONLY ONE LITTLE GAS CAP. THEY SAID THAT IT WILL TAKE CARE OF THE PROBLEM. IT DIDN'T. I STILL HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM OF HIGH FUEL BURNING. I TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALER. THEY CHECKED AGAIN. THEY SAID THE FUEL TANK NEEDS TO BE REPLACED AND THEY WANT TO CHARGE ME $1027 TO REPLACE THE FUEL TANK. SEVERAL MECHANICS TOLD ME THAT THERE WAS RECALL ON FUEL SYSTEM ON MY TYPE OF VEHICLES. I SHARED THE RECALL INFORMATION WITH THE DEALER, BUT THEY SAID THAT THERE IS NOT RECALL. I HAVE CHECKED RECALLS ON LINE, AND HAVE CHECKED MORE. OTHERS DRIVERS HAVE HAD SIMILAR PROBLEM. I WAS DRIVING HOME FROM WORK AND STARTED HEARING THE TRUCKS UNDERCARRIAGE START TO RATTLE AND GRIND ON THE BUMPS OF THE ROAD. I HAD A SUDDEN LOSS OF POWER ON ENGINE AND IT WOULDNT RESPOND TO MY PRESSING ON THE GAS. I BELIEVED THAT I HAD GAS IN THE TRUCK BECAUSE THE GAUGE READ HALF FULL AND APPARENTLY I WAS OUT OF GAS. SO I PROCEEDED TO PULL INTO A GAS STATION AND AS SOON AS WE FILLED UP, THE TRUCK WOULD NOT START! I SAW THAT MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON AND HAD TO ASK FOR A JUMPSTART TO GET IT STARTED AGAIN. AT ANOTHER TIME AND DATE AGAIN THE TRUCK WENT DEAD, I ASKED FOR A JUMPSTART AND THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT RESPOND. I NOW HAD TO BUY A NEW BATTERY BECAUSE THE CAR DAMAGED THE ORIGINAL BATTERY AND NOW WITH THE NEW BATTERY INSTALLED MY CAR STARTS BUT WILL NOT STAY ON WITHOUT ME PRESSING ON THE GAS WHILE IN PARK GEAR. I BELIEVE SOMETHING MAY BE DEFECTIVE WITH THE ELECTRICAL GAUGES, FUEL DELIVERY SYSTEM, AND SUSPENSION. *TR
WENT OFF ROAD THROUGH EMPTY LOT GOING AIRBORNE LANDING NOSE FIRST IN YARD, STRIKING THREE TREES, CONTINUING NORTH BOUND INTO ANOTHER YARD STRIKING TWO MORE TREES AND A DECK.
I STARTED MY VEHICLE TO LEAVE A PARKING LOT AND AS I PUT IT IN REVERSE, IT MADE A VERY LOUD SCREECHING NOISE. I APPLIED THE BRAKE AND IMMEDIATELY TURNED OFF THE VEHICLE. I LOOKED UNDER THE HOOD TRYING TO SEE IF THERE WAS ANYTHING NOTICEABLY WRONG, NOTHING. I RESTARTED MY CAR AGAIN AND PUT IT IN REVERSE AND THE SCREECHING NOISE STARTED AGAIN WHEN I PUT THE VEHICLE IN REVERSE AND IT WOULD NOT MOVE. WITH THE HELP OF ANOTHER PERSON, WE PUSHED IT BACK THEN, PUT I IT IN DRIVE AND IT DID MOVE FORWARD AND THE NOISE STOPPED AFTER AWHILE. I SPOKE WITH SEVERAL PEOPLE AND I WAS INFORMED THAT IT WAS THE TRANSMISSION. I LOOKED ONLINE, SPOKE WITH SEVERAL MECHANICS, AND THEY ALL INFORMED ME THAT IT WAS A COMMON PROBLEM FOR THE TRAILBLAZER THAT THE SUN SHELL FAILING. I ALSO FOUND SEVERAL DISCUSSIONS REGARDING THE TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS OF THE SUN SHELL FAILING ALL WITH VARYING MILEAGE. I HAVE RECEIVED SEVERAL QUOTES AND THEY ALL VARY IN RANGE. I ALSO CALLED THE DEALERSHIP THAT I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE FROM AND THEY DENIED ANY KNOWLEDGE OF THE TRANSMISSION FAILING. I WAS TOLD IT WAS BECAUSE OF MY HIGH MILEAGE. THEY QUOTED THE HIGHEST OF EVERYONE WITH $2868 FOR A REPLACEMENT. IF IT IS COMMON KNOWLEDGE AMONG THE MECHANICS NOT ASSOCIATED WITH THE DEALERSHIP, I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY THE DEALERSHIP DENIED ANY KNOWLEDGE OF THE PROBLEM. THE AMOUNT OF MONEY PAID FOR THESE VEHICLES, GM SHOULD ACKNOWLEDGE ALL PROBLEMS OF THEIR PRODUCT AND FIX THE PROBLEMS. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO VERIFIED THE FAILURE AND ADVISED THE CONTACT NOT TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE SINCE IT WAS CONSIDERED A SAFETY HAZARD. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE WHO DID NOT OFFER ANY ASSISTANCE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 110,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 119,000.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A LOCAL MECHANIC FOR ROUTINE INSPECTION WHEN THE MECHANIC ADVISED THAT THE PASSENGER SIDE UNDERBODY WAS CORRODED. THE MECHANIC ADVISED THAT THE WHEEL COULD SEPARATE FROM THE VEHICLE BECAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE MECHANIC ALSO ADVISED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS UNSAFE TO DRIVE IN ITS CURRENT STATE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND ADVISED THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD NEED TO BE DIAGNOSED BY AN AUTHORIZED DEALER. IN ADDITION, THE MANUFACTURER ADVISED THAT THEY WERE UNABLE TO ASSIST WITH ANY REPAIRS BECAUSE THE VEHICLE WAS NOT LONGER UNDER WARRANTY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 67,822.
SLIGHT GAS LEAK DEVELOPED SHORTLY INTO A MAJOR TOTAL FAILURE OF THE FUEL SYSTEM, LINES AND TANK.
WAS DRIVING TO SCHOOL TO PICK UP SICK CHILD AND WITH NO SOUND TRUCK ACTED LIKE IT WAS IN NEUTRAL, SLOWED DOWN AND EASED ON GAS IT TOOK BACK OFF. THIS HAPPENS SO MUCH, NOW ITS IS PARKED IN MY DRIVEWAY. *TR

PRETTY SAID TO KNOW THAT CHEVROLET MAKES ALL THIS MAKES ALL THIS MONEY AND WONT REOPEN THEIR RECALLS WHEN THEY DIDN'T REPLACE PARTS ON VEHICLES TO BEGIN WITH MAYBE NEXT TIME SHOULD HAVE WENT FOREIGN INSTEAD OF AMERICAN FOR ALL THESE YEARS. *TR
WHEN I DRIVE MY CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER, THE GAS GAUGE IS ALL OVER. I CAN HAVE A FULL TANK ONE MINUTE, AND HALF A MILE DOWN THE ROAD HAVE 3/4 OF A TANK. ALSO IT DOES THE SAME THING WHEN IT HAS A QUARTER OF A TANK, IT WILL SAY IT HAS 1/4 OF A TANK, AND A MILE DOWN THE ROAD IT JUST DROPS AND THE LOW FUEL LIGHT COMES ON. ALSO I CAN PARK THE VEHICLE WITH ABOUT 3/8 OF A TANK, AND START IT LATER, AND IT SAYS EMPTY, AND THE LOW FUEL LIGHT IS ON. WE ALSO HAVE A 2004 GMC ENVOY THAT DOES THE SAME THING. THIS HAS BEEN AN ISSUE FOR BOTH VEHICLES THE ENTIRE TIME WE HAVE OWNED THEM. BOTH WERE BOUGHT IN 2010. TRAILBLAZER SOUNDS LIKE A JET ENGINE WITH A LOT OF "WIND" NOISE. TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND FOUND THAT THE FAN CLUTCH WENT BAD. NOT ONLY IS THE FAN CLUTCH FAILING ON MULTIPLE TRAILBLAZERS BUT CHEVY MADE THIS PART SO DYNAMIC THAT THE COST IS OUTRAGEOUS. I HAVE A 2002 TRAILBLAZER THAT IS CURRENTLY GETTING IT'S 3RD TRANSMISSION INSTALLED DUE TO FAILURE. THE FIRST ONE WAS REPLACED IN 2005 AT 48,000 MILES. I SAW AN ARTICLE IN WHICH YOU WERE TESTING TRAILBLAZERS FOR FAULTY FUEL GAUGES AND IT LOOKED LIKE IT ONLY SPANNED FOR 2005-2007, I HAVE A 2002 TRAILBLAZERS AND HAVE RUN OUT OF GAS NOW TWICE WHEN IT SAYS I STILL HAVE GAS LEFT, MY LIGHT HADN'T EVEN TURNED ON YET. *TR

THE DEALER HAD NO INFORMATION IN REGARDS TO THE RECALL AND THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A SECOND DEALER WHERE SHE WAS ADVISED THAT THE RECALL WAS CLOSED. SHE CONTACTED THE MANUFACTURER AND THEY ADVISED HER THAT THEY WOULD GET BACK WITH HER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 70,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 70,500.
SINCE PURCHASING THIS VEHICLE NEW I HAVE HAD CONTINUOUS PROBLEMS WITH THE 4 WHEEL DRIVE! IN FACT THE VERY 1ST TIME I HAD TO USE THE 4 WHEEL DRIVE IT DID NOT WORK! THE DEALER, CHEVROLET OF HERSHEY WOULD KEEP THE SERVICE TICKET OPEN FOR A MONTH AT A TIME AND NOW I EXPECT I KNOW WHY SINCE THIS COULD HAVE COME UNDER THE LEMON LAW. I HAVE MORE RECENTLY HAD PROBLEMS WITH NOT BEING ABLE TO RELEASE THE 4WD AND THIS CAUSED, WITHOUT A DOUBT CAUSED THE NEED TO REBUILD MY TRANSMISSION!
